Hayes Village Fish Bar in Bromley

When this shop was under different management it was pretty dreadful but now it is excellent. Food was great - (well to be precise we only had their fish & chips but as that was really good I’m sure the rest is too!). The entire place looks spotless and the owners are particularly friendly and offer excellent service. Definitely happy to recommend.

Placed an order for delivery, got the wrong order and was told to contact Just Eat. Fish shop did not want to know. will not be ordering from them again. Still trying to get my money back

Fantastic Food, Wings were a 10 as well as Fat chips (with salt and vinegar) . 11/10. Only thing I would reccomend is they invest in an Air Conditioning Unit, place gets quite hot whilst eating inside. Overall 11/10!

I cannot recommend the Village Fish Bar highly enough. We asked for a delivery for a family party. The fish and chip order was delivered on time and all marked up so we could see whose order was whose. We were extremely impressed with our lunch!

Visited before Aldershot played at Bromley. 15 minute walk from ground. We were allowed to eat in, fish and chips 10/10, very very friendly family owning the business. Looked after like Kings- great place and food

I would definitely recommend this fish and chip shop, the fish is fresh and the batter is nice and crispy and not too greasy…chips are good too! Also the staff are very friendly….in my opinion the best fish and chips in Hayes 😊

Just got Cod, Scampi and large chips. The Cod was so good, crispy, non greasy, no skin and piping hot . The large chips were too big for a family of 4 but more importantly, they were good too. Just all tasted clean and fresh, no oily aftertaste. Really good chippy.

Don’t know where they think they are charging nearly 10 pound for cod and chips only to get home and find out we got like 10 chips bang out of order

Rubbish experience with this place. Not only did they have no fresh fish, but advised I would have to wait 20 mins for skate. If you cooked skate in a deep fat fryer for 20 mins, it’d look like charcoal, taste like charcoal smell like charcoal. The old man behind the counter was very rude too. They have recently upped their prices by around 20% unlike the chip shop outside Hayes station, who coincidentally managed to not only knock up some fresh skate for me, but it was ready with delicious chips and crispy batter in around 8 minutes for less money. I know exactly where I will be going from now on.

We eat from here regularly. They do gluten free batter for fish too! Definitely recommend. Tasty and not too greasy

Many years ago when I was in my first job and our boss described in detail this mega expensive restaurant he had been to. He elaborated on everyone of the 5 courses and the bill being more than I earned in 3 weeks. Then he said. “Mind you I get more pleasure out of a plate of fish and chips.” Well I don’t know if he had been to the Hayes Village Fish Bar but he could have. We enjoyed perfect fish beautifully cooked with a thin crunchy batter and an excellent portion of chips. And the extra bonus is it didn’t cost me 5he equivalent of 3 weeks wages. Ring them and place an order so you get it straight out of the pan and just enjoy.

Cracking traditional fish and chips with a good selection of different fish options too.

Charming owner just told me I shouldn't have ordered if I want not prepared to wait after I'd stood 30 minutes for one portion of chips. So, my review is, if you can't be bothered to wait 30 minutes for food, then don't order!

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They deliver. The food is well cooked and delicious. Note to nut allergies: They do NOT Use nut oil. I would recommend this establishment. I still go there regulary and am never disappointed. 04/07/2020

We all ordered large cod & chips. Comes in a box & is great quality and size. This is definitely worth a visit. I will certainly be returning again and again!

I go once or twice a month on Saturdays with my children to get our dinner. Friendly staff and great food, especially the fish with lovely crisp batter, and not too oily like many of the others I've tried in the area. Highly recommended.

I hate this shop. No Royal Crown Cola or nice chips. I personally traveled all the way from Marina Del Rey and was left disappointed. Trust my review.

Friendly, but even better, the quality is GREAT! Reasonable parking nearby. The lamb kebabs can only be described as "mmmmmmmmm Yummy!" Don't often eat fish, but when do, I don't go anywhere else in Hayes.

This takeaway is unfortunately a Jack of all trades and master of none , they cook chicken fish kebabs and chip it's not very good, the food is only good to the point of it won't kill you if you eat it.

Situated in the old village, this is the best chip shop in the area. Food is freshly cooked and delicious. Portions are generous, a small portion of chips easily feeds two. Service is friendly and always efficient. Delivery is also available.

I don't know what they cook their chips in , but they are the best. Good portions of fish , the Cod is excellent. Staff are a good laugh. Recommend.

I recently held my husbands 60th birthday party at the Ravens Bar in Bromley Football Club. This venue allowed me to take in our own food so we booked 100 portions of cod bites and chips to be delivered to the venue (actually we didn't even ask them to deliver, they offered). A friend took down cool bags earlier in the day and the fish and chips arrived spot on time, so hot we could hardly handle them. We portioned them into pre-bought cones and distributed them around the guests. It worked a treat with lots of really good comments about the quality of the food. That worked out just over £1.00 per head. Value for money, no curly sandwiches and fab service. Thank you for adding pleasure to a great evening. Karen
