Where are you guys? I came here today with my partner and you were closed. We were so sad. We LOVE your bread and moussaka. Let the world know you are open so I can come again.

Very low standard restaurant we went as a group of 6 the tables was greasy and sticky very slow service only one guy who was running the entire Restaurant. He hardly spoke any English half the things on the menu was crossed out the food was absolutely terrible it was pre cooked and luke warm. very bad tables service we had to get our own knives and forks he messed up our drink order looks very nice on the outside shame it has such bad management it could be a much nicer place if it was better managed perhaps the food standard agency should pay a visit would be very interesting to see what the out come of the inspection would be. Me and my friends are never going to return very disappointed

Terrible restaurant. I wouldn't feed the food here to a rat. Terrible service, only one person running the show. Terrible atmosphere, sticky tables, no paper towels left in the toilet. Boycott this place. Let it go out of business.

No Coca Cola? What is this? A North Korean restaurant?! A lot to say about this place, very underwhelming. There was only one waiter who was also the cleaner and the chef and everything else. Unacceptable to only have one guy doing everything: as soon as our group showed up, he was overwhelmed and merely warmed up pre made food. The lamb was alright but the chicken tasted funny and the microwaved rice was rock hard. The tables and menus were sticky with grease and the waiter barely spoke any English, messing up our order of sides and drinks. I feel like I’m piling a lot on the waiter, but the real culprit is the owner who let someone who barely speaks English do everything in such a large restaurant. Such a shame, because from the outside, it looks great with the lovely statues on the walls and the traditional Turkish look inside. A waste of potential.

Went there to celebrate Mother’s Day, and it was awful. There was heavy smoke all around, and the tables looked dirty. We left smelling awful!! Spent just under £70, and although the food was good, it was really not worth it. Cant believe it’s the same maze mangal of camberwell. The staff also tried to cheat my husband trying to charge us more. So sad we wasted our family treat and about the whole experience

Not good. Sadly playing two different types of music being brought the wrong wine and wrong food didn't do it for me. I can't recommend this place. Clearly used to do good quality but the latest reviews suggest other wise.

They charged us for bread that we never asked for without telling us there’s an extra charge. No one is there to serve us apart from bringing us the food, we had to ask three times for our bills, and the restaurant was completely empty. Food was ok, overpriced, no service or atmosphere whatsoever. Will not recommend!

DO NOT EAT HERE… THIS WAS AN ADULTS MEAL THAT COST ME £17. There was a hair in my started which I sent back and they said they would make another but by the time they listened to me they had brought me out another one which I refused to eat. Service was shocking they didn’t care at all and still asked for the money.

Went for a big family meal and they were very accommodating for such a big group! The food was decent, nothing to complain about but overall a good meal and decently priced! Thanks to the team for hosting us, we would definitely consider coming back!!

I went to this restaurant at the weekend and was really disappointed with the food and the service. About 60% of the dishes on the menu were unavailable, so the only thing that I could order as a vegetarian was the falafel plate. My partner ordered a shish kebab and a calamari starter. The falafel dish arrived before the starter and I couldn't believe how small it was - just four falafels on a plate served with a tiny smear of humus, a sad side salad (also very small) and about three pieces of flat bread. I paid £13.50 for that main and left feeling so hungry that I had to get another meal on the way home. My partner's shish was equally small and equally disappointing. I went to this place a few years ago and had a very different experience.

Awful experience no atmosphere no attention to clients no waiters. Food was very disappointing. Not what I’m used to with Turkish cuisine. Really looks dated inside, toilet had no hand towels or dryer so had to use my napkin to dry my hands. I was with a large group of people so our bill was not small , definitely not worth the money. Do yourself a favour and spend your money somewhere else.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant due to terrible service and poor quality of food.

Came here on a Friday night at 7pm with 5 friends . The waitress was sweet and attentive .the restaurant was completely empty, But still took 20mins for us to get drinks. I ordered the house special it came out cold I sent it back and they microwaved it. When I did Start eating it I realised the ingredients were very poor quality and food was wayyyy over priced for what it was . I have no idea how this place has 4 stars

Unfortunately this was rubbish. The food was OK but the service and wait was terrible. No atmosphere to speak of, more vibes in a crack den. Sounds like it used to be good but whoever owns it now just doesn't seem to care.

The biggest waste of money ever

Almost deserted on a Thursday evening: the uncommunicative sole waiter seemed surprised we wanted to eat there. Food passable but not great; service shambolic. There are many better places to eat in New Cross

Another 10 minutes passed and he appeared. My first choice was off, so I ordered another dish. We asked for some wine, again the guy did not have a wine menu, and he re-appeared with four bottles and no corkscrew. Our food arrived (which was average). Then the shock of the bill: £68 for two mediocre dishes and a bottle of wine. We noted that the wine was £30 (no wine menu shown to us) and the service charge £8. We disputed this as the service was non-existent. Paid £60 but will not be returning. Oh, and it is run by Eastern Europeans, not Turks.

Horrible service!! Food is good BUT ridiculous management. Used to be good with different people. They’re not Turkish anymore, waiters have no idea what they’re serving. They didn’t even know what was the total bill, he had to look up from the menu.

Ordered a vegetarian kebab dish and it had large chunks of meat in it which left us not trusting the chef. Tables and windows were empty extremely dirty and dusty, with ants and flies scattered.

Great food and atmosphere. Service outstanding. One of the best Turkish cuisines I have tasted globally through my travels. Well done guys.

Really disappointed The last time we came here ..almost a year ago we loved it ! Decided to go back and the vibe was different The food was much lower in quality. The chicken shish and adana should have been cooked longer and I could tell cheap cuts of meat were used. The rice was obviously microwaved as it was clumpy and not fresh as you would expect. We ended up leaving all the rice and mist of the chicken . The mixed cold meze was ok . bread basket was good . However when we ordered another basket it came as a smaller portion and didnt have the same herbs or oil on as the first batch. In consistent.

So much good food , just a shame the chef mucked up the time with the food ....the main arrived before we had finished the starters....had to ask for it to be taken away until we were ready, other than that the food was great.

Delicious fresh food and quite big portions. The waitress was lovely and attentive. It was a lovely find for us. Would definitely recommend!

I ordered a chicken shish and was persuaded to order something else similar, it was shish with onions and one mushroom, which we paid extra for. My partner ate one spoonful of his mousaka and left it the taste was awful and salty. We've eaten here a few times and never had any complaints. This time was very disappointing.

Where to even begin... Celebrating my birthday, took a group of 16 (my friends) guests to only have 1 waitress in the restaurant the whole night ! (You would think with a booking that large you would prepare enough staff. Due to this, poor woman was not even taking all my guest orders at once because of other people in the restaurant (that came in after us) She would get 4 if my guests order and go off to another table to get their orders. Then without getting the rest of my tables order go on to bring 9ut drinks and starters. Come back to my table collect another 4 orders and then go off to a new table to get theirs. (Insane !) (I felt really sorry for her) When the food was ordered, they were all coming at different times. 7/16 guest didnt even receive their order 1hr30mins later. (Fair enough i had some guests coming in late, but it was the late comers that were getting their food first and the ones who were there early were the ones waiting for ever) (my guess, they forgot to process the order) when my guest decide to cancel their food because they were yet to recieve it. We were told we still had to pay for it because it was " " cooking. Im turkish myself, with family who own their own restaurants and this was embarrassing for myself to witness and also to hear all my guest complaining and getting angry on what was meant to be a special occasion for me. The manager was blaming us for it rather than the lack of staff. And the bar women who came to help the 1 waitress at the end, even threatened to call the police, because we were refusing to pay for food that WE HADN'T even recieved let alone ate ??? They cancelled 1hr30mins after some of the other guest who recieved their food had finished and we had other reservations to get to. And only after all of us starting complaining altogether, and creating noise did the manager say "its fine, pay for what you ate" He did try to rectify the situation with a complimentary Wine as an apology. But after so much stress and unprofessional behaviour. I had to decline. We found hair in the food and the bar women try to say it was parsley ! She tried to tell me that I ate more than what i stated and when i asked her to check the CCTV to view how much and what i ate. She tried to tell me "you dont need to create a scene" she was just plain and simply ignorant ! The whole experience was just embarrassing ! Definitely will not be setting a foot back in there. And my other 15 guests agree.

New Cross visitors look no any further! This restaurant really surprised me! Lamb shashlik was amazing. Restaurant was kind enough to change rice to salad for me, as I don’t like carbs! Good size portion of meal even if you will go for smaller size, but I would recommend go for bigger size of grilled meat as it is really tasty. The Turkish grilled bread was out of this world, the best I ever had! Perfect seasoning. Meat was not salty, I think salt can be added, better less than more! Turkish red wine was surprisingly tasty, even it was cheapest one on the menu. The three dips served with bread was so good too. Most impressive thing was how my grilled meat was brought and served to me, it was still sizzled hot specially done, see video. Prices is okay too. Biggest thank you to my lovely waitress Ivet (sorry of spelling is incorrect) pretty young girl, with beautiful eyes, sweet, polite and very attentive. If I ever back to New Cross, i will certainly come back to this restaurant.

Salad was very small for 2 asked for another bowl and it came with frozen ice in the middle.. waiter was very pleasant. Would recommend salad would come with food on same plate and fresh. The restaurant it self was very lovely.

We were looking for a new place to try in new cross (should have read the reviews first!) first impressions was happy, the place had a nice atmosphere but that was it! Luckily we just ordered starters and not mains as the starters were enough for us to make a decision whether we wanted mains or not. However, all we ordered were hummus, “tzatziki” and lahmacun (all of which were disgusting) and a bottle of Yakut and it came to £42!!! We asked why it had come to that price and the waitress was rude and condescending! Safe to say we will never be coming back! Not worth it.

Originally we stopped by to ask if they serve any coke cola with their meals, bottle or cans, the sever simply said we needed to order something to get drinks, completely ignoring the first question we asked and he simply walked away, until one of the chefs had to come out and actually re-explain what the other guy had said, this time actually offering the menu to us first and handing it to us which the server didn’t even do after ignoring our first question, ended up to ignore this and try and order something as we were hungry, got three wraps, which in the end the vegetables inside didn’t taste fresh at all and the fries that came with the meal were soggy, overall I wouldn’t recommend as the main server is rude and the ingredients aren’t fresh.

I placed an order for a mixed grill kebab,which should contain a mix of Lamb and chicken Shish, c/m grilled 2pcs of chicken wings 2pcs of Ribs and Adana kebab meat served with rice and salad, however they sent me a container full of rice with 4pcs of chicken cubes with chunky tomatoes and chill peppers. When I called the restaurant to discuss the incorrect order the manager stated the the delivery driver must have stopped on route and ate the other parts of the order then proceeded to laugher then speak to his colleagues in his language, I asked what was funny he told me no one was laughing I then asked how they were honing to rectify this and was then told they were not going to. Sadly enough I had already been warned about this restaurant but i definitely like to be my own judge and I would never order from here again

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT This was a horrible experience! We hadn't even gotten into the restaurant yet one of the staff members was racist to us. He said "no, we don't want people like you here because you won't pay your bill", referencing the fact my friend and I are black. He gestured for us to leave, which we did because I refuse to argue or give money to a racist. It took me by surprise but I will never be eating there and I will make sure my friends and family don't eat there either. All we wanted was a nice meal after work but instead our Friday night was ruined.

Food and service were fantastic. We would definitely return if in the area again. One of the tastiest Turkish meals that we have had in the UK......... highly recommended

I ordered by uber. I get the worst food ever. There was chicken kebab instead of adana kebab😳. And the moment i opened it the smell of old chicken 🤢. I didn’t even taste it cause im sure i end up in hospital. Im disappointed cause this restaurant was my favourite years ago and tonight fir my birthday I thought i treat myself . Although the price was high(16.50) for mix kebab but if it was really kebab not chicken mince that was make sense. They charged me for what? I paid 21 pound for felafel which is iced in the middle??!!!. I understand you need to keep the felafel in freezer but when you get the order at least defroze it. I apload the adana kebab😵‍💫😵‍💫( chicken mince)

Have been coming here for years, and it's always been excellent, but when we went last week the food was exceptional. The portions are smaller than they were, but I was never able to finish them anyway and always took home a doggy bag. Highly recommended

The food was beyond terrible. I ordered vine leaves which were basically frozen from a packet. The lamb and chicken dishes had a smell and did not taste on par with any Turkish I have ever had, horrible service as it was very unhygienic especially the toilets. We were told we would get a discount which ended up being 10 pounds off a 100 order after sending back 3 dishes. Worst food ever.

The food was not at all on standards with a proper restaurant. It had a smell and a funny taste for lamb dishes especially, as well as not being what we ordered for one of the platters. The adana kebab was not like any adana kebab I ever had. The manager can watch on the cctv while we were having our meal. We returned multiple platters and did not receive a discount that is equivalent to that. We also did not finish any of our mains. Overall, it is a concern over health and safety.

I born and raise in Turkey. This was the worst lahmacun and sish kebab i have ever had. The photos in ubereats is not the same and also the taste of the kebab was awful. I am not thinking the order from here anymore.

Absolute SHOCKING SERVICE!! Curdled Cocktails didn't even know that was possible, FREEZING COLD FOOD! You pay £7.50 for kids meal £17.50 for adults and guess what ?? SAME SIZE! Calamari had NO taste! 1st turkish restaurant to serve bland tasting food, we ordered hot chocolate at the beginning with starters and received it at the end after meals should have been finished as we had to keep reminding staff about it otherwise we may still be waiting! Little black FLIES on our food and around us biting us at table! The only restaurant that was available on mothers day it really shows why! The ONLY tasting thing was the free bread. I wouldn't recommend dining here, the chefs blame everyone and we witnessed at member of staff being ill treated! Absolute horrid!

Reall great food and lovely staff. A few years ago this place used to be terrible and had a bad reputation but we recently retried it and we have been going back regularly ever since. Highly recommended

Just had a meal here and food was excellent!

Really disappointed from my visit. From time to time I ordered take away wraps, which are excellent and this time I decided to have a proper meal in the restaurant. We ordered a grill sea bass and a T-bone steak. The sea bass was overcooked and dry. As my T-bone steak, first I had to send it back as I asked for medium and it came well-done. The second serving was cooked as asked, but the meat was off and barely eatable. As a result, we barely touched the food. At 70 £ a pop it was an expensive dinner. On the plus side, the waiting staff was nice and understood ours concerns.

Asked us whether we wanted more Bread and charged us, asked for garlic sauce and charged us £1 for a squirt. Disguised the service charge as ‘tax’ and told us it couldn’t be taken off. Disgusting.

Visited here on 5th March. All I want to say is that I have never ever tasted bread like it. I'm not a massive bread eater but our friendly waiter brought us a complimentary bread basket 'OH MY GOODNESS'. I wanted to order loads and take it home. Absolutely delicious. The food was delicious. The staff are friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be visiting again.

The restaurant is furnished wanting to give the customer the impression of being in Turkey. The floor is very spacious and, as soon as we entered, a pleasant scent of incense has enveloped us, absolutely not annoying or disturbing during dinner. The place is clean (highly appreciated detail). The menu is varied but not huge, which is a plus. We started our dinner with an appetizer from the house, absolutely very appreciated and plentiful. The portions are very generous and abundant too. The quality of the ingredients is high and the taste is absolutely excellent. We felt very cared for by the staff who guided us in our choice. It is our first Turkish restaurant but the taste has absolutely convinced us. We will definitely go back and strongly recommend it. Thanks a lot to the whole team for a pleasant evening.

Great food amazing value! This review was from a year ago but I can't leave a new one but I've come back a year later and it was amazing again. I think that they have the best bread. We were served by Emira who was so friendly and helpful 😊

THOROUGHLY ENJOYED! Went with Vegan other half; so only ordered Vegetarian/Vegan food. All v.v.good! Loved the Aubergine in Tomato sauce; the Hoummus... And the Breads - hot out of oven, with selection of spicy sauces/yoghurts & salad. Friendly waitress too. RECOMMEND

When I visited here before lockdown food was good service was good, but this time service was good by the waitress but they didn’t have some of stuff we wanted. Ordered the special was not told they also did not have quail the meal came out without it and replaced for chicken Adana which I don’t even like. I love the onion and bread they used to give as a free starter now it’s a slice of onion to share between three grown men in the juice. When I ordered a delivery I paid for the onion and bread and it didn’t even come and that’s the main reason why I ordered, I forgot to mention it on my visit because they said they would give me one on my next order, I asked how come the onion is so small I was replied with the cost is quite high so had to reduce the size. It’s an onion we talking about lol. Lamb cubes was over cooked so inside was dry. The musaka tasted funny hardly and meat main carrot and potato. I’ve been in the food industry and this is what I call a business trying to make every penny and spend minimal. Pretty disappointed. I’m giving 3 starts as I’m hoping this is a rare thing but I got a feeling mez Mangal has lost its magic just like FM Mangal. Maybe staff has changer or something but was let down again.

Just my opinion, beautiful and spacious turkish restaurant to take friends or family too, the atmosphere is chilled and laid-back, nice and warm, staffs are friendly and down to earth to have a chat with, while you wait to be served your meal.

Was looking forward to visiting the establishment only to be served by a rude stuff (who was constantly on their phone and ignoring customers). Had to wait to be served even though there were only 1 other table with customers.. . Over priced food which doesn't meet match it's quality nor service. Definitely won't be going back.

One waitress on a Saturday night who was soooooooo rude! Always visit this place, was so shocked complaints left right and centre and was told by customers they had been waiting over a hour and half to get there food took 15mins just to get a menu where has the old team gone! We ended up leaving and going to another restaurant.

Terrible experience…. Don’t even bother going here. It used to be a great restaurant but must be under new management (if they even have a manager?!) After my 3 friends and I politely reminded the two waitresses (who were basically teenagers) that we had been waiting for water and food for the past 35 mins in a practically empty restaurant, they proceeded to ignore our request and went behind the bar and laughed at us. This continued the whole evening. We were not provided any forks to eat the meal, the chicken wasnt cooked properly and even the table behind us refused to pay for the food. We paid for the food but declined the service charge as the “service” was quite frankly appalling. The two girls were immature, had a real attitude problem and were completely unprofessional. Its such a shame as we are locals and used to love coming here for a midweek meal. Just goes to show what damage hiring the wrong staff can do. I dont think this restaurant will be open for much longer whilst its also being used as a youth club for the staff.

I just had a call from this place no introduction just asking if I made an order when I asked who is this the rude little girl hung up the phone. So I called back to tell her off for being so rude and the attitude in the voice was disgusting I have just recieved another call withholding the number when I answered it's the same background noise as the restaurant call 5 mins ago and then they hung up. I will NEVER use this restaurant again that silly little girl who answered the phone has no customer service skills and is damn right rude and has no manners. To the management you need to be careful who you employ to answer your phone as now you lost a customer

Had Set 1 menu for two. (Cold mix meze: sarma, Russian salad, humus, kisir, cacik, tarama salad. Chicken wings, lamb ribs, adana kofte, chicken and lamb shish, served with rice, chips salad and bread.) As can see in pictures we leaked the plate. As food was delicious 😋 but lots, we took home the left over. As to delicious to don't. Will returned!

First time here and was really pleased to have eaten here. It was very quiet as it was a Monday but also an area frequented by the local uni but as they are on summer break I guess that made it more quieter. The food was fantastic and hot. We are both veggies and had falafel andd hummus starter which came with a warm bread (delicious on its own) and a bowl of delicious dipping liquid. For the main we both had the veggie kebab which was aubergine/onion/peppers and mushroom in a tomato sauce (slightly spicy) and rice (one had fries). All in all it was a very delicious meal and the seviiws excellent. We will definitely be back again. Price including one alcoholic drink each was very reasonable at just £37.

One of the best Turkish restaurants around. The food is the absolutely amazing, friendly staff, a lot of space for sit in and at the front "garden". Ideal for large groups and families. The interior deserves a bit of update. Highly recommended.
