Tom Bell's Traditional Fish and Chips in Bromley

Food was great except for the fish. We ordered rock but it was terrible, they delivered two small pieces of batter that we couldn’t eat. Shame as everything else was delish.

Ignoring the 5* reviews by people who obviously own the place, quite the most disgusting chips we’ve had. Cold, bad potatoes, hard but soggy! Please go out of business so someone somewhere can give us quality food!

This is the second time we have ordered from here. Both times food was delicious.

Every time I call and ask them pls put salt and vinegar on the chips and fish it never happens!!!!!! They don’t do lemon slices And the grease on the fish and chips was insane. Will not ever be ordering from here again 😞

Great traditional fish & chip shop. More importantly, the owners and staff are friendly and polite. Nothing worse than buying food from ill mannered take aways. Which means, I am recommending this place.

The food arrived approximately 10 mins early which was good for us and was still hot.

The food was great but rather too expensive. Just for a piece of fish (no chips included) £11.- plus delivery £2.49 and service charge of 5% is rather steep.

This was the best fish and chips I've had for a long time. Cod was crispy and tasty. Rock was perfectly fried. Batter was great. Chips were cooked well and still crunchy when we received the food. Onion rings were amazing

Chips tastes cold and stale, like the were not fresh and had been cooked along time ago! Curry sauce was sooo thick and salty as anything(not edible) Fish cake was sloppy!

Cod was lovely. Big flakes of fish falling off. Battered sausage good a big thumbs up from the kids. Very tasty. Chips were delicious. Staff very friendly. Been going here for years. Always been excellent.

Most weeks the chips are fantastic but today and last Saturday they were a bit less flavoursome, possibly a bit undercooked. Not sure if they're using different oil or different potatoes but I hope the chips return to their usual high standard. The fish and sausage were great though.

Had a haddock and it was yummy and full meal size. Staff is very polite and friendly fun loving people. Recommend this place for a fish. 👌👌👌

Staff always very polite and friendly, whether in person or when you call to order. Also, they have vegetarian options which they cook in separate oil, that is much appreciated.

Restaurant service and food were brill. As always actually as we do use Tom Bell in Hayes every now and again. To be frank there’s many places that we are eating at or getting food delivered from and are very happy with but JUST EAT let’s them all and us as customers down on regular basis as drivers not turning up at restaurants, being late, cancelling etc etc. We have decided enough is enough and will be deleting JUST EAT apps from our phones and won’t use again. Been let down too many times. I’d like to ask all the restaurants to stop using them to and move to other platforms as they’re are more reliable. JUST EAT should spend £5.3M I’m better customer service and infrastructure instead of paying for “hungry dog’s gotta eat” adverts. You’re doing it all wrong. Anyway, TOM BELL of Hayes, Kent. Your service was spot on. Food great as always and you don’t have to apologise for JUST EAT on the phone for messing with your customers and ultimately your business.

Good food, arrived hot and large portions.

Delivery time kept changing and when the food arrived it was lukewarm - very disappointing

The service from Just Eat was disgraceful. I waited over 2 hours and the restaurant owner was kept on hold with you where you refused to answer his call and arrange his collection. I rang to complain to you and was told I could get a £5 discount! This is totally unacceptable from Just Eat and I would like to know what you will do to compensate both me and the poor restaurant owner who ended up driving the order to me himself! I feel very strongly about how poorly Just Eat have dealt with this and await your response before posting on social media. Gary Dorman

I visited today as I do most days to be thoroughly embarrassed and hurt by the service given to me. I was waiting outside patiently to be served. When greeted was hello sir, I am a woman in full (looking closer at me) whatever it is you are He said! I walked in about to order when I decided that actually I don’t want to hand over my cash to someone who could be so discriminating And hurtful. So discriminating and not clued up to what harm there words can do. Shame because I liked going to this shop for my lunch.

Ordered food at 515pm for delivery at 7.30pm the food was delivered at 8.15pm. This is not the first time this has happened. What’s the point in giving delivery slots. I gave 2 hours and 15 mins notice and it was still late. I won’t be using just eat again.

I don't often get a chippy tea but when I do I always go here. In these difficult times I thought I'd spend my time at home bringing hopefully a smile to small business owners faces 😊 keep up the good work!

I work in Hayes now and again and had chicken and mushroom pie, chips and beans. All was very tasty, promptly prepared, fresh and I ate in. Great filling lunch and good service, could not ask for more.

to never return!!! I was being served another client order because the staff remove chips from the bag when they realised that large chip bag was for me. (I don't deserve the same amount off chips as other clients!)

Tom bells hayes - the chips taste of potato water and the fish is very oily and the batter on the sausage is very crispy and just falls apart have tried a few times but not for me

This is a great place. They cook your food to serve. Nothing hanging around in grease. The Cod and Rock were both fresh and tasty. The curry sauce was absolutely fantastic. The mushy peas were mushy..

We have been here a few times, and the food is generally good. However, when it's busy, the wait can be a long one. They are well organised, and know who ordered what food, and try to get you on your way as quickly as possible though. The portions are huge! My 7 year old's 'small' portion was that of an adult's! Prices are reasonable. Overall a good place.

It's a chip shop and it's got great food. These guys have been around for a while. I was pointed towards them one day when I had a hankering for fish and chips on the way home. Right next yo the station it's the perfect way to end the working week. They have a couple of tables inside but it's not like a normal restaurant. It's more of a take away than anything else. You can get your usual chip shop options plus a few extra ones like fried chicken. I cannot speak for their fried chicken. But their fish and chips are pretty spectacular. Staff here are great and very friendly. Like going to meet friends. Of all the times I have been I cannot say I have had one bad experience. One for the take out book, better put it in your top 10 for the area.

Been here many times - the Lunchtime Deals are good value. Been before and the chips were not as fresh or nice as the Chinese owned chip shop on Station Approach, Hayes but this time the chips were very good (and it's open longer). Friendly staff.

So we were visiting friends and family in the UK, and went to Whitby for a couple of days. We had three lots of fish and chips up there and none could hold a mushy pea to this place. Our fish here was crispy on the outside, firm on the inside and the chips done well!
