We’ve been getting our Friday fish & chip suppers from Marlow Rd for 20 years. Excellent every time! We’re very spoiled in SE20 as there are several excellent chippies, but Marlow Rd is always our first choice.

Always really good tasty food. Quick delivery time and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Malaysian fried rice and a roast duck, pork with egg fried rice is what we normally order and its always consistently nice every time.

Visited Beckenham Beacon after a severe foot injury at 12:30 and was given paracetamol before being left to wait for hours. After four and a half hours in pain, I was finally seen, only to be told—predictably—that I needed an x-ray. Considering a brick had fallen on my foot, it was obvious an x-ray was necessary from the start. Why this wasn’t done in the hours I waited is beyond me. To be fair, the staff seemed to be trying, but they were clearly overwhelmed, under-resourced and struggling to keep up with the demand. The facilities themselves are nowhere near adequate for the volume of patients they’re expected to handle. Elderly patients and young children were forced to wait in distress for hours, with little to no communication on when we’d be seen. Some people were even advised to seek help elsewhere—hardly reassuring after such a long wait. Beckenham Beacon feels less like a healthcare facility and more like a chaotic holding pen. The NHS claims to uphold a duty of care, yet this place fails spectacularly to meet even basic standards. It’s disheartening to see the staff stretched so thin and patients left without adequate support.
