The best restaurants in Tower Hamlets London

TLDR: This place has amazing food, even better service. Check it out!!! If there were more stars to give Thai O'CHA would get them, no question. My partner and I found this place a couple of years ago and now always return here anytime we're back in London. We're working our way through the entire menu and every dish is as good as the last, if not better (duck in oyster sauce or drunken beef are personal favourites, give them a try). But the main reason we keep coming back is the service, more specifically Emma. She always greets us (and everyone else) with a smile and is one of the most kind and diligent people we've ever had the pleasure of meeting. So make sure you check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

Mi pareja y yo llegamos aquí a las 1655 para nuestra reserva de 1700. Cuando entramos, había cajas aplanadas por todo el piso y un caballero de pie en el mostrador de recepción. Intentamos explicar que teníamos una reserva, pero su inglés no era genial. Entonces una mujer vino por detrás de él y comenzó a gritar: "¡Cerrado! ¡Fuera! ¡Cinco minutos!". Muy, muy, muy grosero. Todavía no sé por qué perseveramos y, posteriormente, nos arrepentimos... Después de ser echados afuera en el frío para permanecer de pie durante cinco minutos, regresamos adentro y estábamos sentados. Puedo decirles que el restaurante se ve profundamente más desastroso que las fotos en su página de Instagram. El lugar podía usar una pintura fresca, los menús estaban cansados y algunas ventanas rotas. Además de esto, había obreros (supusimos fontaneros) subiendo y bajando las escaleras y caminando por el restaurante mientras estábamos sentados - ¡bizarro y no mi idea de una buena experiencia gastronómica! El menú también era extraño. A mi pareja no le gusta el sushi, y la mayoría de las otras comidas que se ofrecen no eran las más tradicionales de la cocina japonesa. ¿Los currys Teriyaki no venían con arroz y el pollo katsu venía solo sin salsa? ¿No hay cajas dobladas? Pedimos frijoles edemame para la mesa y estaban mal cocinados. La tempura de cangrejo de cáscara blanda que pedí para empezar era muy grasosa y no sabía muy bien. ¡Creo que me sirvieron gambas! Pedí un trozo de sushi de seis y los rollos más pequeños que he visto se pusieron delante de mí. Sin exagerar, no eran más grandes que monedas de 20 céntimos, así que me decepcionó mucho lo que estaban cobrando por ello! Sabía a media en el mejor de los casos. ¡Mi compañero pidió el pollo katsu y nos horrorizó descubrir que estaba crudo! Lo llevamos a la atención de la camarera y se disculpó. Aunque apreciamos las disculpas, no nos gustaba que ignorara nuestra solicitud de pagar e irse y continuamente empujando el menú bajo nuestras narices para tratar de hacernos pedir algo más! Eliminó el cargo por pollo y servicio de la factura con más disculpas, pero aún así nos sorprendió y nos decepcionó mucho. Sólo pagando por dos Cocas - Colas, edemame, el cangrejo y el sushi - nuestra cuenta todavía llegó a la friolera de 35 libras! Ahórrate el trabajo, no había nada bueno en esta visita. ¡Vete a otro lugar, y a una parte mejor de la ciudad también!

Très bonne table, ne pas hésiter à demander un beau poisson à partager, il n'est pas forcément sur la carte et la serveuse ne le propose pas forcément.

This place - what a find! He does eggs on toast with add-ons, and wow does he do it well. The coffee is also absolutely stellar. Prices are very reasonable.

When in London opt for the Curry. We were staying in Whitechapel and searched for best Indian food and although there are what appears to be an unlimited number of Indian Restaurants on Brick Road, we passed a number of establishments urging us to come have the best, we stuck to our reservation and went to Muhib. The decor was upscale, beautiful china and cloth napkins. We started with vegetable samosa (should have ordered one order per person) then our typical choice of Chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi and an occasional choice of vegetable curry. My first bite of the masala was good but not spectacular. But as the meal continued and the flavors began to release it really did become one of the best Indian I’ve had. The naan was chewy and cooked perfectly and the rice pilaf was solid. I’m very glad we found Muhib and give it five stars.

Just wanted to write this review to mention that Bishow gave my girlfriend and I some lovely service on the May bank holiday Monday! He had said his shift just started, but was very warm, friendly and genuinely smiling! We have both been to several tortilla branches before, particularly around Westfield Shepherd’s Bush, but Bishow gave us the friendliest customer service to date!

Me encanta este lugar! La comida es fantástica, el personal es de primera clase y el ambiente aquí es siempre agradable. Viajo desde Wembley solo para experimentar el ambiente Capeesh. ¡Las alitas de pollo y las pizzas están para morir!

The duck and plum sauce noodles were delicious! The portion sizes are decent and filling, with the pieces of duck cut thickly with a slight crisp to the skin! The rice noodles are nice with a beef broth + spicy sauce that warms you right up! Would visit again!

The whole team at The Hackney were amazing for our wedding earlier this spring- they made the planning process so smooth and gave fab advice and guidance as we made decisions. Their set up is perfect for the smaller reception we were planning, and provided an intimate, relaxed and fun atmosphere. The whole reception, flowers, food, decor, service and coordination were fantastic and it helped us and our guests fully relax and enjoy a fab day/evening. I’d highly recommend them for any events.

Café y pastel, gran selección de ambos y un ambiente animado encantador en el lugar. No muy caro y un gran servicio, un gran lugar para el desayuno también, solo un buen lugar concurrido para pasar un tiempo y tener algo de comida de excelente calidad una bebida, una opción mucho mejor que el desayuno en un hotel higiénico.
