The coffee was the worst I’ve had in ages. I’m no connoisseur but I know when it’s good or bad! On the plus side the server offered a refund immediately as though he knew it wasn’t good. The decor is perfectly matched to the location of one of World War II’s best known fighter squadron bases and almost nostalgic. We didn’t try the food although there was a large selection of classic cakes.

Saturday afternoon at 3:45 there were 3 staff working. In the queue there were 6 people in front of me. 1 member of staff was serving, 1 washing up and 1 clearing tables. It took 25 MINUTES to get served. There was no urgency, no thought about serving customers first, and washing up, clearing tables later. It was honestly the worst service I’ve had in years. They clearly needed a serious amount of training so whoever manages the place, train your staff please!

Fab cafe especially if you like planes! Watch the Spitfire take off on its regular trips around Kent. Pics added are of an American Mustang that flies occasionally from the Spitfire hangar on the far side of the airfield.

I took my 2 year old and my mum there 17th August for some lunch as my little one loves planes. First of all the outside area is fully fenced off, so my 2 year old had a full run of the place which she enjoyed. The inside is air conditioned, so when needing a break from the heat, it was perfect. There was plenty free parking directly in front of the cafe All in all fantastic place, great service, food was lovely and not overpriced (was not expected) i would 100% recommend.

Good coffee (Costa) and clean and warm on a cold day! Don't expect cooked food, but baguettes, croissants etc. available. Also a good selection of nice looking and large cakes. Plus an excellent view of aircraft taking off and landing. These include business jets from all over Europe and beyond and the amazing Spitfires.

Great location and facilities if you are keen to watch the aircraft movements. Close enough to the threshold of runway 03 for good photos of bizjets with a 300mm lens. Food freshly prepared so may need to wait for order. Generous salad with tasty roasted veg tart. More UK airports should have an officially sanctioned runway side facility like this. It's good business and good for community relations.

Came for afternoon tea for 4 with my family. Staff had reserved us a nice table near the airfield with a good view, and food was quickly brought out. Afternoon tea was a generous portion (well worth the money). Highlight was the choice of sandwichs, I think there was about 6 different fillings to choose from. We didn’t finish it all so staff packed it up for us ti take home. Would recommend as a nice place for lunch or afternoon tea in Biggin Hill.

It was a drizzly day, the Biggin Hill Museum was closed for some reason, so we popped in here for a coffee and cake, our usual treat on Wednesdays. What a find, you think you're going into a tine cafe, but it's so much more! A lovely area for sitting outside on better days, secure so children can't escape near the aircraft and runway.

We took our 94 year old dad to the Lookout Cafe for the first time. The food choice was good and we had to wait for our hot drinks. The seating area inside is brilliant, but there is a lack of seating space outside. We had problems, as dad used a walker to get about. Like he has to now, we found out it's best to go early next time to get a good table.

We took our ASD children here for a little outing to watch the planes and what a lovely setting. Apparently the food is super too although we didn't have any this time. Our teacher arranged it and we were so spoilt! Just before we left each child was presented with a beautiful Teddy, a lovely Biggin Hill hat and some aeroplane chocolates! Just so so thoughtful. Our kids were absolutely overjoyed! Thank you soooo much to staff that made this happen. It was such a heartfelt thing to do.

I took my class of 7 students, all with additional needs for lunch and to watch the airplanes. The staff reserved the table as I had previously emailed and requested one. The staff were excellent, Harry was so helpful. Unfortunately they had run out of rice to got with the chilli and we had to have jackets. However they understood our needs and gave use some toast and even catered off menu for sausages and baked beans. We sat and watched the planes and helicopters taking off. Jan was lovely and accommodating we were even given some teddies as we left. It was the perfect day out!

Lovely cafe, spacious and big windows to see out of on cold days. Food Lovely, outside areas are nice with lots 0f space, only downside was we went on a warm day and not much shade if any, we asked for an umbrella for the table as we had small children that needed shade but was told they hadn't arrived yet, this was few months ago and they still not arrived.

The manager and the Lookout Cafe Team were amazing! Our son asked to have a birthday party at the cafe so he and his friends (and our's) could watch the planes. Jan and her team went above and beyond to make our son's day so special! The food platters and pizzas were fantastic. They even created party bags for the children which we didn't expect and were overwhelmed by this as each contained a BH airport teddy and toys which they all loved! We could not fault them at the cafe at all, and would highly recommend them for events, especially with children with additional needs. Thank you to everyone at the Lookout cafe, especially Jan!

I'm sorry to say that this is a very unorganised cafe. The staff are friendly and helpful, but there is a lack of care. On my visit I spent over £30 on drinks and food. My husband and sons food came to the table, I was left waiting for an hour, with no sign of my food. When my husband chased it, they said 10 minutes. Then a little while after that, the man came to me and said, we've lost your receipt and we don't know what you ordered. So I explained what it was, and then told I'd have to wait another 10 minutes for it. I told them to just leave it, as my husband and son had finished their food. I was given a refund, but had to leave without eating. I usually like going to the lookout, but I've been disappointed by their service a few times now. Such a shame.

If interested in planes then the Lookout Coffee Shop is a great place to go. Situated to the side of the Biggin Hill Airport runway its a place to watch small aircraft take off and land. Don't be surprised to see and hear the sound of Spitfires taking off as there are a few stationed at the airport. On a sunny afternoon, with the seating outside as well, it is a very pleasant way to enjoy an hour or so, enjoying the sights and sounds whilst taking advantage of the pleasant food and drink offered by the Lookout Coffee Shop. Visiting family for Christmas, (I'm from Lincolnshire), was shocked how rediculously expensive everything was in Bromley including even basic food, l could have a 3 course meal in Lincoln for price of a starter is some of the places here!! The Terrace Cafe was a breath of fresh air, really acceptable prices, big menu and good quality food, surprised also on the decent portion sizes. Not surprised they were busy! (I'm writing this review while still in the cafe). Well done guys.
