The only disadvantage is that the toilet is downstairs and there is no lift as it is and old buildings. However, it is a very lovely place to have the most delicious Spanish food. The paella was espectacular.😋😋😋😋

Superb evening enjoyed 13th January, a testament to the popularity of this restaurant was the fact it was very busy on a Monday night. Great service superb tapas and wonderful wine, thoroughly recommended, a real gem.

This is a a remarkable restaurant. We've been coming here for almost 4 years. And it's our local 'go to'. The food is terrific, the service fabulous and the atmosphere (especially in the evenings) is lively without being noisy. There's a lovely hubbub of conversation, laughter and interaction. The selection of food and wines is too drawer. I've never had a bad meal. I've also never had a cheap night out here! But that's got more to do with my inability to restrain myself from selecting just a couple more options!! It gets busy and you may struggle to get a table at the last minute on a Friday or Saturday. So plan ahead. And book in advance. It's popular. And there's a reason for that!

It’s not a Spanish tapas! It’s run by Eastern Europeans that reheat food using a microwave and play Spanish music in the background! Please don’t get ripped off like I just did for £115! Also they let people smoke out the front so all the cigarette smell comes in when your eating! What a fraudulent restaurant run by imposters!

I am sad to say that this is an overpriced tapas place that doesn't match quality Paid almost 8£ for the thinnest slice of Spanish tortilla. The same price for three tablespoons of patatas bravas. Paid so much money overall and left feeling hungry and angry 🤣

A wonderful meal the food was piping hot. The waitress was so lovely. It made our night after a few tough weeks!! Would recommend the aubergines with goats cheese and honey. Prawns with chili Ham croquettes everything was delicious plus the cocktails. Thanks to all your hard working staff.

One of the best tapas places I've been this year. The menu was amazing and truly Spanish. The gambas, pulpo, pork cheeks and tarta de Santiago merit special mention. The Cerro Añon tinto crianza was excelent. Service was five stars. We will be coming back!

I love tapas and have been to a lot of restaurants both in central London and around the Bromley area. This is the best for all round experience. The food is fantastic. All the usual dishes but a number of individual ones to El Molino such as fried aubergine with goat cheese and honey and chicken and seafood saffron rice. One dish that always tells a tapas restaurant apart is chorizo in red wine. So many cook the chorizo and just splash some red wine in the dish. Not at El Molino, the chorizo falls apart. Service is excellent, staff don’t just look after specific tables they all look out for others. Out waitresses had a smile on her face all night long which makes a difference. The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing in restaurant. Outstanding tapas restaurant that I can’t recommend highly enough

Celebrating a friend's birthday we had the best evening. You can always rely on the busy atmosphere, great food, service and really good wine selection and cocktails. It never disappoints!

The male managers attitude is very blunt and uncomfortable…. Makes you want to not even start! Not for the first time. He is so rude I like this place but will not return.. I can see other reviews here saying the same!

Staff were super friendly and efficient. Tapas was very good and pretty chunky portions.

Went for a meal with my wife and daughter. And was absolutely knocked out by the food and how delicious it was. Not one dish had anything left on it as it was so tasty. The feel and look of the restaurant was very good. And the service was faultless. So if you should fancy treating yourself or the family. I highly recommend going.

Went today I can honestly say what an awful experience! Restaurant empty - then asked “have we booked?” Unwelcoming. Calamari had a long black hair in the dish and was told “it sometime happens!” No apologies. Food was really not great. Staff and service even worse! Ruined my afternoon. Expensive and disgusting. Terrible attitude! Don’t bother.

I don't really like tapas that much, but I LOVE this place. It's our favourite restaurant in the area and our go to when my wife and I can get out for the evening without the kids. Great atmosphere, great wine, great food and great desserts. Literally can't say a bad word about this restaurant. We're lucky to have it so close by :)

You may as well be in Spain were it not for the fact that Penge high street is on the other side of the door! Food awesome, always a friendly face at the door, good service, not all Iover you but attentive enough to not feel like you're there. Can never complain about this place!

6pm Thursday I walk in "Hi, table for 1?" No answer, tap tap on laptop "will 1 hour be enough for you because we get very busy at 7. You can take any of the tables over there". I should have left there & then. Good customer service is not only for when it's quiet. Being the first contact a customer makes with your restaurant is an important role & should be held by someone who can speak politely with everyone at all times. The waitresses who served me were nice but the man who "greeted" me on arrival made me feel so unwelcome I kept my coat & scarf on the whole meal. I was back in my car within 30mins. I've had more pleasant dining at a Mcdz drive thru. I had meatballs, calamari, spinach & goat cheese something & patatas bravas. All ok but not great. It seems the dishes I had & some of their customer service caters to a certain demographic, of which I am not. No need for me to ever go back.

Forst time I've ever had tapas and I can say this place made me feel like I've been missing out. Food is amazing the flavour combinations were absolutely on point! There was four of us and we all ordered 3 dishes each and shared between us which left everybody stuffed! Went for a birthday and they even bought out a cake with a candle! Love the food love the staff and love the atmosphere definitely recommend!

One of those unassuming hidden gems on a quiet local high street on the outside, but really packs an exquisite punch on decor, wine list and food. An experience that couldn't be faulted. Selection of tapas amongst 7 of us all hit the mark, with special mention to the aubergine tapas.

Raw chicken, undercooked potato’s, bad service & highly overrated. I’m unsure how this place is so busy. The food is drenched in oil, no other flavour and all undercooked. I usually eat in Tapeo on Beckenham high street, the service there is 100 times better as is the food. The only male waiter or manager is very arrogant as I see others have mentioned, I think they must have promoted him and now he feels as if he owns the place. There were 3 waitresses, I didn’t get any names but the 2 taller ones were too busy flirting with the chef when he came out of the kitchen to be noticing any of the customers. The shorter one of the 3 was fine, no complaints. I have a photo of the gelatinous chicken that was raw but it looks quite disgusting so I’d rather not post it. I do hope the many customers this place somehow has walk down the road and try real tapas with flavour and experience good service.

Food was terrible and bland. Prawns had no taste, potatoes were under cooked, lamb was raw and was sent back and they re fired and burnt and dry on return. Forgot the desert then lied about it. Arrogant male staff. The most over rated Spanish food ever. It’s like ready meals from Tesco.

finally found my Spanish restaurant.....this evening I had a splendid dinner, everything was perfect, I couldn't have had better food, excellent impeccable service....thank you chef and manager

The worst Spanish food and service. First of all the food arrived in a few minutes (5 dishes) like it was pre cooked and it tastes like it. Prawns bland, potatoes half under cooked, rice with chicken and fish super dry! But still I kept it. Lamb comes (4 cutlets) 1 raw. I noticed after I cut and ate a piece so I sent that back. That Lamb cutlet was now re fired and came back burnt and dry. No one asked if everything was good either. We decided we had enough but my kids still wanted dessert so we asked for churros to come with the bill. 15 mins and no churros and no bill. So when we asked to just give us the bill so we can pay now we advised them the churros was not on the bill and we are still waiting. No sorry ONCE just defensive man who could not take any feedback. Before we even got there we called 3 hours before as it said to pre order the paella but was told they need more than a day notice! To cook a dish that can be done in 30 minutes? No mention that you need that much notice for a dish. I had high hopes for this place but it was seriously the worst Spanish food I have eaten. The waitress were friendly but the guy who came across as if was in charge was terrible and I will not be returning to this place and I recommend you don’t either. It’s not Spanish food!

walked in at 2pm for lunch. food came out quick and was lovely. squid melted in my mouth! some of the best tapas i’ve had, tasted very authentic (just got back from barcelona) . only fault would be the pork cheek lacked flavour. nevertheless the best restaurant in beckenham!

The family and I have been going to El Molino just short of twenty years. As always, the food is outstanding. We are particularly fond of the ham croquettes, garlic mushroom, red wine chorizo, and chilli prawns. The service and atmosphere are fabulous.

Fantastic Spanish tapas. The food was delicious - modern, fresh, and healthy. Particular standout was the aubergine. Has nice outdoor seating too, which is great and much appreciated.

Disappointing. After coming over for over 3 years, portions are tiny, and simple dishes like gammas ajillo are now over complicated with synthetic flavours. Patatas bravas, teeny portion. I’m SO sad to say I won’t be coming back any time soon

By far the best Spanish Tapas Bar in Beckenham - well worth going down Beckenham Road from Beckenham High Street - just beyond the Spa for a really good tapas. It is the second time we have eaten at El Molina - the first time on a really busy Friday night, and today on a sultry Sunday late afternoon. The food has been consistently fresh and well prepared. We could have been in Spain eating the Boqurones. The Churros tasted as if they had just been fried. Nice size portions to share and a good variety. A warm and relaxed atmosphere - and service quietly efficient. Just what we wanted in mid-August while still in London!

Been many times to this restaurant. There are only few restaurants in Beckenham worth visiting. This is right up there with the best in Beckenham. Really great tapas served by really great staff. Priced reasonably so means you eat there often rather than a special occasion. So you get a special visit every time. Keep it up. Best in Beckenham.

Had such a nice dinner sitting outside. Alex served us and she was fabulous - so friendly, really knowledgeable and extremely efficient. The food was sensational, as was the Albariño! It was all very reasonable too. So lucky to have such a high quality restaurant locally

Absolutely love El Molino! I visit quite often and the food is consistently superb - every dish just wonderful and very good value. The olives are the best ever. The staff are all so friendly and fun and the setting (with both indoor and al fresco seating) is lively and handsome too. So lucky to have this restaurant in Beckenham - it’s a gem!

This is such a fabulous space and the food is divine. There's a great selection for vegetarians, which for a Tapas place is always a bonus. We sat outside which is a little noisy but so pleasant on a summer evening. The inside restaurant is brilliant and warm and friendly. The staff are efficient and food arrives in timely manner. The best thing really is the quality of the food though it's outstanding and in many ways too

Been here twice now and both times were great! The Caipirinha cocktail was fantastic. Favourite dishes: Prawns (get some bread to soak up the lovely garlic and chilli oil they come in), aubergine with honey and goats cheeze, the chorizo a la plancha. 👌 Really enjoyed the crema catalana too and was pleased to find the churros were more like the traditional way with a darker richer chocolate instead of a sweet chocolate sauce like you get in most places.

The food here is very good! We enjoyed everything that we ordered and even asked for seconds on some of the dishes. I highly recommend the Pan con Aceite and Jamón Ibérico for starters. Also, the white sangria pitcher was just perfect and I would very much recommend it. I felt I was transported to Spain through the food, it was that good. Kudos to the chefs! Service was good as well, the only thing of note is for the Paella it is on “pre-order”, which I have never seen before at a restaurant. You have to actually notify them in advance if you want the paella which was a bit disappointing. However we ordered a few different dishes to share which tasted great, so it didn’t detract from the experience. The Alcachofas salteadas (artichoke hearts) are a must - very delicious! All in all, a great Spanish tapas spot you have to visit in Beckenham!

Lovely food, the best Spanish tapas I’ve had in a while as normally you can only get the best in Spain. The portion sizes are perfect as not too filling since it’s tapas. We ordered a chicken paella and the taste was lovely with all the veg and peppers. The service was amazing, they were very timely with the tapas and I liked the fact they didn’t bring them all out at once. The staff were so friendly and have a chat with you whilst you’re there. Deserts were so tasty, definitely recommend the churros. Will be back again!

Was really busy on an early Friday evening but they managed to find us a table for 2 had a fantastic selection of tapas, would highly recommend will be visiting it again when next staying nearby in London

We always visit El Molino it is generally nice. However I fell like there is a sense of Uah fact missing. It could be easily improved. No music at the background. The place was not warm enough. Dish very good presentation but It could be a little more gourmet. The squid was very dry. Churros was not like the last time. Just a little bit more to reach the best. I missed the time when in past we used to be served a little liquor at the end of the meal. The concerning about how my experience there, was important for the business.

This place is a local gem. Always hits the mark! There were a few changes to the manu this time and they were just as good. The aubergine with Feta and honey.. wow! And the pork cheek just melts!! I'll be back again and again and again.... and again (if you weren't sure)

Excellent food. Felt it was a little overpriced. Dishes arrived very quickly except the meat dishes, which came a few minutes after the veggies. Tapas sized portions, so you need to order 3 or 4 plates each to make a satisfying meal.

Great place to go grab a bite to eat. Lovely staff, not much else to say about this place. Not the most lively atmosphere ever but definitely decent food and a nice spot if you're nearby. I'd recommend it. Don't know of any other Spanish restaurants nearby either so if that's what you're after then this is the place for you!

I come to el Molino frequently and was really disappointed last night I have to say. A waitress took our drink orders and then took our food order and in a good time and we were looking forward to it as the food is always so nice. However as the food started to come out, we felt immediately rushed. As soon as we finished every dish, someone would come round and swiftly grab the plates off the table. I get that the kitchen try to clean as they go but I just felt so rushed whilst eating. It got to a point where a waitress came over whilst my boyfriend was still eating and a waitress grabbed the plates, and then took the napkin out of his hand 😂😂 I started laughing because I’ve never seen someone do this, what if he still wanted to use the napkin? 😂it was really bizarre. Then we ordered dessert, again feeling rushed and after finishing, a waitress came over and said hi, can I please ask u to move and sit down by the bar as there’s a woman on crutches here. I was quite confused as I booked my table a month in advance and we still were drinking our drinks and hadn’t paid yet, so wasn’t sure why we were being asked to move, the restaurant had obviously double booked maybe? But every other table was full so if just felt like we were being picked on tbh, especially as we had been so rushed all night. I obviously moved because I felt bad for a woman on crutches but surely the restaurant should have worked this out before? We were only on the table for an hour and a half so I don’t get why we had to move and give up our table. We then had to pay at the bar which I just didn’t really appreciate. Really disappointed and was going to come here in a few months for a special occasion but don’t think I will be

From the moment we walked in the reception was cold. Like we should not of been there. Food was below par, nothing special. Arrived quickly. Lacked authentic taste. Quick easy Spanish food. Better restaurants in the area.

Nice and friendly but rushed service, timing was terrible. Food arrived quickly, but we waited quite a while for the meat, the main part of the meal It was very expensive for what it is, we weren’t allowed a pint of the draught beer which is part of the rip off. We were forced to sit at a table we didn’t want, although there were empty tables available? Meal was “ok”, but the squid was awful. I won’t go back! 😡

Perhaps a tad pricey, but the food is good and service excellent. Very popular, so always busy and bustling. You have to book. Closing times vary, so check when you book.
