The best restaurants in Winlaton and High Spen Gateshead North East

Got taken here for dinner with friends and it was a lovely surprise. Excellent food, friendly service and really good value for money. It's great to find a down to earth Italian restaurant which just serves good food in a friendly atmosphere - too many restaurants have lost that and try to be too trendy

Esta granja es un cómodo paseo cruzando el Derwent a pie de nuestra casa. Hay un amplio aparcamiento si vas en coche, que evita el paseo cuesta arriba en coche! Hay un montón de interesantes esculturas de vidrio alrededor de la granja. Los salones de té son acogedoras y limpias, con actividades para niños. La comida es sencilla pero sabrosa. Normalmente tenemos el café y la tarta, pero he tenido sopa el pasado otoño.

Waited 90 mins for an exceedingly average meal that was anything but hot, atmosphere was good though. Won't be back there for Sunday lunch again, bar meal perhaps

3rd best chippy in winlaton out of 3 Curry like water tasteless Chips rock hard poor choice of potatoes or overcooked Staff pleasant shop clean.

1st visit in a while, walked our 2 x 6months puppies down to try a little socialisation. They were a little hyper/loud in some moment's and we didn’t think they would settle (but they did) Staff and some customers were very understanding and helped make it easier. We managed few drink and picky food that were delicious. Nice pub and staff, always has that country feel to it. Would recommend it very welcoming.

Have been using galaxy for years , food has always been 1st class . We understand prices have gone up , dont mind paying extra. What we dont like is paying for smaller portions. Everyone is strugling either put prices up or give smaller portions not both.

Been a few times, wouldn’t recommend, not sure if the staff were trying to be unhelpful or just genuinely don’t know what they’re doing. Very slow service and bad for vegetarians/vegans, will avoid in future.

First time ordering from here and never again. Starters were cold, popadoms were not fresh and a weird colour. Curry was average with little taste £38 down the pan !!

Popped in quickly before a appointment but wasn’t impressed. There were only a couple more tables in but service was still painfully slow. No mention of table or counter service so we were a bit unsure of whether we order or our order gets taken....
