Had a birthday out there and was absolutely lovely.

Came for a quick drink, I'd been here a few years ago before I started reviewing but I'd forgot how amazing this place is,a solid 5 stars. Smart/casual feel to the place. I'd also forgotten how large the place is, it's small from the front but large inside, large dining area and large beer garden at the rear, small beer garden at the front. Service was spot on, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great choice of drinks at reasonable prices. We didn't stay to eat but wish we had. Definitely worth a visit. Will most likely go again the next time I'm in the chislehurst area.

First pint of landlord they poured me was criminal had to change it. Second pint after barrel change just about drinkable, I'll be back to try again because of the staff but here's what it should look like..!

Like it here, convenient for chislehurst station. Tiny bit of free parking outside and more a few streets away Nice food but not cheap.

Went for a Sunday roast… the fish and chips and Bickley burger were lovely and my friends really liked them. The lamb roast, however, was chewy and not to standard compared to what I’ve had before. Our waitress, Sasha, was really lovely, on the ball and managed to help us feel like our experience was a good one. There may have been problems, but the service helped us feel like it those problems were resolvable, which is always positive 😁

This is a really lovely pub with lots of excellent choices of wine. The food on the whole was very good but the truffle macaroni cheese was disappointing and should have been cooked for longer. Cannot fault the service at all. Our waitress Sasha was really attentive, very knowledgeable and made an effort to make it feel special. We were really impressed with her.

I met with Olga to hire the private dining room on Friday. I gave her 48 hours notice for my booking. I explained that I wanted balloons for the children and we wanted flowers. I needed the large TV on showing the 6 nations rugby. I liaised with Olga how I wanted the room displayed on our arrival. Olga not only delivered but exceeded all our expectations. She ensured we were catered for. She delivered the wow factor beyond our expectations. Amongst our guests were friends from Dubai, South Africa and London. I really hope The Bickley retain Olga as exceptional staff should be retained. Many of our friends who own their own businesses were present and would employ her without hesitation. Today Olga was professional she ensured that we had the most amazing experience. The Sunday lunch was delicious. Thanks to all the staff. Olga a big thank you to you.

Good pub good seating area has two floors of seating areas and a fast service at the bar and a good welcoming atmosphere.I have only visited once so far but i would defiantly like to come to visit here again and maybe try the food menu this time too.

Have visited a few times of late, specifically for Sunday lunch which The Bickley serves in a wonderful manner, and is by far the best in respects of value, quantity and quality in the area Nothing comes close, highly recommended eatery in a very ambient surrounding

Standard of service probably the worst i have experienced in a restaurant/pub. Waiting well over an hour for food, some orders missing completely, table drinks orders forgotten. Definitely a case of cram in as many bookings as possible with complete disregard for serving the bookings.

Booked a table for a large family gathering, arrived to no table set up, the host hastily put together two tables of different heights, a pre-cursor to what was to come. One of the party ordered a starter, the rest a main course only, the starter arrived AFTER the main course, and the main courses took 1hr 15mins to arrive. The Drinks order had to be chased on 3 separate occasions. One gluten intolerant member of the party ordered a gluten free meal, only to be told an hour after ordering that it wasn’t gluten free despite being advertised as such. One main course arrived after everyone had finished, following repeated chasing and all orders being made at the same time. Staff when asked ‘do you know when the food will arrive?’ Responded with ‘no idea’. Food was of a very average standard when it finally did come. Hugely disappointing way to spend a Sunday that was supposed to be a celebration. If the kitchen can’t manage so many bookings, don’t make them.

A really nice pub that offers tasty food and a good selection of drinks. As mentioned by others, service can be a bit hit and miss at times, particularly on a hot day when the outside areas are packed too. It is a big area to service and getting staffing levels right must be difficult. Only given an overall score of 3 as dogs are allowed in the inside dining areas. A personal choice but we will avoid going here again as we have no desire to eat where dogs are allowed.

Food took ages and came out cold and we ordered drinks that took 24 minutes to arrive and they were bottled.

Overall a really nice experience. Older lady who seated us was not friendly, abrupt and snappy, the younger waiters and waitresses were thankfully incredibly nice, professional and helpful. Food was very good and flavoursome, though I ordered the lamb and was served the beef, I just ate it as it wasn’t too big a deal and it was very good. Would definitely recommend.

Good food, massive selection of drinks and wine, and a good refurbished place with an outdoor patio for smockers. Overall good, old fashion pub, in a modern twist in a nice area. Well looked after and fondly. I assume it would get busy, as there were bouncers at the entrance.

Visited on Christmas Day with my adult children & grandchildren. Olga was exceptional & spent time prior to our visit helping me place everyone’s orders. On the day she came over to our table to welcome us and check we were all happy. The food was the best by far. Everything was cooked from fresh and presented perfectly Definitely will return & highly recommend

We have just had a lovely Christmas Day at the Bickley Arms. A table of 8-our food was all bought out together, all dishes were beautifully cooked and hot. The staff were all attentive and super nice. Would not hesitate to come back again.

It was chaos, service was all over the place. Under staffed, took ages to get drinks. Not great

We had a Christmas party at the Bickley and were forced to pre-order. On arrival the menu had changed, leaving us with various random dishes, they even delivered kids meals (no kids in attendance) and could have cared less about clearing the table or taking drinks orders (we had to go to the bar). Not so much as an apology, even for the random dishes we were served as they were “easier to cook”. God forbid the poor people here at Christmas 😂😂😂

Looking somewhat drab on outside. If this was your first visit you would probably go elsewhere. However, the inside is more pleasant.

Booked a Christmas lunch for my team -4 of us. Restaurant was empty-so no real pressure on staff. We almost felt like an inconvenience. Waitress was pleasant enough but wore her coat serving us. Asked what the 'catch of the day' was -we were told Tripe, which was unusual! After we had our drinks and food-no-one came back to offer us another drink or dessert. Eventually I went to the bar to order a coffee. Waited 5 minutes to pay the bill at the bar-no-one was at bar. Bit disappointing for a treat for my team. Decor was lovely. Service really needs to improve.

The staff were excellent - so accommodating especially with my elderly father. My daughter is also coeliac and they were knowledgeable and she was able to have a great meal

We hired the Camden room at The Bickley for a family get together. There was 25 of us altogether including children and the room was set up beautifully. Their food and service was 5 star and we could play our own music. Food was pre ordered but could add meals on if needed. Paid a deposit that can be redeemed back and everyone paid separately. Olga set our booking up, the room and was our waitress for the day, she made sure the whole afternoon ran smoothly and nothing was too much for her. Great hospitality and fantastic space. Will 100% book for next year.

We had a family christmas dinner for almost 20 people, Olga was amazing, really took care of us all so well. This was our second year having our big family get together at the bickley and we will be back again next year. Food and service we excellent.

Came here with friends for dinner one evening. We had a decent table at the top, the service wasn’t the best and we had to keep flagging down the staff to get their attention to order. The menu was pretty limited, but that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. I had a burger, which was ok, nothing too special. My friend had sausage and mash which looked amazing and I definitely had food envy. It’s quite expensive here and I’m not really sure if I’d return

We decided to visit here for a roast on a Sunday evening. We had seen good reviews of the roast and were looking forward to it. We arrived early and were shown to a table however as soon as we sat down noticed how cold it was and realised that 2 huge air con units were on which was strange given it was the end of November. We however asked for these to be turned off which they were. We ordered the trio of roasts which was absolutely delicious all round and the roast pork along with mac and cheese and the creamed spinach which was some of the best we’ve ever tasted. The food we cannot fault as it was delicious and one of the bests roasts we’ve ever had however what let this place down and stopped us giving it 5* was the service. It started off okay but after our food came it was non existent. We ordered another round of drinks which didn’t come after 10 minutes by which time we had finished eating so had to ask again. Then we had to get up and go and pay at the bar as no-one came to see if we wanted the bill. If the food wasn’t as great we would have given it 3* we appreciate the staff must be tired after a long day but service needs to remain consistent throughout the day. We wouldn’t be put off coming here again and giving them another chance.

Was in Bickley for a wake, the food and service was amazing. I have reviewed not so generously before, so glad to see they have upped their game. Well done, hope to see you again soon.

Went there for Sunday lunch, the service was very good with the food for all five of us arriving only a little over 5mins after ordering. Portions were very generous, and no complaints on the food.

Hired The Camden Room for a baby shower. Lovely space, helpful service, great food. Would recommend.

Absolutely outstanding!! What a pleasant experience we all had at the pub after visiting the caves on Wednesday. We were a large group of 15 who on the spur of the moment decided to have a bite to eat at the local pub the Bickley Arms. The pub is beautiful inside and deceptively much bigger than we thought. Our entire group was able to sit all on one table which created a pleasant atmosphere. The smile and welcome from the waitress set us off on the right path. I must say the light lunch menu is spot on with an abundance of variety including a soft shell crab salad!!! “Delicious” The food was faultless and came out hot and in a timely manner considering how many of us there were. The young man I believe was the manager treated us like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble including one of our party having considerable dietary requirements. We all felt in safe hands. We had such a wonderful time we extended our pickup by 2 hours which allowed for an extra half of bitter which also was fantastic. I could not praise this pub enough and recommend anyone in the area if you’re visiting the caves leave a bit of time to visit the Bickley it’s well worth it.

Roast very good. Busy spot on a Sunday, tucked away, with a great atmosphere

On previous visits I seem to remember the vegan options were far better. I asked the waiting staff if there was a vegan menu to which she said there was just a standard menu and items would say if they were gluten free (not that I had asked about gluten free). She was quite obviously trying to be helpful and went onto suggest some of the fish dishes to which I responded that I don’t eat fish as I am vegan. She said I could eat the spinach side dish which clearly stated cream in it. I think some proper training is needed for the staff and a clearer menu as the plant burger didn’t even have the vegan symbol next to it. This all made me slightly wary of the vegan options. I asked the waitress if the tagliatelle could be ordered without the mushrooms, she said she would ask the kitchen if they could substitute it with something else but never got back to me about it. We then placed our orders with a different waitress and opted for the tagliatelle (but without mushrooms) which was fine. There were some mix ups over our drinks throughout our visit and we had to remind the staff that we were waiting for them several times. After our meal I ordered an oat milk latte, which I now think was not in fact oat milk as I have been ill since leaving the pub. All in all a disappointing experience.

Sunday kunch .Starters and mains( beef,haddock and Lamb) enjoyed . Attentive service and well positioned table by window. Popular midday to 2.00pm with groups of young families.

Absolute shambles. Food orders paused as the kitchen had got in such a mess with Sunday roasts. Couldn’t be clear about when orders would restart. Just kept saying 20mins from whenever asked. Couldn’t be confident about how long it would subsequently take food to arrive from whenever it could be ordered again. Walked out. Won’t return. EDIT following venue reply - Eddie, thanks for the offer. I sat at a bar table around 2.20pm. I’d said I would come in earlier and would happily eat in the bar rather than wait for the 3pm restaurant table - if I could find one. The pause was not presented as being just for walk-ins. And food would be a minimum of 45mins once able to be ordered. I simply wasn’t going to wait for 75mins minimum to eat. I also had no confidence you could even take an order from the restaurant table at 3pm - as it was presented you’d paused all orders and the time you were going to restart orders just kept being stated as 20mins.

Came here on Sunday with my family and the roast dinners were amazing. Everything can together perfectly as the staff were very helpful and kind and the service was very good. The atmosphere was amazing and it was packed! I would definitely recommend coming here for an amazing lunch and roast dinner.

It took about 10 minutes to place our order. There was no queue but the bar staff struggled to find the items on the menu (it is one page long) We then waited about 25 mins for a children’s sausage and chips and a rarebit. The sausage and chips came with very overcooked peas, so bad that the staff offered to refund the entire dish. £10 Rarebit was microwaved cheese in toast with a bit of crab stick under the cheese. This does not constitute rarebit. The toast was not sourdough as advertised and because microwaved it was actively unpleasant. It was priced at £9 I must stress that we were not here at a peak meal time and the restaurant and outside area were largely empty. I went in to ask about the whereabouts of the food at one point, there is apparently no communication between the bar and kitchen as I had to follow the bar staff down stairs to the kitchen to find out. Bizarre I also had a bottle of 0.0 beer - which must have cost £6 (!) because my bill was £25. Nice enough outside area - fine for a drink but otherwise would actively avoid

Came in for lunch today and had a nice time the atmosphere of the pub is great and the brunch menu is nice and has good options for vegetarians too! We were served by Rosie who gave lovely service, very attentive. Will definitely come back for a weekday lunch!

Great place for Sunday roast and the food is delicious. The outdoor area is gorgeous. We had service issues on our recent unfortunately... my trio of roast meats was missing the pork! And they forgot to bring our sides. Everything was rectified of course, but it ruined the experience. Never nice to have your sides arrive when you've finished your main!!

Prebooked dinner reservation for 7.We were handed our menus and ignored for the next 40 minutes.My daughter flagged down a waiter who took our order which included specific instructions about how one of our party wanted her food.We were told that it came with gravy in a jug which it didn't.Our food was nice but for the first time the service was very disappointing.We weren't charged for the meal that was not as requested but it was a shame that her meal was spoilt.

So we arrived on Sunday morning having reserved table for 10 and we all ordered roasts, I have the say the quality of the meat was incredible me and my wife had the trio roasts and I really liked the beef. The waited who took out table was called rishi and he was polite and went the extra mile to make sure we had a good evening I would reccomwnd for a roast

The physical setting is truly stunning, with several contrasting and attractive areas to choose, both inside and out in the garden. However the initial positive impression is quickly let down by inattentive service and rather bland food, given the restaurant level prices for most main courses.

Had a lovely Sunday roast with my elderly mother & mother in law and puppy dog, food and service was great. Shame I live in Buckinghamshire as would love this to of been my local.

Olga was great! She helped to organise my mum's birthday party in the Camden Room upstairs. The food was delicious and the service was good too. Nothing was too much trouble. I can highly recommend this venue for a party.

We had a lovely afternoon celebrating our son’s first birthday at the Bickley with friends. Olga and her team were extremely accommodating of our group. We had a spacious undercover area, were able to bring in cakes, sweets etc for kids, quick service at bars and they went above and beyond to assist with dinner for babies - even offering milk. Super impressed and our guests also commented how great the venue was (including some who had been previously and had a different experience).

This is my favourite pub. Food is amazing. Thanks chef. On saturday there was a baby party and kids were running around us for hours. Us and couple of more guests got annoyed and parents did not care about this. That is why we had to get up and leave.

Lovely pub, really nice decor. The service was excellent & the food very good. The fish was generous & well cooked & chips fabulously crisp. Though I would ditch the curry sauce, or make it optional at least. The mushy peas were also not great, not very fresh & watery. We went on a Sunday & it was quiet so atmosphere not really evident, though it is massive pub & there was activity happening in other parts of the pub.

I was quite disappointed with our experience in the Bickley Arms. We sat outside to enjoy a roast but the lack of service was frustrating. We had to get up and go to the bar to order our food and drinks. There was no cutlery when the food arrived, so we waited assuming a member of staff would bring some but they never did. I had to get up and find a member of staff inside and ask for cutlery. By the time I got back to my seat some items on the plate were cold. I would have complained at the time but we were made to pay on ordering our food rather than at the end of the meal. I wouldn’t recommend.

**AVOID THE BURGER SHACK MEAT!** I had a terrible experience ordering from the Burger Shack, Bickley Arms. The burgers I ordered over the weekend had expired meat—it was discolored, smelled very off, and tasted off. Two other customers around me mentioned that their meat tasted strange too. The heat may have played a role in this, but it's a serious safety issue regardless.

Lovely experience, great tasty food, great prices, lovely friendly, welcoming staff. Lovely outside area. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of the best sharing ribeye steaks in town

We had a very large group attend a pre wedding gathering. There were a couple of separate groups celebrating birthdays. It was well organised as all three groups had their own areas. The food was nice, although I could not taste the mackerel in the starter dish. Considering the size of our group, the service was extremely good. Thank you.

Absolutely brilliant food and drink experience. From small bookings to large, they really know how to look after you and your group. Good value for money and plenty of free parking.

Had a really stressfull day as work has gotten to me lately. Went to Bickleys for a drink and just wanted to head home as I wasn’t feeling too hungry. Came across kind lady named Heather I believe? (Sorry if I spelt this wrong!). We had a good little chat and it changed my whole mood. She convinced me to have the Buckley Burger with tripple cooked chips and damn she recommended something good. Food was amazing and tasted so good! Then I headed in for a cheeky selection of Jude’s ice cream and that topped it all off! Whilst eating due to the hot weather I asked if I could take my food and eat outside and without any hesitation Heather helped me take my food outside and even for me a new set of cutlery and some ice! The atmosphere outside was amazing and really made my day! I will definitely be back tomorrow!

I came here with my family for the first time the other day to watch the Olympics on the tv. The vibe was beautiful and the staff were amazing. I had a burger and it was cooked to perfection. Everyone was really friendly. We was served by a lovely waitress called Heather, she made sure we was all happy with everything and was very friendly. Didn’t have to wait long for our food and drinks. Had a lovely and relaxed night with the family and will definitely come back soon.

Food was mediocre: our children could not stomach the fish and chips, my mussels were sandy/ grainy, which I could not finish either. Service was pretty much non-existence: they forgot the fries that should have been served with the mussels; no one came to check if we were OK with our food. With this price tag, there's got to be better options elsewhere.

Everything was great; food, drink and service. The staff were friendly and approachable. Will definitely be coming back. Huge thanks to Zara for making this night a laugh.

I came here for my 21st birthday, I’d hired the pub garden back in April and on the day, the weather was rubbish. The marquee they’d set up for me had completely flooded and my friends were 30 minutes off arriving. Thanks to Olga and the Bickley Team they were able to organise quickly another area to fit everyone in. Olga was very insistent that if there was anything she could do to let know. They were great bearing in mind the semi finals of the Euros were playing at the same time! Thank you Bickley Team

I attended my friends birthday last night and have to say the service we received from our waitress Savannah was outstanding. There was nothing too much and she was happy to accommodate us moving tables. Savannah entertained us and made our evening great. Bickley need more staff like this
