Lovely service, atmosphere and cocktails! Very lovely nightcap.

Absolutely amazing experience. Our friends are visiting London next week and have already made a reservation based on our recommendation. Our waiter was the BEST!!

Our waiter was brilliant, he was so attentive, to the point that he didn't want us to pour our own tea, he was continually on hand to do so for us. Unfortunately, the lady, who I assume to be the m'aitre d' was not so friendly or happy, it felt as though we had interrupted her in some way. She actually took us halfway to our table and then just pointed and grunted in the general direction! The afternoon tea was good, the chicken and steak sandwiches were standout. 4 scones each and a selection of 5 sweets, although the earl grey and blackberry dome was the star of the show, for sure. Reasonably priced at £48 per person or £65 with champagne, although if booked on ' The Fork' there's currently an offer for £40 including sparkling rose but the staff had no idea how to apply this offer so there was a bit of a kerfuffle with the bill at the end and we were overcharged by around £70. But it was all sorted in the end and we left happy. The decor inside is fabulous, with very high ceilings and interesting chandeliers, lots of artwork on the walls, large mirrors and bright coral paint. Large comfy chairs and cushions at low tables have a relaxed and enjoyable feel.

Extremely impressive bar. The ambience is exceptionally classy and unusually spacious. The serving and bartending staff is very highly skilled and very gracious. Cocktails executed to perfection. High-concept drinks done they way they should be done. Even the music selection is beyond reproach.

THE MOST ROMANTIC COCKTAIL BAR . This wasn't my first time at the @coralroom and I always think it's one of the most stylish and romantic cocktail bars in London. It's a villa-style bar topped with chandeliers offering creative cocktails and small plates. . Beautiful bar in London. The cocktails were divine! Had the Paloma and it was absolute perfection. Will come back!

Amazing bar lounge in the Bloomsbury Hotel. Has a 1930s vibe and well made drinks and impeccable service. It’s quiet and can be romantic or a great place to wrap an evening up with friends. Highly recommended.

Terrible Service and Overpriced Low-Quality Drinks. I do not recommend this bar to anyone and will certainly not be returning. I visited this bar with a friend last Friday (June 7th, 2024, from 9:00 PM to midnight) and had a very disappointing experience. The waiter, a tall man with light hair, was unhelpful and rude from the start. When my friend asked for a menu and inquired about the snacks, the waiter's cold and irritated behaviour made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Despite the bar not being busy, the waiter ignored us for most of the evening. He only seemed to attend to larger groups or middle-aged people, completely disregarding our attempts to get his attention. We waited for 15-20 minutes just to get the menu and were left waiting for another 20-30 minutes to place our order and cycle repeats. When I finally ordered a cocktail, the drink was a complete disaster. It contained a single, large piece of ice that was the same height as the cocktail itself, which is something I have never encountered in any bar I've been to around the world. Half of the drink was just ice, making it both a rip-off and a clear indication of poor quality (16 pounds). I didn't even bother asking for a replacement cocktail because I feared I would have to wait another 30 minutes just to place the order with the waiter.

Came here for afternoon tea with a friend and really enjoyed it. The sandwiches/scones/pastries were all delicious and the service impeccable. We were offered lots of refills and it was a relaxing experience compared to other places which rush you out so they can have the table back. It’s also reasonably priced for a London afternoon tea.

Somehow this place is universal. Feels like it suits any format of the meeting you are having. Nice cocktails. Very good staff.

Beautiful bar with expertly made cocktails. Fabulous service, special mention for George who offered impeccable service both friendly and knowledgable . Will definitely return , perfect spot for a special occasion or equally just popping in for an impromptu drink . A definite must if you’re in the area , already looking for an excuse to return.

Beautiful bar. Delicious cocktails. Poor service. The bar looks fantastic, and the cocktails are excellent. We wanted to have more drinks, but found the service became inattentive, so we left after one round. We sat for a while with empty glasses and nobody checked on us for more orders, to give us the menus back, or for more water. Disappointing, as we wanted to stay. It was not busy at all. From reading other reviews it seems we just had a bit of bad luck here.

Wonderful place with kind and considerate service. We visited for afternoon tea and had a delightful time. You can reorder the small sandwiches and pastries at no additional cost, which is a lovely touch. The food was delicious, and I highly recommend making a reservation in advance.

Stayed 2 nights in London, both nights we went to the Coral. Didn't have any food, but the atmosphere and drinks are top notch. Loved the interaction with the staff and the level of service.

We went for afternoon tea and had a lovely and pleasant experience. They portions were generous and the tea flavours were sublime. All in all very relaxing and would visit again.

Very smart and relaxed bar converted from what was the original hotel foyer. High ceilings, open fireplace, comfy sofas and barstool seating. The bar staff are absolutely great, really approachable and good to chat with. They have a nice cocktail menu too. Highly recommended!

Wow! Gorgeous spot for high tea (served between 12-4pm). We splurged for the champagne tea and absolutely worth it. Plenty of food, with the option to always order more free of charge. The service was very attentive, despite a large and demanding group of 10 seated next to us.

The atmosphere of this place is so excellent - it feels special and a little bit fancy without being stuffy or formal. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. I especially loved the March special cocktail and the complementary smoked almonds. And even though it's barely off the beaten track, it wasn't too busy at all!

I took 3 twenty somethings to high tea at Coral room and found it very beautiful. The champagne came quick the tea pots generous w lovely teas. The savoury food portion however was disappointing w too little filling and not very attractively presented. Sweets were pretty. Improvment areas: changing of tea cups w fresh pots of tea

One of the most disappointing bar experiences I've had in a long time. This is supposed to be a fancy hotel bar, but service was bafflingly poor - especially for what they charge. Went in on a very quiet Monday afternoon, there were only 6-8 other customers there. We were asked if we were ready to order about 30 seconds after being sat down, we then ordered two glasses of wine and after about 10 minutes only one came. We were asked if we had ordered anything else, when we confirmed we had and effectively ordered again another approximately 10 minutes pass and the second arrives. I can't understand what was happening that two glasses of wine to one of your three occupied tables is difficult to do. For all this they charge £27 plus 12.5% service charge, plus VAT. Save your cash, better service just about everywhere else.

Not so good service, waiter touching our belongings, spilling cocktails without apologising, splashing wet liquid on my back for no reason. Management needs to be improved, same with some etiquette trainings.

One of the best places to have a drink in London. The historic 1930s venue is sublime, the service is attentive and the cocktails are refined.

The Coral room will always be a firm favourite of mine. If you are looking for great drinks or an afternoon for a special occasion, this place is always worth the visit. The staff are always extremely helpful and welcoming, and they always explain the menu to you perfectly. They have a great selection on the drinks menu, but the afternoon tea changes seasonally, which entices me to revisit. Can’t wait to go again soon!

I came here for an evening catch up with a friend in June 2023. Great atmosphere, a quiet and peaceful spot in a busy area.

I visited the Coral Room with my mum on 7th December. We were served by Shukran as well as some other waitresses, they were all great and even got us some extra sandwiches. My second time visiting the Coral Room and it was great again

Booked a table for my anniversary with my boyfriend and was such a shame because the vibe was so nice and the cocktails were okay but we had horrible service! The brunette lady at the front desk was really rude and abrupt. She tried to tell us we didn’t have a table when I told her we were there for drinks and then when I told her we had a booking she seemed really reluctant to give us a table despite me literally booking this in advance a couple of days ago. Also told another waiter that we wanted to split the bill and she didn’t listen and put the full charge on one card, barely apologised and ran off hahaha. Heads up to anyone going that if you run into a mean brunette front of house receptionist — you’ll probably have to beg her for a table even if you have a booking 😂 Seems like some people have had great experiences here so just depends on who you run into!

We went to this bar every day during our stay, special thanks to Jasmine who treated us with a really special care, always smiling, professional and available for any demand. If I could recommend some of the dishes we had, it would be the ceviche, the croquettes, the buttermilk chicken and the parmesan and truffle fries. Thanks to all the staff, especially the two Johns, Hannah, Marie and Shukran. Every cocktail we had was fantastic, great quality drinks and products were used.

Wide selection of cocktails and they were pretty nice Love the ambience but the music was quite loud (live DJ) on a Friday night so it’s probably not a good place to chat😂 Service was good ☺️

To start with the positive, service was very attentive, caring, and friendly which is always wonderful. Also, the cocktail pricing is extremely affordable. On the downside, I found the decor and atmosphere extremely pokey, featuring selfie-taking tourists, people eating at the bar, and precarious barstools. I feel almost reticent about writing a review as the staff were indeed lovely but this simply is not a bar that offers an experience that is comparable to the best that London has to offer. Artesian, Connaught, and maybe Common Decency are all worthy contenders for a place to see and be seen.

It's a lovely place with great ambience, friendly staff and the in-house cocktails were novel and delish. There was also a DJ on deck for the Thursday vinyl music special but the music selection could be better. Some Bossa Nova mixes would suit the Coral Room really well imho.

One of the best places I’ve been to in London. I went to The Coral Room for drinks followed by dinner at Dalloway Terrace and had such a great time. The venue is spectacular, the staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive and the ambience was incredible. Highly recommend!

Went there to celebrate my birthday with some pre-dinner cocktails and Gio and his team looked after us so well, the atmosphere is just so great and my favourite place in London to have a cocktail! Thanks for having us!

I have it 4 stars - it is beautiful inside, the wait staff are all friendly, but I believe the presentation of food and drinks (esp. tea time) lacked the ambience expected.

What a hidden gem for afternoon tea! Joel was the tea master - he captained our incredible tea service and made sure we were all stocked up on sandwiches and scones the entire time. I have a dietary restriction and substitutions were made with ease. I will definitely come back next time I am in town, if only to experience Joel's lovely personality again!

Lovely place to get a drink. There’s a huge number of cocktails on offer - a little overwhelming, actually, and not helped by the fact they’re in three separate menus. But the drinks themselves were truly excellent, and they give you free nibbles, which is always appreciated. The person who sat us was very nice, but one of the dark-haired waitresses had quite an aggressive manner, and was very abrupt. Still - a nice place for a quick pre-dinner drink, and would recommend if you’re in the area!

The lady with the long black hair in a pony tail serving us came across as very rude and unfriendly. The room and drinks were lovely but the service was tainted by her experience.

The Coral Room is a great place for afternoon tea or aperitif. Great place to hide from the rainy weather and get a warm feeling again.

One of the best experiences with afternoon tea in London! It is somewhat less well known as an afternoon tea spot compared to, say, Harrods or Fortnum and Mason, but it is definitely worth it and everything from the food and service to the atmosphere is on par with the big ones! The staff are very meticulous about making sure they abide by everyone’s tastes, allergies and dietary restrictions, and are very patient and friendly! The coral room is also very well situated, only a 2 minute walk from the British museum and in the heart of beautiful Bloomsbury. Would definitely recommend as a must for a traditional afternoon tea experience!

Friendly welcome and service from Shelina and the awesome team. It's a stunning room, yet super comfortable. Great loose leaf teas, and yummy cocktails.

Nice atmosphere as decor is lovely but food is atrocious. You would think they could find some better cooks with the prices. Worst sandwiches I have ever tasted and scones were as hard as a rock.

The decor is fabulous! I only wish I had a better outfit on to take some fun pics with. 🍸 amazing! I can see how they’re well known for these. They have a very fun menu with illustrations and inventive and unique flavor combos. Would absolutely go back here purely for the atmosphere and the comfortability of it all. I tend not to like a ton of people, so it was good we came here on the Monday.

Artsy cocktail place, nice vibe, perfect for families and friends gathering, especially after a long visit to the museum. Shelina is so helpful and gave a great intro about the building. Will come back for sure!

During our first time visiting London, we really wanted to try out the classic team time experience. After looking around for the best-rated places, this one popped up. When we went in, we realized that a reservation was required, but the hosts were so accommodating that they arranged with the kitchen to serve us. Once seated, we were greeted by Shukran and she thoroughly explained the menu to us. To make a long story short, we had the most wonderful experience enjoying the scones, sandwiches, desserts, and of course the tea (you can order coffee instead if you'd like). Shukran made us feel very welcome and we were there for almost 3 hours! Overall, a very enjoyable experience, and if you're able to be served by Shukran, then you're in for a wonderful time.

Came in today for Brunch. Really really enjoyed the dishes we ordered. However, my two faults are that the service was quite slow although our waitress was very kind and I didn’t enjoy my Banana daiquiri cocktail, it tasted too strong.

However, let down by poor service & rude waitress with bad attitude (who tried to justify a 30 minute wait for the first drink - quote, “you should be grateful we didn’t charge you for it “ … and was just not customer focused or friendly). Fantastic! Had such a nice afternoon tea with my mum here who was visiting from NZ. The service was great they really helped us make the most of the afternoon tea, with trying a couple different teas, extra clotted cream :). We ate so much we were very full and still didn't eat everything so were able to take the leftovers with us which was great! Will 100% recommend.

It was ok but I don't think I will visit again. The receptionist did not even bother to check my reservation because of my delay due to subway interruptions. Luckily my invitees came to my rescue.

I was looking at originally doing an afternoon tea at Harrods or the other more known places and so glad I came here instead. The interiors and atmosphere were so lovely i could have stayed there all day. I was a solo traveler and my waitress was so warm and lovely. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Would definitely recommend for a nice day out solo or with friends.

The Coral Room sure is a classy place to have your drink. Although on the pricey side (£15 for most cocktails), the great service, tasteful music and nice decor make up for it. We went on a Friday, but still there were available tables. Definitely worth a try if you're visiting London.

Had the worst dining experience during my stay in London. Staff didn't even try to be friendly, food was way below average while being over-priced, waiters didn't even once ask how things were, even my seat was too tight and uncomfortable!

Mixed view on this one: obviously afternoon tea is overpriced by definition but the sandwiches offered were cucumber, egg&cress, roasted red pepper, and trout. So really two vegetable based sandwiches feels a little like a cost cut. However, cakes were excellent, the shortbread was magnificent and the club sandwich was the standout star. Martini was offered twist or olive, but came each time with twist not the requested olive. The "bespoke" non alcoholic cocktail that was offered to suit my taste, was effectively just the guest cocktail off the menu, which if I'd known I would have swerved. Also there were a great many waiters but still had to chase down the bill. Finally, the ubiquitous insta-crowd were there annoying everyone and also some "down it, down it" chants, which were really not in-keeping with a location where a glorified glass of juice costs £15.

Believe it or not we were just looking for a bathroom around the area but couldn’t find any place suitable 🥹 We ended up here and had hit drinks and desserts. Worth every quid 😁

We went for afternoon tea on coronation day. Was hoping to go for their terrace restaurant, but unfortunately it was booked out. The service was a little slow as it was very busy on coronation day, understandable. The restaurant itself is beautiful, very chic decor, vibrant colours. It also has a very cute bar. The food was satisfactory. In general, reasonably priced and great experience, would recommend.

The place is absolutely amazing! Our host Sherlina went above and beyond with serving us and suggesting foods that I thoroughly enjoyed. The ambience was lovely and I certainly would come back again.

Shelina was extremely attentive: she helped us take great pictures to remember the event and offered great advice about drinks selection. She was also very knowledgeable about their menu. John and David were two of the most attentive bartenders I have ever experienced - John crafted one of the finest Cognac based cocktails I have ever drank - and the general ambiance was beautiful, my girlfriend was made a fruity - but no too fruity - cocktail which was divine and was smack on the money. Their demure brought the ambiance and vibe of the coral room together (alongside conversing well). Would highly recommend for the ideal intimidate date location!
