The dishes were quite good, but the proportions are ridiculous considering the prices. 12 pounds for 3 mini chicken teriyaki skewers and 6 pounds for 3 small beef meatballs as a starter. The quantities are only adequate for starchy foods. No vegetables offered. Also, we came for the bao, but we didn't see them on the menu.
Very i teresting place! FOOD is nice and service fantastic (The laidy called Katerin, she is very nice and friendly) me and my wife had a great time. Muy bueno!
A very cozy and homely café, that seems to be well attended by repeat customers and the local community.
The menu is relatively expansive with plenty of paninis and brunches, as well as fruit bowls. The drink offer is pretty boilerplate, which is not a bad thing, not all places need to go crazy in that department.
I ordered the fruit and yoghurt bowl and despite it being quite nice, I found it a bit small and lackluster for its price tag.
There are plenty of amenities such as books that you can buy and it boasts a gorgeous front window from ceiling to floor.
Had the vegan burger which came out cold and had no sauce on it so was dry and unappetising. Others I was with said their meat burgers were cold also and very average. The front door was broken and wouldn’t shut so there was a really annoying cold draft blowing on us the whole meal. Table was wonky and unstable. Waiters got our orders wrong. Maybe we just got unlucky but I’ll be sticking to honest burgers next time.
I ordered a sharing platter of charcuterie which cost £30 - I thought this would be enough for 4 people. What I received was a very limited plate of cold meat with cornichons and olives unceremoniously dumped on top of the meat and three slices of sourdough cut in half also dumped on the top. The presentation was abysmal and the price was 40% more than the plate was worth. The Lion is a popular pub, very busy at weekends, and it's in danger of becoming a victim of it's own success - it's doing well so why bother to provide value for money. The food is seriously overpriced and the menu is unimaginative and desperately needs reviewing.
Each bite revealed layers of rich flavor, with a perfect balance. The coffee was equally impressive, with a robust aroma and smooth finish, complementing the pastries well. Whether you prefer a classic croissant or something more indulgent, there's something to satisfy every palate. A great spot for a quick treat or a leisurely morning.
No vamos a volver.
Another lovely meal at the Carob tree. We come here at least once a month and it never fails to be amazing. Service and food is flawless as always. Pleasant lunch today from beginning to end, even though they were super busy a top service!
