1st time trying this place and was not disappointed at all, from the starters to mains and drinks all were very tasty indeed. We had the pancake with chicken and prawns 😋 sticky chicken wings even more 😋 bbq pork salad with a crispy spring roll 😋 oyster mushrooms chicken with coconut rice 😋 and their homemade pineapple ginger lemon and honey tea 😋 The freshness and flavours of the all the dishes we ate was 10 out 10, good portion sizes and reasonably priced, especially the sticky chicken wings which was cooked to perfection freshly made, juicy and slightly crunchy, and had a lovely lil sweet n spicy sauce. Certainly be going back to try the other menu items.

We’ve been biking past Ninh’s for ages and finally popped in for dinner. The food was fantastic - we shared the traditional pancake with prawn and chicken which was very good, but the stars were definitely the wok fried flat noodles with beef and lemongrass with chili (we got it with chicken) - especially the lemongrass and chili. The flavours were fantastic! We asked for chili oil and were surprised by how fresh and delicious it was (not to mention spicy!). We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners at the end. Ninh’s is run by a husband and wife team. A gem of a restaurant that enriches the neighbourhood and leaves guests happy and full. I can’t wait to go back.

What a fantastic meal we all had, not a single thing wrong. There were numerous flavours and different dishes I have never tasted before, with the added bonus of great friendly and knowledgable staff. Can't wait to go back.

We went for lunch and were promptly seated. Service was attentive and discrete. My pho and the beef broth was divine. My wife's Bún Huế was excellent. The papaya salad was tasty and had a good crunch. The fried sea bream was cooked perfectly. To sum it up, we were not disappointed.

When Ninh's opened, I was upset because Au Lac was a restaurant I have been going to for over 30 years. Thankfully, the consistency has been maintained as a member of the family had bought the restaurant. I go here often, when I need some soulful food or before a game at the Arsenal. This is true Vietnamese food. Even after constant requests for sweet and sour chicken/pork, the restaurant will not put it on their menu as it isn't Vietnamese - well done in standing true to your nation's food!

Highly recommend for the authentic dishes, attentive service, and lovely setting. We enjoyed an appetizer of fried chicken wings that had a perfect crunch and sweet glaze. The bowls of pho, from the vegetarian with tofu to the meaty with brisket, were sublime in their flavorful broth. Overall a satisfying and wonderful experience!

Beautiful Vietnamese, I haven't had a fresh Pho like it in so long, and their curries are just melt in the mouth.

Fantastic food. A meal for 6 and we all enjoyed what we ordered. Great in every respect. Vietnamese Sticky Wings and Yellow Chicken Curry were excellent as were the summer rolls and Mongolian Lamb. So was all the rest too!

took myself out for dinner here and it was just go great! the staff is so sweet and the service is super quick. I got the Pho beef and chicken mix and it was just delicious. The broth was to die for and the perfect thing on a rainy night 🤭 the jasmine tea is probably the best i’ve had in a while and I just loved it !!! 10/10 recommend :)

Must try is Pork prawn spring rolls, summer rolls, sticky wings, papaya salad, vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and spring rolls, Pho rare beef !!!!

This place is a total gem. The ribs were the most amazing ribs I ever had. Perfect crunch, garlic and spices. The flavours are incredible. I live this well-priced place.

First time here since under new ownership and it was a pleasant experience. Modern dark interior and staff were attentive and polite. The spring rolls were made with rice paper which is good and the prawn summer rolls had egg, which in my (limited) experience, is uncommon. Pho broth was flavourful and of a good size too. Will be coming back.

Fantastic spot for Vietnamese food. Great atmosphere and incredibly attentive staff. Definitely will be returning for the Mongolian duck. Next time I might get the Pho though, portions looked very generous.

We were the first ones in today, and greeted by such a friendly member of staff who was lovely and helpful all the way through. We ordered a what we thought was enough for 4, but it was much more and probably could have fed another one or two. Delicious, so delicious. The vegetatian spring rolls were crispy and tasty. The Singapore noodles we shared so full of flavour and with a bit of heat. My chicken in blackbean sauce was great, as were my friends’ dishes of Mongolian lamb, Yellow Curry beef and Yellow Curry prawns. Pleasantly full and will definitely revisit even though it’s fairly far for me. Love this place!

Went here with my family, It's the best Vietnamese food I've had since going to Vietnam, and really authentic. We had had spring rolls, Bun with grilled Pork , Crepe with chicken and prawns and Pho … Staff really friendly and the restaurant has great vibes, highly recommend!

Bun Hue with sliced sirloin steak is the best. The soup tastes good and similar to the original taste in Vietnam. Will come back again.

Food at Ninh's was fantastic, amazing quality and generous portions. It's the best Vietnamese food I've had since going to Vietnam, and really authentic. We had had spring rolls, duck, and vermacelli noodles with prawns. Phil the waiter was really friendly and the restaurant has great vibes, highly recommend!

Delicious authentic Vietnamese food in London. Slightly pricey but worth it. We always order the spring rolls but the tofu and mushroom pho. The spicy noodle soup is also delicious.

What a gem! It’s quickly become my favourite local place to eat in the whole of Islington/Highbury/Holloway area. The most delicious pho I’ve ever had! On top of that, it’s cheaper than the alternatives around, the staff is lovely and the place is squeaking clean. It also has a lot of healthy looking plants :) Edit: I would also recommend crispy spring rolls, summer rolls and grilled pork with rice!

We had an incredible dining experience at Ninh's. The presentation of the food was exquisite, and the flavours were absolutely delightful. Every dish tasted incredibly fresh, especially the selection of vegetarian options we tried. My friend opted for the Beef Vermicelli and thoroughly enjoyed it. Allow us to highly recommend some must-try dishes: the Summer Rolls, Papaya Salad, Aromatic Mixed Vegetables with Pancakes, Vietnamese Shaking Mushrooms, and the Vermicelli Salads (both the Beef and Veg options). Ninh's is more than happy to accommodate any modifications you may desire, such as omitting the bean sprouts. The service at Ninh's is friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The interior of the restaurant is serene and spotlessly clean, providing a tranquil atmosphere. Whether you're dining with your partner or a group of friends, Ninh's is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the vibrant neighbourhood of Highbury.

Absolutely delicious, fresh food and the friendly service.

The food I ordered (the bùn) was very delicious. However, we sat down at 6:40 and didn’t receive the final dish until 7:50, having had to ask where the food was two or 3 times. 2 of us had finished our mains by the time the last person on our table got their food (20 minutes later). We cancelled an order for 2 mojitos as we were told they would take a while to make. I think this restaurant is focusing too much on takeaway, which is compromising the service for people eating in the restaurant.

This place is run by the charming couple who opened Q&T on Stroud Green Road which is still owned by them but now run by other people. We were big fans of Q&T so were keen to come here. The restaurant is much bigger, Q&T used to be a cafe, and the menu has been expanded too probably because of the bigger kitchen. We had an excellent meal with a very reasonably priced bottle of Gewürztraminer. The marinated mongolian lamb was delicious, we will try the duck next time we visit which will be quite soon I think.

Went here with my sister and my 1 year old. They were very helpful and got us a high chair (they have a wooden one which has its own tray to use if you’d like). We had the lemongrass and chilli chicken, jasmine rice, chicken papaya salad and a quarter duck pancakes. Everything was delicious. The salad was fresh and light, as was the lemongrass and chilli (I thought it was going to be more of a curry, but it’s more of a light stir fry with bean sprouts), and duck pancakes were… duck pancakes! Not that that means they weren’t good, but they were as expected. Meat was tender, generous amounts of onion and cucumber and enough pancakes for the amount of duck. We finished with red bean sesame balls which are just divine. Toasty hot and served with ice cream on the side, they’re a bit like doughnuts - but better in my opinion.

Absolutely delicious Vietnamese (best Bún Vegetarian Spring Rolls I’ve ever eaten!) and wonderful service.

What is the point of this restaurant? Until recently it was a wonderful and welcoming Vietnamese called Au Lac. It recently changed hands and seems to be run by people who hate their customers - rude, unwelcoming and can't wait to get rid of you. If you like to eat in a hostile atmosphere, this is the place for you. Ironically the food is actually better than it was at Au Lac, but whoever is working so hard in the kitchen is being badly let down by the management and waiting staff. This was a third visit under the new management and each time it has been the same.

Authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the area. Many food choices. I love their Pho, a perfect blend for me. Staffs were friendly and warm.

This is an excellent Vietnamese eatery and takeaway, with a lot of tasty options on the menu. Ninh's Vietnamese restaurant is definitely worth visiting for a satisfying night out. No doubt this family enterprise picks up a lot of traffic from its more illustrious neighbours, but it is worth experiencing in its own right. I enjoyed the aromatic crispy duck, the vegetarian spring rolls, and the Mongolian lamb.

One of the best Vietnamese food I have had in London!! Really nice and for our surprise, we ordered a dish with mushrooms and it had lots of mushroom. And the people there is lovely. We'll be back 100%

Lovely lovely people and great consistency in food and service with a smile. It is great to see them surviving and still going. I know how hard it is in this industry (I own a restaurant and cafe) So well done, I should have left a review a long time ago... top stars for yo!

I have been a couple of times to this vietnamese and I really like it! I always get the fresh coconut and ask to open it up at the end of the meal to eat the inside part. The food feels pretty healthy but very tasty at the same time, and they are quick and very friendly.

Ambient is very quite and relaxing, simple and very minimal good style. The waiters are very friendly, polite and professional. And the food... one of the best Vietnamese food I ever ate in Europe, for very reasonable price. I highly recommended, meanwhile I will keep on going there to try the whole menu!

Been eating here for around about 20 years - ordered last night, the chef has changed or is lace has changed hands… one of the two. Compared to last order I had from here the food was in stark contrast. Will not be ordering from here ever again. Had to give one star to leave review, but based on food I ordered last night I’d prefer to leave no star.

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant in Highbury. This was my first visit for a couple of years. It was as good as ever. We had the set menu. The mixed seafood platter was splendid: really fresh, tasty prawns and squid with salad. The second course of lamb, chicken, veg and rice was also beautifully cooked and tasty. The French house white is very palatable. The service is friendly and efficient. At under £70 for the two of us, including service, this is a great place to go. Highly recommended.

Hands down the best Vietnamese food in London. The pho mile in Hoxton has nothing on this place.

Absolutely amazing place. Au Lac is fast becoming my partner and I's favourite local takeaway. The food is delicious! Especially the rare beef Pho (great portion and brilliant taste), Bún (pork or honey chicken), the summer salad is a MUST and their caramel pork is so tender its mouth watering! Definitely try their food and you will not be disappointed!!! Also, remember to order from them over the phone directly (if you are close by) to help support their business! THEY WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!

Some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had outside of Vietnam. The meat selection platter was a perfect starter for our dining experience. A great selection of meats with everything perfectly cooked. Our mains were the Mongolian duck and special Pho. How they managed to get the duck so crispy and tender at the same time I don’t know lol. The Pho was also beautiful, you could just drink cups of the broth alone. With finished off the meal with the ice coffee which was great albeit too sweet for my partner and some sake which was the real stuff no doubt.

Even tho Emma looks unhappy here, it’s not because of the food (that was incredible) it’s because of the rain. The staff where so friendly they even offered to stand and hold an umbrella for us. Anyway, great local place and the food is always PHOnominal

OK, what to say about Au Lac... TL;DR - an enjoyable dine-in experience, but a big let down as takeaway. The long version - I've eaten in the restaurant a couple times and have found it to be a lovely experience, if a little pricey. This was my first time ordering takeaway from them. First of all, I think it's a serious statement of intent by them to be charging on average £9 per main dish, given that is a fair bit above the going rate for the area. When you decide to spend that sort of money on takeaway, you would naturally expect the quality of the food - both in terms of ingredients and overall enjoyment - to be better than the usual fare in the area. Unfortunately I am sad to report that I did not find this to be the case. On the whole the food was tasty, and I must commend them for getting the order to me early (a rare feat! But then it was a Monday night so perhaps a slow evening), but the simple fact is it just wasn't up to the standards that a £9 price tag demands. Flavours are, as per the restaurant eat-in experience, fairly authentic, so the flavour profile overall is a refreshing change from the typical samey taste you get at other eateries, however I was disappointed with more bland flavours from some dishes, and some dry, overcooked and gristly meat. I would expect a far better raw ingredient quality and cooking technique for the money. Specific notes - as other reviewers have mentioned, the chargrilled pork has a particularly delicious flavour, so that was delicious. I tried the mongolian duck - this was disappointing. The menu says 24h seasoned and medium rare meat, and I got bland, grey, overcooked and extremely chewy duck. The sauce was pleasant enough, but nothing to write home about. Same overcooked duck in their stir fried noodles. The biggest disappointment of all was the sizzling beef with ginger & spring onions; extremely tough, gristly beef, all chew no flavour, in a congealed, tasteless grey sauce. Very, very disappointing. The egg fried rice was tasty, thanks to the addition of an unusual savoury fruity flavour, however the portion size for £3 could have been more generous. So, overall, I think had I received this exact meal from any of the other cut & paste Asian takeaways around Islington/Holloway then I would have been overall pleasantly surprised, thanks to a few enjoyable flavour touches and a little extra 'freshness' to the palette, however at £8-£9.50 paid per dish I would not order again without some assurances from the restaurant that it was an off night, and perhaps even then would need to see those prices come down a pound or two across the board. A not altogether unpleasant (apart from the beef), but nevertheless expensive lesson learned. I would welcome reciprocation from the owners though and am happy to discuss further. PS From an eat-in experience, a couple more notes; the rare beef pho I found tasty and enormous, and don't order the Vietnamese coffee as it took them longer than it took to order, receive and then eat our meal before it arrived! (Ordered the coffee when we first sat down, tried to cancel it after having finished an enormous pho but they refused, and then it finally arrived just as we were ready to leave!)

Delicious curry on a quiet Monday's night

Ok, but left a bit to be desired. The hanoi fish flavour was good but very greasy. The summer rolls with prawns needed lots of fresh herbs and the prawns had been butterflied but not deveined
