I ordered here for the first time and very pleased with the food quality and portion size as well as the prices.

I tried Star Shine for the first time last week, and I'm glad I did. They use good ingredients like Shitake mushrooms, mangetout, and Chinese mushrooms instead of just lots of onion slices or beansprouts. Plus, they offer great value for money! I ordered nine dishes and a hot and sour soup. The dishes include Chicken Curry, General Tso's, Malaysian Pineapple Sauce Chicken, two orders of Spicy Salt and Peppercorn King Prawns, Crispy Chili Sauce Chicken, Cantonese roast pork, Ginger and Spring Onion in Oyster Sauce Chicken, and Malaysian Satay Sauce Beef. Our favourite dish was the Spicy Salt and Peppercorn. Even though the prawns were not crispy, they tasted delicious. The English Chicken Curry was also excellent. Surprisingly, the Cantonese Roast Pork and Malaysian Satay Sauce Beef tasted even better the next day. The soup tasted different from other Chinese takeaways but was still enjoyable. While all the dishes were good, some were a bit saltier than I prefer. Message to the Chef - I would suggest using less seasoning in the "Salt". Overall, I was pleased with my order and will definitely order from them again!

The worst Chinese I’ve ever had in my life, inedible. Noodles were mushy, curry sauce had this weird chemically taste and the spring rolls were undercooked and doughy - even on the outside. Chips were just about passable as food, but everything else was impressively revolting. I don’t know how they have any repeat business at all, I didn’t know Chinese food could get this bad. Weirdly, a lot of the positive reviews mention a large portion size. The portions are exactly the same as you’d get from pretty much any Chinese takeaway, just a standard plastic box.

Good sized portions and quite cheap too but the food was awful, the Won Ton soup had an awful taste, the sweet and sour chicken wasn’t too bad but not enough sauce, the fried rice was overcooked, the Thai green curry was tasteless and watery. The Bang Bang chicken was strange, a layer of cucumber, a layer of cooked chicken draped in a layer of sauce, this was the tastiest of the dishes but it just looked odd. Maybe this was good Chinese food and I’m being fussy but I think I’ll stick with the over priced Thai in future.

I’ve been ordering from this Chinese restaurant for about 2 years now it’s always mine and my friends go too! Great food and service as always😆highly recommend!!

Best Chinese by far. Amazing food, the amount of food you get is great, and what I also love about this place is the customer service. Top notch. Today I very cheekily wrote in the notes of my order asking if they could spare me some seaweed as I didn’t quite have enough money, and I’m pregnant and craving… So as well as receiving my delicious (as always) order, I also got my seaweed:’). This is the worst Chinese I've ever had. The food was inedible. Do not buy from this restaurant.

Ordered in. No where near to the standard of my usual Chinese. We wanted to try somewhere new. Food was oily and the skewers were not edible. Chowmein was ok. But i don’t believe we’d be back. Sorry. One thing though their customer service is really Good.

Always had fantastic food and was so looking forward to it tonight but it was just not upto its usual good standards. The starters were not nice at all.

Love this Chinese, super quick delivery, always happy for a small or large order, I love the lemon chicken, yummy, friendly small mum'n'pap resturant witha range of great food, I have been ordering now for 4 years plus!

Best chinese takeaway i've had. We buy food from them all the time (30+ times easily). - Super quick delivery, never once been late, usually within 20 mins. - HUUUUGE portions, especially the chow mein and rice - Really nice quality - Good value, definitely one of the cheaper ones in Beckenham - Super consistent, never had a bad one

Probably the best Chinese food I have ever had. The special chow mien was second to none. The food arrived early and was piping hot. Great quality, quantity and excellent price.

I don’t usually post bad reviews but for the sake of future customers that feel tempted to order from here, I thought I would. Delivery was fast but driver was too lazy to come to the door and told me to come outside and get my order. When I opened my food (I had mixed veg chow mein with crispy shredded chilli beef and prawn on toast) I was greeted by this disgusting smell! The chilli beef was soggy and vinegary and had absolutely no hint of chilli whatsoever! Chow mein was utterly inedible and smelt rotten! The prawn on toast was so greasy and lacked crispiness. So disappointed as I’ve had to throw my food away! I guess you get what you pay for but I certainly didn’t expect a complete waste of money and throw my food away as it’s inedible! So NOT recommend this takeaway!

Just had a take away from them tonight. It was delicious. Good sized portions and reasonable price. Their Tom yum style tofu is the highlight and so are their Thai style mix veg noodles. I'll love to order from them again.

The Atlantic Ocean was a bit cold and wavy, more suitable for surfing, as far as I understand.

This is my favourite local Chinese takeaway. It's quick, low cost and good quality. The people who run Star Shine are always friendly and remember me and my usual order 👍

Order my Star Shine quite regularly (once a month at least) never have any problems with their food. Great sized portions for what you are paying and the occasional free drink. I order via just eat for anyone looking for a good Chinese :)

I used to use this take away once a month and I’m not one to complain normally but I had to put my opinion across I ordered chili beef and it was awful it was not very nice it was watery and vinagery and had no taste of chili when I have ordered this before it’s normally crispy and fresh and sticky the first time I ever felt the need to phone up the takeaway and say something I was quite disappointed as I used to rate this place ,

Just ordered from here. Terrible.. started off with a speedy delivery but it was wrong. After arguing with the staff that my food was infact incorrect.. they told me what I was looking at was correct and I WAS mistaken! When I definately wasn't. They eventually agreed to re-deliver the correct dishes. When the next batch came along this time the rice was correct but the main was incorrect yet again. In fear of having another argument I just threw away the main and made do with a plain rice for dinner. Don't order from here they are rude when they make mistakes. Waste of time and waste of money!

not ever going to eat again from there, absolutely disgusting, salty frozen food and the smell is terrible not hygienic at all.

Avoid ordering from here, the food was really not good, funny-smelling sauce and seaweed that was too salty to eat.
