The best restaurants in East of England

Been in cambridge for 25 years but now back where nearest delivery for curry is milton! It was always good but now seems even better. So pleased to have used there again and would highly recommend! 1 negative is cash on delivery or pay by card on the website! Can't be doing with that (must be an age thing)

Came to visit daughter on placement from uni. Wasn’t busy but was told food be about 30 mins was over a hour till we got it. Husband had a lasagne and daughter and I had ultimate sharer, which was only 2 of each different selection?? Wouldn’t class as ultimate as needed at least 4 of each thing to feed 2 people. Husband said lasagne could had been bigger portion as well. Food was nice though but bigger portions would be great. Staff were all friendly can’t fault them. Would visit again if bigger portions.

Fabulous food, freshly cooked. If you want proper Italian food, I recommend it. I had seafood spaghetti and the shellfish were all cooked perfectly. It’s obvious that quality ingredients are a priority. The wine was excellent too. A bit on the quiet side so no need to book.

I couldn’t reccomend this restaurant more! Booked for my mums birthday on a Tuesday night and it was packed. A wonderful atmosphere, friendly attentive staff and delicious food. We had a helium happy birthday balloon on the table which was a lovely touch and they brought out our dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday. They really made it special and I will 100% be returning. They have every box ticked, which is hard to do nowadays!

Friendly customer service and the food is top notch too

We popped in for a light lunch.I had Cornish pasty with salad followed by the tastiest homemade apple pie.My friend had the quiche and then carrot cake.Superb food and reasonable prices.Served by a friendly team.All in all a nice experience.

Excellent quick service and lovely food

Great cafe on small business park outside town, good if you're passing or walking. Nice interior, plus outside seating for good weather. Good coffee, friendly people and **Awesome Malteser Rocky Road** 🍪🙂 Update: also home-made sausage rolls (pictured) and gorgeous chunky Victoria sponge (did not last long enough for photo 😋)

Lovely pub, friendly service and beautiful food. The roast and seabass with prawns and muscles were all cooked beautifully.

If you are an Aunt Bessie fan, then this is spot on! The food was edible but I am certain that everything came straight from the freezer and none (or very little) was home made/cooked.

Beautiful ambience which is what pulled me into the place walking past. Lovely staff and service, I would have stayed only that I was going for dinner. By the r time we left it was full up with a lovely buzz about this place. I am not local but will definitely return again to try more drinks and the food. Highly recommend

We had a fabulous lunch here today. My halloumi Wrap was amazing and my husband e joted his chicken Wrap. The food was gorgeous and well.presented. Our little dog was also made Welcome and given a bowl of fresh water. We were just passing through but I would recommend this cafe to all catering for meat eaters, vegetarians, vegan and those with allergies.

Visited on 2/10/23, in my 19 years ive never seen my father so ecstatic about a restaurant. We all loved the music choice and atmosphere, and the restaurant is very well situated in the peaceful chapelfield Park. The waiters were very friendly and helpful and the food was beyond fault. Can certainly say that this will be a go to whenever we're in norwich. (PS yes, the dirty fries are definitely worth the money)

What a gem; this place is amazing as are the super staff. Beer drinkers heaven with well over 100 to chose from in bottles and cans plus some great draught beers. Come here every year around my birthday and never fail to be made very welcome. Heartily recommend paying this place a visit and its only 150m from Ely Cathedral.

We were staying at The fellows house Cambridge and decided to go have some food from its in-house restaurant which was 16th restaurant of Cambridge. The restaurant was pretty empty (20% full) which was nice as we wanted a nice quiet dinner. We were seated on a table however as we had a pram with us we asked if we could be seated on the booth so we park the pram of the walk, we were moved over however the table still hadn’t been cleaned so the waiter cleaned it for us however there was still quite a lot of crumbs on the seats. We didn’t rush him or ask for that specific table so he could have seated us on a different booth or cleaned the booth properly. This ended up in my husbands top dirty with chocolate which was on the end of table. They took responsibility for it and paid for the dry cleaning. We ordered a scallops in a frozen sauce with watermelon and crispy chicken strips for starters. The scallops were not nice and we were told after they are going to be removed of the menu. For mains we both had 10 oz aged rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce and Diana sauce. I asked for medium to well done which was perfectly however my husbands asked for medium but it was very well done which ruined his mains as it was like eating cardboard with Diana sauce and fries he said. Wasn’t too sure how it was ranked 16th. There is fair better restaurants around Cambridge. The drink portions are good. I had a pornstar Martini and the Prosecco they gave was in a half pint glass.
