Cosy little dog-friendly tea room serving good coffee & tasty cakes with a lovely south-east facing view overlooking Derwent Walk Country Park. Ample free parking (or a short uphill walk from the Park), interesting & eclectic glassware on sale, warm & friendly owners - all-in-all delightful!

This is a lovely cottage to stay in. Although the sofa bed is not very comfortable and the downstairs is dark in the winter, you cannot read in the low lighting. The fridge is small and therefore restricts your functionality and the owner has a big dog which I am very weary off although it was friendly. The owner is very helpful and friendly and if you stay here in the summer it will be amazing. We had christmas and new year here and had a great time, just a couple of small things like the fridge, sofa bed and lighting took the edge off top marks.

We popped in for tea and cakes and found it very good. The arts and crafts available are well done. We did not use the outside area as it was cold but nice to go inside in back room where the open fire was lovely. It's quite a big hill to drive up and we were pleased no one needed to pass. But well worth anyone going up if not for the food to buy the goods.

We just happened to pass today and decided to pop in! Lovely little decorations out the front and the glass for sale inside is lovely too. Was nice to sit in front of the fire and play the little wooden games with our hot chocolates and teas. A little gem, we'll be back :)

A great place to visit for tea, cakes and a brilliant view. The staff were so friendly and everyone in the tearoom went out of their way to make you feel welcome. We were very interested to hear about the Red Kites and we look forward to returning with our walking friends.

We've passed Hagg Farm Tea Rooms many times before finally pulling in on Saturday. So pleased we did. Set on a hill above the Derwent Valley this pretty cottage is the perfect place for a cake and cuppa, especially if the sun is shining so you can sit out in the cottage garden. The owners, Rena and Paul are so welcoming and Rena's glass gallery is wonderful.

Tried to review this place before but it did not get posted ! What a lovely little gem of a tea room situated up a hill from the road running up to Winlayton . Miss the sign and you can easily drive past ! With indoor and outdoor seating , on a sunny day sit in be grounds and you may see some of Red Kites that are in the area ! Outside tables even have little posies of flowers and travel rugs to use while you sit outside if e sun goes in . We use outside as we take the dog after a walk in the Derwent valley . This is one of those quaint tea Roos you just have to visit if you are in the area and it appears to have a lot of regulars sharing the grey pound if you know what I mean . Lots of beautiful home style cooked food and sandwiches, scones , quiche , cakes and biscuits . The owner is also an artist in glass and there are examples of her work to purchase in the cafe , with examples scattered around the grounds . She had been commissioned for a number of pieces for commercial buildings for entrance foyers etc . Lots of horse sculptures outside and castles inside . We now have a piece on display in our dining room! It's Bamburgh Castle in a glass silhouette! It's probably less than 10 minutes drive from the Merto centre in piece and tranquility and one of those places if you know it's there , you will make a point of visiting for a scone or a cake and coffee if you are hungry or not ?,

Absolutely spot on, couldn’t fault it. It’s busy so they’re clearly doing something right. Lush honest fresh food

Was at Gateshead College for a meeting & popped into Greenhouse for lunch. Got a fabulous spiced lentil takeaway soup, complete with warm crusty roll, butter, knife and spoon all for £2.50. The soup portion size was excellent value. It was piping hot and super tasty & the warm roll was a fabulous touch, well done. More than I expected for a takeaway soup option. Highly recommend it. 🙂

A lovely evening with friends in the Bay Horse. Warm and cosy atmosphere, excellent service thanks to Traci who looked after us so well. We ordered a variety of small plates and flatbread. All was fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced given the large portions. Highlight was definitely the hot halloumi flatbread. Looking forward to our next visit.
