Went here for the first time to see a band play and it has a really good atmosphere, good service and you can't really tell its by a busy road feels more like its tucked away in a country lane

Had a great time here on Saturday, a delicious bite to eat in the garden then a bit of a boogie afterwards with a great live band. Plenty of space, good vibes and attentive staff.

This pub has everything. Great service, brilliant menu, fantastic music, great atmosphere, olde world charm with all modern expectations. It's a little gem.

We popped in for a quick pint but ended up having a second. Nice atmosphere, huge protected patio, and a restaurant, which we will try another time.

We went for a late Christmas meal. Ben was very accommodating with changing our booking. Service from Charlie was brilliant and the food was amazing!

For my older generation this seems to be the only traditional pub in Locksbottom.

The pub is really well laid out and a great atmosphere, it has a garden wheelchairs can get in dogs are allowed throughout the whole pub and the garden the food was exceptional the staff are happy I'm really helpful a great little pub

Decent pint of Guinness pulled here, allowed to settle and then delivered to our table by Chris. Fantastic , Chris knows how it’s done and she is a bar person.

I wasn't expecting much food-wise from this trip. It was a last minute quick bite to eat. I was wrong! The food was really lovely. Very well cooked. Fabulous vegetables. Everyone's meals were delicious and nothing was left. We had beef and ale pie, salmon and the sea bream. We were served my Carol. She made the evening! What a brilliant host and waitress! She was very helpful at aiding our wine selection. We will definitely be returning.

Friendly staff and good beer from a Kent brewery. The beer garden is fantastic with outdoor screens for sport. Would recommend a visit.

Lovely little local country pub with live music and a fantastic beer garden. Nice staff, local Kent brewery Shepherd Neame serving their award-winning and very popular ales and beers. Did not try the food so cannot comment. Live music quite often here, from jam nights to bands playing everything from Indie rock to blues and jazz, so there is something for everyone. Met a lovely couple too, also music lovers, and just got on chatting - this is a friendly place with lovely people, easy to get to just off the A21.

I didn't find the pub very welcoming and nothing from today's visit made me think any differently. The pub was fairly quiet and apart from saying a few words of greeting I may as well have not been there. I know I'm rather unconventional but I'm not unfriendly and I'm polite. It wouldn't hurt for the staff to be a bit warmer to an occasional visitor

A great open mic experience was had by one and all.. then I stopped playing. .

Booked a table for the World Cup, 24 hours later they decided to cancel my booking. Lady who took my booking was polite friendly (we even spoke about the booking being specially for the World Cup) and was told it was fine. Lady who cancelled my booking spoke down at me, had no reasoning for cancelling my table other than “we just don’t do it” and “reserving a table of 7 might pee off the regulars”.

Went here for a beer and a light bite, pub was a bit empty but I'm not really bothered about that, the pint of Hurlimans was good for a Shepherd Neame. At 14.95 for a burger and chips, I wasn't expecting the world but it was borderline inedible and yes, I should have spoken to the staff but I was in a hurry, and hungry enough to look past it. The only part of the pub that isn't constantly draughty and cold is the table by the sports TV.

Recently visited this venue great customer service, staff are great fun entertaining and professional. There is very nice vibe good friendly locals, great place to sit outside in a lovely little town style garden, good assortment of plants and seating on a decked area very pleasant atmosphere give it a try. There is some short term work currently going on in the maintenance of the garden so to be it shows that someone takes pride in this place very pleased with the visit. Just seen plates of food going by to some customers in the garden Tapas I believe looks very good will be back again soon

A parking enforcement system is now in operation which caught us out. Regular customers may not be aware of this, and no clear warnings unless you go the bar. No doubt a nice earner for the pub, but they've lost a few lucrative customers by doing this. Food was OK.

Smashing traditional pub (nearly 400 years old ) with great well priced food, nice beer garden, a good range of ales served by friendly staff. A very relaxed feel and wheelchair friendly. Well worth a visit with the family especilly for the Sunday roast.

Fabulous traditional pub. Great head manager by the name of Tim. Again, The menu is traditional but good enough. If you fancy a drink or meal in a nice atmospheric pub, then you can't go wrong with this one.

Very limited choice of mains. Seems to offer lots of tapas but confusing to order. Not impressed with some of the bar staff as seemed more interested in their mobile phone than serving me at the bar. Waited for a couple of minutes in full view but then decided to go elsewhere. Was served a cloudy pint of ale, which in fairness was changed when I mentioned it, but should I have needed to mention it? Don't think I will be returning any time soon.

Great pub....Traditional, Fantastic Staff and Service. Just popped in for a drink and there was a Jazz band on so lovely and busy. Will be back to try the roast ❤️

Nice place. A four hundred year old pub. The beer is a reasonable price. Saw the menu, it's like a traditional old fashioned style menu, could do with updating for more healthy style food. Lovely atmosphere here with a little entertainment on certain days.

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Food wise I would say depends on what you order... I ordered a vegetarian curry and wasn't very impressed. Raisins don't belong in a curry. Whereas others ate burgers which looked nice.

There's certainly a vibe of a old pub here so it's nice. The night I went was an 'Open Mic Night' & at times, before 10pm it certainly Drew quite a crowd; pretty well standing room only... Would be better to review on a night without the Music...

Great staff and the beer garden is a wonderful sun trap.

Visited for lunch, scanned the NHS COVID app on arrival using phone and were shown to an outdoor table, the pub is well organised with hand sanitisers freely available and directional arrows on the floor as to which way you should go. Ordered a couple drinks and lunch, fish finger sandwich with very fresh bread and a Sautéed chicken salad, the salad was beautifully presented and was absolutely delicious, will certainly have again next time we stop by for lunch.

Perfect social distancing measures in place. Lovely staff and amazing food. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Amazing food was there on Tuesday, carrol (i believe her name was) was an amazing host, feeling like this might be my new local :) Place is massive inside and out, garden even has a tv, so for summer this is gonna be the hot spot.

visited here recently on several occasions with friends and it's a nice little pub. We sat in the garden on two occasions as it was nice weather. Shame about the heaters not working under one of the parasols as it was a little chilly. I sat indoors last night with hubby and it was a nice atmosphere. Quite busy but it was two nights before another lockdown so I think people were making the most of being able to go out for a drink. Good distancing between tables together with plastic screens and plenty of sanitiser everywhere.

Slow to attend, very expensive poor quality ale & Larger. This pub needs a revamp or it will close.

We visited Ye Olde Whyte Lyon this evening for a drink, we have used this pub frequently in the past and were looking forward to seeing how they were dealing with COVID. On arrival at the pub there was hand sanitizer freely available, directional arrows to show which way to enter and exit the pub and we were promoted to wait for a member of staff to take our details and seat us, this was dealt with promptly and efficiently by the staff. At this time of COVID we felt very comfortable sitting in the bar area as social distancing between tables was observed and staff took drink orders from us and then brought them to our table. Staff were working extremely hard to take care of all the customers and did this extremely well. We enjoyed a few drinks but the star of the show surely must be the Hurlimann draft lager. Note to Shepherd Neame - Hurlimann is available at Ye Olde Whyte Lyon but at no other Shepherd Neame pubs that we have visited recently. We have recently stayed at the Dog & Bear Lenham - The Miller Arms Canterbury and The Sun Inn - Faversham and no Hurlimann is available at any of these pubs, it is a real shame, I am of the opinion that if you have a great product then you should make it available at as many establishments as possible. Once again I would like to thank all staff at Ye Olde Whyte Lyon for making this a comfortable and enjoyable visit.

Nice pub, service good, few car parking spaces. Two of our group enjoyed the food. I had beef pie, the filling was tasty but the pastry was a real struggle to cut into, in fact the pastry case was hard, the puff pastry on top was OK.

Brighter in there than before. Think it's had a makeover. Was a little quieter but seen some good live bands here on occasion.

Had a fantastic Christmas Day at the Whyte Lyon, food wonderful service great atmosphere warm and friendly. This is the first time we had eaten out on Christmas Day but would certainly book again next year. Special thanks to all the team Charlie on customer service, Andy the chef for catering for special dietary requirements. Could not fault it.

Whyte lion was awful. I watched the football alongside an unwanted foosball table, a very large dehumidifier and the empty glasses from our previous rounds. Not great!

Food ok but do feel it has gone down hill from the last time I was there

Dingy little place with awful deco and out of character modern electric fire feature high up on the wall, just tacky. Food was awful. Slow, rude and unfriendly old ladies running the show...oops! :-(
