Pret A Manger in Southwark

This is so sad, humiliating. Do we have no pride in food quality? Or has every customer here been conditioned of this embarrassing matcha quality. How can the coconut matcha stay the same for the past 3 years? I be embarrassed if I were in charge.

This Elephant & Castle Pret was much like any other Pret, but the toilets here were disgusting.

I have always enjoyed coming for my latte, being greeted with a smile and normally an overall pleasant staff, but my last visit left me speechless. 9 times out of 10 I'm generally greeted and served by a young man at the till, swift and efficient. This incident enraged me to the point that I was duty bound to make an official complaint to head office. The young man, I shall refer to as O, is diligent, swift and efficient and it shows that he enjoys his work. On this occasion, there were 3 members of staff in the background, seemingly with nothing to do, making no attempt to even look busy. I'm an Englishman,I run my own business which requires me to speak several different languages. I looked towards them as they were giggling away, but then I saw one of them point towards O and make the most despicable, disgraceful comments about him, all the while his back was turned. They spoke in what was quite obviously their native language, making heinous comments, it was, quite frankly for me an extremely difficult situation to be in. O appeared blissfully unaware, and for that I was thankful. I asked for the manager but was told he wasn't available by one of the aforementioned disgraceful members of staff. No offer of name or contact number. As I left, I bade farewell in their mother tongue, and their faces drained of colour. And worse still the fact that no other "team" member intervened. The young man O has always been pleasant and courteous, but not one for idle chit chat. This makes him a valuable member of staff in my books. This can be no means have been the first time he's been ridiculed and verbally abused, and I was overwhelmed with sadness, I was left with no choice. These woman represent a company that is well loved and appreciated, no respect for themselves or the establishment where they work. And I will push this until resolved. Failing any resolve I will approach O so that he is fully cogniscent of what took place. And if these woman are a representation of Pret, that would be a travesty. I am but one customer, one fish in a very big ocean, but I am an enormous fish, and I've earned respect.I WILL NEVER ENTER THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN. .But I will not rest until this is resolved. Any company should know their staff.

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed my experience getting my lunch in Pret. I have been served by Paula; she really makes me feel welcome, and the way she served me was one of the kindest ways I have received. She recommended me some of the options that I will enjoy once I try, since I told her that I wasn't sure what to eat, as they really have plenty of options. Kindly, she asked me about my allergies and which flavours I had in mind. From the greeting to the way she treated me, she made me feel very comfortable and made me think that I have a new place where I can feel completely welcome to get my food.

You get what you expect from Pret

VERY good place close to a parks and very good staff! I recommend trying the ham & cheese sandwich it might be around £3.5 but so good!👍

what do you mean £10 for a ham and cheese toastie and a hot choclate. thats £6 MAX! staff didnt even heat it up that much more like ham and COLD toastie. COLD CHOCOLATE. toastie wasnt even that good. tiny thing. smelt like feet mabye the staff stepped on it whilst i had my back turned. love you xxxx

This new lady who works here,be so rude to me,she says toilet only for customers,I wanted to take tea, but first I wanted to go to the toilet and wash my hands.I have been a regular user for several years and the previous staff were friendly. After such an attitude discourages the desire to come here!!!If she doesn't know me, because she's been working here recently, that doesn't mean she needs to be rude!!!

Order was partially incorrect which is just annoying when you receive someone that you didn’t want.

Staff making rude comments about Muslims laughing and have given my the worst caramel lattes. I will bin this. Rude! Didn’t even give me a napkin so i had to eat like an animal. Worst experience so far!

The staff is so friendly and nice here

Rude, unfriendly, and lazy staff. Especially the brown haired manager who makes up fake excuses and refuses to make drinks, just because it's nearing the end of the day. Well you aren't closed yet so stop being lazy and do your job.

The pastry was not cooked properly it was soft making other ingredients unreadable

There's not much to say. It's a Pret, like other Prets. The staff here is friendly, their service is swift, they make good coffee & I love the almond croissants. I regularly go here, picking up two latte & pastries when cisiting a friend nearby. This Pret is a nice and relaxed one.

staff are rude and have no customer service and rather than confirming what the customer wants they are just trying to rush you out the way.

Convenient meeting point. Met up with friend who lives locally. Great coffee and fresh sandwiches.

Not a good experience. This chain is supposed to provide the usual, expensive experience across all of its - - - with a basic standards of hygiene and customer service. Disappointingly, this has not been the case for this branch. I just went in with a friend for a quick coffee and a bite. The place is shabby the coffee, a cappuccino in my case, as akin to a flavoured washout, the tables not cleaned. Another customer requested its wonky single table to be cleaned and this young fellow, possibly the manager, arrived with a dirty cloth, no intimation of rinsing water or at least a spray, and moved the leftover food directly from its surface to the floor. The place, in fact, was thrown with all sort of organic matter. One could have been surprised that rats were not present. Try to avoid the place.

As always, a pleasure. The food is freshly prepared and always tastes great. The staff is friendly and courteous. We like to have our breakfast here.

Tried to order a drink I always order, raspberry hot chocolate. staff has no idea, seems lost, bad manner. Argued with me saying there's no such thing. I had to teach them and say that the manager told me on the hot chocolate choices they had.Jan 16th morning two girl staff, around 10am.

this the worst place to get a coffee, i have coffee from hear several times, you paying £3 something for a coffee, and their coffee is foamy milk, burned and that no amount sugar can make the taste go away then a staff member who has his hand on the phone and spends more time on the phone than your coffee he is making, their crossants and pastries look dry and burnt

On two o assigns now I e had really bad service at this Pret. Manager today was patronising and didn't listen to my wishes. So sad as I am a subscriber and do not get this in other prets.

They have a toilet and they never leave their customers to use it. I am cancelling my subscription

Consistently the least filled Pret baguettes of any branch I have been to in London. Other nearby branches have plumper versions. Disappointing.

A bit busy but spacious with plenty of seats.

Would have been 5 stars if they packaged the hot drinks properly. You'd think as a coffee shop they would know how to do this. Received 2.5 coffees as one had split all in the bag

Disgusting claim they no longer sell what I ordered yet every other Pret dose sent me a roll filled with undercooked bacon that stinks shocking called store and got referred to as darling RUDE.

I am regular customer, I am not well, I need toilet most of the time but whenever I ask to go in the toilet they send me somewhere else, one of the staff is telling me they cannot afford to clean it

Stuff are super rude, I have a mild stutter and they were very inpatient with me. I also asked for oat milk in my coffee instead of regular milk and the response from the person serving me was very sharp. Normally I love pret but I will definitely not be going back to this one ever again.

Half of the soup was spilt…the bag was bursting, it was so wet….awful awful service! With all the £ this cost, at very LEAST you could be careful with the packing of the food! NEVER AGAIN!

Each time I order a coffee they pressure it too much until you taste burn

I used to go there a lot, but since the coffee shop reopened in the castle centre I have my coffee and. Sandwich there, the coffee is amazing and sandwich they warm it up for me and nice and cozy inside

Plain pret, food always good, was not very happy with the service. 4 tills empty, and no one taking the order. There was enough staff. Tables and floor were not as clean as I would have liked. Tipico pret, il cibo è sempre buono, non molto contento del servizio. 4 casse vuote e nessuno prende l'ordine. C'era abbastanza personale. Tavoli e pavimento non puliti come avrei voluto

Service is terrible. They charred a toasted sandwich black and then looked at me blankly when I said it was burnt…. Quality of food has really gone downhill in the last couple of years

This pret in Elephant and castle is nice, super chill music and nice batistas! If you live in London of you stay at least a month the BEST decision you can make is to take Pret's suscripcion and use it very much. Their CHAI latte is amazing. And for 25£ honestly you can get 200£ of drinks per month.

Fairly decent. Went in there for a hot chocolate was a lil weak tbh. But drinkable. It's at a fab location but a busy one so get a seat where you can. Staff were friendly, however the delover system was a lil iffy as drinks almost got confused when handed out.

Had a double chocolate cookie the other day and it was harder than a dog biscuit. Pret are being to become complacent and the quality is beginning to lack. Shame

Nice drinks and open til later than most, quite busy so it's hard to find a seat and there are no outlets to charge devices if you want to work. Good to sit in and drink.

Nice coffee. Again they do very dark bakery products and overcook them slightly. Sometimes leaving them less baked can render croissants and pain au raisins softer and more succulent. Some prets do white less cooked stuff and they are the ones I prefer all the time.Fresh looking and white less darker. 3 stars due to this reason

Worst branch ever! It is quite busy but couldn’t understand why the coffee taste like a cup of boiling water. No milk bubble or anything no matter what you ordered. Not to mention smoothy. Cappuccino is just added quite a mass of sweeteners/syrup on top of poor latte water. No asking if I need receipt and crushed croissant. It just like some typical KFC stuffed with beggars. Chaos like E&C!

It's a standard pret. Really nice food and rather quick coffee. At times it can be a bit of a long wait however it is usually very fast but staff are super friendly and will get you your order ASAP if you end up waiting.

Usato per fare colazione nei miei due giorni a Londra. Devo dire che i cornetti 🥐 e gli altri dolcetti sono molto buoni, però non ho mai assaggiato le bibite ed i panini.. ma sembravano buoni a vederli. Un po’ scettico sulla frutta in confezione, ma non posso esprimermi perché non l’ho assaggiata. Se siete anche voi neofiti di Londra, magari per una colazione decente è l’ideale per iniziare 😎

Usually fairly busy. Not sure if they have the seating area back but last I went they had removed the outdoor seating and in door seating.

Extremely annoyed. Ordered to tuna baguettes and received HAM. We are Muslim? And now have pork in our household. My last name is khan, couldn’t be anymore obvious.

Literally worst Pret. Today I was around e&c and because I have subscription for my amazing Pret in Green Park (next to Swallow Street) I have decided to get something quick and a coffee on my subscription. 1. Girl charged me 6.95 for ONE salmon and egg snack. 2. Gave me hot chocolate instead of latte Honestly, she did EVERYTHING that she could wrong. I understand it was 5 min before closing time (18:55) but come on. Ew. Do NOT recommend this pret to anyone.

Running out of ice at midday? Pretty rubbish planning for the weekend. Could at least put a notice up on the door saying that so people don’t queue up in vain.
