Yida Sushi in Islington

Recommended. Found it online looking for a pre-Garage venue, very pleased I did. Great restaurant, Japanese classics (Sushi, sashimi, tempura) done very well and competitively priced. Hostess (owner?) was extremely hospitable. Can park outside after 7pm. A very enjoyable experience.

Outstanding quality sushi and teriyaki

Literally my favourite place to eat in Highbury, food is always incredible especially the various sushi rolls and hot dishes they have alongside the incredible front of house from Linda! It’s a husband and wife team and I’ve never had a single bad dish here in the many times I’ve visited!

Yida Sushi is one of the top sushi restaurants in London. Really fresh, top quality sushi and sashimi and brilliant friendly service by Lin the owner. We're regular customers but during the pandemic it was closed for renovations which made us look around but we found nothing to match the quality of the fish here. Gorgeous tempura and dynamite beef too. A hidden gem!

There's a lot of love and care behind this business. The food looks great and is simple and delicious. They have a beautiful, peaceful back garden, and their service is just incredible. We were served by who I think is the owner tonight - she made us feel like we were family. It was my girlfriend's birthday and they prepared a (delicious) cake, and candles and all (didn't have to ask). Please, visit this hidden jewel :-)

This is my secret spot! Yida sushi has the most caring staff who are really laid back and kind. The dishes are all delicious, beautifully presented, and great value for money. I especially love the tempura, agadashi tofu and the sushi sets. It’s a true hidden gem and I’m grateful to have it nearby. Being outside on the terrace is really nice in the summer and it’s cosy inside too! I am vegetarian, but everyone I go with says the fish is super fresh and the rice is perfect. I cannot recommend this enough ! 100%

As usual the food was to die for. The best sushis I have ever had. Antonin our waiter was super nice and very attentive. He made our evening on the cute little terrace even more pleasant.

This is the best sushi in London I’ve had so far. The yellowtail and tuna maki were so fresh and delicious. The salmon teriyaki is a must! Service is always polite and they have some seating on an outside terrace at the back.

One of my favourite regular north London spots, the sushi is always very well-made and tasty, and the service is warm, friendly and quick. The prices are an absolute steal for the quality of the sushi they serve. And anywhere that sells Sapporo has my seal of approval!

Just WOW! Delicious sushi dishes, beautifully presented. Special mention for the green bean salad, dressed in an incredible sauce. Hand rolls were very good and overall the food was reasonably priced for the area. Highly recommended.

The food was fantastic, and a fair price for the quality of the ingredients and presentation of the dishes. I had the Set Meal B of tuna and salmon sushi and nigiri, and the mixed shrimp and veg tempura. I’ve knocked a star off for service because there’s no menu, you have to scan a QR code and browse it on your phone. Personal pet hate of mine. (I’m no technophobe having worked in IT for over 30 years, but sometimes a sheet of paper is the correct medium.) Table service was excellent and friendly once the order was placed.

Amazing food and nice family own restaurant.

Hidden gem! Every dish from Yida was beautifully prepared and fresh. High quality sushi, sashimi and cooked dishes like tempura and agedashi tofu to name a few. There's a cute outdoor area which is nice to get some air in summer. Service is delightful and for Japanese cuisine which requires sushi grade fish and seafood, prices are very reasonable. Photos don't really do the food justice and because we were too busy tucking in, key dishes have not been captured...

A lovely place with caring owners and friendly waiters. The food was very nice but the tables seemed to be too close to each other and that’s why it was a bit loud. Other than that, a nice restaurant to have a dinner in, definitely recommend!

I was served a different sushi I had originally ordered and on the other sushi I ordered crispy onions were put on top of it, which were not mention on the menu. I’m allergic to onions so I found it out of order. Plus when I received the bill I was charged for what I originally ordered, which I did t get, that was more expensive than what I was given!

Love this place !! This is one of the best quality sushi I’ve had in London, and for very affordable prices too. The lady running the place and serving us the food was lovely and sweet, making sure we were having the best experience. Highly recommend to check it out, been there twice with my girlfriend now and it’s our go-to sushi spot in town.

Really pleasantly surprised as looks fairly unassuming! Scallop sushi roll and beef tataki salad were especially stand out. Will definitely be back.

Cosy little restaurant with beautiful veranda bit outside. Me and my friend shared Edamame, Chicken Gyoza, different Sushi and Tempura. I finished with a triplet of Mochi balls. I cannot praise the food more highly, it was absolutely delicious and probably the best sushi I've had in London so far. Friendly staff and a decent selection of drinks and vegetarian options rounded up our experience. I'll be back!

Came for a spontaneous dinner here and wasn't disappointed. Very nice service and the pork belly was to die for! It literally melts in the mouth! Chocolate fondant wasn't super special but not bad. Overall, I'd recommend this place 🙂

Amazing sushi and service, best sushi I've had in London at such a reasonable price!

I ordered salmon teriyaki takeaway from this restaurant. The salmon was nice but the portion of the whole meal was so small (child size) it definitely wasn't worth £14.50. I couldn't eat any of the vegetable's that came with it, they were undercooked and hard. I was also given the tiniest amount of rice which barely covered the bottom of the container, tasted like it was cooked in too much water and it was literally drenched in sauce. I'm still hungry. First and last time eating from this restaurant.

Have lived in the area for a long time and Yida is by far my favourite restaurant both for takeaway and eating in. Both delicious food for meat eaters and vegetarians, which is great. Always a real pleasure!!

This is such a great restaurant, the food is outstanding and the manager Leigh is lovely and loves our boys. It's a huge asset to the area. I've heard the rents might be going up in this area. If they do and this place goes it will be a disaster, the previous businesses always failed.

Sooooo much more than sushi... A local gem with a terrace... Wakame salad and Soft shell crab is my favourite

I booked a table for six on Friday 23rd April, they sent an email the day before to confirm my booking, however on the day, when we were calling them to change our booking fo 5 they were not answering. When we arrived at the restaurant it was completely gated up and closed. This was for a member of our party birthday and was really looking forward to sushi and now we had to find a place even to eat in the current climate on Friday at 6, the other household in our group had travelled from South London for this birthday so this is absolutely disgusting that they could not cancel before or any message whatsoever. Would not recommend to a friend and absolutely will not be returning. This is also an incident with Open Table too, they need to be taken off this app or checked because this completely through out the birthday plans and we ended up eating somewhere very very bad. Disgusted.

Seriously this is the best and most reasonably priced sushi restaurant in North London. It’s the first place I’m going to be going once it re-opens after lockdown!

I love sushi and sashimi and this place hits the spot. Unpretentious but fab.

Worst Japanese restaurant ever. All the raw fish looked unfresh and we were worried that we would get food poisoning. The sashimi was not cut properly that when you took one, others came together and fell off the plate. The sushi rolls looked worse than homemade and definitely were not made by professional chef. I suspect all the high ratings are paid ratings.

We have been going to yida (but especially ordering at home) for few years now since moving to the area. The food is always good (love the sashimi salad, tempura and yakitori) and the delivery guy is absolutely lovely! Always a treat!

Highly recommend this place! I dined in at the restaurant a year ago and recently ordered delivery. Both times the food was so fresh, flavoursome and really authentic. I had the california roll, tempura prawn roll, miso and the chicken gyozas. Already looking forward to my next Japanese fix!
