Food was too wet and SALTY! Prawn crackers were stale/OFF! Delivery was late and the driver handed my food TO A NEIGHBOUR WHICH THE NEIGHBOUR TOOK AND I OVERHEARD AND THE DRIVER SAID HE DOESN’T KNOW! HE DID NOT BOTHER TO CHECK THE ORDER NUMBER!

unfortunately nowhere near the usual standard. squid was saturated in oil, clearly refried & very small portion. Prawns were supposed to be dry dish, came covered in sauce. didn't go with the hot and sour soup.

I don’t normally leave reviews. I have used this place before and food has been ok.This time however it was poor. Chow mein didn’t look fresh. It looked like leftover’s. Pancake rolls were far ,far too greasy. The sauce had about 5mm of oil sitting on top. I know I could stir it but the presentation was horrible. Whole lot went in the bin.. Shame really as I won’t use these again.

I tried Star Shine for the first time last week, and I'm glad I did. They use good ingredients like Shitake mushrooms, mangetout, and Chinese mushrooms instead of just lots of onion slices or beansprouts. Plus, they offer great value for money! I ordered nine dishes and a hot and sour soup. The dishes include Chicken Curry, General Tso's, Malaysian Pineapple Sauce Chicken, two orders of Spicy Salt and Peppercorn King Prawns, Crispy Chili Sauce Chicken, Cantonese roast pork, Ginger and Spring Onion in Oyster Sauce Chicken, and Malaysian Satay Sauce Beef. Our favourite dish was the Spicy Salt and Peppercorn. Even though the prawns were not crispy, they tasted delicious. The English Chicken Curry was also excellent. Surprisingly, the Cantonese Roast Pork and Malaysian Satay Sauce Beef tasted even better the next day. The soup tasted different from other Chinese takeaways but was still enjoyable. While all the dishes were good, some were a bit saltier than I prefer. Message to the Chef - I would suggest using less seasoning in the "Salt". Overall, I was pleased with my order and will definitely order from them again!

The bang bang chicken smelt so bad. The egg fried rice tasted different than usual. I might not patronise this business again. I originally wanted chicken wings but it was not available. sigh.

Outstanding food ignore any bad comments they obviously trying to get refunds off just eat .. 6* food

very inconsistent, different everytime I order. have had some good ones this one was BAD . DO NOT ORDER LEMON CHICKEN, was covered in lemon curd and something so sour I had to throw it away also only had 3 prawns in a king prawn chow mein. very disappointed

The worst and most disgusting Chinese food I have ever had. Ordered it because they had ma po tofu on the menu and you can’t often find that. However this was not ma po tofu, it was thin, disgusting, barely warm, clearly microwaved from frozen and inedible. The rest of the food was no better, all had obviously spent too long in a freezer and not long enough in a microwave. None of it tasted good, all in all it made me angry that I paid anything for it. Avoid at all costs, it’s an upsetting experience

The food itself was good but I was very disappointed with the spring rolls, there was mostly just spring onions inside with a few duck peices and no other contents. I was just biting straight into spring onions at that point, I couldn't finish it.

Possibly the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Mushy noodles, soggy undercooked spring rolls, the two sauces were basically chemical water. No thanks never again

The worst Chinese I’ve ever had in my life, inedible. Noodles were mushy, curry sauce had this weird chemically taste and the spring rolls were undercooked and doughy - even on the outside. Chips were just about passable as food, but everything else was impressively revolting. I don’t know how they have any repeat business at all, I didn’t know Chinese food could get this bad. Weirdly, a lot of the positive reviews mention a large portion size. The portions are exactly the same as you’d get from pretty much any Chinese takeaway, just a standard plastic box.

Wow absolutely delicious! Come early and food was hot. So much of it too, so that’s lunch sorted for tomorrow! Also very sweet delivery guy..loved it 👌

The duck was so hard it could have broken a window, I have pictures and videos to prove it. On the upside the lamb was ok.

I ordered from Star Shine as it was the only local place that had General Tso's on their menu. What arrived was not General Tso's. They were kind enough to replace my prawn crackers with fortune cookies, as I don't eat the former, so I can't hate them too much. The food tasted good, but again, not what I ordered sadly.

Food was hot and tasty. Delivery was almost 18mins from order time and they were in Beckenham and I'm South Norwood, so doesn't seem freshly cooked.

Arrived early but the chilli beef was inedible

Good sized portions and quite cheap too but the food was awful, the Won Ton soup had an awful taste, the sweet and sour chicken wasn’t too bad but not enough sauce, the fried rice was overcooked, the Thai green curry was tasteless and watery. The Bang Bang chicken was strange, a layer of cucumber, a layer of cooked chicken draped in a layer of sauce, this was the tastiest of the dishes but it just looked odd. Maybe this was good Chinese food and I’m being fussy but I think I’ll stick with the over priced Thai in future.

Do not order from here! Food quality is poor and not as described. Didn't even eat it because it looked inedible, unappetizing and smelt terrible. Pad thai was swimming in pink hue vinegar liquid, insipid and disgusting. Spring rolls were greasy and soggy. Worse Chinese I've ordered.

The delivery was fine, but chicken soup was just plain brown water with mushrooms. There was no chicken stock in it and starch or other ingredients , like sweet corn etc. Both soups artived in small flat plastic boxes and were awkward to get out from. Will be exploring other nearby Chinese eateries.

The food is delicious as usual. Price reasonable , good portion. Better than most takeaway joint in the neighborhood. I highly recommend Star Shine. You won't be disappointed.

The spicy salt and pepercorn chicken was utterly delicious, superb. Sadly the curry sauce tasted like chemicals, like it has been contained in a recently washed pot. It was rank and I had to throw away.

I quite like this place but it’s a bit hit and miss. The prices are amazing and delivery is fast. Most food has been amazing but the smoked chicken tasted seriously off. I ended up giving that to my dog. Apart from the smoked chicken, the rest was lovely

Best Chinese by far. Amazing food, the amount of food you get is great, and what I also love about this place is the customer service. Top notch. Today I very cheekily wrote in the notes of my order asking if they could spare me some seaweed as I didn’t quite have enough money, and I’m pregnant and craving… So as well as receiving my delicious (as always) order, I also got my seaweed:’). Great value for money, tasty food

The chilli beef was tasty and well seasoned and the lemon chicken was absolutely delicious. This restaurant does the best lemon chicken! Will be ordering this again soon as enjoyed every bite. Fast delivery too.

The food was cold when it arrived. As well as that the Singapore noodles had an overpowering taste of some seasoning which was very bitter. I will not be going back to this place.

This is the worst Chinese I've ever had. The whole thing was inedible. Do not buy from this restaurant. Just Eat refused to refund me for this dog food as well, even with clear photos of the disgusting tripe. 👎

Ordered in. No where near to the standard of my usual Chinese. We wanted to try somewhere new. Food was oily and the skewers were not edible. Chowmein was ok. But i don’t believe we’d be back. Sorry. One thing though their customer service is really Good.

Do NOT order the General Tsos items, it is a few chunks of chicken with TOO MUCH bamboo shoots cubed up and packed in, bamboo shoots have a fermented taste which overpowers everything and the taste wasnt sweet, tangy, spicy and sour, was like snot and bland and full of fermented bambooshoot taste. I have had real General Tsos in New York and this is NOT it. I had to get a refund just for that dish. Note to restaurant: Take it off the menu or actually make it how it should be.
