We celebrated our daughters wedding here recently. It was a fabulous venue, very stylish. The staff were all professional, very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was exceptionally good and we had a wonderful time and made many many lovely memories, which we will treasure forever.

We LOVE DJ'ing at The Hackney Co, London. The venue is just super, great location, incredible decor, amazing staff (so friendly and couldn't do enough for you!) What more can we say... First and foremost, we celebrated our wedding with The Hackney and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Since the beginning, planning our wedding with them has been easy, straight-fordward and honestly felt very calming having this venue taking care of so many aspects of your wedding, you basically just think about the favours and clothing and that's it. When we arrived from our ceremony, the place was beautifully decorated, the team knows very well what they're doing and they do it best. You cannot doubt this guys with the food, the quantity, quality and flavour was superb. I was very pleasantly surprised with each bite. This chef must have a Michelin star at least. The team we had this night could not be better, they were friendly, attentive and very kind, we had a QR code for everyone to upload pictures of the wedding and they helped us uploading some very nice pictures. They were always very accommodating and helpful. If ever go just for a coffee or a work session, their coffee is amazing and everyday food as well crafted as our wedding menu. My daughter had her wedding here, mid week. The place is deceptive from outside. Its a little jem. Its not massive but very intimate. It has a lovely outdoor space with cover. The food and service were excellent and professional. Special thanks to them all. I believe Ericka was the young lady in charge. Friendly and helpful with advice and a lovely smile. What a credit.. I’ve photographed a couple of weddings here recently and I’ve been really impressed by how friendly and professional this venue is. It’s a compact space but can cater for a decent crowd - up to 60 for a sit-down meal and more for a standing event/party. The style is industrial (as befits the location) with loads of lush greenery, candles and the all-important disco balls, and a covered outside area. As a wedding vendor, the staff treated me extremely welcomingly and kindly and I’ve heard from my clients that they also felt well looked after during the booking process. The food was amazing. It’s a great place for a cool East London wedding reception and I hope to work there again!

Very spacious and beautiful decor and interior. Fantastic outdoor seating and perfect place to work/study or catch up with a friend. Staff were very friendly and kind. Coffee isn’t anything special and wish it was better, especially for how great of a location it is.

Decent enough but nothing like their online photos, hardly any flowers around and that's the reason we took the trip over unfortunately. Maybe next time!

The service was incredibly disappointing. Upon entering, we felt unwelcome as no one led us to a table. After waiting over 10 minutes for a menu, I had to get up and fetch one myself. Even then, we were left waiting to place our order, prompting my partner to inquire about it. Despite being promised assistance, no one came to our table. As we left, the server feigned taking our order and then became defensive when confronted about the poor service. It was a subpar experience and I suggest improving staff training. The employee (lady with the green highlights) at the exit even argued with us and displayed a bad attitude when asked for her name. This raises concerns about the quality of your hiring process.

I photographed a wedding here on the weekend. It was one of the best venues I've been to. The staff are so amazing and friendly, they really look after their suppliers. The wedding breakfast room is a perfect combo of industrial and high end but still has a cool edge to it with its white brick and metal frames. I would like to that the staff at the venue for being so lovely to me and I cant wait to be back again.

Perfect place for working on laptop during the weekdays, good wifi and seating area. Staffs are super nice. Bagel was super crunchy and latte was ok, great value for the price.

Update: this is no longer a coffee shop it’s just a private hire venue that pedals some coffee between events. I have attempted to go a dozen times in the past year only to see that it is closed for a private event. At this point what is the point of pretending to be a local coffee shop when it’s never open for locals to obtain a single coffee. Don’t waste the walk . . . (Old review from 2018 below) My favourite coffee shop in East London. Decor 10/10 Lots of seating, never an issue to stay on Food and pastries are great- toasted sandwiches and soup are great. Drinks in the evening- highly recommend one of the signature espresso martinis! Very cheap I think £8. Lovely staff, and the same friendly faces each time! Back garden is open during summer which adds space and let’s you sit outside! Also holds supper clubs with local chefs/ florists! Free WiFi, great lighting, great coffee

It's a very friendly and quiet coffee place in the middle of Hackney. Filled with plants and a very chilled atmosphere, it is the best spot for a snack while you check your emails or simply enjoy the stillness of the greens during a day off. Coffee, cold drinks and pastries served with a smile... carrot walnut cake is a must try. Highly recommended!

Was in London for a wedding. Stopped in for a very nice coffee and cake one morning and a few days later attended a very enjoyable wedding event. The staff, service and atmosphere were second to none. Thanks team.

Came in for a coffee and wasn’t disappointed. The courtyard is a great place to escape the busy high street. The interior is designed so beautifully and the barista was friendly and brought my coffee to my table.

I photographed Ash & Bex's wedding and fell in love with the cool and stylish vibes of the venue. The lighting and greenery is gorgeous. You don't even need that much decoration. An amazing intimate venue perfect for a summer event with a great outdoor and indoor space. We hosted a private brand event and it worked perfectly the venue provided a great team of staff organising the flowers down to the food. Would highly recommend!

Worth a try, but uncomfortable chairs It's nice. The chair is actually uncomfortable lol. This place looks nice though. They have a selection of tea but to be honest in the menu nothing is clearly. This place is constantly updating itself which is good. B

My company had their staff Christmas party at The Hackney. (about 80 people in total) We had a brilliant evening. The staff were very attentive, the cocktails were amazing and made quickly and the space was really beautiful. We were told there was going to be a noise limit as there are flats above but that was not a problem at all. The music was definitely loud enough. My only nitpick is the drinks were only served from the bar so people tended to stay quite close to the bar all night. I think if drinks had gone around on trays, there may have been more people on the dance floor, which is around the corner from the bar. Overall it was a really lovely evening and lots of fun was had!

We hosted our Christmas Party here and it was amazing!! The best Christmas Party we have had. Food was amazing! The waiter service was great!! The cocktails were some of the best I have had in my life!! and the Venue was just simply Stunning the pictures don't do it any Justice

We hosted our office Christmas party here in December 2022 and it was the perfect venue choice. The food, drinks, beautiful décor and layout were all perfect. It was also fantatsiv value. Hugo and the team couldn't be more helpful suggesting suppliers and accommodating. All of the guests were so complimentary. Would 100% recommend.

Could not recommend the venue & team at The Hackney enough. They absolutely blew it out of the water for our company Christmas party and it was the perfect night. The venue was stunning and it was perfectly decked out in classy holiday spirit. Most importantly, the team were very helpful and efficient in getting everything in place for the day of the event. It was a joy to plan an event here.

We hosted our work summer part here and it was honestly the best party we've ever thrown! the staff were so lovely and fun, and the team were really accommodating of all of our needs! really wish we could host every party here - can't recommend this place enough!

Our daughter had her wedding at The Hackney in June and it's a brilliant venue. My daughter chose it because it's such an attractive venue with loads of character so didn't need much decoration. Hugo the event manager at the venue was amazing and the day went without a hitch. All the guests said how fantastic the venue was and the wedding as a whole. It was a brilliant day.

Recently attended a wedding reception here and cannot recommend enough! Drinks were excellent, all food was outstanding and everyone working there was friendly, welcoming and efficient. As a group made up of hospitality people, our standards are high but we were all extremely grateful for the outstanding hospitality we received! Thanks to the whole team and we will be sure to visit if in the area again and will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a small wedding venue!

Three increasingly pleasant rooms and an outdoor patio, good coffee, and they offer to toast your croissant. Seems to be a total gem, and I'll be back. However, I have to remove a star for the fact they sometimes just close during opening hours.

cool place w/ nice vibe and food/drink, that's all 5* normally great 5* but wifi doesnt work and seems it hasn't for a while, and they emailed me asking to review them so guess i will edit: can't see how to reply to your reply but the server told me it wasn't working for lots of people, and it didn't work on 2x my devices (android & windows) and my partner's devices (apple) so bit disingenous to say its fixed edit: here a week later and wifi still doesn't work

I cannot rate this place as a coffee shop/ restaurant as I was only in the city for a wedding with this being the venue. On that note, as a wedding venue, what a marvelous time had. The space is lovely, the food fabulous and the service attentive. When next in the area, will definitely stop in for coffee and a bite.

We have just attended our daughter’s wedding at this venue. Fantastic! Hugo and his team were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing also. We had around 50 guests seated which was perfect and plenty of room for dancing and places for people to relax and chat. The team decorated the room beautifully and also attended to all of our requests to personalise bits. The team serving the food were brilliant, everyone was served in good time and no one was waiting for their food. Well worth considering if you are thinking of booking for your special day

Super cute cafe in Hackney! Their beetroot latte is great and tumeric latte was so colourful! A great selection of drinks and food. The cafe also turns into a bar which I want to check out!

Needed somewhere to work and chose this as its local to me, sit down only to be told abuptly five minutes later that in five minutes I needed to put my laptop away because 'no laptops after five - signs are written everywhere' - somewhat ridiculous rule considering the had half the space hired out for a company meeting doing a loud Zoom conference when I was there. As someone who is self employed and works from a coffee shop most the week.. I just wont be putting my custom there from now on. Lack of care and basic politeness...Too bad !

Great coffee, nice ambience with all the plants in the back room. Would go here a lot more often if they had more/better food options at lunchtime. Right now it's some so-so sandwiches sitting out on the counter, not bad exactly but also not good enough to say "let's go THERE for lunch!".

Beautiful place, in front of a busy avenue, but still so you feel calm and relaxed inside. We had some toasties and coffee, everything full of flavour, wonderful quality coffee and ingredients. You can feel the fresh taste when enjoying your meal. Staff so polite, friendly and helpful.

Looked nice from the outside but the staff was very unfriendly and unaccommodating. I sat there for 10min without anyone coming to take my order. When finally someone came up to me, it was only to tell me I wasn’t allowed to use my tablet as it goes against their ‘laptop’ policy. I literally told him I only needed a few minutes to fill in a form on my tablet (aka big phone) and it was about to die. I was also using my own hotspot. I was basically told to leave. The café was also more than half empty which really didn’t justify such a hostile attitude. I understand the need for cafés to impose such rules but there should be more common sense. If I read a book from a Kindle would I be banned and if it’s on a paperback I could stay then?

Really spacious and peaceful inside. Deceptively cosy "shop front" leads to a bright and airy seating area and patio. As it was a quiet day I had the patio to myself which was a rare treat. The mocha (decaf) was pretty good and didn't disappoint. Prices in this part of East London are often a little higher than average. Even so I would probably come back and try the food sometime.

Absolutely lovely coffee shop! Not only was the coffee amazing (oat milk was perfectly steamed/coffee not burned) but the sandwich (pesto & mozzarella) and pastry (lemon & olive oil cake) hit the spot:) Aside from the food and coffee, the space is amazing (lots of natural light, plants, and space to sit) and staff were friendly! I found it to be a great place for me to get work done on my laptop (free wifi). Will most definitely be back :)

I attended an event here. The manager came across as quite aggressive which made myself and a few other guests to feel quite unease. Some of the staff were lovely and helpful. I am not sure I would come back to this place as it isn't the most welcoming . I thought I was being harsh but I noticed on tripadvisor that other guests had the same issues with the managers. It's a shame really as the venue is nice.

This place was a gem find whilst I was shopping for house plants. This part of London's full of plant shops and you can see it in the venue too! Stopped for coffee and a matcha and had the best mocha ever made. The matcha latte was good too. The mocha was very smooth and one can tell the coffee was well blended and high quality. Their interior really embraces the rustic East London aesthetic. I'l have to stop by again for brunch. Highly recommend.

Just another coffee place in Hackney

The service and QC at this place have really gone down the crapper since the last time I was here: got a quizzical and quite possibly patronizing look from the member of staff who took my order when I made a simple request for a basic condiment (whipped cream!) to accompany my slice of cake. Nothing wrong with not having it, just say you don’t have it and be done with it. Why do you have to look at a patron in a way that suggests you think they’re from another planet for making such a request? Was also unimpressed with the crumbs and dirt all over my table when I found myself a seat, which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all day. Gross. I guess this is the kind of third-rate experience that the hipsters of Hackney live for!

It's a lovely environment with a good set up for people looking to work on laptops. Sky lights make it bright and hanging plants add a good vibe. I went in the afternoon and the cafe was pretty empty and quiet. Lots of gluten free cake options but weren't serving food. They closed at 4pm. Quite expensive but I would go back.

You have to venture inside to appreciate this beautiful large quirky space. Shop front has no seating, but go on through after you've ordered at the counter and you'll find yet another room...and then another. Well worth an investigation, wonderfully decorated, lots of seating, some really comfortable chairs too...coffee was great. When we visited on a Sunday, there was no food, only coffee was being served and a few cakes. I had a Cortado, would have preferred it in a smaller cup or glass...my companion ordered a flat white which was unusually served in a lovely small cup, while my Cortado came in the big glass, didn't look so nice. But like I said...it tasted GREAT, strong and smooth and that's what counts. Highly recommended. Thanks guys ✨
