We had a lovely afternoon celebrating our son’s first birthday at the Bickley with friends. Olga and her team were extremely accommodating of our group. We had a spacious undercover area, were able to bring in cakes, sweets etc for kids, quick service at bars and they went above and beyond to assist with dinner for babies - even offering milk. Super impressed and our guests also commented how great the venue was (including some who had been previously and had a different experience).

Haven't been to The Bickley Arms for a while. Popped in for a drink + ended up eating too. Great service + lovely food. Will definitely go back.

The food was great, the location is great but we constantly had to go and get the staff if we needed to order or for anything else.

Lovely staff, great building, plenty of room. 4 stars as food was only ok and overpriced.

Lovely pub with the a very specious garden. However, the food left a lot to be desired. The beef pie was distasteful, the filling had no beef flavour, it was very pale, there was only one piece of mushroom and a handful of peas. Very disappointing! The mash potatoes had an acquired taste, I couldn't taste any potato as the spices in it were overpowering. I could strongly perceive sage taste, which is quiet unusual for a mash potato and totally unnecessary. This was definitely the worst beef pie I've ever tasted!!!

Great garden to have a drink in summer. Foid over priced specially the burger bar and staff behind the bar very unfriendly.

Had a nice meal here with a couple of drinks, nice atmosphere and friendly staff, the food was freshly prepared and tasted delicious would recommend this pub to anyone

Just incredible!! What an experience we all had at the Bickley and the Euro final. Such a buzzing atmosphere and scrumptious food. All of our table went for the street food option from the shack (delicious!) I must say a big thanks to all the staff who made our evening truly special (ignore the score!) Is it too early to book for the World Cup!?! Well done Bickley.

Had no idea about real ale although serving it, had the Guinness instead which you couldn't fault but nearly £7 a pint is just a rip off.

Vegan butter??? Disgusting ! battered haddock ? More batter than fish ! Disappointing service my first time here will not be back !

Arrived yesterday after booking a table sometime ago to watch the Euro Finals. We turnt up, only to be told we could not get in, even though we had pre booked. There were loads of people queuing too. Why over book on such an event. Disappointing to say the least. Terrible service. *update* Thanks for your response Eddie. But it was actually your staff in a hi vis jacket outside that told me I wasn't going to get in!! You were apparently over booked. He said the only thing I could do is Join the queue and wait and see if I get in. There were loads of people outside. Other people that were supposed to be joining us never came due to this. You spoilt the whole event for us all, Ontop of that you embarrassed me as I booked it, and I don't think an offer of a free drink would cut it..... Do you?

The Bickley Arms was an incredible experience for the Euros final! Jack was particularly helpful with taking us to our table and pointing out the tasty burger shack. He was very attentive with drinks and food and made our whole experience so enjoyable. Shame about the result but we’ll be back because of the service with Jack!

Brilliant place, food amazing and staff were lovely.

There was this lovely waitress her name was sienna she provided great service and we were able to have a lovely convo. She was also very attentive and adhered to my needs

The service was poor, slow and forgetful. No drinks service at the table. 30 mins wait for a coffee. Gravy was acidic and, for me, rendered the meal inedible. The one Blue badge parking bay was closed off.

We reserved a table for 8 people after our countryside walk in Chislehurst and were very pleased with everything. The service was excellent, the food fantastic and the decor of the place beautiful. They even have a few tasty vegan options on the menu, we especially enjoyed the lambles lamb which was excellent. I'm very surprised with the overall low rating of this beautiful place, our visit was definitely 5/5. Thank you

What a wonderful find!! We had the perfect afternoon lunch in the most stunning garden. From the meet and greet from the manager at the front door to the fantastic service and delicious food we felt nothing but pampered throughout the entire time. I had the chefs special “Witch Sole” on the waitresses recommendation it didn’t disappoint !!! The rest of the party went for the street food option also delicious. Hard to believe it’s a pub!! What a great venue, we will be back.

Food is very poor. Beef stew was awful - tiny lumps of hard beef - hardly any veg - a smattering of peas and carrots in a bland watery sauce. Two huge dumplings tried to rescue a sad excuse for a stew. £18 for this was outrageous!! Cheeseburger and fries was underwhelming for a pricey £17!! Service on the other hand was efficient and friendly - no complaints and they did remove said beef stew from the bill. Such a shame the food is so poor as its a beautiful pub.

This is a very pleasant and social place to meet and have drinks and eat with friends and family.

Service was good. Few minor details, such as no salt and pepper on table, no butter for toast with soup. I had mussels as a main, delicious flavour but overcooked and it would have been nice to have some bread to mop up the mussel sauce. Reasonably priced.

My husband and I held our wedding reception there it was very good service and food. Olga the event coordinator helped with everything and could have been able to hold this special day without her help. Highly recommend

We love coming down here and last night was no different, we had a wonderful Sunday dinner. The place is very dog friendly, inside and outside. Staff were fantastic and the food was great too. The only small mark down is due to our table (inside) being close to the door going outside which was left open and it was a breezy.

Dora was absolutely lovely and so hardworking. Though very busy she accommodated us and the food was very nice.

Although this is a large establishment with plenty of seating areas l can't say it has any outstanding features other than the obvious pride their serving staff have in pleasing their customers. 2 of us asked for hot water because we were chilly after visiting the caves and it came in teapots with a cup and saucer free of charge. Everyone's orders were accommodated albeit a little slowly as there were 19 of us. I struggled to find something on the menu as lm not a huge lunch person. I wanted a toasted sandwich ( they seemed to have fallen out of fashion) but ended up with two fairly black lustre sides. My friends mains looked fine and no one else seemed to have any trouble with the menu. They could do with better vegetarian and vegan options. One of us managed to find macaroni cheese on the kids menu. Wished ld seen that. My battered sausages were a bit boring. This place obviously comes into it's own in warmer weather with two large outdoor seating spaces, one in front and one behind. There's a basket of blankets and extra cushions by the sliding doors. Unfortunately our tables were closed by this too which was a bit breezy. It's not far from the local rail station or the caves.. It's a Youngs tavern therefore expect to see the usual range of beers, ciders and lager. If you download the Youngs app, enter the location it will guide you through your options.

I organised my Mum's 80th party at the Bickley Arms in their Camden room. It was a lovely room for the party a good size and a great atmosphere. All the staff were very attentive and it was so good to have their Events Manager tending to us! She was there when we needed her and disapeared when we didn't. Thanks so much!

It’s a shame as I used to loved this pub but I don’t know what has happened to the quality. A burger a chips for nearly £20 and it was one of the worst burgers I have ever had. The staff were very friendly but they delivered the wrong food firstly and then messed up the second order. Again the staff were not rude and were very lovely so i am not bothered about a bit of human error but for the price it cost it was very disappointing. It’s a great pub but I don’t think I will ever come for food again

We went for the Sunday roast and found the service and food great. The food is absolutely delicious and worth the cost. The sticky toffee pudding was more of a sponge and could of been a bit better in terms of ingredients but the main roast dinner was one of the best we have had!

Wonderful pub with lots of room and a friendly staff. They were very accommodating for my party of 20. Nice atmosphere, good food and very clean. Can't ask for more! Will be back soon.

Bickley Arms is one of those pubs you seek, amazing food (massive portions), superb attentive service (thanks Rebecca) and an overall excellent vibe throughout. Plus good choice of quality wines. Highly recommended.

Amazing roast. We had the t-bone sharing roast and it was incredible. Lovely service and nice space.

A good venue for Sunday lunch however, get there earlier than evening as they can run out of stuff. Staff are great and food is good. They are also dog friendly.

We had a lovely, relaxed afternoon at the Bickley. Great menu and food! The staff were so lovely especially with our two dogs. They got a lot of attention in the dog area. Snacks and their own water bowl- very attentive service.

Called in Lunchtime on a Friday. Excellent pint of ale and my wife served with a delicious glass of house red wine. Gentleman behind the bar was welcoming and very friendly. We also had a delicious sausage roll to accompany our drinks. I highly recommend this bar/restaurant . Ten out of ten for everything.

The food is lovely, the staff are friendly and the pub is clean. There is only one fault which happens every time I go, when they bring your food over, they don’t bring any cutlery with them; so your given your food which is hot but it’s going cold whilst you wait for them to get you a knife and fork… there is also no salt and pepper on the tabes. When I get my food I like to tuck into it but instead you’re left looking at the food and having to wait to eat it.

We booked a wake at very short notice and were impressed with Olga when she called back. Everything went to plan. The staff were amazing and the food was of very good quality, served piping hot and very tasty. Our thanks to all of the staff.

Had afternoon lunch food was lovely and hot, staff were very attentive and kind, there was a lovely atmosphere and it is decorated tastefully. I also like the fact that you are not cramped in plenty of room and space between the tables.

Family meal £22 per roast, 8 of us booked and disappointing. Meat was inedible. Staff were kind but this was a special occasion and we will not return.

We were gracefully waited by a beautiful lady called Dora, really enjoyed the food and the service, will definitely be coming back for seconds.

My husband and I finally had the pleasure of eating at the Bickley with our 2 disabled pugs. We had come from a far way but it was worth all the train rides and hassle to get there. We were greeted by a very lovely staff, Dora being one of them who waited on us hand and foot and with a smile! The decor was cozy chic with great lighting and from what I remember one song after the next which brought me back to my youth. The food was good and the pornstar martinis were made with extra TLC. Thank you everyone for making our visit an amazing one. We look forward to the warmer days and next time, we now know the route and won’t be late. Thank you for holding our table 💕

The food really let it down - waiting staff get the stars - they were doing well dealing with multiple complaints about the food. Had Sunday roasts - meat was poor, undercooked, chewy and flavourless. Won’t be going back.

Dora and Savannah were amazing! We were a party of 17 and it was flawless service. Food was lovely.

I visited the Bickley Arms this evening in the company of my wife as a little treat for Valentines day. Upon arrival we were greeted by a young lady who I believe was called Lotty, she was very helpful in seeing us to a table as we had not mad a reservation. The food was good and the service we received from Lotty was even better, even our dog was offered a bowl of water and a delicious bag of treats. I would defiantly return to this restaurant again there was a good variety on the menu. Thank you for a great evening and thank you for the exceptional service.

i travelled to Bromley area for holiday, came here for lunch with my family and had a pleasant experience thanks to a wonderful server Kai, the food was lovely and the atmosphere was family friendly. would 100% recommend this pub, i’ll be back!!!

The pub, from an Architectural prospective is really interesting which makes for a nice atmosphere. We had Sunday lunch there, which was fine. But I do wish they would get larger plates rather than cramming it into a small plate that isn’t suitable - which spoils the experience in my opinion.

Table was not cleared of dirty tissue glasses and dips left from previous guests. Cleared after 2 hours.When cleared table left filthy as nobody wiped anything clean. Simple hygiene .

Went here for a Sunday roast. The food was nice and served by Grace it was only her second day but she seemed really at home and provided good service.

Came here for a birthday drinks with friends and had a good time, good vibes in the garden. We then went into the restaurant and was served by Grace she went above and beyond for us and even got us some candles for the birthday cake 10/10 service.

Simply put, they know how to cook a roast. The pub itself is a fantastic building over multiple levels, stylishly presented and with a large outside space. Actually had a decent vegan roast as well for my partner which wasn't the standard vegan option you seem to get most places. Veg portion a little bit meagre, but still very much hit the spot. Recommended.

Chose Bickley Arms as we have always had good service and excellent food, especially Sunday lunch. However latest visit was disapointing food not as good and sweet was not as indicated on menu. No apologies. Service was chaotic even though there were several empty tables. Shame, in my opinion maybe victim of own success. Previously, definitely worthy of five star.

Beautiful pub, the food was delicious! We had a wonderful time. The staff were very polite and attentive, I was chatting to one of the managers at the bar who started some interesting facts about the history of the building. Looking forward to my next visit! Can't wait to see the garden properly. It was too cold to be spending time outside.

Only really gets 2 stars cause service was great. The food was awful though. Squid starter had tiny shavings of squid but 90% batter. I had a beef roast and they were very stingy with the portion, I had no sauce, half a carrot and a very little cabbage…the beef was well cooked but tasteless. Finally the yorkshire was dry and sad…

Nice pub! Great staff and shout it to new management for turning the place around! Foods great and service first class. Recommend visiting on the weekend for some chef specials!

Nice looking pub, food no so good, roast beef very tough, spoon of cabbage red and green, one half of a carrot, 3 potatoes, nice Yorkshire. Bramley apple crumble had 3 different apples with the skins left on which were tough, dessert plate left full of apple skins, complaint fell on deaf ears. Won't be returning

We had a table booked for 12:00 but the pub opened lated at 12:10. There was no apology for the late opening. The food was OK, but items were missing from our plates, and were brought out later. The gravy was like water. We were really cold at our table as staff and customers keep leaving the doors open. My children got up to close the doors about a dozen times, and no members of staff did anything about it. They were out of the drink that my son ordered. Overall, very disappointing.

Expected a lot from this pub. However the service really let them down. Service was extremely slow. We arrived and asked for 10 minutes to look through menu for drinks & food. 30 mins later I had to find a server to take our order. Drinks took another 20 mins to arrive. Food came not long after. Fish & chips were nice. The roasts however were fatty. We asked for salt & pepper & condiments which took another 10 minutes. So our food sat there whilst we waited for those. At no point were we asked if everything was ok & to be honest trying to get someone’s attention was hard work. We also found it difficult to tell who was staff and who was not as everyone was in casual clothing. Maybe a badge to say staff would be helpful. The quickest thing we got was the bill & they had the cheek to bring over the bill with the machine at the same time. Such a shame because I have heard good things about this pub. We also noticed other tables went to the bar to get their own drinks & desserts were brought out whilst finished dining plates were still on the tables.

Great beer selection, lovely ambient and very friendly people at the bar. Haven’t tried the food yet, but will update my review once have it. Edit: I did try the food during Christmas time, and it was great :) Please keep the Neck oil in the menu at all cost.

I’ve been going to Chistlehurst for about 12 years, and have been going to the Bickley for a large amount of those. Look, it’s a pricy pub, but it’s fantastic. Great location, great atmosphere, great staff. I’ll continue going as long as it stays as it does!

Me and my husband decided to go to the Bickley for our date night, we hadn’t booked a table but we were greeted at the bar and helped with a table for drinks first and then somewhere to eat after. Bar staff were welcoming helpful and friendly and our waitress Mia was great too. We had the Camembert sharer to start which was amazing, super hot and cooked perfectly, our mains had a nice gap in between and again were so good, I would recommend the cottage pie, very tasty and had lots of well cooked meat inside, the fish and chips as always was a winner for my husband. Having visited the Bickley numerous of times I can see that it has improved massively and the staff and atmosphere has excelled! We will definitely be back and will bring friends and family along too!

Second visit, and both times everything has been brilliant - from the food to the service, everything is first class here. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Christmas Day. Very enjoyable, friendly and efficient staff. Will return and recommend. Turbot was tasty as was the Turkey. Beef was underdone.

Had Christmas dinner here it seems like everything was done on a conveyor belt .. we had a young lad serve us I think was unexperienced he did is best, there wasn’t really any atmosphere, no background music starters was nice dinner was okay dessert was terrible .. Christmas pudding was like a cake with ice cream.. crumble was bitter we didn’t eat .. shame we was looking forward to it nearly £100 ahead, I expected more

Had a lunch for 18 people at the Bickley What a lovely pub, lots of different sections (loved the cozy tented cover section) The staff were so attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. Nice 'L' shaped table which accommodated us well Would recommend for a big group with kids and will be back

Really nice food, super polite staff but food isn’t exactly cheap. However it is great quality, cooked perfectly and the atmospheres lovely.

Booked the Bickley for a group birthday celebration in December and had a fantastic time! Olga arranged all the booking and pre-orders for us and was just brilliant. She was swift to respond to requests even adding a last minute guest for us the day...

Awful, awful, awful pub. Used to be quite nice and has gone completely downhill in the last few years. Went there for a family Christmas meal last weekend with relatives who were in town. The host who greeted us said we didn’t book and debated us on this point. When we pulled out the booking reference for evidence she rolled her eyes. We were then crammed onto a smaller table and the service went completely downhill from there. Slow service, food all came at different times. Wait staff were all completely inexperienced and stressed out. When i went to the bar (because we couldn’t get a waiter to take our orders at the table) and the staff were bickering behind the bar and complaining about customers. Will never go back here again

Regretfully, we didn’t have a great experience at the Bickley. While the service was good, some of the food was either over or undercooked. Generally, I do like the pub but it works for me as a summer pub with great burgers and drinks but...

We hired the pleasant upstairs meeting room for a play rehearsal at short notice. They prepared the room exactly as we requested and the refreshments we ordered were first-rate. The room hire cost was included in the refreshments bill. They turned on the very effective room heating straight away.

Ordered the Sunday beef roast waited along time but pub was very busy. Food arrived but was lukewarm, waitress arrived to check we were happy. Took plates away & said I am getting 2 fresh meals. Waited a fair time again but meals still came back lukewarm. Good atmosphere nicely decorated. Lots of staff milling around.

We had lunch here today. The whole experience was shambolic at best. I had a pram and got in the front door to be greeted with the stairs when i asked fhe staff for help i was led around to the step free acess which was through the car park and a gate. I was made to feel like this was something i should have already known and that i shouldn't be bothering the staff in this way. We had preordered all our food at the restaurant's request. They got the order wrong and then staff were quite confrontational rather than conciliatory as they did not believe they were wrong despite being shown the email correspondence of them acknowledging the order in full. Everything felt like a battle....ordering drinks, 3 of the meals were 90 mins late, incorrect deserts. The staff continued with the passive aggressive attitude the whole time. The new shift helped when they came on and they were at least upbeat and cheery, but that was late in the day. Other diners were having similar issues as people were talking about it in the bathrooms. Maybe the team was just having an off day, but boy, was it a doozy. They did give 20% off the bill and the meals that were 90mims late were given on a complimentary basis in the end but this venue for me was not a win er which is a shame as we are local.

We booked in for a Christmas catch up with family with 13 guests. They asked for pre orders 2 weeks beforehand. We replied as requested, then on the day they missed off 3 meals and when brought to their attention (after the food didn’t arrive), the waitress challenged me that I hadn’t ordered the food correctly. I showed the email with the orders on, she then challenged me as to when the email was sent. It was very confrontational and awkward implying I was at fault. Needless to say a massive wait for food, 30 minute wait to bring any drinks over. They brought out the wrong order of ice creams and forgot the coffees. It took an age for them to clear any plates and empty glasses. The whole experience was a jumbled mess and ended up being quite stressful in what should have been a relaxing afternoon. It felt like they were short staffed as we were left waiting for long periods of time wondering where they were. In fairness the younger waiters who started later in the day were much friendlier but our experience with the other was really poor. They gave a discount which was something but it doesn’t compensate for the bad experience. We will go to another pub next time.

I came here for dinner with a friend and the food was amazing especially the Bickley burger and crispy squid! The service was amazing by our waitress mia and also the barman Matthew making us cocktails throughout the night. 100% recommend
