Carrots + Daikon in Camden

We loved our lunch at Carrots and Daikon yesterday. I had the garlic tofu Banh mi and my husband had the tofu lunch box. The baguette forming my Banh mi was the perfect combination of crunch with a soft centre and the tofu was nicely garlicky. What really made our day were the ice creams! The chrysanthemum and mango ice cream was such a fantastic combination and the matcha and pistachio was delicious too. We then bought one of each of the other flavours and I must admit that the combinations are creative genius! Who would’ve thought that mint choc chip would go with coffee and raspberry and jasmine tea with its floral notes would hit the spot?! I thought that the coconut and lemongrass was super refreshing too. Thank you to the friendly folk at C & D.

I live locally and am a regular here. Everything on the menu is great, but the pork or tofu lunch boxes with noodles are the best I think.

I had the pho veggie noodle soup and it was really good! It also came it a quarter lime, The soup was really hot what is perfect for take away. Recommend 100%

Awesome take away food on the healthy side of things. They only have 3-4 options that can be mixed and matched with sauces and salad/noodles, this makes it easy for indecisive people, like me. All options are tasty, so you cannot go wrong. It's a shame that they are not open for dinner.

As it says on the counter ‘Viet Comfort Food’. Completely delicious, healthy and very good value for money. As Giles Coren says, the Vegetarian Pho is addictive. Cannot praise it highly enough! Very friendly and helpful staff. If I could fit in more I’d eat it all again.

As someone who has an affinity for Vietnamese food, I feel very lucky to have found this place as it does not disappoint and has lead me to be a returning customer who always leaves satisfied. I have been here 5 or 6 times and have been making my way through the menu and have not had a bad meal yet. The Pho is fresh and flavorsome and very authentic, as close to Vietnam as you can get in London. Keep up the good work, guys!

We have had takeaway from here a lot and always find the food amazingly fresh, even after travel. We decided to go in as a family to eat and were not disappointed. Incredibly friendly staff, very helpful and knowledgeable about food allergies (I can’t eat gluten). The food as always was great and their recommendations on different dishes for us to try were spot on. We absolutely love this place!

Nous avons trouvé par hasard ce petit restaurant convivial. C’était vraiment excellent ! Nous avons pris des vegetable spring rolls et prawn summer rolls, un beef pho et un caramelised pork. Rien à redire, autant pour la qualité de la nourriture, le bon rapport qualité/prix et la gentillesse du personnel.

Decided to visit this restaurant before a gig at the O2 Kentish Forum across the street and I’m so glad we did. Thanks to their Call & Collect service we were able to place our orders in the black cab and have it ready for us when we got there. We tried the Caramelised Pork Baguette & Crispy Pork Vietnamese Dinner with Noodles. Both were delicious and very filling. Everything is cooked fresh on site & is clearly very popular as a few dishes had already run out. The restaurant can only house about 10 sit-in customers but has a takeaway service so you can enjoy anywhere. Will definitely recommend to friends.

I really think you can’t get better Pho that here. The broth is so delicious and flavoursome - I’ve only had better in Viet Nam itself! As for the home made chilli sauce - phenomenal!

Fresh ingredients, delicious seasoning, and prices are reasonable, but I found the tofu (which was the generic, pre-fried variety) lacked any flavour and its texture was not appealing. I wish they had tempeh, seitan, or perhaps just more strongly marinaded firm tofu as veggie protein options. I occasionally eat meat and would probably not order their vegetarian meals again.

Having spent a few weeks in Vietnam recently, we more than occasionally get a hankering for some authentic Vietnamese food. Was very happy to find this place! They do proper banh mi with pate among other things, decent value too.Mostly a takeaway affair with some limited seating inside. I do with they were open on weekends though! We would visit more frequently if this were the case. Also I can't find a home delivery option which is a shame.

This place is simply amazing! Ticks off everything right with a great happiness. So tasty, inexpensive, quick to serve, friendly staff members, great services, interesting menu, good explanations about their food and so on. I live just down the road. But for me, I am always looking forward to going there to get my Vietnamese lunch/dinner whenever I feel like it! My favorites are the chicken pho and the caramelised pork vermicelli. I must note that their BBQ roasted pork (yummy) is always selling fast. And there’s always a queue during their peak lunch hours. But that’s just a sign of how good they really are. I personally think that NW5 has quite a few small nice places around but Carrots + Daikon is definitely my No.1 favorite place!

I really liked the place - the food is delicious with all the ingredients being fresh, healthy and delicious. I had caramelised pork baguette which was marvelous - a seemingly simple dish was unbelievably tasty. Meat, vegetables and the bun - everything was very tasty. The staff are very nice as well.

They hardly ever seem to be open but the food is outstandingly good. Really fresh ingredients, beautifully presented.

The food is all delicious and so fresh. I wish there was more space to sit, or the Heath was a little closer!

I go here at least once a week for lunch. The chicken Pho is outstanding - I can’t get enough of it! It’s a must for anyone who lives or works in the area.

I have been to Vietnam and the Pho was as good as some of the food i ate out there. So authentic and the flavors and smells took me back to Vietnam. The fresh chili ads a real kick to the Pho as it should do (you can exclude if you want).

I often visit here to pick-up some lunch. They have a simple menu with 4 or 5 core options but you can personalise each option with a different protein selection and garnishes. My personal favourite is the Naked Salad with tofu which is incredibly tasty (even for a salad!). You get to choose some of your toppings but the whole dish is packed with fresh, tasty ingredients. Highly recommend it. My only gripe is the cost is a bit steep just for lunch. The Pho in particular seems a bit steep which may be because there isn't too much choice nearby. As a treat once a week though, this place is great!

Lovely food, good value for money. The bahmi was amazing. I had the caramelised pork, and my partner had the king prawn. Make sure you add in their in house pate to your roll - it definitely makes the bun! Would definitely return.

Just wanted to thank Carrots and Daikon for the tasty, well presented, professionally delivered Vietnamese BANH MI lunch for 30 of us today - It went down brilliantly and was enjoyed by all - No complaints at all :)

Básicamente viven al otro lado de la calle de este pequeño restaurante y vaya aquí tan a menudo como puedo. La comida y los empleados son encantadores. Los ingredientes son frescos y las recetas son sanas y caseras. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar para la cocina saludable vietnamita. Mi visita a zanahorias + Daikon fue fantástico! Tuve la fuerte quinoa con cerdo, miel, que era delicioso, y el personal era genial. No puedo esperar a volver y probar más de la increíble selección! Perfecto también para veganos y vegetarianos.

This nice small Vietnamese shop has some amazing dishes to pick from. I've come to this place on a number of my lunch breaks and it doesn't disappoint. If you love Vietnamese food then this is a place to visit.

I discovered this place one day I had to eat out of the office, it opened a few days ago and they were still getting used to serve a lot of people. With the time they improved the service and the menu and now is the place I always go when I don't take my lunch to work. The staff is amazing and also the food is. 100% recommended.

I had food from this place many many times (mainly delivered) never been disappointed and the staff are very nice and polite.

I'm a regular here (to the point I have to resist from visiting once a week for lunch) and the food is delicious. The lunch boxes are always packed to the brim and they are generous with the sauce. The Banh mis are also very satisfying although you don't get as much meat in it as the lunch boxes. The honey caramelised pork is by far the best and consistently good!I recommend you ask for a loyalty card regardless if it's your first time as I'm sure you'll be returning!

Best Vietnamese Pho :) Service is fast, friendly and efficient, not more than 5-10 minutes wait which is handy for a quick dinner. It's a small resturant so not very good for large groups.Great options for people with wheat and gluten allergy.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally got round to it, and now i've had it twice in a few days. The food is so good, and the staff are amazing friendly, but in a completely genuine way. You can also order for delivery, and the delivery driver is an absolute legend.

I often come here for dinner as it is close to my office. My colleagues and I love the PHO they make. It is a tiny place but you can eat in or takeaway. Once accidentally met Ed Miliband waited for takeaway here as well.

I have it either in a baguette or in the rice box, both which are really tasty. The tofu baguette is really satisfying. I have it without mayonnaise and with chilli sauce, I could eat this all day.The only criticism I have is there could be more veggies in the rice box. Altogether good value for money, and great if you're on a quick lunch break and want something satisfying.

After reading the previous reviews I had high expectations. The food was not terrible but not great. It was good as an alternative to fast food but not great for pho or bun.

Popped in for brunch on a Saturday and loved every mouthful. Honey glazed pork was succulent and delicious, complimented perfectly with fresh salad, noodles and sauce. Staff are lovely too.

It's a small cafe but with very tasty authentic Vietnamese food. This is my new favourite place to eat in KT. The honey roast pork Bahn Mi sandwich with chicken pate is delicious and probably my favourite thing on the menu. We also ordered food from here for delivery which was quick, efficient and very friendly staff who dropped off the food.

Pas très loin de la gare, très propre, personnel accueillant, plat excellent. Ils font plutôt des plats à emporter car il n'y a qu'une seule table pour manger sur place. J'ai essayé leur soupe et j'ai vraiment retrouvé les saveurs des plats du Cambodge. Nous avons pris également les lunch boxes au poulet. C'était très bon. Le poulet fond dans la bouche. Je recommande également les rouleaux de printemps. Tout cela pour un pris très raisonnable.

And for only £10. If you like coffee, must try their Vietnamese dripped ice coffee. The staff couldn't be more friendly, the place is small, maybe 10-15 seated and I bet when the weather is bad, people fight for those chairs!It is not fine dinning, if it wasn't for the reviews I might have walked past it, thanks God I didn't!Had the bun cha brunch and it was glorious, you have to mix the ingredients but that makes it good fun. The pho here is amazing. Amazingly light and delicate. Also the portions are huge, you can have one between two! The summer spring rolls are also a must. Perfect for a takeout with a difference. So pleased at this new addition to Kentish Town

I am somewhat a regular here. I've only ever been in for lunch, given I work nearby, and I must say it is always delicious. The ingredients are fresh, colourful and full of flavour. I'm a huge fan of the pho, but everything I've tried is excellent. Couldn't recommend it enough for a quick, lovely, refreshing meal!

We went to Carrots + Daikon on a Sunday with my boyfriend, he had the brunch and I had a pho. Both were really good, and you could easily taste how fresh both the meat and the vegetable were! I will come back!

Don't think I ever had Vietnamese food before Carrots + Daikon came to Kentish Town, and now I will make sure to have it when I see it.I go at least once or twice a week, and every time I do, it's absolutely rammed inside. You can sometimes wait for 10 minutes just to get served, which is a great measure of how consistently good the food is, that people keep coming back. When they initially opened, they didn't do vegetarian food. Now they have Tofu based Pho and Lunch Boxes, which are both really great. Food is hot, delicious and authentic, all made in front of you without shortcuts.Staff are also very nice. They know people's names, and on the odd occasion that they've made a mistake, they've instantly refunded and rectified the mistake. Only demerit, is the vegetarian Pho is the same price as all the meat ones. I'd think it would be slightly cheaper, and I'd certainly have it more regularly if it was. (As of now, it's £7).

The food here is absolutely delicious and always tastes fresh. A particular highlight is the Bun Cha brunch on Saturdays with oodles of grilled pork, noodles and fresh chilli sauce, but we haven't tried anything that hasn't been good. It's also great to have a local takeaway that doesn't mean an unhealthy dinner. We just moved into the area and this is our favourite find by far.

Simple home cooked Vietnamese cuisine. Really good portion sizes and delicious food. Inexpensive. Attentive staff to boot.

I know Vietnamese food well having travelled extensively there and the food here is as good as I have had. The big challenge with Vietnamese food in the UK is sourcing the same quality of ingredients that they use in Vietnam, especially the herbs! This is a small place great for grabbing a takeaway and they have some pre prepared food such as fresh summer roles. Other Vietnamese classics such as filled baguettes, pho and salads. They do a Vietnamese night (Bun Cha' feast) every Monday 18.00 - 19.30 but you have to book for this. Otherwise you can drop in and there are about 10 seats available. The majority of menu items were freshly cooked to order. Prices range from Pho £7, Honey and Caramelised Pork £7, Baguettes £5-6 and Fresh Summer Rolls x2 £3. Highly recommended.

If you’re local you must try this place out, I have been eating here for a while now and the food is delicious. It’s very small inside only having a few places to eat so don’t turn up with a large group of friends as there won’t be anywhere to sit down. I had their BBQ pork baguette today which tasted incredible; in fact everything I have sampled there has been superb, the food is always really fresh. The staff are also really friendly and the food is very reasonably priced. I can’t praise this place enough, give it a try you won’t be disappointed. In my opinion it’s one of the best places to grab a bit to eat locally.

We grabbed a snack in C&D before seeing a gig in the Forum. A small cafe with a few seats to the front, primarily set up for take-aways.Great fresh food. Banh mi made with amazing crusty french baguette, just enough heat and choice of protein filling. Accompanied with crispy spring rolls. Perfect and highly recommended.Cheap, quick, healthy, fresh and tasty. Great staff also!

Favourite spot in all of London, really great healthy food. The raw beef flank Pho is amazing! Really, everything on the menu is great. The fried prawn Vietnamese dinner is a firm favourite, they've even made salads delicious with the addition of Sriracha hummus which will blow your mind! Better Vietnamese food than I had in Vietnam incidentally!

What an excellent addition to Kentish Town, I can only praise this little cafe. Very reasonable prices and the food is brilliant! We had some spring and prawn summer rolls to share, and also crispy belly pork and chilli salted prawns with bun noodles for mains = all was flavoursome, fresh and deliciously tasty. Whole place is clean, friendly and welcoming. Nice to see for a change people do what they love with pride. Top marks from us!

Not sure what their secret ingredient is but the chicken pho is amazing. Slippery rice noodles with fantastic chicken and some sriracha is a fantastic combination.

Went here this afternoon after hearing good things. Got a big bowl of raw beef pho and it was delicious and full of beautiful flavours. Really enjoyed it and will be back because I need to try a lemongrass chicken baguette.

Cannot fault this little place! The menu is fresh, tasty and to the point. Quality meals over quantity of choice is always best in my books. The staff are so great and you can tell they really love what they are serving you. A perfect addition to Kentish Town's ever growing independent food offerings. Highly recommend the spring rolls - so light and flavoursome.

I highly recommend this awesome cute Viet cafe! The food is super affordable, you can buy a meal and a side for under £10! Best of all the food is really really tasty. I had the lemongrass chicken with bun (noodles), the chicken was so good it was deliciously flavourful and succulent. I also had their prawn summer rolls which were also really good with their hoisin sauce! Everyone who works here was also super friendly, lovely and welcoming - definitely passionate about their food too which is always a bonus. I will definitely be back to try more food maybe a banh mi next time!

This opened just 5 minutes walk from where I live and I love the food. The crisp-crumbed, fresh baguette was stuffed with shredded tender smoky bbq'd pork. Strips of pickled daikon and carrot, topped with fresh coriander gave a bright burst of flavours. I was sorry there were no tables inside, or home delivery, but the owners are working towards those.

This tiny Vietnamese cafe is at the Kentish Town end of Highgate Road. The Phô (noodle soup with a choice of veg and meat) and the Būn (thin rice vermicelli) are beautifully and delicately flavoured. My Vietnamese Lunch box with fresh vegetables, bbq pork and sticky rice was fragrant and delicious. What a treat! My only complaint is their opening hours - currenty 12 noon to 8 pm. The prices are also very reasonable.If you live or work nearby please go and give yourself a truly delightful takeaway meal.

Came here with a few friends following a recommendation, it certainly did not let me down. The summer rolls were freshly made and my honey roast pork rice was simply exquisite. My friend was also raving about her raw beef pho. You could tell that this is a true genuine business that really cares about their food from the fresh ingredients to the friendly and warm staff. Portion sizes were decent as well as the prices. Will need to come back again to sample more of the menu! Absolutely top class.

Being half vietnamese I wanted to check this place out if this would be as close to my family home food. Such a cute little place with the family cooking away as if you have walked into their home. I loved it. I had summer rolls of course which never fails, it was yummy so that made me happy. The specials which I tried was the curry, it was delish but I felt it could go a bit more extra in terms of taste. I will definitely return to try all the other dishes as I will happily eat everything on the menu.

This is a new venture started by 2 friends. They currently have a limited menu..but it may grow! It is mainly a take-away...and I ordered their Pho...choice of raw beef flank,brisket or chicken...I had the raw beef version. Also had Summer Rolls..choice is pork,prawn or tofu...I had pork. They also do Banh Mi with a variety of fillings..which I shall go back to try!! The Summer Rolls with a peanut dip were excellent. However...the Pho came without the usual aromatic leaves which made it a bit bland. Pity,because the portion size was very good. Prices very acceptable...but they do not yet have credit card facilities so bring cash. As I said....I will go back!!
