Amazing food and lovely place. Chicken was gorgeous, generous portions. We’ve already been twice in the last week since we discovered it!

A bowl of chicken which was so tender and flavourful, combined with the best chips I have had in years! Finished up with a delicious cappuccino. Loved it all!

Great chicken! So high quality, perfectly marinaded and well-loved with lip-smacking skin, and still managed to be juicy all the way through. The spiced fries absolutely banged, and salads were fresh and tasty (if a bit overpriced). The cheesy leeks were creamy and rich but definitely not cheesy-tasting, needed more cheddar-y tang. The only real let-down was the gravy. It’s a good consistency, but it’s light and pallid and totally over-rich with butter, which also completely flattens the taste to a strange cloying sweetness with a screech of harsh dill-y flavour that only makes it taste richer. The chicken’s actually better without it- I really hope they rework it and punch it up with some acid and umami-saltiness to make it sing, otherwise it just lets everything down!

Let’s get one thing out of the way - the food here is amazing. Some of the best roast chicken I have ever had; amazing roast potatoes; great gravy and interesting sides, including some nice specials. It’s slightly lacking in vibe though and often quiet- that may or may not be an issue for you, but it’s enough to just edge it to 4 stars rather than 5 stars for me. But a great little place and I wish it every success. Try it!

I ordered the half chicken and triple cooked chips. The chips were great but I had to send the chicken back as it wasn't cooked. My order was replaced with no fuss but the second attempt was tough and lacked flavour. Maybe an off day but overall pretty poor.

Headed this around 3pm so the restaurant was pretty quiet but that was good for us as we could talk normally without the crowds. I had the half chicken with 2 sides and it was a big portion! The chicken was succulent, juicy with a slight char on the skin (which I ate as it was so tasty) and I could easily have just eaten the chicken by itself as it didn't really need any extras. I liked the fries and the leeks & bacon in a bechamel sauce was very rich so I couldn't finish that and I was very nearly full. But I did have a bit of room for dessert! - a homemade apple and rhubarb crumble - very generous portion with 3 scoops of ice cream! My friend was sceptical initially as he thought an empty restaurant wasn't a good recommendation. But as he devoured the chicken, he changed his mind and said he would definitely come again! As you know a chicken is really tasty when you don't need anything with it. The waitress explained that the free ranged chicken has been brined for 24 hours and then the spices added for another 24 hours before it was rotiserried. It definitely makes a difference and was by far one of the best chickens I've ever had. So we were 2 very satisfied and full customers!. The service was swift and helpful. The prices are very reasonable for what you receive and the portions were very generous. Another visit is on the cards

I visited at the weekend. Seating was confortable and service was friendly. The dishes I ate, cheesy leek side in particular, would not have been out of place in a more expensive restaurant! I look forward to returning :)

4 of us went for dinner, got 2 chickens, really good rotisserie potatoes, ceasar salad, pesto greens, halloumi and a load of home made chips. Good selection of wines. It’s a brilliant place to go for a mid week meal, with really friendly staff. Highly recommended

I have ordered from the roost LDN 3 times now and each it’s surprised me how tasty it is. The chicken is really succulent and the selection of sides are amazing - broccoli is banging, the grilled aubergine is so good. I don’t know what they do to the chips but they are the best chips in the northern hemisphere & with the aoili Mayo 👌🏼

Now had two meals from Highbury’s newest chicken shop and have very much enjoyed them both - succulent chicken, tasty fries and delicious salads. The grilled aubergine is particularly good, and the cookies are great, too. Highly recommended.

Ordered the meal combo twice and it was so delicious both times! Got the 1/4 chicken, coleslaw, chips and herbed rice. The added cookies were such a treat, they taste better than any cookies you’d buy in a bakery!! The herbed chips are the best, and the sauces make the whole meal together.

Great food and terrific value for money. The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection and the salads and sauces were fresh and very tasty. It's a big cut above every other delivery food I've had. Looking forward to getting some more!

We ordered a whole rotisserie chicken with sides and sauces. The chicken was perfectly cooked and we had loads leftover for lunch the next day. Highly recommend
