Comptoir Libanais London Bridge in Southwark

Los restaurantes Comptoir siempre son una buena opción para una cena fuera. En este caso, tuvimos la suerte de tener una mesa porque el lugar estaba lleno, pero logramos apretar en una mesa pequeña, pero muy cerca de otros. Sin duda vale la pena reservar una mesa con antelación. Hay una buena variedad de opciones disponibles, pero siempre recomendaría ir por el plato, tiene un poco de todo y todo es muy agradable. Kuda, nuestro camarero era absolutley fantástico, siempre sonriente, eficiente, extremadamente educado y agradable. El mejor profesional que he conocido en años, enhorabuena por tu duro trabajo y por ser como eres.

Tuve un almuerzo encantador. La comida era típica de Oriente Medio y el Líbano. Un ambiente agradable y amable con un buen personal. La comida estaba recién cocinada y el servicio fue rápido. Deliciosa hamburguesa kofta de cordero con patatas batata haras y una increíble limonada casera con menta de manzana y jengibre. Buena ubicación frente al centro de Southbank. Recommended

We had problems finding somewhere to go around 7pm on a Friday night so were glad to get a table here without booking. The staff were great but the food was indifferent - clearly reheated and served lukewarm. We wouldn't choose to go back.

Food in Comptoir Libanais always tastes amazing. The service was also impeccable. My server was called Kuda, and I can't recall the last time a waiter was that friendly to me.

The food was great, portion sizes were good too and the service from Kuda who was rushed off his feet, but he was happy and personable - was best of all.

Very tasty food. Very friendly service - extremely nice waiters/waitresses. In particular, the waiter Kuda was very friendly and charmed us all with his positivity and helpfulness. A very enjoyable experience that lifted all our moods. We will be going back in future for more meals.

Delicious! Food arrived quickly and hot, so tasty. Cocktails were lovely! Very helpful and polite staff. Nice affordable meal out in central London!

We were seated quickly and the food was delicious. However the restaurant seemed preoccupied with a large booking. Unfortunately that meant no one came to take our order after 15 mins so we had to ask. Also we asked several people for water and it never came. So when our food arrived I walked to the bar myself to get some tap water. Additionally a server we had never met came over once he saw me finish and took our plates away. This would have been fine however my fiend was still chewing as he removed her plate. I’ve been to Grind lots of times and the service is great so I think on this occasion they were particularly busy and we unfortunately didn’t get the service I was hoping for.

We were seared quickly on arrival & given enough time to choose our drinks & food. For me the lighting was very poor which I personally don't like in a restaurant. The food choice was adequate & I went for Prawn Katsu Sando, which unfortunately wasn't as tasty as it sounded. The prawn in batter included the shell which you weren't aware of until you bit into it, mouthful of shell is not pleasant. My friend had fish & chips & her fish was more batter than fish. We both enjoyed the fries. Drinks were good although the Coke came in the small bottles, so 1 is never enough. Overall the service was ok, waited on 2nd drink but staff pleasant and friendly. I've also been to Grind at Liverpool Street station & enjoyed the food and ambience more if I'm honest so probably unlikely to return to London Bridge.

Nice food, good service but super noisy. Couldn’t even speak to my partner sat opposite due the large loud groups surrounding us.

My first time to Grind and was expecting it to be a lot better! The ambience of the restaurant was good. A bit loud, but not a problem. Initially the waitress offered us water , but I felt when we asked for just tap water, she wasn’t too happy that we didn’t upgrade to the filtered tap water! After that we had to ask another waiter to take our order and it took a while for the food to arrive. We both had avocado on toast with an egg and bacon. The food was rather bland (despite the sprinkling of chilli!). The toast was soggy, the avocado v cold, the egg meh and the bacon not crispy enough. Sadly the good did not live up to the hype. Don’t think I’ll be going back in a hurry. I must mention that the member of staff I spoke to on the phone the day before was very helpful and friendly. I think her name was Katerina (or something similar)

This has been my favourite local restaurant for brunch (both bottomless and casual) for the past 3 years and I am constantly going back and taking my friends with me, the vibes are always lovely, staff are attentive and the food is amazing (I’d especially recommend the pancakes, they are the absolute best)!

My meal was cold in places which is far from desirable when it included shellfish.

The staff that served us was 10/10, and the food has improved massively from last time I visited.

Really rude staff member who refused to bring the coffee I ordered- I asked three times, he told me “it will come when it comes” then said “well I was waiting so I could bring it with your food”. My colleague I was with had his coffee delivered immediately. The whole situation was uncomfortable and I believe had sexist undertones as he treated my male colleague with respect. In addition to this, my food was cold and eggs undercooked. Wouldn’t ever return.

All a bit chaotic, they struggled to deal with my dining partner who had allergies, food took time and came in parts many minutes apart. Some staff were lovely, others had attitude bordering on rudeness

Lovely atmosphere, service was very efficient and the bunch was first class. our son had eaten here before with friends, this time a family meet up as we were visiting london . Would recommend it to others

Came for my birthday lunch today 23/11. Food was solid but the service was very poor today which is rare here, usually everyone is so lovely. Waiter kept rushing us to eat this afternoon 12pm booking, constantly looking over my friend’s shoulder to see if she had finished eating. He was rude in his manner of speech and made us feel uncomfortable, 1h 10 mins in told us our booking was almost up despite it being 1.5 hours. Slapped the bill on the table and quickly ran away without saying anything. Also offered me the bill whilst my friend was still eating. Worst experience I’ve had here service wise which is such a shame given usually it’s excellent.

We had a really lovely Friday evening at Grind as a group of girls for dinner- nice chilled atmosphere, spacious, attentive service and good food and drinks.

Food was delicious, the drinks were great, a little cramped but good evening was had.

Absolutely awful evening. Don't go here if you have hyperacusis. My head is ready to explode with the noise of the music. The lighting was awful too, can't see well at all.

La comida es genial y el servicio increíble. Cenamos con un amigo y Fasil y Dom nos ayudó con sus recomendaciones sobre comida y bebida. A pesar de ser una hora de la noche muy concurrida el servicio fue rápido, las interacciones cálidas y amables por lo que es una experiencia agradable. Sin duda visitaré de nuevo la próxima vez que esté en Lodon.

La comida era muy sabrosa. El interior era precioso. Tuvimos el camarero más increíble Kuda que nos proporcionó un gran servicio, recomendaciones y nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos.

Average food, poor service. Server very antsy about us leaving our table even though was 15 minutes left of our 1.5 hour reservation time. Bill was brought with incorrect items twice, first bill included 8 mains for a four person table - it’s disappointing the server didn’t check this prior to waving the card machine in front of us. More finesse needed from the serving staff.

Hello Lo visité anoche y le expliqué al camarero que tengo intolerancia alimentaria al ajo y la cebolla. Me hicieron sentir como si fuera un gran inconveniente quitar la cebolla de la ensalada lateral (! ) y tuve que hablar con 3 miembros del personal diferentes y sugerirles que me dieran tomate y pepino en su lugar. El gerente incluso vino a mi mesa para decir “preparamos toda la ensalada al principio del día y no podemos hacer más”. Luego, al final de la comida, cuando pedí un té de menta recién hecho, el camarero bromeó “no te preocupes, no tendrá ajo ni cebolla”. Se sentía grosero e insensible y me sorprende que un restaurante sea tan sordo a la intolerancia alimentaria o las alergias. Es la segunda vez que me hago este tratamiento allí y no volveré a visitarlo.

The miso glazed aubergine was delicious! Really buzzy atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and helpful.

Muy decepcionado con la comida el pollo se sirvió frío y solo una pequeña cantidad en la comida, la comida era principalmente col rallada y un par de chapuzones, la porción de patatas fritas por £ 4. 50 era pequeño, un cqn de coca-cola 3 libras. 95 encima de la comida fría precios ridículamente altos para lo que se sirvió, solo un miembro del personal en el piso cuando estuvimos allí temprano por la noche y aunque cortésmente amable y servicial como el lugar se puso un poco ocupado esperé mucho tiempo para que volviera a la mesa sobre la comida fría.

Con mi hermana y mi esposo tuvimos un almuerzo divertido hoy. Está interesantemente decorado por todas partes. Mucha gente en la pared con un sombrero Fez, aunque no pudimos ver uno de Tommy Cooper, tal vez uno se ponga pronto.

Server was unable to answer questions about food and seemed bothered to help us. Between ordering drinks took ages for our food order to be taken. Also the prawn tempura was made poorly- head and shells included- made again minus shell but head was kept on. Very atypical of standard tempura. Japanese heritage so was dumbfounded. Also miso aubergine was not well balanced, was too sharp and very little miso flavour.

We were seated, given water and organised our order. The food was excellent (we had vegan optons). We then asked for some more fries after which we waited, and waited... after about 15 minutes we gave up and asked for the bill.

Lively venue with a buzzing atmosphere. Had their huevos rancheros, it was great and the coffee good quality too! Will have to come back and try the bottomless brunch sometime.

The waiter was a bit rude, pretty much forcing me to start ordering food and questioning about whether or not the other person was coming. Did not feel welcome and it was very loud.

It is always a pleasure to visit the Grind at London Bridge. We didn't have food on this occasion, but we have always had great, fresh food on previous visits. A special shout out to Jake, who is always so welcoming and friendly and shows a genuine interest in getting to know everybody.

Omg...food was delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes to share. The aubergine and miso was the top of the bunch. Lovely friendly staff. Overall thumbs up from us... It's definitely a place to visit again. Great meeting point to fuel us for our stomp around London Bridge and the Thames.

Came for family lunch with children, to celebrate a special event. Was very dissapointed to find out that there are no baby changing facilities. The staff was shrugging us off and some didn't even know whether there are baby changing facilities at all. From a very joyful mood coming to celebrate anniversary, it quickly was turned into pretty sour. Don't know if we'd consider returning again...

Average food quality: Steak way too chewy not enough gravy for the roast and the pancakes were like spongecake. Great service Not easy to have a conversation with a lot of noise. Decent overall

I’ve enjoyed coming here for years with family, work colleagues and friends but today made me re-think. We booked a table for three and two of our party had already been sat at completely different tables. They had never met so didn’t realise they were there for 20 mins without meeting. Forward an hour of good service and it took us 15 minutes to get the attention of anyone to get the bill and one of our party had to walk to the front desk. We then had the bill literally thrown at our table. Very petty. Poor service and then I waited for sometime for someone to come and take our payment. Incredibly rude manners from the front of house, lots of staff never making eye contact and it’s really not that great a place to have to do so much of the running around myself. Not sure I will go back. Grind - you’ve lost your way.

Coffee machine was broken on arrival so had to have filter (would have gone elsewhere had we just been notified via email/text that the machine was broken). Coffee machine subsequently fixed (only told after we asked). Coffee arrived once we were almost finished eating after we had inquired when it would arrive, and we were told that there was a backlog due to everyone ordering - no apology or even acknowledgment how this would affect our breakfast experience.

The food is good, but overpriced. However, we had a table booked for 90 minutes, which was tight, and we were asked to vacate 10 minutes early. We hadn't finished and we had only had 65 minutes of the allowed 90 minutes bottomless brunch. Certainly no time to look at a desert. We felt very pressured to leave, and when we objected about the bottomless time we were given drinks in takeaway cups. Just so disappointing, we won't return

Good food, excellent service from our waitress but we booked the counter and got shoved onto some dodgy counter top facing a wall, between the toilets and the takeaway section, not at the main counter at all and didn’t feel part of the restaurant . Not what we booked and when we asked to be moved, front of house refused. If we had been a walk in I would accept the crappy table but I booked 4 days in advance so overall not impressed.

We had a vegetarian breakfast and a bottomless brunch. The lovely waiting staff pretty much topped up my glass with Prosecco after every sip! The food was delicious and the location is very easy to get to - bang opposite London Bridge station. Thoroughly recommend and can't wait to go back to try other things on the menu

Used to be a great place to grab a bite to eat or a coffee before/after meetings, now it’s uncomfortably rammed, so noisy it’s hard to hear people you’re sat with, and so busy the staff are clearly stretched too thin.

Met a colleague for coffee / brunch on a pre-booked table. There were lots of tables free so I moved to an identical table one over to give the couple next to me a bit more space / privacy. Incredibly rude server came over and said she’d need to “check with one of the hosts if i was allowed to move”. All the tables around me were free (and remained free for the entire time we were there). She came back and without acknowledging the earlier conversation managed to clean the table in a fairly passive aggressive manner (who knew that was even possible!) The person who came to take our order drinks order was lovely. After chatting with my colleague for a bit I ordered food. It literally arrived in under 5 minutes but the poached eggs were stone cold. Decided not to complain in view of the attitude of the server to that point. My colleague ordered an orange juice that never turned up and had to be reordered. She had barely drunk it before the rude server came over with a bill and payment machine (unasked for) and asked us to settle the bill as the booking was over. We paid and as we were were preparing to go she came back over and told us she needed the table back now. Every table around us was empty and literally no-one was waiting to be seated. Shame as it’s a convenient place to meet but I won’t be going back.

Great place for a bottomless brunch at the weekend. Food was great, prosecco good value and service attentive and efficient. A nice atmosphere too: busy, buzzing but not uncomfortably so. We will be coming back!

Meal for two at lunchtime. Food, ambience and value for money really good. Our server was a bit pushy (too much suggestive selling) making us feel a little uncomfortable at having to repeat that we didn't want anything more than we'd ordered.

Great venue for breakfast , but high tables and bar stools don't make it comfortable . Slightly frustrated that we got asked to give up our table , for another booking - not what you expect at Breakfast time ?

Food was very good!! Very impressed! Staff were friendly and had great chat for her first shift! We unfortunately were by a noisy table but other than that, great experience and will be back.

Unfortunately, some of the food wasn’t great, especially the Caesar salad. We ordered some coffees which were undrinkable, especially the chia latte, which was a real shame.

We were served by a lady who seemed extremely stressed and overwhelmed - we asked her if she was ok as it was obvious she was struggling. We ordered our food and said we wanted the bottomless prosecco, unfortunately, the food arrived but we hadn't even been served out first glass of prosecco and 15 minutes had passed (which we were paying for). We reminded our server that we still hadn't received prosecco, to which she didn't respond but ran off, so we assumed she was going to get us some glasses - unfortunately, another 10 minutes passed and still no prosecco - by this point we were almost half way through our food too, which was not ideal. Our server eventually came with glasses and some prosecco and said she'd add 10 minutes of time to our brunch (despite waiting half an hour by this point for 1 glass of prosecco) - but we accepted and thanked her. Each time she came to refill us, she'd pour the prosecco so chaotically it would splash my friend every time, soak the table, fill the condiment pots of ketchup and mayonnaise with prosecco, to the point we couldn't use them. We gave her this feedback nicely as my friend was visibly wet, and rather than apologise she ran off and threw a pile of tissues on top of the table onto our food plates. We did tell the manager about this experience when we were coming to the end of our brunch, who did sincerely apologise and offer us another glass of prosecco each. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience - I had really high hopes, as the reviews were excellent and the location was perfect as we'd both travelled from Brighton for the day. Any compensation/acknowledgement of this review would be much appreciated.

First time...it was INCREDIBLE TASTY. Service was fast and food heavenly, fresh, crisp and with so much flawours. Warm recomendation.

Good ambience, great food and drink options, super friendly staff. The only negative for me was that the restaurant comfort room was not clean and it didn’t have a hook to hang a handbag or coat on the back of the door.

If you are looking to go somewhere with a baby, this place is NOT baby friendly. This restaurant does not have a changing facility. This resulted in changing my baby on the concrete floor of a single cubicle toilet in a VERY hot restaurant. Server's were very nice, and food was decent. Would not visit again with a baby however.

A great place near a London Bridge to have a quick lunch between appointments. A wide choice of food and soft drinks. If it has not been lunchtime I would have had a glass of wine. I don’t know whether they were short staffed as the service was a little slow; especially getting the bill.

i’m talking about the milano airport malpensa one. The manager was disrespectful and he started lying him and his colleague. they didn’t want to give us a four people table just because we were only three, we needed a seat to put 6 bags while we would be eating. Once we were seated, One of the managers came and told us not to, telling us to take a baby seat to put SIX BAGS !!! we then wanted to talk to another manager and he told us there was no one else exept him, we later on spotted another manager , we kindly explained him the situation while the first manager was talking to him in another language. He laughed at us 2 times and the second manager was defending his colleague without letting us talk. we asked for an email address to write down a complaint, he told us there was no phone number and no email address when well, there’s even a place where to write feedbacks. I have videos as proofs and we exactly know which one they are. the first manager, at the end started being provocative toward me as if he wanted to fight. when we left he made a disrespectful “ bye bye “ sign. Terrible experience for such a restaurant.

The decor is nice and the service was reasonable - it is a chain restaurant so nothing spectacular. However, the food was poor - cold meat, hard pitta bread and small portions. There is a lot of choice in this area and you can do much better. I wouldn’t return or recommend this restaurant.

Service was disaster food is rubbish and cold I dont think the chef knows what is Lebanese food. not even a single person is Lebanese in this restuarant. Wine was ok Beirut beer has no taste.

We were waiting for ten minutes. The waiters saw us and ignored us because we were only two people. This isn’t the first time that this happened. As we were walking out complaining of the terrible service, an Afro-Caribbean waiter who was serving outside was shouting at us and following us. This really scared us. This was on Monday around lunchtime. Unfortunately, will never come here again due to poor service. I’ve tried their food before and it’s acceptable however their service really needs to improve.

I popped into the Tooley Street Branch yesterday, as I wanted to order some food to be collected for an office party this evening.. The Manager insisted on delivering our order to our office and was very helpful with choosing our menu to cater for 18 people. The delivery came on time this evening and was very seamless. They brought it in crates and delivered the wonderfully presented food. They even laid it all out on the table for us. I cannot recommend this place enough, the food was amazing and loved by all and the service was second to none, which is quite a rarity these days. Many thanks again to the team at London Bridge and we look forward to dining with you again very soon.

Have walked past here many times but never had the occasion to stop. Was greeted by a friendly lady from Croatia with a charming accent. Food was very good, mains of halloumi and lamb kofta washed down with a Lebanese dry white. Would return next time in this area.

We had pre-booked this restaurant having had previous recommendations. Our teens are quite adventurous eaters in general and do like tapas/mezze style but hadn’t specifically tried N African food before. We were seated and orders taken quickly. We had a platter starter alongside some chicken wings and batata harra - all good. We had a range of mains including grilled meat and fish and all enjoyed our meals. The only slight negative was an over-confident young male waiter who didn’t write down our order and forgot one thing - this was quickly remedied when we asked another member of staff. We would definitely come to Comptoir Libanais again - a good and interesting range of food, a casual dining atmosphere and suited our needs well.

Our order was taken promptly enough, but the drinks never arrived. First one meal, then another finally arrived, but still no drinks. The waiter seemed perplexed but found them…waiting somewhere, I guess, because they arrived quickly once he went to look. I kinda wished he hadn’t found them. My Aperol spritz tasted like a very expensive Sprite with a healthy dash of bitters—if there was any alcohol at all in there, I couldn’t tell. Having enjoyed good Aperol spritzes in many restaurants and countries as well as my own home, I’m mystified as to how it’s possible to mess one up except with really inferior ingredients. But that was better than the chicken tagine, which was rubbery chicken apparently microwaved with some kind of cheap cooking sauce. There was none of the complex spice profile and tenderness one usually associates with tagines. We never saw any waitstaff again once the food and drinks had been plonked down. No one cared whether we needed anything, were enjoying our food, would like some water or dessert. I had to track someone down to get the bill. What was supposed to be an enjoyable last meal in London was pretty joyless. Definitely off our list for our next visit.
