Last delivery my fish was like eating cotton wool. Decided to have another go with a savaloy and chips, again disappointing as sausage was horrible and mushy, had to leave it uneaten I won’t make the same mistake a third time

Not their usual standard of food. The fish was frozen and unedible. ( It was the first day back from their summer holidays). After using Hayes Village Fish bar for a number of years I could not take the chance this would happen again.

We went to this establishment for a snack and the chips were very greasy for my friend who had sausage in batter and chips and I had chicken and chips and the chicken was bland and dry not cooked to perfection like someother chip shops we have been to in the past and certainly won't be going back there .

Ordered a Häagen-Dazs ice cream for £7 and got a supermarket basic brand one instead how is that acceptable?

our local fish and chip shop and luckily (for us ) I think it is the best in the area. Fish always freshly fried and the batter iis light and crispy. recommended.

Nice crispy batter. big piece of cod and loads of chips. importantly it didn't taste of old oil, and the fish was delicate and not overcooked. first time trying this place as wasn't happy with my usual chippy. would definately order again.

if the driver hadn't dropped 2 other order's to different addresses first. the food would have been lovely and hot. instead it was cold not good when you spent nearly 40 pound.

The burger was tiny and meat did not taste like beef. The chips were scrappy and nuggets bland. Delivered cold as well. Never again.

When this shop was under different management it was pretty dreadful but now it is excellent. Food was great - (well to be precise we only had their fish & chips but as that was really good I’m sure the rest is too!). The entire place looks spotless and the owners are particularly friendly and offer excellent service. Definitely happy to recommend.

Cannot rate my meal as I did not get it. The wrong meal was delivered. My meal was delivered to someone else. Fish Bar not a lot of help.

Placed an order for delivery, got the wrong order and was told to contact Just Eat. Fish shop did not want to know. will not be ordering from them again. Still trying to get my money back

The restaurant was very quick in preparing the food. Delivery time disappointed me. Also. I wanted to cancel the order within a minute of ordering due to personal reason however restaurant lied that food is prepared. Maybe return policy can be a bit improved in the future to safeguard customer's choice.

Fantastic Food, Wings were a 10 as well as Fat chips (with salt and vinegar) . 11/10. Only thing I would reccomend is they invest in an Air Conditioning Unit, place gets quite hot whilst eating inside. Overall 11/10!

I cannot recommend the Village Fish Bar highly enough. We asked for a delivery for a family party. The fish and chip order was delivered on time and all marked up so we could see whose order was whose. We were extremely impressed with our lunch!

The time of delivery kepted on changing l hour and a half late. I would have preferred Just Eat to say they couldn't delivery.

Very good service. Was unable to add cheese and sauce on to order via the meal deals but left a note for the restaurant and they added the extras. Roll on burger was extra yummy and not your big standard sesame bun. Very tasty!

Visited before Aldershot played at Bromley. 15 minute walk from ground. We were allowed to eat in, fish and chips 10/10, very very friendly family owning the business. Looked after like Kings- great place and food

I would definitely recommend this fish and chip shop, the fish is fresh and the batter is nice and crispy and not too greasy…chips are good too! Also the staff are very friendly….in my opinion the best fish and chips in Hayes 😊

Just got Cod, Scampi and large chips. The Cod was so good, crispy, non greasy, no skin and piping hot . The large chips were too big for a family of 4 but more importantly, they were good too. Just all tasted clean and fresh, no oily aftertaste. Really good chippy.

Don’t know where they think they are charging nearly 10 pound for cod and chips only to get home and find out we got like 10 chips bang out of order

Rubbish experience with this place. Not only did they have no fresh fish, but advised I would have to wait 20 mins for skate. If you cooked skate in a deep fat fryer for 20 mins, it’d look like charcoal, taste like charcoal smell like charcoal. The old man behind the counter was very rude too. They have recently upped their prices by around 20% unlike the chip shop outside Hayes station, who coincidentally managed to not only knock up some fresh skate for me, but it was ready with delicious chips and crispy batter in around 8 minutes for less money. I know exactly where I will be going from now on.

We eat from here regularly. They do gluten free batter for fish too! Definitely recommend. Tasty and not too greasy

Many years ago when I was in my first job and our boss described in detail this mega expensive restaurant he had been to. He elaborated on everyone of the 5 courses and the bill being more than I earned in 3 weeks. Then he said. “Mind you I get more pleasure out of a plate of fish and chips.” Well I don’t know if he had been to the Hayes Village Fish Bar but he could have. We enjoyed perfect fish beautifully cooked with a thin crunchy batter and an excellent portion of chips. And the extra bonus is it didn’t cost me 5he equivalent of 3 weeks wages. Ring them and place an order so you get it straight out of the pan and just enjoy.

Cracking traditional fish and chips with a good selection of different fish options too.

Charming owner just told me I shouldn't have ordered if I want not prepared to wait after I'd stood 30 minutes for one portion of chips. So, my review is, if you can't be bothered to wait 30 minutes for food, then don't order!
