Great pub. Was welcomed by a barman with dark hair and thick accent (Welsh?) and was treated to a great evening in what is a very traditional pub. Very mixed crowd. Lots of families, couples and mates out for a drink which shows the broad appeal.

Dacre Arms are the proud sponsors of my football team. The staff here regularly attend our matches, and accommodate/put up with us every weekend post match. Great pub with great staff, always recommend!

This pub has retained traditional aesthetics and has real character. By its cover, it should be a fantastic watering hole. Unfortunately it seems that prejudice has infiltrated its ranks and it is no longer welcoming nor safe for young people, people of colour, queer folk and allies. I am a stark defender of independent and unique pubs as a resistance against the growing homogeny of the ‘global standard pub’ and as a result seek out these sorts of places, but I will not be returning to the Dacre Arms and I will be warning people about its nature. Arriving at the pub, I was welcomed by an aggressive bartender equipped with a stream of incoherent rambling about ‘ the lefty wokey agenda.’ It was clear that he had identified me as an ‘other’ and was using the opportunity to express his distaste towards an imaginary political sect that seems to be being crystallised in so many peoples heads at the moment. Sitting down to read my book I was mocked by the bartender for reading. I pretended not to hear/see. Roughly 10 minutes go by, my reading interrupted racist and homophobic mumblings. My friend arrives, another young person, who just so happened to have a butterfly amongst other decorations embroidered on his trousers. In full sight and earshot of everyone, a local made his feelings known about the ‘state of the next generation.’ We hurriedly slurped our drinks in order to leave at the soonest possible moment. It is with sadness that I say that another pub has gone down the drainpipe, an opinion that is backed up by other reviews here. Gone the same way other shiny, gilded, monocultured, and hyper-capitalistic venues have done, albeit in a different form. If you are reading this, please consider your prejudices and how they affect the way you interact with others. We are all dealing with corporate cultural takeover together and a clear way to cope with it is to build communities rather than break them up further. With sadness, and care, L

There was a couple of young men in the beer garden at the same time as us. They were clearly taken by the place, so stopped by the bar as they were leaving to ask about the possibility of booking the beer garden for an event – I was waiting to be served, so heard the conversation. The barman (an older guy with dark hair and a strong accent – maybe Irish) answered their questions. When they left, he turned to the folks sitting at the bar and loudly repeated what the two men had asked, while putting on in an overly camp accent (which neither of the men actually had). He then said to one of the men sitting at the bar (who he knew by name), while keeping up the stupid camp voice – “You should come to that, X – you’d look good in a pink shirt” I’ve never seen that sort of undistilled hate before, and wish I’d had the courage to challenge it. Instead, we left and won’t be back.

Situated in the backstreets of Lewisham/Blackheath the Dacre arms characterises what used to be common place across the capital, but alas not as common as before. The sign across the fireplace reads Traditional London Pub for that is the type of pub it is. I went to see my friend play a folk session and it seemed a fitting venue. The atmosphere was really friendly, the beer was good and there was a lovely garden out the back. I didn't order the food. Worth a visit if you are in the area and fancy a traditional pub.

This is one of the few proper pubs left in SE London, it's full of the spectrum of locals you'd expect in SE London from builders, to professionals, to retirees. it has no frills, just decent beer, nice garden and staff that are 'unique' ina good way. Well worth a visit.

They have Totally Re Modeled this Lovely Pub while they were closed Mar-June 2020. They Added extra outside seating at the Front on the RH Side. They have Planted lots of Colourful Bedding Plants out the Back and spruced up the Rear Garden Area. This now becomes a very safe place to sit with lots of Space between seats. Makes it a Very Unusual and Picturesque Pub. The staff were Fantastic – and the ambience has really improved with the investment. They have a wide selection of Guest Ales. They have added a wide variety of Sandwiches to the Menu, but these are really a Full Plate with Copious Salad and Crisps and Loads of Choice on Salad Dressings - almost a meal in itself. We will definitely be visiting again as this was a really nice experience.

This pub is an amazing place. The staff are great the setting is fantastic and the beer is out of this world. They have also started serving sandwiches, but not just a sandwich. With it comes a great side salad and a serving of crisps. But the value for more is very good. They always have a great selection of real ales on and a nice selection of largers. An all round great local pub

A well hidden London gem. Homely, friendly and warm atmosphere for locals only. This is off the beaten track. Thank god. Sadly no food, but the beer is generally good with guest ales when the landlord remembers to bring them up from the cellar. Characterful and engaging staff and bar manager Jim, the latter a passionate supporter of a well known North London football team, make this pub a joy. But don't tell him I said it. Or mention the special one unless you want an hour of Irish wisdom!

🤬Arrived here with 2 of my close friends, one of which has a 7 month old child. It was a Saturday afternoon and there was about 15-20 people in the pub (including us). The baby stirred for a few minutes and we heard "will that child ever shut up" from the bar. It was from a probable 'regular' who was sitting at the end of the bar in full view of the bar man. Half an hour later when my friend took their child to the toilet, there was another moan about how we should sod off. After that we felt so uncomfortable we had no choice but to leave. I decided to furnish the barman as to why we were leaving and he claimed that he did not hear anything untoward. Turning away from the bar the same customer shouted after me 'it used to be a quiet pub until you lot arrived!!'. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

A really nice pub - a reminder of how pubs in the UK used to be. Comfy seating and a relaxed atmosphere, aided by the shape and size of the bar area, help you unwind. Friendly staff too. A little off the beaten path, and tucked away from the main road - but definitely worth popping in for a pint.

This is a great little pub, hidden in the side streets of Blackheath. And full of regulars. It is more like a traditional country pub than something you would expect to find in south east London.

Muffin Break serves good coffee, the Americanos are great, get an extra big cup. They also have vegan muffins and gluten free cakes. The service is obliging. It's a great place for an afternoon coffee and cake.
