Black Horse Inn in Gateshead

First time here. Had Sunday lunch, beef was tender and very tasty. Lovely yorkshires, roasties and veg and lots of gravy. Never usually have a pudding but after a little rest had Biscoff cheesecake with cream. Very nice. Staff friendly. All good!!!

Fabulous Bar and Steve is amazing! We have had so many lovely memories in this bar, our engagement and christening! Would definitely recommend it, the food is lovely and the atmosphere is great. Fantastic bar!

The Sunday lunch was very disappointing. The vegetables were over cooked. The meat was good however.

This is a hidden gem, the outside space overlooks farm lands and red kites can often be seen gliding the air currents, I haven’t been for Sunday lunch but I hear good things about that and it’s often busy at that time.

Didn't have good this time only had a drink or two, pleasant enough and staff were friendly too, which is a good thing, give it a try for yourself

Have to say dinner was nice but...there has to be a but...I ordered the 3 meat and received different meats than what I ordered..also asked if we wanted any sauces I said mint sauce please ..never received..and before you say I could get my own ..I could not as it was in their kitchens. Also would like to say at no time were we asked if everything was fine with our meals which I think should be a given .but no ..at this point I could have told them about giving the wrong meats ..now imagine if it was against having the different meat on my plate as you never no why you want or do not want certain meats.would I go again probably but think you need more staff as the 2 young people made 2 mistakes on us how many did they make all day...

Great meals excellent views and reasonably priced

Visited on a Sunday, mid to late afternoon after a long dog walk, so food was not available but that wasn't an issue, drinks were fairly priced and the staff welcoming to us and the dog (who was provided a bowl of water and a dog treat or two). A hidden Gem with cracking views in the pub garden.

Just had Christmas Fayre menu at the Black Horse today. Absolutely fantastic. Best Christmas Fayre meal I've ever had. Portions huge. Staff so friendly. Can't fault it, just a shame not more people taking advantage of this fantastic pub.

First visit was soooo good we returned with the whole family. Outstanding food and very friendly service, highly recommend.

Been here 3 times for their Sunday roast dinner and I must say I cant fault them. Good value for money, big plate full of wholesome food. Lots of meat, varying vegetables of the season and good old Yorkshire puddings with lashings of gravy. Smaller adult meal available as well as children's choices. Lots of old brickwork showing, comfy chairs along with a conservatory to dine in. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Recommend booking in advance as does get busy or take an empty plate along and they will fill it for you to take home at a later time. Cant recommend this place enough. Outside seating available as well. Well worth a visit.

Lovely pub. Ales are getting better. Service is good. The views of the Cheviot and beyond are fantastic on a warm summers day.

I was only passing through and stopped for one drink, It was very welcoming and one of the most relaxed atmosphere for a bar in the area. Didn't try the food but the menu looks good to consider in going back.
