Bute Arms in Gateshead

Waited 90 mins for an exceedingly average meal that was anything but hot, atmosphere was good though. Won't be back there for Sunday lunch again, bar meal perhaps

This is a great, family friendly pub with lots to offer from a fabulous menu, to pub quizzes. The all day breakfast was lovely and a very good portion size. As we went for lunch, we also ordered the 3 for £15 plates which were very tasty. Great community, would recommend!!

We’ve been here a few times since the ownership changed and it’s as good as ever! Great, friendly service and excellent, well-priced food ranging from snacks to full meals. We really do recommend this lovely place

This is a fantastic community vibe country village pub Very well looked after. Food looks amazing, great drink selection and atmosphere was great when we visited on a Saturday evening, with live music The guys running it must incredibly happy with their team behind the bar. A special shout out to Maisie who made sure the drinks were flowing and really added to a great night and really went out of her way to talk us through the gins on offer and was smiley throughout.

Well cooked food and friendly service. Nice range of beers and I noticed mistake with another tables order was dealt with brilliantly.

Great atmosphere, great food, great service and great prices. The Bute is a very welcome addition to the village.

Previously visited here a couple of weeks after it opened when it didn’t serve food, lovely atmosphere. Went back today with 20 friends and they now serve food! Had the roast beef and it was really good, melt in the mouth with lovely crisp and fresh vegetables. Lovely staff and only suggestion would to offer decaff drinks along with the others they have.

We’ve called in at the Bute Arms on a few occasions since it reopened and it gets better and better with every visit. The pub has been refurbished to a very high standard, immaculately clean and spacious too. The food is excellent- lovely menu and all dishes are cooked from scratch. We highly recommend this lovely pub!

We use the road through High Spen as a cut to the Gill from work and have watched this place go from a place you would not go to , to a place that looks fab. So Wednesday night, we braved it and called in. Food was the plan but given the audience and time of night, we plumbed for a drink instead. The place is an absolute credit to all involved. Layout and colours are tasteful and it has to be said, the craic was good and we will be back but the Wig guy is not good and needs to be limited! 🤣🤯🤬

Only newly opened but a great place to go for food or a social drink. Food quality is incredible and a really varied menu. Amazing roasts on a sunday but book early or you cant get a table. Huge portions too.

We live locally, and have waited patiently for The Bute to reopen, what a delight! The building has been sympathetically rebuilt to a stunning standard, and the difference is in the detail. The outside facade of The Bute is crisp, clean and attractive, the interior features pictures of our local war heroes, and showcases the peacock theme throughout. Fixtures and fittings are incredibly tasteful and enhance the space. Bar staff are polite and pleasant especially Sophie, who is always accommodating and professional. The bar is very well stocked and offers a vast variety of drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent evening meal in The Bute. Each course was very well presented and beautifully cooked to order. Tableware is modern and sophisticated and visually enhances the gorgeous food. In conclusion, The Bute has given us our village back and most importantly our community. It has been a privilege to spend our Wednesday evenings listening to live music from local talented musicians, which is such a treat. The Bute has reconnected us with former local friends, as well as giving us the opportunity to meet new faces. Well done to all who made this happen, and we look forward with anticipation to future events and possibly a weekly quiz?
