very warn and friendly atmosphere, first time collecting as we normally get delivered. A blessing however as I was unaware that this was an actual authentic Italian restaurant. we will definitely be booking a table. Food is very high quality and atmosphere/ staff/chef very welcoming.

Chips cold and soggy. Pizza wasn't even cut. 6 pieces of pineapple on the pizza.

Delicious food with fresh ingredients as and great prices. Piazza Latina used to be my 'go to' restaurant when I lived locally. I was pleased to find that the food is better than ever and the proprietor just as charming. The pizzas that we had were excellent and authentic. All the food was excellent but the vegetarian Nachos starter was particularly good. And unbelievably good value.

Fabulous, gem of a place in the heart of low fell , had take out but the restaurant is worth a visit too

We went last night ( Saturday night). Place empty no staff to greet us ?? This was 6.45 so walked back out.😡

We had a lovely inexpensive meal here, well cooked and very tasty. Service was very good, atmosphere was nice just a bit quiet. Very good for vegetarians

Pizzas we're cold. Not usually like this from here. Never had an issue before and they've always been lovely. Slightly disappointed this time.

It was amazing we had garlic mussels in a creamy sauce to start and then I got a blue cheese pizza with bacon and chilli oil and got to talking to the chef about an extra hot chilli oil so I’m going back tonight to give it a try.

Traditional old school Italian restaurant with Mexican and Mediterranean as well as a full compliment of fabulous Italian dishes. Hospitable owner and chef who makes himself available to chat to his diners.

Food was really nice but would have been better if the pizza had been sliced and also would have liked the option to order a larger size pizza.

Absolutely amazing time, honestly the only downside was that not enough people were there. You need to eat here, it's incredible

This a gem in Low Fell! The food was amazing, fantastic value for money and we were so well looked after by the staff there.

Excellent pizza at a really reasonable price, with very friendly service. I can’t believe there weren’t more people enjoying this fine restaurant.

Disappointed I received the wrong dessert, ordered a banana split and got meringue and ice cream, didn’t call to complain as not worth sending a driver back out for a dessert, garlic bread was lovely and nachos with chilli was nice

Carbonara was soaked in a oil that tasted like chip pan oil and bacon undercooked and no cheese. Nasty !!

I had the marirose pasta dish and it was piping hot and really tasty, ideal portion size. Pepperoni pizza as part of a meal deal was nice, good size and we found it being uncut quite funny giving all the comments about them. It's like their signature 😅.

pizza wasn't cut and the edges were hard, chicken risotto with overcooked rice and napoli souce, nothing to do with Italy, will never order again 😑 only one plus the delivery lady was so nice and cute

Do not recommend. I ordered the pate as a starter and the bread was as hard as sticks - couldn't cut through it with a knife let alone teeth. The salad was the best part! Also ordered garlic, yet weirdly my pizza came with a tub of JAM - the stuff you put on bread not pizza. My pizza was okay, but my friends spag bol was also not very good with watery spaghetti. His starter of garlic bread seemed more like a nanbread too! Perhaps the weirdest, most bizarre and most terrible order ive had in a long time. Do not go unless you want jam on your pizza, and watery spag bol. Would have given it 1 stars although my pizza wasn't too bad.

The mushrooms tasted like they were cooked with fish and too much garlic, with no cream. The pork was too fatty and the sauce tasted bitter with little to no seasoning, the bolognese was very watery and bland. The only thing we finished was the chips.

And it was not what I expected meatballs pasta was OK didn't think much of the rest . Yes I've been a chef for over 40 years and have made better

We love this restaurant - the old ones are the best! Apparently one of the first Italian restaurants in the North East (on a par with Francesca’s and Santana’s in Jesmond for long standing excellent Italian reputation). This traditional Italian restaurant offers more than pizza and pasta - there is something for everyone including delicious mussels, Mexican food, the menu is extensive, so I can’t remember all of the rest. It is friendly and reasonably priced compared to other Italian restaurants. The pizzas were excellent, as was all the food. Don’t forget about it just because it is tucked away upstairs.

Just no. No no no no no no no!! I ordered food from here via Just Eat. Halloumi and bell pepper burrito and homemade chilli cheese chips. Yum I thought - retch I got!! The supposed burrito was some deep fried cheap halloumi fries, with some deep fried frozen veg in a greasy slimy wrap - where was the rice? The beans? The fresh herbs and veg? Where was the flavour!?!?? Oh and the chips - not quite sure how you handmake congealed cheese onto frozen chips and think a sparse shake of chilli powder will make it all better!!! I’m not one for waste but this lot went in the bin and I made myself a sandwich with the disgust and despair I had for this sorry sad excuse for a meal. Try this place if you want but I won’t be again

Went for a meal last night, the food was very tasty & value for money. We will return.

Items looked like they had been drop kicked around. Tried to stop the delivery driver from leaving but he just looked at me blankly and left. Had to scrape the pizza off the bottom of the box and the Bolognese had exploded and was all over everything else.

Fantastic restaurant with very authentic Italian food. We visited with a group of friends and had a wonderful evening. Great value for money. Some in our party are from London and couldn’t believe how affordable the food was for such good quality. The restaurant decoration makes you feel like you are on holiday. Highly recommend for anyone looking to celebrate with friends in a relaxed and attentive setting.

Margarita pizza was almost perfect with a crispy crust and creamy mozzarella would definitely order it again , carbonara was perfectly creamy overall amazing food.

Pizza was beautiful, pepperoni was very salty though so glad there wasn't too many on there. Chips were good too no complaints. Don't order the yum yum if you were expecting more than a greggs yum yum, because that's exactly what it was. Overpayed for a Gregg's dessert, not good.

Never eaten such a cheesy pizza. Cheese was dropping out. This is my 3rd time I have ordered from this restaurant. Mint food. Must try out the pizza here as its authentic Italian pizza. Defo will order again.

the worst takeaway i've ever had and i order a lot off just eat. the pizza could of put someone's window out let alone my teeth. never known an italians to not do Tagliatelle so got bland spaghetti with no seasoning with what to just be lasheted in milk instead of a Carbonara won't ever order again so disappointed and £21 out of pocket . the worst

Visited with friends on a Tuesday night, very attentive owner and great thin crust pizzas. Used to be a regular when living locally 25 years ago and little has changed in this excellent traditional Italian restaurant. We will be back

Great little restaurant goes at a typical Mediterranean pace of service but food was worth the wait … needs some music to brighten the atmosphere but definitely would recommend.

Went in to have food the guy bent over backwards to accommodate us, food was fast and very tasty and competitively priced.

Calamari starter & Pizza was very nice and the chips, however the mussels in white wine and garlic cream there was far too much cream in the sauce, couldn’t taste anything else- just a tiny bit needed.

Absolutely worse place to ever order from. Waited well over an hour for the food. It didn't arrive and the man I spoke too was a disgusting and arrogant. The staff are a bunch of liars too. Update: Just received a scathing reply from the restaurant. It's clear to me that's it's no wonder that there is a lot of negative views. Their attitude and behaviour is horrific

Worst food in Gateshead, the place needs Gordon Ramsay, kitchen nightmares to intervene As much as we were told everything was “FRESH” nothing was fresh Straight from the freezer to pan isn’t fresh hunni

Requested no olives as allergic still put them in, potato skins had soggy lettuce underneath and ruined the potato skins. Coke was warm. Called to complain to be told that's how we do the skins nobody else complains so must be you. No help from just eat as usual, joke

A low fell institution. Wonderful authentic Italian food and the best staff. Highly recommend, will go again.

Have always gone here since a kid! Been the last few weekends and the food was lovely! Taz and team are great hosts and the food was lovely and filling! Not expensive so the whole family can go! Will be going again for sure! No wonder it's one of the longest running restaurants on Low Fell!
