Popped by, they had a certificate on the door for having the best chips in the area...they certainly do. Very welcoming and warm environment. Everything is halal! Chicken shish was juicy and delicious. Will be back again.

Really enjoyed our lamb doner and lamb ribs. Delicious. Also had live music, which was great.

This was the most disgusting meat i have ever eaten ... i have tried a lot of turkish restaurants but this one was the most expencive one the meat was old and sticky i had a desert as well wich was also 0/10 .. I wont return there for sure nothing special about the resturant , soo expencive and the food is not ok !

I'm writing this comment in the heat of the moment, brother, so that you remember me. I don't write many reviews, but I either recommend a wonderful place or if I really regret it, I write so that people may be looking at comments like me. Today I bought my motorcycle helmet and 2 wraps of Adana from you. I wanted to try it because of the comments. I'll be honest, I threw away 33 pounds. When I opened the food, I thought there was a small hair inside, like an eyelash, so I wouldn't get caught up in it. All the salads I told you about are wrong. For example, in one I said it had only greens and it was full of onions, in the other I said there would be no tomatoes but it has all of them. I said I don't want sauce, both of them are full of spicy food, and I added that we are not people who eat spicy food. Here's a little advice, it's important, take note. It is not difficult, write down what you want, other orders come and the human condition gets confused. If you take notes, it also gives the appearance of a professional place. The flavor was like a fatty soup, we couldn't eat much of the hot sauce anyway. For your information.

Thought the chicken shish would be £10.50 as advertised online but then as went to restaurant it ended up being £18.50. Seems like miss-advertising online. Flavour was good not worth £18.50 though should be more like £12.

Dont pay £5 for the salad. Its the same one as the free one and it was missing onions as mentioned in description. Meat was very dry

As soon as we walked in we felt very welcome by the warm and friendly greeting. The lentil soup, hummus and bread we had as starters were fresh and delicious, as was the chicken saute and chicken shish for our mains. Generous portions, good prices and lovely service throughout our experience. Would recommend and will be back!

Ates Mangal is an absolute gem of a place, I’m so glad we found it! Went with my dad for a last minute meal and the welcome we got was so warm and friendly. The best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant, it’s so lovely to see people who genuinely love their jobs. And the food was outstanding - the garlic mushroom starter and chicken shish were particular favourites, we could’ve licked the plates clean! We’re already looking forward to coming back again

Well... one star because I paid a few pennies under £20 for a mixed shish with rice, and I got 3 pieces of chicken, 3 lamb, a generous portion of rice, and a salad where they gave me bonus the core of the lettuce. Overall, it was just a poor customer experience, shame as the taste was not bad, but the price didn't reflect the quality and the quantity.

Would have given more stars but the meat portions are so small it’s offensive to be honest. Paying that amount of money isn’t worth it.

Food quality was OK but I was shocked by the portion size. I ordered a £16 mix shish and I was served a big plate of vegetable, salad, chips and 6 of the smallest pieces of meat: 3 cube pieces each of chicken and lamb. I have never before been served such a small meat portion at a Turkish place. In all other places I would either be struggling to finish or get the food packed however here it felt more like starters. I actually came home and cooked another meal for myself. Also on giving thr feedback I was told by the waitress that she has given thr same feedback to the restaurant but they don't listen. Surely it's a sin if your customer is hungry for another meal straight after and I am an avg lean guy. Never going back again. My mistake to convince my wife to try this over Our Kitchen which is next door.

Chicken was tough and wasn't freshly cut. Rest of the food was edible but not great.

WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER.. Had not got our reservation online. Not until I rang that they made our booking. When we got there we made our orders but then left out of two meals out of six. Picking away at other people’s food eventually asked where are food was that they started to cook it. When it arrived it was under cooked.. Then asked for the bill the service charge was still on there even thought they had screwed up. Bill was £240 for 6 of us some of us drinking others not. Then realised that one of the meals that they hadn’t delivered was still on the bill. There were also no dips yogurt etc just meat and a tiny bit of salad l. All the way through this we had a guitar screeching through our earholes. Would have been a more sophisticated experience if we sat in a car park with a four pack and a kebab of our choice. Make your own mind up but I bet you wish you didn’t try it.

Taramasalata didn't really taste of fish and the meat was quite tough.

I’ve eaten here twice now and on both occasions I was shocked at how quiet the place was, perhaps it’s the days I choose to eat out. I say shocked because the food was great as is the friendly and polite service we received. Everything tastes fresh and is well prepared. I’d also say the price is very reasonable given the standard of the food. The Turkish bread is so delicious, make sure you leave room for your main meal!

Great Service tonight from Ates, it’s a pity they don’t do the version of the Kemer Shish which costs a little more but had peppers and onions with the chicken or lamb.

Can’t fault this place. First time here and not the last. Friendly and fast service, the food is delicious. Saturday has live music and the guy with the acoustic guitar was great and added to the relaxed atmosphere. Can’t wait to go again.

I wasnt sure what to expect as it was my first time at this place. We had the mixed platter and it was amazing! Service was great! To top it all off, the Baklava was the best I have ever had. Will definately be back. 👌

Enjoyed a really fantastic meal at Ates mangal Meze bar tonight. From start to finish the service was so friendly and fun - just perfect. Prices represent such great value and everything I ate - from the Turkish bread, the grilled veggies to the chocolate ice cream and baklava - was truly delicious. Really great place to get a relaxed and tasty meal.

Loved it here. Very unassuming, but really great Turkish food on offer. The portions are big, and the flavours are spot on. I had the adana and it was so tasty. Also had the baklava for dessert and it was sensational. The Turkish bread and Turkish tzatziki is amazing. Really beautiful food in a nice place with such friendly staff. Good prices too.

This is the second time we have received a partial order from the team at Ates, let’s hope they introduce some form of control between kitchen and orders going out 😞 Good food when the service is right 👍🏽

Went to this restaurant with new owners, as the one we were planning to go to was closed. What a treat! I am very glad we did. The chef outdid himself cooking the meat. Quite the best lamb Shish I have tasted. Service was friendly and very helpful and for anyone with an 'ability' issue the toilet is perfect in size. Enjoyed it very much. Recommend you try it out!

Excellent customer service from the restaurant, they immediately rectified an error to the order which arrived shortly afterwards. The food was extremely tasty, however there wasn't enough sauce with the family special which was the only downside but will ensure I request more in my next order as that was a minor blip that can easily be rectified in my next order.

We got deliveroo. Really delicious food & good portions. Only comment is that the humous doesn’t say it comes with pitta so we ordered x1 pitta too many. Not the end of the world :) & there was no way to choose our soft drinks. But, the main event; the food, was delicious!! The aubergine salad was divine!
