We had an amazing roast at the elm tree today. The staff always go above and beyond. A special mention to Niall for his professionalism and friendly welcome. James who is the pillar of customer service and has such gravitas. Finally to Chelsea who always is smiling. We are lucky to have this pub as our local. Thank you all

Love this place... Never disappoints! They have a terrific menu. As a veggie the Hallumi Burger is always excellent and my friends have had fish and meat dishes which they enjoyed. Definitely worth a visit. Nice multi-cultural mix of clients and good for a couple of family group. I recently took a date there who I did not realise had never been to a pub before. In her mind they were still like how they were in sixties and seventies. After feeling initially uncomfortable she quickly settled and enjoyed the evening.

Lovely pub! Service was friendly and efficient. The pub was clean both inside and outside. There is a terrace at the back with some table and booths. The booths are equipped with heaters so you can enjoy them during all seasons. Food was nice and portions were sufficient for a group of 4. Toilets were clean. I would recommend this pub for any type of event. You can enjoy a pint with friends, or a party with colleagues. They also have live music sometimes so check the board at the entrance for information.

Booked a last minute table for 8 this afternoon. The landlord really helped us out of a tricky situation as been let down by another venue. What very nice man. Very kind and helpful and the staff are so experienced and helpful. I can't say a bad word about this establishment. The sunday roast was tremendous. Lamb is the pick of the roast. The roast potatoes are amazing. 4 adults and 4 children dinner and kids deserts and a few beers and wine £140.00. Extemely reasonable. Hats off to the staff of the Elm tree. A Diamond in Beckenham.

Cosy pub, great atmosphere and good food The menu is a bit confusing. When I ordered the Signature Burger (chicken) and asked about adding an extra patty, I was told it would be a beef patty, which seems like an unusual combination. Additionally, the cost to add the patty was £3, whereas adding a patty to the Cheeseburger was priced at £3.50. Could be worth updating and clarifying on your menu.

A nice cosy pub. The food and service was excellent. They already had the christmas decorations and tree up when we visited in November but it felt right with the weather outside. The staff and locals were friendly. I am looking forward to my next visit, even if it just for a quiet pint and a book.

The Sunday roast is always excellent, as are the staff and Guinness, never had a bad meal in three years, it is great value and I recommend highly

We decided to treat ourselves to a Beef Roast and as we go to the Elm Tree regularly for a drink we saw the quality and presentation of the roast dinners first hand, so now was the time to taste it. The Roast Beef Topside was Served with Seasonal Vegetables, Goose Fat Roast Potatoes, Cauliflower Cheese, Stuffing,Homemade Yorkshire Pudding & Gravy. The presentation was excellent and served to increase the sense of anticipation. The beef was tender, no fat or chewy bits. The potatoes were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside. the vegetables were perfect and not overdone. The Cauliflower Cheese was the right temperature and matched everything else. The Yorkshire was large and tasted good indeed. Highly recommended. The portions were generous too, so we couldn't manage pudding.

Fantastic Pub, superb management great selection of food and beveridges with fantastic selection of Sports with a great outdoor area too.

I chose The Elm Tree for the reception after my mother's cremation. The service was excellent from the moment I booked until I paid the final bill. The buffet choices were very fresh and just as ordered. In fact, there was too much food, so amazing value for money.

What a nice pub. Had a daytime school reunion in there and the place was buzzing. Plenty of TV screens for football and the food looked great.

I eat here regularly food is always spot on service is attractive and attentive front of house and management superb I took a take away meal tonight to a hotel while working away still red hot tasty when I I got to my room 100%always

Would never go back here! The staff were rude and unwelcoming. We went there to celebrate my sons 13th birthday, not one member of staff smiled or greeted us as we walked in. A prawn cocktail was advertised on the menu online but was a completely different t menu when we arrived. The food was ok. The pudding was awful! We ordered what we thought was a sundae. We was so disappointed. What came up was 3 scoops of ice cream, strawberry, vanilla & chocolate a drizzle of chocolate sauce and a lump of honeycomb plonked on the top! Was not worth £6.95 and was not a sundae! Do not waste your money here!!! Absolute terrible experience

Went in for a few drinks to watch the Champions League final. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Would be back again when back in London.

Went here early for a Sunday lunch. Very friendly staff. Promptly served. Had the roast and was very nice. Plenty of meat and veg.

I cannot recognise these bad reviews as I have used this Pub a couple of times for business. The food is excellent (very generous portion of Caesar Salad) and the service outstanding. I needed to leave to drop something off locally after coffee before I had ordered lunch and was allowed to leave and pay when I ordered lunch. Coffee is fantastic value compared to Starbucks etc. All the staff were kind and helpful. I was very impressed that when a group left a table near me a member off staff not only thoroughly cleaned the table but used a broom and dustpan to sweep the whole area under the table. Highly recommended.

My friend was not allowed into the establishment allgedly due to the way he walked up to the entrance and told he had too much to drink despite leading and not drinking. This was after he presented a foreign ID and was asked an excessive number of questions regarding it, leading us to conclude that he was discriminated against on the basis of nationality.

Always a fabulous place to visit - staff always so welcoming - sooo friendly with my nervous staffie - food was amazing a prawn and mussels linguine and a generous 10oz succulent steak, all served piping hot, absolutely delicious!!

Excellent great decor good atmosphere

We held my Mum's wake at The Elm Tree on Monday 29th April. I cannot praise the staff enough for the kindness and friendliness shown to us. The food laid on for over 30 people was lovely - a good selection of buffet food and plenty of it. The pub has a private section which was perfect for the occasion but it is not shut away from the rest of the pub so there is a good atmosphere also. Plenty of comfortable seating and there was a screen where we were able to show photographs during the afternoon. My husband and I also visited the pub on two separate occasions prior to the funeral for lunch. On both visits, the food was excellent. We had liver & bacon, burger, cumberland sausage & mash and fish & chips. Cannot fault any of these dishes. Service is also very prompt. The pub is very roomy, plenty of seating but also great if people want a drink at the bar or to sit outside. Everyone was friendly but particular thanks go to Adele. We will definitely be returning.

Had lunch with 15 art friends. We had a warm welcome from the staff and everyone was helpful. I was surprised how many people were there on a Tuesday lunchtime which was nice to see. The food and service was good and everyone enjoyed their meal. I would go back and I’m sure my friends would too.

What a lovely pub!! I don’t normally write reviews but the food was delicious and fresh, the staff and atmosphere was lovely and it was a bonus the sun was shining so we sat in the garden area. We will definitely come back!

A very friendly and welcoming Irish pub on Elmers End Green. Plenty of TV screens showing multiple sporting events. Excellent quality food and generous portion size at very reasonable prices. A fine selection of guest beers and serves fruit juices and coffee too. Bands on at weekend evenings.

There are a lot of bad reviews about this pub that I have just read and I do agree that a certain member of staff is rather ‘unfriendly’ and very angry looking but I have to big up today - ‘St Patrick’s’ Day’ - great bands, gorgeous free food and extremely hard working staff. Best pub in Beckenham without a doubt!! Always a great atmosphere, especially at the weekends with the live bands/singers on. Food is great also! Edel & Niall do a fantastic job keeping this place in order.

Soul night, last Saturday of the month. Great friendly atmosphere. If you love to dance, this is a must. During the week is a little less busy. Nice garden and really nice engaging staff.

Barmaids a bit abrupt and not very friendly, especially to funeral attenders.. maybe as they're not regulars..

Rude manager, staff look depressed, dark and gloomy atmosphere. Miserable pub. Do NOT recommend. Food is overpriced.

Went for an event, it was genuine vibe. Everyone there, came to enjoy themselves and the live music was real entertainment!

Go somewhere else! Terrible, terrible atmosphere in this pub. First interaction was with security, who bluntly told me to take my hat off? Then we were told off again by an old man server with glasses (probably a manager) very rudely, who clearly has no hospitality skills whatsoever, for taking a chair from a table where no one was sat. We walked straight back out. Food looked awful from what we could see too. Would rather spend my money somewhere I’m not going to scolded and told off for simply entering the place. Would rather go to Wetherspoons 100%

We went for a tram ride on the London Tram from Wimbledon to Elmer's End and found the Elm Tree so had a gluten free meal and pot ot tea,it was very nice and reasonably priced.

Managed to adapt the menu to get a gluten free meal,it was very nice.

Terrible customer service and hospitality

Was told, not asked to remove my hat by staff who informed me its the owners policy, well he can stick his policy where the sun doesn't shine, ill not be returning to this dictatorial backwards thinking paddy pub again over priced along with brain washed staff

As pub food goes this place has never disappointed myself nor my family. Now with the addition of cocktails to the menu I can finally have a traditional pub meal with my relatives over an old fashioned.

I much appreciated the very English pub feel. Spent a very pleasant afternoon over a late lunch and a few pints. Very friendly and professional staff, a splendid pub.

Awful place, beware they announce a free bar, then serve the regulars only, then charge you! Almost a scam, ale is poorly kept, full of knuckleheads....

We booked a private area with a buffet for around 40 people. Very pleased with everything. The food was superb and plentiful, unlimited tea and coffee, and easy access to the bar. Thank you to all the staff. Most recommended.

Nice pint food is nothing to talk about just like mc donalds reheated frozen food why do pubs insist on using oven/ frozen chips in a fryer it just ruins the meal as I could have headed to the supermarket and got the same alot cheaper common guys up your game !

This venue exceeded any expectations! The food was fabulous and freshly prepared. Egg mayonnaise sandwiches the best I have EVER tasted. Great value and sensitive to the needs of of our family. I can not thank the staff enough for being the perfect venue to a challenging day.

A nice pub with plenty of locals who frequent it. Inside you have a choice of bar with numerous TV screens to watch the sport on. They also do a menu and you can sit and eat without being near a bar. Outside there is plenty of tabled seating including booths with individual screens and heating for chillier nights. They also have live music on certain nights and a quiz. The pub is not dog friendly.

Looking forward to watching a football game and having a nice lunch, as soon as we walked in the pub, we were greeted with a very moody manager who immediately in a tone of voice that was uncalled for , can you take your hat off! My husband had no problem whatsoever in doing that, it was the way it was said. Very unfriendly. So we ask if we could have a table for ordering food and one was offered with bar stools, not great but we excepted it as the others were reserved. I asked the manager if I could change the seats before I took it apon myself and he said yes no problem. The seats had backs on which were more comfortable for dining. We ordered a round of drinks for us both and our son, some snacks while we looked at the menu. We ordered the halloumi burgers which came with chips and onion rings which was nice, my son had the chicken burger and chips which he liked. We had baby nachos which were a small portion I must say but indeed they were called “baby “ I wouldn’t say they were worth 6.95 though. The burgers were all nearly £15 We ordered another round of drinks and asked to see the desert menu, it wasn’t brought over so I went and asked again. It was given to me and I ordered the chocolate brownie and ice cream for my son and a chocolate fudge sundae to share with my husband. When they came up, the brownie was tiny and wasn’t worth 6.95. The chocolate fudge sundae had none whatsoever a hint of chocolate or fudge, instead it was a tiny bowl again 6.95 of one scoop of strawberry ice cream and one scoop of vanilla ice cream, two macarons which I don’t like and that was it. I took it back to the bar thinking they’d given me the wrong desert as they had macaroons and assorted ice cream on the menu for 3.95 , the girl brought it back and said did you order the chocolate fudge sundae ? and I said yes, she said that is what it is and gave it back to me. I moved the ice cream out the way and right at the bottom was a tiny bit of chocolate sauce. I was still sure it was the wrong desert so I took it back to the bar to the manager and said I’d already brought it back once and the girl told me it was right, I said there’s no chocolate fudge, he said I’ll go and get you the correct one. I went and sat back down and by then I had gone off the idea of the desert. The manager brought the now melting ice cream back to out bar stool table and said I’ve talked to the chef and the sauce at the bottom is chocolate. Handed it back and walked off! No apology, no would you like something else or a refund. Needless to say it was a waste of money as we don’t like vanilla, strawberry or macaroons. So It was left . We won’t be returning to this pub as we just thought the staff are not welcoming or friendly and not trying to make customers very welcome. The food is overpriced for what you get and the ambiance is dire.

We have usually enjoyed a good time at the Elm Tree, with good food, drinks and atmosphere. However, we received a terrible reception on our last visit. Despite us having been multiple times before and provided thousands of business to once our local pub, we were asked to buy more food and drink, despite 5 of us ordering beers. But as there were some of our group who didn’t want to drink yet, we were asked to leave. This was despite our intentions to order food and drink. Shocking and completely disrespectful, we will not be back.
