Orient Flame in Kingston upon Thames

Terrible. There was nothing good about this meal. We had soup, a starter and two mains and everything was too horrible to eat.

Cockroach in the delivery bag. The chicken curry tasted like mayonaisse. Absolutely rotten. Another customer had a dish cloth in their food (as seen in the google reviews). REPORTED TO THE AUTHORITIES. This shop is rated 1 star for Hygiene by the way! More fool me for not checking. Take a look at Orient Flame on justeat though as they falsely advertise a 2 star hygiene rating. The only good thing to come out of it is that it has put me off food deliveries for good.

Im sorry to be so negative but this is beyond saving perhaps, but had takeaway from here not realising it was this location they seem to make all sorts of takeaway foods that are all just mixed together in the one kitchen and use a number of brands on the delivery apps, the food is very low quality and disappointing. There is a rather unpleasant smell when picking up so have tried to avoid but its tricky to know if you ordering from them or not.

Have ordered from here multiple times now and always enjoyed our order. Really tasty and good quality. Only issue is it’s a little pricey.

PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING SOMETHING HERE First time buying here and last. I will never buy more food here, this restaurant needs to be reported to the government for food inspection. The meat looks and tastes like spoiled meat, due to the interior quality of the meat and the smell, it is not good at all. I will have to open an inquiry with the food inspection department, as there is a food risk here and it will have to be stopped.

Food had a dishcloth in when arrived and was late and had to throw away

Absolutely the worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. Couldn’t get the basics like pancake rolls, prawn toast and hot and sour soup right. Couldn’t eat it and a waste of £50, btw this was allegedly BBQ ribs, more fat and bone than meat….embarrassing

Takeaway prices have inflated a lot since we last used this place. Delivery driver took 5 mins on the phone from ‘arriving’ to find us (address is simple) and when we eventually got our order to our flat, we’d been given a wrong dish despite ordering clearly on the phone. A stressful experience we won’t be repeating at this price I’m afraid.

Used to enjoy this place but it’s unpalatable now. Salty and definitely not fresh since the food arrived so soon after ordering! Don’t waste your money here and try something different instead.

I really like this place but I can’t go anymore because they have raised the curry sauce and sweet and sour sauce prices to £4.45 - this is way too expensive and now I will have to go to a different local Chinese.

Had a Deliveroo, was prompt and very nice. Very good flavours and the chow mien was nice. It turned up hot with the obligatory free cracker. I would recommend.

I ordered food off Deliveroo and when I was eating my egg fried rice there was two big pieces of egg shell when I called the restaurant and told them they said how can I help? And what is my problem? explained to them 4 times what the problem was and they still didn’t understand that there was an egg shell in my food worst food and worst customer service

Order was 35mins late and driver initially rude and then started abusing and threatening physical harm. Avoid at all costs and for your own safety. Spoke to restaurant but no response.

I was so scared after I'd searched up the restaurant on Google, having ordered from Uber Eats. Since the Google reviews were awful, I was expecting that things would be missing, or the food would be horrible. That was not the case AT ALL! The delivery was very quick, and took around 25-30 mins at most. The food was complete. They added utensils. All the viands were filled with meat, and everything arrived still hot. The food was very tasty, and we particularly loved the Sweet and Sour Chicken. We also had some Beef with Mushrooms, which was so juicy and soft. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

They don't deliver what you've ordered as other people have said, chicken balls isn't shredded chicken and they just point blank forgot the pork ribs :/

Really disappointing. The beef chop suey it was 4 pieces of beef floating on a very liquid red sauce and a ton of bean sprouts, nothing else. The wan to soup...I put it in the bin after the first spoonful, the wan ton were all gloomy and uncooked.....absolutely disgusting. The restaurant offered to redo the wan ton, which is was nice but It is 00:45 and still haven'thad my dinner. The beef has been put in the bin too...what a shame

This restaurant is fraudulent. A £29 order via Deliveroo never arrived. Deliveroo requested refund which Orient Flame declined. Raising dispute with American Express.

Apparently, they deliver pizza as well, under the name of "Bolzano Pizzeria." The worst pizza I have ever eaten. It was like I was eating plastic, I ordered calamari as well, and they had an unusual taste and smell. Everything is in the bin where it belongs! Horrible experience. Such a waste of money; avoid it at all costs. The staff were also very unprofessional when I called multiple times for updates about my order.

Ordered the fried squid in black bean sauce and the king prawn fried rice, they delivered the wrong order and when I called they said they will get me the right order. An hour past and I decided to call again and they told me they tried calling me many times and no one answered when that is simply not true, I had no missed calls on my phone and they blamed me and said it was my fault when I got the wrong order in the first place.

The member of the staff are very rude. I strongly recommend u to don't get anything from this "restaurant or pizzeria"

Ordered shredded chilli chicken and smoked shredded chicken from these clowns and they sent me something totally different. Chicken balls is not shredded. Ordered via Uber eats but will never use these people again they just send whatever they feel like instead of what you actually ordered. Food sucks as well.

Ordered pineapple fried rice and prawn green Thai curry tasted great together and quantity was so much able to eat my meal 3 times almost :) highly recommend to family and friends! Was good to know free delivery minimum 14 pounds spending

We ordered several times from here and never ever had a bad dish or disappointment. We love all the fried rice dishes, curry, sweet and sour, pad Thai! We often get fortune cookies too ☺️

Quick service, reasonably priced and decent selection of food. Open till late. Soups could be better, curry dishes and noodles are good..

Do not use these people they will rip you off, I ordered 2 rice with my order and they sent me everything but the rice and when I rang them up to let them try to correct it they sent me just the 1 and refused to send another call me a Liar too!! Just check the reviews here and that will say it all.

The worst food I've had delivered in a while. Ridiculous spare ribs - one was just fat and the other just dry meat, worst duck I've ever eaten. Everything smelled bad, other than the dried seaweed and the prawn toast. Had a try and the rest went in the bin. Sad.

I don't like leaving a bad review but we've just had a terrible takeaway. The ribs were just slabs of fat - we got meat off two of them and gave up on the rest. The pad thai was just cheap slices of reconstituted chicken and noodles in weird red gloop. Awful.

Food was absolutely delicious. Best Chinese in Kingston! I cannot recommend this place enough. Our new favourite

Was very much looking forward to the food but sorry to say all of the food tasted of cheap vegetable oil and salt. All in all a big disappointment and we won't be ordering from them again.

Sadly I have to write a negative view about this restaurant. I have genuinely tried to remain supportive, but the quality of the food has declined to an unacceptable standard. Before writing this, I did call the restaurant, who in fairness, did apologise for the quality of food sent out. What a shame. A great Chinese takeaway that has somehow lost its way. The only photo I'll post is the BBQ ribs supplied, but for the third time, the food quality of the entire order was totally unacceptable. Chicken in Black Bean sauce? Nope. Tasted like water. I hope they somehow return to the standards they used to set, but for now - there's too many other quality competitors.

Absolutely awful. So salty, no taste to anything apart from a shedload of salt. Spring rolls tasted of rotting vegetables and the whole lot went in the bin. Vile food.

Firstly the order came late, then we didn’t get the rice that we ordered they gave us noodles instead. And of course the noodles were completely burnt. The rest of the food was equally as awful the shredded chilli chicken and beef was slimy and flavourless, the soup was just bad and the seaweed was the best one and that was still mediocre. Don’t bother coming here spend your money elsewhere

The most horrible food I have ever taken away . No care had been put into preparation . Most of the things tasted awful!!! I am strongly recommend not to use their service .

I made a large order worth £100 last night which never arrived. I placed the order through deliveroo and was given an estimated delivery time of 20:55. This time came and went, we waited about 10 mins (understanding it was Chinese new year and therefore likely to be busy) but the order had still not left the restaurant. I called the restaurant probably once every 5 minutes for TWO HOURS and they did not once pick up. The line was either engaged, or it would ring and then be disconnected. I contacted deliveroo who are luckily able to arrange the refund however this is an absolute disgrace. The order was then surprisingly marked as "delivered" around 11pm. Deliveroo stated that the driver should call us and then leave the order outside. Obviously no such thing had happened. We searched the area around our flat and even checked the neighbouring front doors but nothing was there. So here we have a restaurant that is happy to take your money, lie to you about delivery time, and then lie again about the order being delivered. A customer representative from deliveroo tried to contact the restaurant following the supposed delivery however they had conveniently closed. I will not be ordering from this sham of an establishment again, and I will eagerly await a full refund from the restaurant. Absolutely shameful customer service, I would encourage others to take your business elsewhere.

Terrible experience. Unreliable as the food didn’t turn up and the restaurant was uncontactable as the phone was constantly engaged, must have been left off the hook. Would not recommend at all!

I am so upset taken my money my order is 45mins late and just seen it's been cancelled no explanation tried to call for last 30mins no one answering I now have no food no money to re order and no explanation or apology... will not be using again not good enough WRONG.. Update been calling now for an hour the resturant needs to address this now I am soooo cross

Absolutely horrendous. I feel sorry for the chefs as the food is fine, it’s the service and staff speaking to customers that are so shocking. My order had a whole 1/4 duck missing plus pancakes, vegetable and sauces. When I called to ask where it was, I was rudely told that it was ‘my fault’ for the missing items as I must not have selected the correct items (which I did, rechecked Just Eat receipt to confirm). If a restaurant messes up an order i’d at least expect them to admit the error was theirs, rather than blaming the customer who still has food missing. They’ve refused to provide me with my missing items or a refund, so watch out or they may try and scam you also! Stay away!

We ordered on New Year’s Eve at half 7 (allowed plenty of time before New Years as we was expecting it to be busy) but the order never turned up and they never answered our calls (they kept declining the calls). We stood outside our house and watched fireworks so we’re 100% certain it never arrived. The next day we phoned again and they didn’t seem to care and mentioned other customer’s food didn’t arrive that night either. They took the £45 and have still not refunded me. Was probably a good thing as I can’t imagine the food being good from a place with such appalling customer service.

I don't usually complain about food but this was absolutely terrible and a total waste of money. Beef covered in flour, fried and then soaked in sweet chilli sugar syrup. A prawn dish claiming to be Thai was nothing but pineapple, onions, sugar syrup and frozen prawn. Totally disgusting and I can't believe I wasted over £20 on this. Shame!

I am an Uber driver, I went to collect my the food delivery, the restaurant forgot to gave me the bottle of drink. I delivered my delivery and got a dislike from customer about the drink also the shop gave me a dislike is well which made my Uber rating low very. Very disappointed.

We used Orient Flame for the first time last Friday for a delivery. We ordered a family meal for two by phone, and selected ourtwo main courses. Delivery was on time, about 40 minutes. The food was very good, tasty and plentiful. It was not until we opened the main courses that we realised they were not what we ordered. It was too late to rectify, so we carried on with our meal. It could be that someone else had our order. Despite the wrong food being delivered, we will use Orient Flame again.

It took us 2hrs to get our food tonight. No apology or any compensation. Will not be using again!!

REALLY TERRIBLE food - absolute waste of money. Worst we have ever had - do not get food - from here! There was pineapple in everything. The green curry was not even green. When we complained they offered 50% of the next disgusting meal.

Guys it’s new management proper Chinese food now. So taste and fresh. You will love it’s. Even they have 15% off when you spend over £15 pound. Mostly students are well come for good collection discounts.

The food was full of eastern promise with wonderful tase a smell of the orient, the only thing that let it down was the takeaway menu was differant from the restaurant menu which had all the special dishes The dishes we had were great, next time we will visit the restaurant

Worst order ever. Thai curry had a desert spoon worth of chicken, calamari was half a cup full. Lime on the side of our dish was half rotten and spring onions in another dish was very much past sell by date. Sent it back. Stay away. To be fair they agreed to a refund but being diabetic and having already taken my insulin it made for a stressful time to prep something else to eat before i went hypo :-( As an added insult i had the phone hung up on me multiple times when i called to politely ask them to call me rather than ring the door bell and wake up my toddler. Horrible experience

Went to the resturant yesterday evening with a friend. Only two of us in the resturant. The food was hit and miss. The veg udon noodles and prawns in blanket were good. However, Kung Pau chicken was bland and tasteless (said very hot) on the menu. But the biggest problem with the resturant was bad service. Shame as it is Halal so we were really looking forward to it. Need to learn to spice things properly.

The food was good, and flavoursome. But it all was let down by 2 bones in my chicken Singapore Noodles. I almost swallowed one, so not pleasant.

The food was delivered quickly and was piping hot and delivery guy was really nice. However the food was in no way authentic Malaysian. We ordered the mee goreng, rendang, penang curry and thai green curry, and sadly none of it was great. There was a strong taste of chilli that hadn't been properly cooked and the amount of meat in portions was also very small. We did appreciated that they complied when we asked to make it extra spicy, all in all nice customer service however the food was not to our liking, or authentically Malaysian/Thai.

Food was on early which was good. Takeaway confirmed order. However food was realm poor quality. The soup did not taste like Tom yum. Was just tangy tomato water. Could not taste lemon grass or Chinese ginger. Pad thai was ok but too sweet. I ordered two different rice dishes but they looked and tasted exactly the same. Seemed to me and foamy it was the same dish except one co trainer had extra prawns. Spring onions were too hard and chicken wings were very bland and tasted uncooked.

STAY AWAY!!! If I could give it zero stars I would. Wrong order was delivered to us, the driver refused to come back and collect it and redeliver (never using ubereats again but that’s another story) so called the restaurant (hungry kids waiting!) and they redelivered. Food was cold, oily, smelt weird, rice was old so had a sort of hard consistency. Thai fish cakes looked ancient, reheated and tasted awful. Noodles were stodgy oily and tasted disgusting. £30...complete waste of money.

100% the best chinese food ! Every dish was perfect. Will be only getting our Chinese food from here in future.

Disappointed overall. Positive 1st was the chicken satay and grilled prawns. Both were lovely. Negatives were quarter duck was extremely dry and hard, Singapore noodles clumped all together and noodles not soft and pad Thai was very also clumped all together and very dry. Needed more moisture.

Food quality was poor and especially the shredded beef looked us was seating outside for few days and was put in microwave just before was sent. We were too scared to touch it. Noodles were very greasy and the rice dish was just rice in tomato sauce. I am sorry I had to write this but this was by far the worst food I had.

The lamb in the curry was beef. Not great tbh.
