Have to say it’s one of the best fish and chips I’ve had! I don’t recommend the cheesy chips though. The cheese isn’t melted, and won’t melt from chip heat alone.

1st time I’ve been to The Village Fish & Chips this evening. Ordered standard cod, chips & mushy peas and have to say I’m impressed! Absolutely delicious & generously portioned fillet of cod with large white flakey chunks in light crispy batter, chips golden brown & crisp with a light fluffy centre. Just the way they should be! All cooked fresh and piping hot! These guys know how to do it right! Top marks to the village! Very happy customer and will return very soon!

Consistently fantastic food, whether it be a kebab (fresh, tender and delicious), a piece of fish or a battered sausage. The chips are cooked to absolute perfection. Best kebab/chippy in the area by a mile.

Someone said don’t go there it’s rubbish. Well proof everyone’s experience is not the same. Chicken kebab, such big juicy pieces we always get chips etc from here but first time on chicken kebab. Fresh salad and juicy chunky well seasoned chicken. Sorry about half eaten pic was enjoying it too much 😄

In 13.5 years in the UK, I only started eating Fish & Chips a couple of months ago (I admit because of prejudgements and my own biases towards fish in general). But the shop is something else! Clean, oh so clean, the way you are treated (my own experience), the food, the quantities you are served (do not bother with large orders, you'll barely be able to finish the small/regular - and believe me I'm a big eater). To be brief, that shop is the best. Oh and I forgot (not that it matters in light if what I just said, the prices are... well, do I need to say it!) If you live in the area, make it at least a monthly stop. If you don't you'll be missing out! Congratulations to the owners, know that you have in me a dedicated customer! Well done and keep it up.

Ordered food from just eat, guy turns up, open food - completely wrong order. After logging issue, and then ringing the place themselves, turns out they put the wrong ticket on the order. Fair enough, said it would be coming shortly. Rang again 15 mins later, no progress, but said they still had our order and would be coming. Another 15 -20 mins later, rang again, apparently "the order was completed" so they actually wouldn't be sending it. We had someone else's food, and live less than 10 mins from the place, and it takes 3 attempts to establish they wouldn't send the food after all. Wonderful service.

Absolutely rubbish via just eat. Wrong food delivered, so many hoops to prove totally incorrect and still no food !!!! I'm never going to order from this establishment again. Booo

Zero customer service when we called politely to let you know YOUR driver brought the wrong food. Not interested in rectifying or replacing so we won’t be ordering from this place ever again. Seems you are losing customers left and right lads!

Best fish & chip shop in Bromley…. Fish always cooked fresh…. I pass about 10 other fish & chip shops on my way to this one….that’s how good it is….staff are always spot on too 👍

Great food and very good value for money.

2145 on a Saturday and the light's are off and the staff are mopping up; can't rely upon a place that closes whenever it feels like. What used to be good food has also taken a downward spiral. *Current fish chef uses something similar to pancake batter as opposed to a lighter, crispier batter. This was not always the case. Fried fish batter needs to be thin and crispy. *Prices are high; it's £7.50 for a small lamb Doner now. I've also had an upset stomach the last 3 times I've eaten it. There are cheaper and better kebabs available for delivery locally. *The chips are still fantastic but best part £3 a portion. I understand the current financial climate affects everyone but this is extortionate. I wait until Friday now and get my fish and chips from the Billingsgate van outside Shortlands train station. It's better quality and worth the wait. If using Justeat order from j&d kebab 2. Cheaper kebabs, open later, tastier and doesn't upset your stomach.

Wow! Incredible fish and chips!! until now I have struggled to find a decent chippie in London, but this is most definitely it! Chips are absolute perfection, soft but crispy, and definitely not soggy or greasy in any way. Will be ordering more from here!

Best food and service for miles! The staff are so friendly and polite and cook fish to order. The place is always clean with ample seating to eat in if desired. The burgers and very tasty and they don’t scrimp on the chips!

Oily fish, not singing of freshness, oil maybe overused. Chips not great. New owners who have turned it into a kebab bar. Will not return

Purchased food at the Village Fish and Chips Poor Quality and Taste. The chips whilst cooked fresh were in-used oil and the smell of the oil permeated the chips. The chips themselves were soggy. Very different to previous purchases. That said this F&C shop can be really good.

Chicken Shish is the tastiest ever and best chips in the area!

Probally the best fish and chips around. Friendly staff. Can eat in although only a few tables. Fish and chips cooked to perfection, quality cod fish and potatoes. Mushy peas also very good. Highly recommended. Parking can be a bit tricky.

I went on Friday, today is Tuesday and I'm still thinking about how tasty the fish and chips were. It's a very popular place based on the queue when I arrived but it's really worth it. I don't know why I've been walking to one further away when this is absolute great. The chips were freshly cooked and the batter on the cod that I had was light and crispy with a lovely colour. Definitely one of the best fish and chips I've had in London.

They do amazing chips but it's either both salt & vinegar or none, asked for just salt a handful of times and get vinegar Friendly staff don't mind fixing the error however!

Best fish and chips I've ever had!!! We ordered scampi and chips along with rock and chips. While it was quite pricey, it was absolutely worth it and I definitely will be returning!!! The chips were cooked perfectly to how I like them and were quite chunky. The rock was enormous too! Went down a treat, thank you!

Certainly the best chippy I've ever encountered in London. I'm used to fish and chips from Portsmouth where the competition is fierce. The Cod is the freshest I would have expected this far from the ocean.

Went here for the first time this evening for fish and chips. We all thought the food was great and will be definitely be back to try them again! Great service in difficult times

Unhelpful stuff , ordered a kebab which comes with salad, they only gave lettuce, I called up to tell them and they simply said it’s because I didn’t leave a note saying all salad and that other customers don’t like having all salad. I know it’s standard to have all salad because I’ve ordered from this place many times before and they had always given a full salad without any notes as would any other place . I wouldn’t mind Normally but the attitude and dismissiveness of the staff made my experience really sour. I wouldn’t mind a simple apology instead of trying to pin the blame on me. Food is decent , staff need to training in customer services.

Kebabs were delivered with no salad and When called and asked for a reason they were really rude and told us we must request salad. Since when does kebab comes with no salad? We had to eat a dry kebab.

STAY CLEAR! Extremely rude staff when trying to correct an order they messed up. Only a tiny bit of lettuce was given instead of the full salad. Called up explaining that, and they responded with 'We only give full salad when you request it' which is false because 1) a standard kebab comes with all salad unless stated otherwise 2) I have order from here before and never had a problem. They did not care at all, were extremely rude and condescending. When I explained that I will be leaving a bad review, staff replied with 'Go ahead'. Will not be ordering from here again.

It's so hard to find a fish and chips shop that give you fresh chips on each visit. Keep up the high standards to everyone at The Village Fish & Chips.

It was the best piece of plaice I have had in years. I even went back to the shop after my meal to say thank you to them and that is the first time ever I have gone back to a fish and chip shop for that reason EVER. I can Highly recommend the food and friendly service.

Were super friendly. Switched to eat in when they realised we were going to with absolutely no fuss.

Despite what reviews say, I've never had a bad meal at Village Fish and Chips! Cod fillets are always a good size with a lovely crispy batter and the chips are always perfectly done. My mum and I usually share a cod and chips and it's enough for us, so very good value for money. Good decent of curry sauce for the price as well. Always had service with a smile too!

Love this plaice (see what I did there!?) Can honestly say, I have never had a bad experience here. The premises are spotless, the food is ALWAYS fresh, hot, tasty and well presented and the staff are professional and attentive to their customers requirements. Highly recommend a visit here whether you are local or not! Simple as that!
