The best restaurants in Highbury East Islington London

I have been using 129 HRD for a couple of seasons now . It is a great stopping point between Highbury and Islington Station and the Emirates Stadium . I have been there for both lunch and dinner and sometimes just for a quick drink after the game . The food is of a good standard and fairly priced - and they have a decent selection of wines . But the place is made by the service and the warm welcome by the manager and his team . Thank you !

This is a very nice casual local eatery on Highbury Corner. Our last visit followed a dog walk in Highbury Fields. We shared the halloumi fries which were great and then I had the beef taco and OH had the kebab. Everything was really tasty. A handy spot that provides good value,

The best coffee I have had since being back in England and I’ve been living off great coffee in Greece!! Thank you for the pleasant welcome I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Wish I lived closer!! Keep doing what you doing. Also love the dog biscuits!!!

My friend and I had a delicious meal at Mesi’s! We were the only people eating there (as it was a very early dinner) and Mesi treated us with such warmth. The food was all homemade and delicious cooked by Mesi herself! We felt so at home. I had a vegan dish and my friend has a meat dish. They were both great.

These are hands down the best croissants and pain au chocolat I have ever had. Yes, including France. The servers are so sweet and kind. Milk alternatives served.

Tuvimos una gran experiencia en Il Guscio. Fuimos un domingo por la noche después de un partido del Arsenal. El personal era amable y el servicio era bueno. La comida era muy buena. Pedimos una pizza y pasta de marisco entre nosotros. Tampoco podíamos fallar, con la pizza siendo particularmente sabrosa. Todos los alimentos y bebidas tenían precios competitivos. Sin duda volveremos.

Best sushi I’ve ever had in London in the <£50 price range. By a wide margin. It’s so difficult to find good sushi with *fresh* fish unless you go to crazy-expensive places like Nobu. Many places will taste good one night and terrible the following one. Their Tuna nigiri tasted just like the ones I ate in Japan. I hope they keep the same quality standard and affordable prices.

We visited recently and the food was simply delicious and everyone there was very helpful and accommodating. I look forward to visiting again soon!

BY FAR the best brunch place in London, not even close. The ‘Sawyers Brunch’ is so tasty, generous portions, and the space itself is so cosy and well decorated. Marco and Darren who run the place are 2 of the nicest people you’ll meet, both hilarious and so welcoming. Do not miss this place.

Great service 👏 10/10 Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. I bought a flat white for takeaway. So happy to see they use Bovaer Free milk. Freshways whole milk. I asked to see the milk they use and they just obliged. Ever so grateful. Coffee was great too. The cakes and brownies looked the best I've seen around the Holloway Road area. Especially the chocolate fudge peanut butter brownies. Thank you and keep up the great service and products.

Amazing whisky and beer master class with Moses. Was highly knowledgeable on all aspects of the masterclass. Highly recommend.

Was quite empty for a Thursday night but the food was mostly great, delicious ossobucco fritters and hisbi cabbage with a pear compote. The ox cheek was tender and had a great flavour just the puree with it did not compliment it well at all, Unreal dauphinoise potatoes. Chocolate mousse was average so would skip deserts next time.

Apareció cuando íbamos a un concierto en The Garage justo al lado Gran pequeño, relajado y auténtico restaurante italiano. La comida era a un precio razonable y el personal era encantador. Tuve el pollo con tomates, alcaparras y aceitunas que se sirvió con 4 tipos de verduras y papas fritas. Mi marido tomó lasaña. Ambas comidas estaban deliciosas y superaron nuestras expectativas.

Wonderful as ever. A wonderful find for that different dining out experience. Friendly welcome, coupled with a lovely lamb shank. Chocolate Mousse a must for a naughty end to the night. Will be back for another dinner when the opportunity arises.
