What a lovely place for breakfast! The staff were really friendly and the coffee and bacon sandwich was yummy.
There's quite a lot of choice in Orpington for breakfast, but I will definitely be going back to The Bakehouse. Great atmosphere and really clean. The coffee was served hot and was very tasty. The prices are really good too!

Excellent local Indian to go to with top customer service. So polite and such attention to detail.
I adore this place it is like an old fashioned Indian restaurant where customer service and a high level of performance are still in the meal. The table is decorated really well and they make sure to change your table cloth if it gets dirty before desert. There is close attention to your needs, a polite attentiveness around getting you extra drinks and checking everything is OK with your meal.
The food is exquisite. The chicken i have here is always succulent. The rice is always cooked well. The food has enough flavour without being over spiced.
I have frequently been offered little extras like a little tipple at the end of my meal for free. I have also had a free hot towel and mint at the end of service.
They never fail to treat you like an old friend here and I got that service from the first time I visited over a year ago. Please support this fantastic place that truly cares about the experiences of its customers.
It was our first experience at Sonargaon. We were a team of 13 people and we all were welcomed and made us very comfortable. We were happy with the service provided to us. The staff and the manager looked after us throughout the night. Thank you so much for giving our NHS team a fantastic Christmas celebration experience. You guys are fabulous 🎉🎉🎉
Upon reading the background story of the restaurant, I couldn’t agree more with the story of the original founder and the concept of a family enterprise back in 2018.
Up until some time last year, the feeling of a family run, professional service was very, very clear. Has Bruno sold this restaurant? We are regulars to A Mano and have noticed a dramatic difference in the level of service since the latter half of 2024.
It’s probably not necessary to go into detail about declining levels of service. Sadly, it’s going from bad to worse. Hopefully a member of the new management will read and interpret this as a constructive review. I’ve put this review off for quite a while but it’s very obvious that the poor service is more than staff having an off night. Most of the time we dine there, we’re the only ones there for at least an hour. The service is inattentive and poor. No exaggeration.
First visit. You have to choose what you want and then go order (and pay in advance) at the counter. My husband had egg and bacon toasted sandwich (£7.60) and I had what was listed as a BLT... (£6.45) plus a pot of tea for 2 for £5, bring the total to £19.05, pre-tip, which is a bit expensive in my book, but I don't mind if it's good. See photos of my so-called BLT. The photo of it less the lettuce looks a bit unappetising - to me at least, but just look at that lettuce which I took out of the sandwich, as I wouldn't give it to a healthy rabbit, let alone a sick one. Just truly awful. Limp, blackened, yucky, decomposing. My husband was disappointed with his sandwich, too. The bread wasn't up to much and suffice to say we shan't be returning. (Tea was fine!).
Went for lunch yesterday and the meal was superb. We’ve been there three times in the last year and each time the food has been excellent and the staff really good.
It was so good we have booked in for their Sunday lunch - which I’ve heard is very good.

1st time I’ve been to The Village Fish & Chips this evening. Ordered standard cod, chips & mushy peas and have to say I’m impressed! Absolutely delicious & generously portioned fillet of cod with large white flakey chunks in light crispy batter, chips golden brown & crisp with a light fluffy centre. Just the way they should be! All cooked fresh and piping hot! Ok it’s pricey, a whopping £17 for large cod chips & peas but these guys know how to do it right! Top marks to the village! Very happy customer and will return very soon!

the food was ok and had flavour, unfortunately that's where it ended it was stone cold upon arrival, popadoms were definitely stale and soggy along with the nan bread , the main dishes were ok but probably would have been nice if it tasted fresher
Wife and I visited for breakfast. Staff very friendly and attentive and food was yum! Coffee was also very good.
Can get very busy - but only evidences of above.
PS the cakes look amazing.
