If you love the steamed-up windows of a traditional chippy on a cold evening, and a paper wrapper brimming with tasty chips, Cod upon Thames is for you. The staff are friendly and chatty, the fish is good, the chips are even better (or should that been even batter?), and it’s only the stark décor and brutalist interior that denies this little local treasure the full star rating. Maybe it's the oil, or the way they cut them, but the chips are plump and flavoursome. Burnished metal walls make it feel like you’re in a shipping container, and the counter is so high it’s only possible to glimpse the staff. But let’s focus on the food. It’s the usual mixture of bangers (some in batter), chicken, burgers and fish ‘n’ chips. Standard fish and chips is under seven quid, pies are £2.40, and you can get chip butties (£1.60), cheesy chips for £3 and standard chips – a good-sized portion – for £1.80. Extras include onion rings, mushy peas and baked beans, and Cod upon Thames also does pineapple fritters and curry sauce. Soft drinks are housed in a large fridge at the far end.

A Chicken Lover’s Dream! I recently visited this chicken shop, and I can confidently say it’s the best chicken I’ve ever had! From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a warm, friendly atmosphere, and the smell of freshly cooked chicken is simply irresistible. The menu is extensive, offering everything from perfectly crispy fried chicken to juicy grilled options that are packed with flavor. I tried the spicy wings, peri wrap, fillet burger, and they were phenomenal! The meat was tender and juicy, with just the right amount of seasoning and heat. The sides were just as impressive – the fries were golden and crispy. What sets this place apart is their attention to detail. Every piece of chicken tasted fresh, and it’s clear they use high-quality ingredients. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. If you’re a fan of chicken, this place is a must-visit! I’ll definitely be coming back (probably sooner than I should). Highly recommend to anyone craving the ultimate chicken experience!

I ordered food from Haweli. Big mistake! The staff member who delivered my order was extremely aggressive from the moment he arrived. Instead of taking a picture of the order being delivered to my door, he started taking pictures of me and filming me on his phone. After asking him to stop on numerous occasions, he made an excuse about needing to collate evidence of the delivery. He continued to record my voice and film me and not the delivery itself! . He made me extremely uncomfortable as he continued with his aggressive nature. . My neighbour heard the commotion and stepped out to help me and offered to call the police. At that point he ran off. I have my food but cannot even eat it due to being so upset about what has happened. I called the restaurant and they had no concern whatsoever, which in itself is very concerning!! Now i have some random man with my video in his phone and a restaurant that made excuses for him! I am absolutely disgusted!

Family run Cafe with an abundance of choice, friendly staff and owners too, Food cooked by 2 able chefs. They've been here a long time and have a raport with locals and those from afar too. Always clean and tidy and also cheap compared to other Kingston Cafe's

Terrible. There was nothing good about this meal. We had soup, a starter and two mains and everything was too horrible to eat.

This was my first and last time ordering from here! Disgraceful! All the Kebab was burnt, how do they expect me to eat this ???! The chips are hard as rock and over cooked to the max! When I called they said just do a complaint on just eat and you'll get your refund back! No apology nothing. Terrible service order was £40+ and that's what we get! Horrible! don't order from here!

Absolutely appalling service, we ordered a family pizza deal and paid cash on delivery around 7:30pm, even told the delivery driver to keep the change! At 10:30pm the delivery driver turned up knocking on our front door, waking our kids up, claiming we had not paid for the pizza! After calling them up, all we got was a sorry! We will never use them again...

My daughter and I were out shopping and stopped here for a quick lunch. She is a vegan turned vegetarian, so appreciated their food. I had the halloumi wrap. It was tasty, but not enough for lunch as I was a bit hungry. She had the impossible burger and enjoyed it quite a bit. She also got lemonade because she really likes the homemade lemonade here. It was quick service, fresh, tasty, and had a sit down area. There were toilets available but one of them didn’t lock.

Food looked really appetizing but only had a coffee which was delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Very busy, clearly popular.

AMAZING FOOD!!! absolutely fantastic service, fantastic communication and the food was so delicious. bossman even gave me free chocolates on delivery. 10/10
