I used to love this place but I can tell that there's been a change of staff. The flavours are no longer deep and rich. Whoever the old chef was bring him back!!

The food was quite average. I was excited to see a north Indian restaurant in the neighborhood but the name is quite misleading. The bhel puri was good, but the samosa chat, chhole bhature and masala chai were quite mediocre. The bhatura in particular was so thick, oily and over-fried. And the chhole preparation was definitely not north Indian. The restaurant had a quirky vibe with fun Bollywood posters and music, but they need to improve their menu and food. It's also quite expensive compared to some of the other more authentic Indian restaurants in north London.

I really liked this place, it’s a lil vibe💫. The food taste SO good! I came with a group of 4 others and it’s safe to say we all really enjoyed the flavours and spices. The service was swift but I did have a bit of a “meh” experience when wanting to pay. Having to repeat myself about the fact we’re paying separately, again just meh🫠. At the back a doorbell rings which can be quite annoying so beware of that. Although annoying, that’s to alert them to come and get the food and they bring it LITERALLY still sizzling🤤🤤🤤 . The lights are dim so although sitting near others, it makes it intimate to you and whomever you sit with✨🌟

Fine food located on a good street of fine food. The meal we had was spot on as advertised — good lamb (not great, but good), and a good starter. I’d probably try other places nearby first, but it was good.

We all had 3 different main meals and all 3 dishes had far too much hot curry powder added. I am a frequent eater of Indian food and some Indian restaurants do not understand the difference between spicy and everything burning hot. This is one of them

Please don't judge Indian cuisine based on what you eat here. Whether you liked or hated the food, take our word, you have tasted barely 10% of the virtues of Indian food - preparation techniques, balance of spices, freshness of produce, and the mouthfeel. The naans and samosas are store bought (of the frozen variety), the chicken is dry and flavourless, and the only good thing about the chutneys is that they provide some moisture to the husk that is their chicken. Sometimes, we should listen to our instincts and act upon them. Had we done that, we would have stopped at the appetisers and walked to the McDonald's across the street. Since we didn't act on our instincts - my wife ended up with a stomachache that she still finds to be a better experience than gnawing at their grilled chicken. As for me, I compare our experience here to the time we lost two expensive umbrellas a couple of hours after purchasing them. I think those umbrellas had a better value for money that the entire meal for two at Delhi Grill.

I made the mistake of asking a waiter about the quantity of one of the dishes we’d ordered and got an aggressive slap down comment telling me to “read the menu”. It was true that I had missed that there were two items not one so all was well but I didn’t deserve the dressing down. Judging by the demeanour of the individual he clearly shouldn’t be in a customer facing position. Overall the food was fine but it’s hard to recommend based on the overall experience.

It was a mediocre Indian restaurant run by an all Bangladeshi staff. So a person with a good palate and observation would notice that right away. I visited this restaurant as it was one of best Indian recommendations in TimeOut. However, I was disappointed. It was an average Indian restaurant in London but definitely not one of the best as TimeOut says. For a person with no experience of the real flavours of North Indian food, this might impress them but I found the flavours and textures not quite there in this restaurant. The menu was pleasantly a short one, giving one an impression the restaurant specialises in food from a certain part of India. However, if the chefs aren’t able to reproduce the flavours and textures of North Indian food, of which they are supposed to be experts, I will seriously doubt the origins and skills of the chef. We ordered cocktails which were just ok. For food we ordered pav bhaji, fish fry, chicken curry and chilli prawns. All of them were just mediocre and the dishes did not taste as they were supposed to.

Visit date 14/09/2023 Couple of things horribly wrong with this place: 1. Not authentic - neither the food nor the people had anything to do with Delhi in a place called Delhi Grill. The bhatura (fried bread) was not at all what it should be. It was literally fried bread without any flavor. I told the staff and they simply shrugged it off which brings me to the second point. 2. Unfriendly staff - the person who greeted me had one of the unfriendliest auras ever. Didn't even smile, even a fake one. Just seated me wherever without even asking if I was okay with it. The restaurant was absolutely empty, thus it was not about limited seating. I told him that I will wait for a friend. Still, I ordered something before my friend arrived as a courtesy. And even then, he kept hovering on my table and asking me if my friend is coming. It made me feel uncomfortable and strange. 3. Continuing from the above, after we paid the bill, we sat there for a few minutes as I started to feel unwell. May or may not be food related but I just felt squeamish. The person in point 2 started hovering over again and started giving me side eye to leave the place. The restaurant was still quite empty with only three tables full. They had manyyy tables open. Yet this guy wanted us to dash out ASAP. Bad food is one thing but this is just plain rude. A truly bad experience on all counts. I don't quite understand how it's rated 4.3. May be by people who have not had Indian food or think that these rude exchanges with the staff are some cultural eccentricities. These are definitely not. No thanks. Never going again.

The atmosphere was okay. Only good thing about the food was the naan bread. The chicken tikka from the starter menu tasted a little bit like a fridge. The spiced butter chicken was not appetising. It tasted like spicy melted butter and not in a good way. The chicken biriyani was bland. All the forks were bent and crooked, making it difficult to pick up food. When I request a normal fork from a member of staff their response was “all our forks are bent and like this”. I felt like I had wasted my money on disappointing food.

"This Indian restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I entered, the ambiance felt cozy and comfortable. The staff was incredibly attentive and made fantastic recommendations. We decided to try their chef's specials, and it was a brilliant choice. The unique blend of spices and ingredients resulted in a symphony of flavors. The biryani was fragrant and packed with succulent pieces of meat. The desserts were equally impressive, leaving us with sweet memories to cherish. This restaurant has earned a permanent spot on my list of favorites.

My family and I recently dined at this Indian restaurant to have an authentic experience with Indian cuisine. However, we were initially confused by the paper menu given to us, which we thought had separate menus for drinks and food. We were corrected by the waiter, who turned the page down as we read. At the same time I was reading, he interrupted me to turn the page. We encountered impatience from the waiter while ordering our food. When we showed him a dish from the restaurant's Instagram page, he told us to Google the dish instead of using Instagram. My mother wanted the creamy chicken tikka, but there were two options. He explained the difference unnecessarily by asking: do you know the difference between Coca-Cola and Diet Coke? Even though my mother already knew the difference and genuinely wanted to ensure she was ordering the suitable dish. As we chose the bread, the waiter recommended the garlic and spice bread. However, I preferred plain garlic bread without seasoning, which he initially said they didn't have. Later, he revealed that they did have non-spicy garlic bread. Lastly, we asked for plain rice instead of pilau rice, but the waiter insisted we should have the latter, saying that plain rice was the same as what we had at home. Although we felt uncomfortable throughout the experience and witnessed the same rude behaviour towards another couple, we stayed and found the food excellent.

Visited this place yesterday and the customer service is EXTREMELY rude. If you want to maintain a restaurant, understand that customer service is very important- specially the short guy in blue t shirt with less hair- he was being very polite with others but was being rude to INDIAN people(racial discrimination), despite being an “Indian Restaurant “- shows your mentality. Coming to food, starters were alright, but we ordered dal- it was tooo bland😃what’s the point if you can’t even get a simple dal right. Other curries were alright and ghosh was good. But I am sure I am never gonna come back because of the rude customer service.

Overall comments: This place was part of our Anonymous dinner rota. We were quite happy during eating and on the day, but the next few days were rough as 3/4 of us were ill. I wouldn’t go again even though the food tasted nice. Go at your own risk as it is good value for money if you can stomach food made in an unclean environment. My order was as follows: Starter(s): Veg Samosa, Hara Kebab, Aloo Tikki Chaat, Chicken Tikka, Side(s): Plain Naan. Food: All the dishes were good and I thought we found a gem. However, 3 of the 4 of us were ill for a few days after. Atmosphere: Music was at a varying loudness. The Seating was not comfy at all. The interior was decent but nothing special. Service: Service was poor. We had to ask for water multiple times and the waiter assigned to our table just didn’t want to listen to us when we asked for things or tried to get his attention. The other waiter was very good when we asked him for assistance. The food arrived at a good speed to the table. Cost: Mid-range and only worth it if your stomach can handle food made in a bad environment.

The very humble doorway nearly put me off, but I could see a decent looking meal being eaten through the window. I am so pleased I took a table, as the meal really was excellent. The servers are quite casual, and the furniture is very humble, it doesn’t appear to be fine dining. But the servers were polite and quick and the food? Really excellent. A generous portion with each dish, chicken cooked to perfection , and reasonably priced (especially given that this is a premium location). 1. Owners are friendly 2. Food portions are considerably small for the price. E.g. the pav bhaji, tandoori roti. 3. If you, like me, order a small quantity first and then want to add to your order based on how much you like your food or how hungry you are, you might be disappointed. They take a rather long time to serve once you order. In my case, it took them 15-20 mins to give me another tandoori roti. 4. If you ask for a little bit of raw onion, they'll charge you for it. Most restaurants give this complimentary as they see the request as feedback that the customer is enjoying their food. 5. Even their spicy food as shown on the menu, isn't really spicy. They say it's because we cater to customers who don't like much spice. But they end up disappointing those who order spicy dishes for the spice. And they won't even ask you when you place the order, whether you have tolerance to spice for one of the spicy dishes you ordered. Overall, I didn't feel we got our money's worth.

I’m a fan of Indian cuisine but admittedly I am a novice to it. I had been told that Indian food in London is the best. I can confirm that this is true. Delhi Grill did not disappoint and delivered a memorable and enjoyable dining experience. I tried a few things I never had before and loved the flavors and mingling of spices. A perfect blend of heat, savory, and sweet notes. I ordered the spicy butter chicken with basmanti rice. It was rich and flavorful and had just the right amount of heat to it. Perfection. I also enjoyed some naan bread and poppadoms ( a light cracker that reminded me of an unsalted Munchos) with a flight of five delicious chutneys. I ate a really good meal and couldn’t try a dessert because I was really full. Their desserts sounded amazing, but there was no more room in my stomach for them. The staff were very friendly and cordial. They made me feel very welcome and I really appreciated that. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you find yourself in the Islington Green area of London.

First time ordering from this restaurant. I went for the Spicy Butter Chicken, garlic naan and sheek kebab with rice. The rice was nice, soft and colourful. The garlic naam was soft and tasty, no spice at all even though it was described as garlic and chilli. The spicy butter chicken was spicy but other than that had no actual flavour. Probably one of the worst butter chickens I've had. The sheek kebab. Not very tasty.

The restaurant has street food as well like Pani Puri, Samosa Chat etc.You can dine in or order online, I tried here street food, dal makhni & mix vegetables 🥗 & my family tried butter chicken 🐓, chicken tikka ,keema nan, all were tasty 😋 as well as very much pocket friendly. On weekends it catches rush, so it’s better to reserve the table in advance.

The food is okay, the chole bhature tasted very good, but the size of bhatura is a size of a puri. So it was more of a chole puri. So do not expect you will be done with chole bhature. Next was matter paneer and dal makhni, they were pretty basic, not very good not very bad. Aloo bhajiya were good. So overall a good experience, can be a one time visit.

I was not sure if I would like the wrap, but I was very surprised with how hot and fresh it was. It was well made and tasted delicious. Very attentive member of staff, and I was lucky to get the wrap as the stall closed soon after as lunchtime was over

Food is amazing -- would recommend cheesy naan. Great value too, but some portion sizes like Chicken Tika are tiny. Service was pretty sleepy.

Booked a table for 2 where I confirmed my card details at the time of booking and received an active card check. Received an email 24 hours before to confirm my reservation, clicked on the link the following morning to be told my reservation was cancelled. I called the restaurant when they opened and spoke to 2 of the rudest staff members I’ve ever encountered, who firstly said I hadn’t put in my card details, and then a man told me that it was because I hadn’t confirmed it in time, and then that it was because I had obviously cancelled it myself (?) When I asked him why I would then be calling, and if anyone was going to at the very least apologise for what was obviously a system error he hung up on me. It is now too late to find a table somewhere else, and our anniversary meal has been ruined.

We have visited it quite a few times and it is amazing as always. Their menu is a classic Italian menu, with loads of vegetarian options too. The food tastes amazing and feels fresh quality wise. The ambience of the restaurant feels like you are actually sitting in Italy and the staff is very sweet and friendly. In terms of dishes - I highly recommend their Mushroom risotto, Bruschetta and Zuchhini fries. I had their Banoffee pie and tiramisu both were marvellous. Do try this place!!!

los cortes de carne son muy buenos, super tiernos como mantequilla, además estaba cocido en el punto justo.
