Proper pub and my favourite in Beckenham!!

A well run pub, food is good and there is often live music. So nice to have parking.

Lovely pub with a grew atmosphere. Super friendly and always busy. Garden is a must in summer.

My friend was not allowed into the establishment allgedly due to the way he walked up to the entrance and told he had too much to drink despite leading and not drinking. This was after he presented a foreign ID and was asked an excessive number of questions regarding it, leading us to conclude that he was discriminated against on the basis of nationality.

Always a fabulous place to visit - staff always so welcoming - sooo friendly with my nervous staffie - food was amazing a prawn and mussels linguine and a generous 10oz succulent steak, all served piping hot, absolutely delicious!!

Had lunch with 15 art friends. We had a warm welcome from the staff and everyone was helpful. I was surprised how many people were there on a Tuesday lunchtime which was nice to see. The food and service was good and everyone enjoyed their meal. I would go back and I’m sure my friends would too.

What a lovely pub!! I don’t normally write reviews but the food was delicious and fresh, the staff and atmosphere was lovely and it was a bonus the sun was shining so we sat in the garden area. We will definitely come back!

A very friendly and welcoming Irish pub on Elmers End Green. Plenty of TV screens showing multiple sporting events. Excellent quality food and generous portion size at very reasonable prices. A fine selection of guest beers and serves fruit juices and coffee too. Bands on at weekend evenings.

There are a lot of bad reviews about this pub that I have just read and I do agree that a certain member of staff is rather ‘unfriendly’ and very angry looking but I have to big up today - ‘St Patrick’s’ Day’ - great bands, gorgeous free food and extremely hard working staff. Best pub in Beckenham without a doubt!! Always a great atmosphere, especially at the weekends with the live bands/singers on. Food is great also! Edel & Niall do a fantastic job keeping this place in order.

Soul night, last Saturday of the month. Great friendly atmosphere. If you love to dance, this is a must. During the week is a little less busy. Nice garden and really nice engaging staff.

Barmaids a bit abrupt and not very friendly, especially to funeral attenders.. maybe as they're not regulars..

Rude manager, staff look depressed, dark and gloomy atmosphere. Miserable pub. Do NOT recommend. Food is overpriced.

Go somewhere else! Terrible, terrible atmosphere in this pub. First interaction was with security, who bluntly told me to take my hat off? Then we were told off again by an old man server with glasses (probably a manager) very rudely, who clearly has no hospitality skills whatsoever, for taking a chair from a table where no one was sat. We walked straight back out. Food looked awful from what we could see too. Would rather spend my money somewhere I’m not going to scolded and told off for simply entering the place. Would rather go to Wetherspoons 100%

We went for a tram ride on the London Tram from Wimbledon to Elmer's End and found the Elm Tree so had a gluten free meal and pot ot tea,it was very nice and reasonably priced.

Managed to adapt the menu to get a gluten free meal,it was very nice.

Terrible customer service and hospitality

Was told, not asked to remove my hat by staff who informed me its the owners policy, well he can stick his policy where the sun doesn't shine, ill not be returning to this dictatorial backwards thinking paddy pub again over priced along with brain washed staff

As pub food goes this place has never disappointed myself nor my family. Now with the addition of cocktails to the menu I can finally have a traditional pub meal with my relatives over an old fashioned.

I much appreciated the very English pub feel. Spent a very pleasant afternoon over a late lunch and a few pints. Very friendly and professional staff, a splendid pub.

Awful place, beware they announce a free bar, then serve the regulars only, then charge you! Almost a scam, ale is poorly kept, full of knuckleheads....

We booked a private area with a buffet for around 40 people. Very pleased with everything. The food was superb and plentiful, unlimited tea and coffee, and easy access to the bar. Thank you to all the staff. Most recommended.

Nice pint food is nothing to talk about just like mc donalds reheated frozen food why do pubs insist on using oven/ frozen chips in a fryer it just ruins the meal as I could have headed to the supermarket and got the same alot cheaper common guys up your game !

This venue exceeded any expectations! The food was fabulous and freshly prepared. Egg mayonnaise sandwiches the best I have EVER tasted. Great value and sensitive to the needs of of our family. I can not thank the staff enough for being the perfect venue to a challenging day.

Very nice pub, came here for a wake but will definitely be back in different circumstances. The staff were brilliant and the food delicious.

My family held our mother’s wake at the Elm Tree last week. Thank you to all the staff for the excellent service. We were so well looked after from the initial booking until everyone left on the day of the wake. So glad we chose the Elm Tree . Thanks again.

Great pub with lovely reasonably priced food and excellent servicef

A nice pub with plenty of locals who frequent it. Inside you have a choice of bar with numerous TV screens to watch the sport on. They also do a menu and you can sit and eat without being near a bar. Outside there is plenty of tabled seating including booths with individual screens and heating for chillier nights. They also have live music on certain nights and a quiz. The pub is not dog friendly.

Popped in for lunch with my Mum. The service was friendly and efficient and the food delicious with generous portions. We had the ham, egg and chips and Superfood salad with chicken We will definitely be back

Looking forward to watching a football game and having a nice lunch, as soon as we walked in the pub, we were greeted with a very moody manager who immediately in a tone of voice that was uncalled for , can you take your hat off! My husband had no problem whatsoever in doing that, it was the way it was said. Very unfriendly. So we ask if we could have a table for ordering food and one was offered with bar stools, not great but we excepted it as the others were reserved. I asked the manager if I could change the seats before I took it apon myself and he said yes no problem. The seats had backs on which were more comfortable for dining. We ordered a round of drinks for us both and our son, some snacks while we looked at the menu. We ordered the halloumi burgers which came with chips and onion rings which was nice, my son had the chicken burger and chips which he liked. We had baby nachos which were a small portion I must say but indeed they were called “baby “ I wouldn’t say they were worth 6.95 though. The burgers were all nearly £15 We ordered another round of drinks and asked to see the desert menu, it wasn’t brought over so I went and asked again. It was given to me and I ordered the chocolate brownie and ice cream for my son and a chocolate fudge sundae to share with my husband. When they came up, the brownie was tiny and wasn’t worth 6.95. The chocolate fudge sundae had none whatsoever a hint of chocolate or fudge, instead it was a tiny bowl again 6.95 of one scoop of strawberry ice cream and one scoop of vanilla ice cream, two macarons which I don’t like and that was it. I took it back to the bar thinking they’d given me the wrong desert as they had macaroons and assorted ice cream on the menu for 3.95 , the girl brought it back and said did you order the chocolate fudge sundae ? and I said yes, she said that is what it is and gave it back to me. I moved the ice cream out the way and right at the bottom was a tiny bit of chocolate sauce. I was still sure it was the wrong desert so I took it back to the bar to the manager and said I’d already brought it back once and the girl told me it was right, I said there’s no chocolate fudge, he said I’ll go and get you the correct one. I went and sat back down and by then I had gone off the idea of the desert. The manager brought the now melting ice cream back to out bar stool table and said I’ve talked to the chef and the sauce at the bottom is chocolate. Handed it back and walked off! No apology, no would you like something else or a refund. Needless to say it was a waste of money as we don’t like vanilla, strawberry or macaroons. So It was left . We won’t be returning to this pub as we just thought the staff are not welcoming or friendly and not trying to make customers very welcome. The food is overpriced for what you get and the ambiance is dire.

We have usually enjoyed a good time at the Elm Tree, with good food, drinks and atmosphere. However, we received a terrible reception on our last visit. Despite us having been multiple times before and provided thousands of business to once our local pub, we were asked to buy more food and drink, despite 5 of us ordering beers. But as there were some of our group who didn’t want to drink yet, we were asked to leave. This was despite our intentions to order food and drink. Shocking and completely disrespectful, we will not be back.

Fantastic place. Great food ,great atmosphere and the bar staff are amazing. As of the 16th August, nothing has changed. They now allow dogs on the front of the pub.

Visited last weekend for the first time, despite being in the area for over 5 years. From North of Ireland, a Guinness was the port of call, and it was excellently served. The guy behind the bar, with a 'home' accent greatest myself and my wife, and on the way out wished us on our travels. The food looked good, and the place had a lot of people in. Will be returning visitors

Rude and unprofessional welcome at the door from the bouncer; I understand is a pub and you might have problems on a weekend but the man was rude and had a street talks like we are gangster, decided to not arguing and move to a better place.

My god I don't want to soind like a broken record but you would do well to find anywhere in the world with a bunch of staff this miserbale.i can only assume they put everyone on an hour's course before starting on how to be so miserable as it's impressive if it comes naturally...never again shocking came out exhausted from it all

Held my Aunt's wake at The Elm Tree and we were very pleased with the quality of the buffet which was good value. The private area used at the rear of the building was set back from the main bar and ideal for our gathering. Adele, Nial and their team were all very helpful. Attentive service and respectful of the occasion. Thank you

Great pub, fab service. We were served by Daniel who was attentive and polite. Reccomend the Sharer, hunters chicken and leek and chicken pie. Would come again!

Having just spent a lazy sunday in The Elm Tree I would highly recommend it. Staff are friendly, polite, and great service. As friendly to regulars and those that just pop in. Must mention have also been to some of the band evening and have always enjoyed ourselves and service still the same on a busy Friday night or lazy Sunday like today. Sundays Lunches are great too.

We went to the Elm Tree yesterday for my aunts wake. The staff were friendly and so very helpful. The buffet they provided was 1st class and very very fresh. Such a beautiful venue with a private room and a very pretty garden. Edel was an absolute star especially when one of our friends fainted. The staff excelled themselves in making a very sad day into a much better day looking after us all. A huge big thank you

Been here before and it seemed fine, this time they were weird about people walking into a pub and looking for a seat. Apparently we had to "check in" and we couldn't just sit in a reserved table where the people were coming later on. They seem to think they are running a restaurant with table service rather than a traditional Irish pub where you walk in and go to the bar. Oh well.

I wanted to express how impressed I am with the staff at this establishment. It’s an incredibly busy venue and even though they are under pressure, nothing is too much trouble. I don’t understand the “miserable” staff comments, they have always been attentive. Niall in particular is always helpful

Some arrogant grandfather in glasses threw me out of the parking lot, even though I politely asked his employee if I could park for a minute. Such people are fit for digging potatoes, not serving people. I do not recommend

We attended a wake here recently and were so impressed by the service and staff. This is a proper pub with really good food and atmosphere. Everything about this pub and the staff here helped ease a very sad and emotional event for the family. It was good to know that arrangements were in safe hands and that everything was ready for family and friends to meet after the service. Thank you.

My friend and I had roast lunch here today. We both love the roasts here, we have been coming for years. However, chef PLEASE roast your potatoes for longer so they are crispy. The roasties have not been crispy for years now. If you get the roasties right (& possibly add cauliflower cheese!!!) you will have an almost perfect roast. I love your mashed swede btw.

Just had the drinks here , was a special night so music was super loud, security are rude but overall generally ok
