A full breakfast is a great start to exploring London. Thank you to Mohammad and the manager Tanya for their kind service.

Had high tea at the Coral Room. The service was exceptional. The sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam and the beautiful desserts were delicious and oh so filling. We had a bottle of champagne and as much tea and kinds of tea we wanted. The whole experience was elegant and lovely.

I went here for the afternoon tea, and it was a very nice experience and comfortable vibe, but the food was very bland, and the tea just tasted like water with an aroma of the flavour you ordered. Some of the desserts were very tasty though, and the lemon cake was possibly the best dessert ive tasted!

Had drinks with some friends, wonderful atmosphere and service. Great place!

Me and my friends went here for an afternoon tea. The location is stunning but the food was somewhat average, but the service was somewhat disappointing. Initially we were seated and served by a very nice member of staff. Unfortunately, towards the end of our experience, our server changed to a different lady, who was quite unpleasant, wanted to charge us more (perhaps on accident) despite having the bill in her hand. When we started talking amongst ourselves as we were confused about the price, she quite rudely addressed us by saying 'is there a problem here ladies?' making the situation quite uncomfortable. It's a shame, as otherwise I would have given this place 4 stars.

I had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours at The Coral Room with my mum, enjoying their Devil Wears Prada themed afternoon tea. The sandwiches were delicious, as were the scones and cakes. A high point of the experience was definitely the lovely Anna, who welcomed us warmly and made us feel right at home with her wit. The only downside was that as it got busier it got way noisier than anticipated - and we were sitting between the bar and other tables, maybe not the best spot, but I understand that as busy as it was, it was good enough to have found a spot at all!

Great and cosy environment and it is one of the best places to have drinks after dinner in the area. The drinks and food are at reasonable prices and staff are so friendly and welcoming to guests! My friends and I had a great time as always!

Stunning venue! Drinks reservation was booked for 4pm, arrived slightly early but no waiting for a table. Was shown to a high bar table with comfy seating. Around 10 minutes later we were asked if we were happy being seated there or if we’d prefer low arm chairs and sofa around the corner near to the afternoon tea tables-we kindly accepted the offer to move. Service could have been a little bit more prompt as we were sat a while waiting to order, we weren’t in a rush so didn’t bother us too much. Had we had been limited on time I would have just gone up to the bar to order. Prices on par with other Central London establishments. Afternoon Tea looked good, everyone seemed to be enjoying as wasn’t much left apart from the odd cake. Would happily visit again next time i’m in London-have also had people ask me where it is after posting on my socials.

Amazing service from David and John Nice explanation about the new cocktail menu and of course the taste was incredible.

Came here for afternoon tea and what an experience it was, the tea selection was excellent, the sandwiches were delightful and very generous with the portions, special mention to Joel who looked after us he was so warm and went above and beyond to make our experience great!

While the venue and the premise for the afternoon tea itself was great, the execution wasn’t. The service was super friendly, but they did forget the tea — for our afternoon tea… and the cakes were not living up to the expectations I had for them. Nonetheless, we had a lovely time!

EDIT: my original review from back in October 2024 was a one star review - I don’t like to fully remove my reviews because I feel that’s fake. But at that time we had cause to leave a poor review over service received / bad handling of a guest with a nut allergy during London Cocktail Week where they refused to accommodate by offering any nut-free alternative, effectively forcing us as a group of 3 people to leave. After I left my review, I was asked to reach out which I did at the time, but by mid-January 2025 I had not had a reply, so I further edited my review to reflect this. As of late January 2025, I can report now that I have had a response to our concerns over how the allergy was handled and it seems that they have taken these on board and (I hope) been able to ensure that all staff are aware of the importance of showing respect and empathy for patrons who have potentially life threatening allergies and the importance of offering suitable alternatives so as to ensure no one of their guests is ever excluded. We were invited to join them to see this in action and we were well looked after on the night by Emma. It is a lovely environment in The Coral Room, and the quality of food and drink was never in question (we particularly like the Banana Daiquiri cocktail) - our concern at that time was solely surrounding the handling of that one situation. Emma took time to make sure we enjoyed ourselves, advised on which cocktails were nut-free and has a really personable, and genuine, character. They recognised that at the time in October, what happened was something that they were unhappy we had experienced and it did feel like they were genuinely keen to prove that it shouldn’t have happened and that lessons had been learned. Thank you Emma for your kindness, your service personally was five star. I have amended my review to reflect our overall experience from start to finish.

Had a beautiful time catching up with a dear friend. The service was exceptional and we were treated with the upmost respect by all the team, especially Gio. We will be returning again very soon 🙏🙏🙏

Second time here for breakfast - invited my friends visiting from abroad. The service was disappointing this time. Waffles were cold. Forgot one of the dishes; only arrived when everyone else was done with their food. Bread was forgotten for one of the breakfast plate; never arrived. Disappointing for value / service.

Wanted a glamorous experience, however this fell short. Service slow and overpriced for what it is.

Drinks are okay but terrible service

The bar itself is beautiful, we just went for one drink before our food reservation at the Dalloway terrace. We booked a drinks table for 6pm, arrived 5 minutes before and the front of house told us the table wasn’t ready, which was fine. At 6:10, we asked if the table was ready and she said no, the people on it wouldn’t leave. She told us we just have to wait then put us in the lounge where there is no bar or seats as it was busy. We went back around 10 minutes later and asked what was happening and then she said ‘oh, your table is ready’ really poor service, no apology, and disappointing.

I had just a scone and tea. The scones were amazing, they were freshly baked and the jam, I believe it's home made, was fantastic. They add some spice or something, it was so good.

The venue itself is beautifully designed, with a fantastic atmosphere that instantly draws you in. However, I can’t say the same for the drinks. While the cocktail menu seemed thoughtfully curated, the actual drinks fell short of expectations. They looked overly simple when served, and the taste was disappointing—honestly, it felt like I was drinking juice. For such a stunning place, the cocktails simply didn’t live up to the standard.

Overall the staff was exceptionally RUDE and unprofessional. Literally making faces and I had called to ask if I can change my reservation to which the staff said “You should read before you make a reservation” lol Even the lady at the door we walked in saying we already had a table and our friends were inside and she made us a disgusting face and told us to just go in a rude away. Overall TRASHY BEHAVIOR

Lovely afternoon tea for my wife’s birthday only let down by some of the staff. We were greeted warmly on arrival and shown to our table and our glass of champagne arrived all good so far then a lady in a red dress came to our table with another lady (assuming she was a customer) asking us if we minded moving tables, we reluctantly agreed with the assumed other customer looking on and about to move we were told we could stay doesn’t make you feel particularly special although the lady did return later to apologise for disturbing us. We then had our plate of sandwiches arrive we had stated we were both vegetarian on booking but got meat sandwiches and it seemed to annoy the waiter when we said that we had requested a vegetarian afternoon tea and he disappeared for a bit and on his return eventually took the plate away but made us feel like it was us who had made the mistake. The sandwiches and scones etc then arrived and were very enjoyable and we only had a couple of cakes left to finish when a rather rude lady with blond hair informed us we had to leave as the area we were in as it was booked. So we packaged up the cakes and left, could have been handled so much better but wasn’t surprised with the earlier failings. Bit of a shame it’s a beautiful room and the food was lovely but some of the staff let it down and expected more for £150 and wouldn’t return.

The cocktails were fun, and well made. The snacks were tasty. The service was non-existent. The hostess didn’t acknowledge guests, walked off without directing guests, and the service was extremely slow. I wouldn’t recommend this place other than a week day stop. It is not a destination.

Amazing bar! I had meeting with my friends that I haven’t seen in years. The atmosphere in bar was just perfect. Not too busy, music level was not disturbing. Quality of cocktails and food was beyond my expectations. I wan genuinely pleased and I will be coming back. Last but not least I would like to mention the staff what served us ( Irish waitress /I do not remember her name sadly ( Hanna/Anna…???… and bartender Johnathan)z professional, knowledgeable, attentive and friendly.

Gorgeous bar with great atmosphere. Unfortunately the staff let this place down, I was waiting for a very long time to have someone take my order (this was a quiet time of the day) and when I was served, I just did not get good vibes from them. I also ended up going to the bar to pay when I had fisnihed, as no one was checking on me, despite trying to get attention. It's not a big deal, but it's supposed to be table service and there is a service charge usually (which I got removed on this occasion) Bars can spend all the money they like on fabulous decor, but if they don't get decent staff, people won't return.

Afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones and sweet patisserie in the beautiful corral room - so aptly named.

The Coral Room’s The Devil Wears Prada themed afternoon tea was a delightful experience. The artistic interiors created a calm, peaceful ambience. The sandwiches were excellent, but the scones and madeleines were truly outstanding! The cakes were also lovely, with the cheesecake being a personal favourite. The service was impeccable, making it a must try for a refined, memorable treat.

Delightful experience. Great service. We shared one bottle of champagne to go with our afternoon tea. Everything was delicious and plentiful.

Went for afternoon tea. Very nice space, comfortable seating. The tea was excellent and the food was good. Scones were the best in my opinion. My one issue was the service. After I was seated, seeing one waiter who seemed to be in charge of my area pass by and ignore me several times, I had to ask if he was my waiter. He asked me to give him a moment and came back a few minutes later. After that, service remained slow--it wasn't until 5 minutes after I got the nice warm scones that they brought the clotted cream and jam, which was too bad as the scones had cooled off some. Overall, a nice experience for afternoon tea, but not enough to lead me to return

I’ve yet to dine there, but recently visited for London Cocktail Week and had such a beautiful evening. Warm reception, and attentive staff - gorgeous settings too! Loved their Palmaráe cocktails on offer - would definitely recommend! Excellent service all round. I’ll be back soon :)

Booked ahead of arrival which was a good call. Service was good but slow to make cocktails.

If I could give it 0 stars I would do. Came for cocktail week as we had wanted to try it. However, we found out that the cocktail of the day contained almonds which one of our party was allergic to. In every other bar they had asked if we had an allergies and even in one bar when we didn't like the cocktail, it got changed free of charge! In the coral rooms they were very dismissive and almost couldn't wait to get rid of us - when we asked if there was an alternative to get told no. Won't be returning!

It’s a beautiful place. Sadly the food wasn’t as good as I was expecting to. Really terrible standards. A simply egg overcooked. An egg royal presented badly. The egg not runny as it supposed to be. The croque madam dry. Waiter didn’t care much. I’ve refrained from ordering a cocktail as the price was £17 each. A very glamour place that doesn’t much the standards or food or service. Not recommended.

We visited this bar for drinks today and were impressed by its neat and ambient environment. The atmosphere was cozy yet modern, perfect for a relaxing night out. The service was prompt and attentive, making the overall experience smooth and enjoyable. Definitely a place worth revisiting if you're looking for a calm and efficient bar experience! Kudos to the Italian lady who served us!

This bar is truly a phenomenal place to unwind. Wonderful bartenders and cocktails. Though I did not order one, the special cocktail menu was thoughtfully prepared and a joy to simply read through. The complimentary tarali and almonds were top notch.

Absolutely amazing experience. Our friends are visiting London next week and have already made a reservation based on our recommendation. Our waiter was the BEST!!

Our waiter was brilliant, he was so attentive, to the point that he didn't want us to pour our own tea, he was continually on hand to do so for us. Unfortunately, the lady, who I assume to be the m'aitre d' was not so friendly or happy, it felt as though we had interrupted her in some way. She actually took us halfway to our table and then just pointed and grunted in the general direction! The afternoon tea was good, the chicken and steak sandwiches were standout. 4 scones each and a selection of 5 sweets, although the earl grey and blackberry dome was the star of the show, for sure. Reasonably priced at £48 per person or £65 with champagne, although if booked on ' The Fork' there's currently an offer for £40 including sparkling rose but the staff had no idea how to apply this offer so there was a bit of a kerfuffle with the bill at the end and we were overcharged by around £70. But it was all sorted in the end and we left happy. The decor inside is fabulous, with very high ceilings and interesting chandeliers, lots of artwork on the walls, large mirrors and bright coral paint. Large comfy chairs and cushions at low tables have a relaxed and enjoyable feel.

Extremely impressive bar. The ambience is exceptionally classy and unusually spacious. The serving and bartending staff is very highly skilled and very gracious. Cocktails executed to perfection. High-concept drinks done they way they should be done. Even the music selection is beyond reproach.

Amazing bar lounge in the Bloomsbury Hotel. Has a 1930s vibe and well made drinks and impeccable service. It’s quiet and can be romantic or a great place to wrap an evening up with friends. Highly recommended.

Terrible Service and Overpriced Low-Quality Drinks. I do not recommend this bar to anyone and will certainly not be returning. I visited this bar with a friend last Friday (June 7th, 2024, from 9:00 PM to midnight) and had a very disappointing experience. The waiter, a tall man with light hair, was unhelpful and rude from the start. When my friend asked for a menu and inquired about the snacks, the waiter's cold and irritated behaviour made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Despite the bar not being busy, the waiter ignored us for most of the evening. He only seemed to attend to larger groups or middle-aged people, completely disregarding our attempts to get his attention. We waited for 15-20 minutes just to get the menu and were left waiting for another 20-30 minutes to place our order and cycle repeats. When I finally ordered a cocktail, the drink was a complete disaster. It contained a single, large piece of ice that was the same height as the cocktail itself, which is something I have never encountered in any bar I've been to around the world. Half of the drink was just ice, making it both a rip-off and a clear indication of poor quality (16 pounds). I didn't even bother asking for a replacement cocktail because I feared I would have to wait another 30 minutes just to place the order with the waiter.

Came here for afternoon tea with a friend and really enjoyed it. The sandwiches/scones/pastries were all delicious and the service impeccable. We were offered lots of refills and it was a relaxing experience compared to other places which rush you out so they can have the table back. It’s also reasonably priced for a London afternoon tea.

Somehow this place is universal. Feels like it suits any format of the meeting you are having. Nice cocktails. Very good staff.

Beautiful bar with expertly made cocktails. Fabulous service, special mention for George who offered impeccable service both friendly and knowledgable . Will definitely return , perfect spot for a special occasion or equally just popping in for an impromptu drink . A definite must if you’re in the area , already looking for an excuse to return.

Beautiful bar. Delicious cocktails. Poor service. The bar looks fantastic, and the cocktails are excellent. We wanted to have more drinks, but found the service became inattentive, so we left after one round. We sat for a while with empty glasses and nobody checked on us for more orders, to give us the menus back, or for more water. Disappointing, as we wanted to stay. It was not busy at all. From reading other reviews it seems we just had a bit of bad luck here.

Stayed 2 nights in London, both nights we went to the Coral. Didn't have any food, but the atmosphere and drinks are top notch. Loved the interaction with the staff and the level of service.

We went for afternoon tea and had a lovely and pleasant experience. They portions were generous and the tea flavours were sublime. All in all very relaxing and would visit again.

Very smart and relaxed bar converted from what was the original hotel foyer. High ceilings, open fireplace, comfy sofas and barstool seating. The bar staff are absolutely great, really approachable and good to chat with. They have a nice cocktail menu too. Highly recommended!

Wow! Gorgeous spot for high tea (served between 12-4pm). We splurged for the champagne tea and absolutely worth it. Plenty of food, with the option to always order more free of charge. The service was very attentive, despite a large and demanding group of 10 seated next to us.

The atmosphere of this place is so excellent - it feels special and a little bit fancy without being stuffy or formal. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. I especially loved the March special cocktail and the complementary smoked almonds. And even though it's barely off the beaten track, it wasn't too busy at all!

I took 3 twenty somethings to high tea at Coral room and found it very beautiful. The champagne came quick the tea pots generous w lovely teas. The savoury food portion however was disappointing w too little filling and not very attractively presented. Sweets were pretty. Improvment areas: changing of tea cups w fresh pots of tea

One of the most disappointing bar experiences I've had in a long time. This is supposed to be a fancy hotel bar, but service was bafflingly poor - especially for what they charge. Went in on a very quiet Monday afternoon, there were only 6-8 other customers there. We were asked if we were ready to order about 30 seconds after being sat down, we then ordered two glasses of wine and after about 10 minutes only one came. We were asked if we had ordered anything else, when we confirmed we had and effectively ordered again another approximately 10 minutes pass and the second arrives. I can't understand what was happening that two glasses of wine to one of your three occupied tables is difficult to do. For all this they charge £27 plus 12.5% service charge, plus VAT. Save your cash, better service just about everywhere else.

Not so good service, waiter touching our belongings, spilling cocktails without apologising, splashing wet liquid on my back for no reason. Management needs to be improved, same with some etiquette trainings.

One of the best places to have a drink in London. The historic 1930s venue is sublime, the service is attentive and the cocktails are refined.

The Coral room will always be a firm favourite of mine. If you are looking for great drinks or an afternoon for a special occasion, this place is always worth the visit. The staff are always extremely helpful and welcoming, and they always explain the menu to you perfectly. They have a great selection on the drinks menu, but the afternoon tea changes seasonally, which entices me to revisit. Can’t wait to go again soon!

I visited the Coral Room with my mum on 7th December. We were served by Shukran as well as some other waitresses, they were all great and even got us some extra sandwiches. My second time visiting the Coral Room and it was great again

Booked a table for my anniversary with my boyfriend and was such a shame because the vibe was so nice and the cocktails were okay but we had horrible service! The brunette lady at the front desk was really rude and abrupt. She tried to tell us we didn’t have a table when I told her we were there for drinks and then when I told her we had a booking she seemed really reluctant to give us a table despite me literally booking this in advance a couple of days ago. Also told another waiter that we wanted to split the bill and she didn’t listen and put the full charge on one card, barely apologised and ran off hahaha. Heads up to anyone going that if you run into a mean brunette front of house receptionist — you’ll probably have to beg her for a table even if you have a booking 😂 Seems like some people have had great experiences here so just depends on who you run into!

We went to this bar every day during our stay, special thanks to Jasmine who treated us with a really special care, always smiling, professional and available for any demand. If I could recommend some of the dishes we had, it would be the ceviche, the croquettes, the buttermilk chicken and the parmesan and truffle fries. Thanks to all the staff, especially the two Johns, Hannah, Marie and Shukran. Every cocktail we had was fantastic, great quality drinks and products were used.

Wide selection of cocktails and they were pretty nice Love the ambience but the music was quite loud (live DJ) on a Friday night so it’s probably not a good place to chat😂 Service was good ☺️
