Mez mangal in Lewisham

The food was ok, slightly above average. Great presentation, fresh and tasty. However, my concern since I visited it twice is the handling of meats. Both times, they were not good as expected. Having 4 cooks and possibly a chef in the kitchen... it should be outstanding food-wise, it is just above average.

My family and I visited the local Turkish restaurant on a quiet Tuesday night for dinner. My girlfriend and I have eaten here before and love Turkish cuisine so we’re looking forward to a pleasant evening. Unfortunately for the restaurant we were one of handful of patrons on the night and whilst the waiting staff were very pleasant and responsive, the main course took an inordinate time to arrive. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was over 50 minutes, and for a mixed grill and side salad with no other customers to serve we were disappointed. What was more disappointing was realising they had actually been cooking the food for over 50 minutes, because when it arrived it was charred, not the nice smoky char of a barbecue but the sort of char you might get in a crematorium. I think my mistake was to ask where our main course was because it appears the meat was all put on the grill at the same time and those poor chicken wings took some punishment indeed. I couldn’t in good conscience recommend this restaurant, there is a better one in Deptford.

We have been ordering from Mez Mangal for years, but never again after today. Ordered the one of the same items we get each week, the chicken shish wrap, and it turned up at less than half the size! I called the restaurant to complain, naturally. I ended up speaking with someone who claimed to be the chef, who attempted to convince me that they had changed the dish to include only half of the chicken for a lower price, about 3 months ago! What he didn’t realise was that I was on my Ubereats account and could check the price that I have paid every week for the last 3 months.. exactly the same price, no surprise. He was clearly lying. To add insult to injury, there was no bread, only half of the chips, and the wrap was soaking wet. I suspect that this is not a problem with the restaurant as a whole, but more of an issue with this particular person, for whatever reason. There was no interest in remedying the problem, besides asking me to put a note on my next order which he would honour with a free wrap! Unfortunately the trust has now disappeared and so I politely declined. I will however be following up with management to ensure that this is dealt with in the correct manner.

Restaurante simples, com atendentes simples, comida boa. Espaçoso e bastante razoável em termos de preços. Opções bem diversificadas. O humus com pão turco é ótimo. O falafel poderia ser melhor, mas é gostoso. A mussaka vegana é ótima.

I took my mum here for Mothering Sunday, we were a party of 5. On arrival the restaurant was fully packed, and smells were mouth watering. Even though the staff were so very busy they were attentive and we were seated very quickly. They took our drink request quickly but were a little slower taking our food order, but under the circumstances we understood. The wait once our food arrived was amazing, the food was full of flavour and perfectly cooked. They came over to check everything was to our liking.

Our client took us for lunch, and with the restaurant very quiet, I didn’t have high expectations. Within ten minutes I knew I was wrong. It was the moment when our complimentary starters arrived, with flatbread, hummus, taramasalata, Cicek and a whole cooked onion in a delicious sauce. For main courses, we had Meat Moussaka, chicken fillet, and lamb and chicken mix (2), all well-presented, tasteful and wholesome. The server was excellent and helpful and topped it all by giving us complimentary desserts too. With one drink each, our bill was £58.50, very reasonable for such excellent food and service.

We have been twice, had a varied selection from the menu, very impressed with the standard of food, and generous extras. It is a large nicely decorated room, set back from the road, wit good views from some of the windows. Service good!

Quite expensive; quality is good but kitchen and waitering lack basic understanding of food intolerance and therefore customer service. Attention to detail is important; when missing, you need to be honest and yet smart to keep your clients.

I went there with my family first time and the quality of the service and food was heaven. I recomend everyone Delicious And the bread basket was outstanding Defo be back

Great food, try the mixed Kebab and stuffed aubergine. Good service and reasonable price. Just perfect!

Our delivery was dreadful we did not even finish the meal. Chicken was tough stringy and greasy, grilled veg were burnt, felafel dry, selection of cold meze were in one large metal container and all mixed up together, portions were much smaller than from other places and the bread tasted stale and it had been masked with oil. Almost inedible! There are so many much better places to eat locally - AVOID!

Felt being watched all the time, perhaps for not being muslim, I paid the rather high price, quickly ate up and saw that got out there asap!

We had a meal here on a Saturday night. Service was great and the food was magnificent. The lamb chops are superb. Definitely recommended

Have visited twice now and the food has been excellent both times, plentiful, hot and good quality meat with delicious bread and salad to go with it. The selection of cold starters is lovely and we were offered complimentary baklava and Turkish delight, plus a lolly for our daughter the second time. The staff are friendly and service is efficient. Overall, an excellent place which is priced fairly, I just hope it survives as the location means that this particular place seems to change hands often. We will be back!

Today i just had a reunion in the New Cross area with my ex coworkers Went to this new turkish restaurant not far from Goldsmith University. Did not expect to be so welcomed and cozy. Food was excellent and the waiter offered us starters on the house and desert More than I expected

The food was amazing and full of flavour. They have a wide range of foods on their menu so your options are not limited. Their service was amazing as the waiters were very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
