The best restaurants in Southwark London

Food was lovely but service was so disappointing I wouldn’t eat here again. We ordered a selection of plates that were whisked away as soon as they looked vaguely finished (they weren’t), we had only just ordered dessert (having asked three times for the menu- generally the waiters were very inattentive and it was hard to get service) when we were told the restaurant closing. We had only been there for about 1hr 15 minutes by this point and weren’t given our table until 8.35pm despite booking for 8.15pm (which was earlier time for evening sitting). We told the waiter we needed to have dessert but then were told three times (whilst eating it) we needed to go and were given the bill before we’d received dessert which I’ve never experienced before. As soon as we had paid I felt like we were just being hassled out, particularly by one large bald guy who resembled a bouncer. Despite spending over £100 on a couple of bottles of wine we had plastic pint glasses planted on our table and when I went to toilet I returned to the table to find my wine glass was gone and wine decanted into plastic. This totally spoilt the enjoyment of almost a full glass of a nice wine, which I ended up leaving. The final straw was the bouncer guy coming over and telling me us rudely they were closed and we “needed to leave”. It wasn’t even 10.30pm and still felt early - plus other customers were still there. We felt like we were pushed out and it completely soured the evening which was a birthday celebration - and felt a bitter end. Bora Bistro I had high expectations - and you failed miserably.

Perfectly cooked steak, excellent tapas & wine options. Friendly & attentive service. Lively atmosphere/ great vibe. Highly recommend.

Such a shame there's very few Wimpys around but when you pass one you just have to turn back and dine! All my childhood memories flooded back with my quarter pounder and cheese burger, chips and strawberry shake. Tasted as good as it did when I was a kid!

The name says it all (HONEST ). Osvaldo, Ganiyat and Augustine provided exceptional service. I could not fault the services give by those 3 (michelin star). Great food, great atmosphere. I will be visiting Honest Burger again. PHILIPA HAVE AN ISSUE THO. I found her dismissive and rude. I think training might be over due. Except that BRAVO❤️

After coming to this pub for a few years and already knowing what to expect in terms of food and service, we ended up tying the knot there on Saturday. The food was as expected, fantastic. The service was impeccable. We are so happy we got to share such a special day there and would fully recommend it to anyone looking to hire it. Or, just to pop in for some grub! We can't wait to be back there again as soon as possible.

The sushi and Gyoza was excellent, much better than the ramen specials which were just OK. Our waitress was lovely but I did feel sorry for her as she was overworked and she seemed to be manning the whole place herself, could do with an extra pair of hands to make the customer experience better.

Excellent little cosy pub that I stumbled upon while having a walk in Rotherhithe. Staff is nice and friendly, the food is great and a good value for money, as the beautifully presented beef burger with giant chunky chips and a slaw costs mere £12. Beer tastes clean and the interior of the pub is charming, with miniature ships and helms and vintage pictures. I'll be back

Laurence is a dream, his food is amazing and the place has had a really nice refresh!! Great dietary options. Go and you won’t regret.

Very good service and excellent food

Delicious food. Good menu. Just lovely. Having eaten in Barcelona lots - this was as good as anything I’ve had there Paella was amazing.

Lovely food, friendly service, definitely recommend as a high-quality independent alternative to the ever expansive Gail's across the road. Very dog friendly.
