The best restaurants in Lewisham London

Went here for a nice little impromptu meal on a Saturday evening and was pleasantly surprised. The venue itself is really nicely decorated and as we got there, it was clearly a popular choice as almost every table was taken. Like many of the other reviews here there are some issues, the service is incredibly slow and I could see that if you're not patient how this can be annoying. Drinks took too long (they even made our drinks and forgot to deliver them from the bar to the table) it took a long time from when we were seated initially to take our order (probably 15mins) and the food came out in bits rather than all together. One main (vegan) took almost 30 mins to arrive, when all other food items were delivered. Which didn't make sense. That being said the food was tasty and although the service was slow the servers were friendly and warm. There was a nice drinks selection including cocktails with some coming out in really fancy glasses. I would really love to give this place 5 stars but they just need to tweak a few things to make it a real hidden gem. Definitely will be coming back and recommending this place to others!

We had an amazing evening at Deptford Winemakers last night. Great wine list with really interesting choices available by the glass - I loved my glass of orange wine. The food was excellent and almost everything was gluten free. Lots of lovely small plates and an amazing chocolate nemesis for pudding. Lovely decor with a beautiful old bar. Will definitely be coming back !

This was my fourth meal at Sajee restaurant. As a Sri Lankan, the food tasted honestly beyond the limit and felt homey. The best taste ever comes from the deliciously cooked ingredients and spices. The price is also very reasonable and I can't complain about it. The most important aspect of this restaurant is the friendly and caring staff, from the Chefs to the waitress especially Sajini, she remembers all your preferences and can offer the right choice of a meal if you're not certain of any dishes. Besides, it's a must to try her Masala tea, which she makes and serves herself. She suggested and invited me to come over on Friday before 5pm for an enticing meal that includes freshly cooked vegetables. I will definitely visit again..

Brillante restaurante local que sirve la calidad de la comida que se espera en la ciudad. Los vinos son excepcionales, la comida es muy buena. El menú cambia regularmente, lo cual es genial y el personal es brillante. Nuestro favorito.

Recibo unos 50 mensajes al año de diferentes números con variaciones de masa loca como nombre después de usar a estos chicos literalmente una vez. Bloquear/darse de baja de uno y enviar desde un número/nombre diferente. No vale la pena para la pizza mediocre y como que sugiere una falta general de respeto por el cliente en cómo dirigen su negocio.

Great pub. Was welcomed by a barman with dark hair and thick accent (Welsh?) and was treated to a great evening in what is a very traditional pub. Very mixed crowd. Lots of families, couples and mates out for a drink which shows the broad appeal.

The food was ok, slightly above average. Great presentation, fresh and tasty. However, my concern since I visited it twice is the handling of meats. Both times, they were not good as expected. Having 4 cooks and possibly a chef in the kitchen... it should be outstanding food-wise, it is just above average.

I ordered 2 hours before my chosen delivery time yesterday. The order was 25 minutes late. The pancake rolls were lacking in flavour although still enjoyable, perhaps seasoning? My curry was like water and not enjoyable and lacking in flavour. Overall I was disappointed as normally it’s great food. Perhaps they have a new chef. I will now think twice about ordering again which is a shame as was the better takeaway in my area.

Decir que el personal era antipático sería una exageración. Hablaron duramente con mis hijos pequeños por simplemente tocar la nevera de helado mientras elegían un sabor. Luego, después de que nos dijeron que "no había conos", nos conformamos con tazas, solo para ver a una familia británica blanca salir momentos después, lamiendo felizmente su helado cubierto con conos. Nunca me he sentido tan discriminada en mi vida.

On the 26.09.21 i was inside the club for little over a hour and asked for permission to leave which was authorised by one of the security team as I came back another security worker who was black and short in height with a low fade haircut approached my friend from behind around the neck area, and manhandled her and dragged her cup out of her hand with no verbal communication, that something was wrong I was absolutely shocked. I have never seen such a horrid action take place in such a way. I was speechless initially he then turned his attention to me shouting I’m no longer getting inside the club and as I tried to understand why and under what grounds he continued to go back and forth with no explanation as to why however bragging about his “£50k salary” and that I should put “£50k food on the the table for his kids” The verbal abuse and embarrassment was completely uncalled for and out of order. So unprofessional and disgusting behaviour. I don’t usually write reviews however I just want to give the heads up for the next female target he may choose at the Interludee Cocktail Bar.

Hemos estado comiendo en la Casa de la Luz desde que abrió. Todas nuestras tardes ha sido genial. Somos locales y el hecho de que el menú cambie regularmente sin disminuir la alta calidad de la comida servida es extremadamente importante. El personal es amable y el servicio es excelente. Lo recomendaría ampliamente, desde una cena informal para dos a una comida especial de occaison (hemos tenido muchas celebraciones de cumpleaños a lo largo de los años). Uno de los mejores restaurantes de Wimbledon.

Nos fuimos a dar un paseo esta tarde y dando vueltas por el pub en busca de comida a un precio razonable. Tuve la hamburguesa (que viene con cebollas asadas con rojas y pimientos rojos y pesto) de el halloumi a la con una orden de patatas fritas y mi marido decidió combinar los principiantes y a los lados y tenía morralla de crujientes rústicas con patatas fritas y ensalada. Nuestras dos comidas juntos cuestan un total de 20 libras y una pinta de coca cola Light era £2.50 , muy razonable para la zona.

Take away on a Wednesday. Swift friendly service from a Maestro! Delicious fresh fish in a super light crispy batter, crisp fluffy chips. The finest we have found since moving to SE London 14 years ago.

Muffin Break serves good coffee, the Americanos are great, get an extra big cup. They also have vegan muffins and gluten free cakes. The service is obliging. It's a great place for an afternoon coffee and cake.
