I love the Calzone and the Greek wraps on this place. If you get in durung happy hour the value for money is ridiculous. The ability to bring your own wune for an uncorking fee is something i wish more restaurants would do, it allows the restaurant to focus on really good quality food, as this place does. If you have ever been to agreece you will appreciate the authenticity. I woukd far rather eat here than any of the greek restaurants in town.

Cute little night with my husband and two under 4. Service was slow, it took around 29 minutes for our drinks to arrive, however the food totally made up for it. Fresh and delicious. The children's portions are really big and both our children enjoyed their pastas. We both ate from the Greek menu, all tasty, the tzatsiki was amazing.

Honestly super disappointed, over priced for what it is. It's very much an all or nothing place. We were also seated directly Infront of and completely blocking the fire exit. I got the stuffed vine leaves, a personal favourite, there was only 4 small parcels (about half the size of anywhere else) they were served with a single slice of tomato a single slice of cucumber and a dinner plate full of tzatziki. My son had the hummus with toasted bread, this had the same problem with a massive amount of dip, this time with 4 1 inch cubes of bread. The hummus was completely flavourless and extremely watery. I asked for a few olives to be added to my son's pasta, fully expecting to pay around £1 as an extra, however they charged us £4.95 which doubled the price of his meal. My dad order a medium rare steak with blue cheese sauce, there was barely any sauce and the steak was well-done, he sent it back and got a pretty ok steak but it was swimming in sauce.

Good food only thing far to much for me and that's nothing to complain about. Special very reasonable and house rose was delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

Have been to this restaurant several times. Menu is extensive and food is generally very good. The chef only knows how to cook Steak well done but otherwise good. Service is quick but you don’t feel pressured to leave at the end to allow for another xitting.

We have been to Petro's a few times now but last night was for our sons 16th birthday. The service was friendly and we didn't have long to wait for our food and drinks and the food was exquisite. Just the right amount to make you comfortably full. We all had a great time and got to use the Petro's voucher we'd received at Christmas making an already affordable meal for 5 even better.

I ordered for pick up from their website. We arrived about a minute before due time but then had to wait over 10 minutes before it was ready. Apart from that though the food was really excellent and prices reasonable. Would definitely use them again.

chicken looked very dry chips they were very fat and they tasted bad I do not recommend

The staff were so friendly, and assertive the manger even came and asked how our food was she was very happy cheerful person. The food was absolutely amazing couldn’t be more happy with the service. We went for a friend’s birthday and the Manager heard we where celebrating a friend’s birthday and they came out with a slice of chocolate cake with a candle in would 100% recommend to family friends

Came here for Sunday dinner and thought the worst when the place was quiet. Genuinely can’t fathom why on reflection. Food was incredible, two-course meal for £12 which included potato skins and a beef Sunday dinner represented more than just excellent value for money. Highly recommend it. Just try it for yourself. We’ll be back. Cheers.

Been here a few times, the service was good. The mains was nice but as my kids always get potato skins as starters we thought we'd try Petros equivalent but wow 3 pounds or 4 they were some crisps sprinkled with paprika, that was shocking really. It's a shame as that poor start sort of colors your evening . The rest of the meal was better.

Can’t wait to go back!! My partner and I tried a selection of starters including the meatballs, calamari and Greek salad which were all very tasty I especially loved the meatballs. I didn’t think the starters could be beaten I had the special pitta (Petra’s) which was delicious. The staff couldn’t be nicer device was super quick and so reasonably priced. Certainly worthy of a return visit.

This was my first time at the restaurant and how disappointed I was with the food. The rest of my party had been in October last year and at the time had nothing but praises for the food. However, they have just changed the menu and the new one is missing some Greek items that were on the previous menu and I think should still be on the Greek part of the menu. The dishes in question were baked feta cheese starter and the chicken souvlaki. As I was intending to have the feta cheese starter I had to make another choice and opted for the king prawns in Ouzo, which were very nice but would have personally preferred them out of their shells as the dish became very messy to eat. I chose the Lamb Kleftiko for my main. This is my favourite Greek dish and one I choose regularly on my holidays to Greece. I love the way that it is slow cook so the lamb just falls apart in your mouth. Unfortunately, this was not how the Lamb Kleftiko at Petra’s was. No way was the lamb slow cooked. Instead there were slices of lamb that had obviously been cut off a joint after in was cooked and place in the dish. The meat was tough and the dish just so disappointing. My partner had the chicken gyros as the chicken souvlaki was not available. He said that it tasted ok, but the presentation was very lacking. It came on a meal tray and the food laid onto of a piece of paper, so felt that we were at a fast food location rather than a restaurant. I couldn’t fault the service and friendliness of the staff. However, my personal experience of the food means that I will not be returning in the foreseeable future unless their food improves greatly.

Absolutely dreadful experience. Dull decor, radio played over the speakers during the meal, awful bland tasteless food. Service OK but otherwise very poor. Had lamb kleftiko, but slivers of lamb like shoe leather.

Not sure what's happened since the last time I was there but it's not what it used to be.

Been a few times & never had any complaints however, last night's visit was different. My Greek salad starter had scrapings of feta cheese on it & the Greek sausage in me pasta tasted like tinned hot dogs. The Gyros has also reduced in size. The service was ok but everything we asked for we had to ask twice, wine glasses, questions about the menu, the bill / card machine etc. Think it may have changed hands, not sure. Sorry but we won't be rushing back in a hurry.

Rang up and booked a table but when we got there it wasn't in the diary, they quickly put 2 tables together for 10 of us. Service was terrible (apart from one lad who seemed to be running around trying to do everything). Food was cold and tasteless. One of us ordered rice and it didn't come, when questioned we were told they didn't have any. Sat for nearly 20 minutes with dirty plates on table while staff stood around doing nothing. Was really looking forward to it but won't be rushing back unfortunately 😕

Craving a Gyro so found a Greek resteraunt in gateshead. Travelled from Washington to get there and they had no gyros wow. So i went for the chicken solvaki instead. It was authentic Greek nice and flavourful . Tiny wrap however. My friend got the lamb kleftiko which wasn't served traditionally but overall nice food. It was dead we were the only ones in and the waitress and waiter were young and not attentive.

The food was excellent and the staff were efficient and friendly. Our only problem was the minute printing on the menus. There were 8 of us and even the ones with spectacles had difficulty in reading them. Maybe next time we will bring magnifying glasses or binoculars!!!!!!

Visited for the 1st time recently, great food , friendly staff nice atmosphere. But the outside carpark area totally lets the place down , bricks , cigarette ends empty cans bottles etc . It’s like it has been totally overlooked . When this is the 1st impression you get as you drive in . Would definitely visit again though

I just love this place! Been several times . Booked for the Greek night last night, amazing atmosphere, brilliant entertainment, dancers and live band. We had an unforgettable night. Lovely staff and very friendly owners. Can't wait for next time.

What an absolute gem of a place, friendly staff, delicious food with huge portions and you can even take your own bottle of wine or prosecco. Love this place 🩵 Pool table & table football upstairs, also TV's for sport & bands on most Saturday nights

What a disappointment!! Firstly waited ages to get served Ordered drinks that were not as expected as in tonic if it was tonic flat!! No smell of Gin either!! Spritzer was not a Splitzer served in a wine glass!! No ice and flat as a pancake!! Starter was good Main course ordered had a salad on the same plate as the hot dish….yuk!! Staff were vague and inexperienced but pleasant I would always leave a tip but had no inkling to leave after that!! Will not be returning

Very very disappointed on our last visit today. Ordered G&T and a wine spritzer. Tonic flat and could neither taste nor smell gin. Wine spritzer came in an ordinary sized wine glass - flat tonic. Waited a long time for our food order to be taken even though only a few tables in the restaurant. Ordered red pepper hummus - none available. Ordered ordinary hummus - none available. Ordered tsatsiki - available and enjoyable. Ordered Chicken in a sauce with side of salad - salad came on plate with the chicken in the hot sauce!! Asked for bill and shocked to see wine spritzer was £5.95 for touch of wine and flat tonic!! Unusual for us but under circumstances did not leave a tip. Will not be returning.

Me and my ten year old enjoyed our meals. The choice seemed quite good. The only down side- my latte was made with slightly off milk.

My first visit to petros and it won't be the last. The atmosphere was nice, it wasn't too crowded and the service spot on. The food was delicious. We took advantage of the two course offer and the portions were spot on. We had garlic bread which was a full size pizza and the tzatziki and the gyros for main. Kids meals were brought out with the starters which was great.

Ordered £45 worth of food on just eat at 19:03, received notification delivery will be between 19:40 and 20:00. Then at 20:07, over an hour after ordering receive notification order has been cancelled with no further explanation. I can understand not accepting orders if too busy, even cancelling it shortly after receipt if it can't be fulfilled would have been excusable but this is just shocking service and shows disregard for customers.

It's a bit cold in the building but the food is great. Lovely dips, highly recommend the meatball starter

Decided to go on a walk ..the local pub was closed but stumbled on this place nothing jumps out on first looks but my god food was lovely chicken gyros top notch friendly staff aswell worth a go 👌

Been several times before when passing through the area. The happy hour was on on this time we visited but there was not much difference in price. The staff were friendly. The portion sizes were good and the food was hot. The restaurant was quiet...

Poor service, 2 other people in restaurant. We were 2nd table. Had to ask for drinks after 15mins of waiting after ordered. Starter come 35 mins later, garlic bread x2. Mains arrived, asked for no tzatziki sauce. came with answell extra even though asked for garlic. Service really poor. Food was okay.

It would be hard to comment on the food as I didn’t actually get to eat anything. I rang and ordered takeaway but when I arrived I was told they didn’t have what I ordered (pita petro) as there was no halloumi, I asked for an alternative and was told there was no gyros, surely a menu staple at a Greek restaurant. An absolute waste of a 20 minute journey when they could have called me to let me know!!

Communication problems unfortunately, wrong amount of wine brought, starter instead of main course arrived, all sorted eventually and food was ok but not a great start for a first visit.

Service very poor. Sat for 20 minutes waiting to order, even though there only 2 tables in. Waited an hour for food and when we asked for an update were told that the kitchen hadn't received our order. As you can see the place was absolutely dead, but somehow we were still ignored. Ended up leaving and going elsewhere as it was almost 3pm. In fairness we were given our round of drinks for free. Will not be returning unfortunately.

Food: Really tasty and good service downstairs, husband and I both loved our Greek meals Drinks: Great cocktails but me and my friends tried the G&Ts, really lacking in flavour, tasted like soda not tonic, no garnish even though I saw they had lemons and limes. Use the garnish to spruce up the flavour! Upstairs lounge: Really good atmosphere with bar in the centre and some pool tables. Saw a band there which was ace, looks like a great space to rent out for private functions. Would go back, but please make your G&Ts taste nice! :)

Would give it 4x but service was rather lacking. Ok was Queen's General but younger staff seemed a bit out their depths. The Waitron in charge though very good. Food was ok.

Update Aug 2022 - the kids and I went here for a Thursday 3 course special for £11.50 each. Lovely food, well cooked and very tasty. Service was polite and friendly and well mannered; which I've found to be a rare quality in restaurant staff lately. So was really nice to experience this on our visit, even more so as my young kids were there with me. I've been here a few times. The food is lovely down stairs in the restaurant.

First time at Petros, first impressions very good, nice decor, real friendly staff, and food was superb, we had the 3 course happy hour, loukanika, keftedakia and homemade crisps, then 2 Piato Gyros, kotopoulo souvlaki and 3 ice creams, you can have tea or coffee, food was sublime, hot in temperature which is massive plus for me, it's served immediately from when the chef creates it, the gyros is absolute delicious, totally recommend this establishment

Lovely food and reasnoble price. Now providing a takeaway delivery service. Lovely helpful staff. Only negative it shares a car park which was full. Had to be dropped off with elderly disabled dad hubby had to find somewhere to park and catch us up.

Food was very tasty, with a lot of choice.
