What a gem; this place is amazing as are the super staff. Beer drinkers heaven with well over 100 to chose from in bottles and cans plus some great draught beers. Come here every year around my birthday and never fail to be made very welcome. Heartily recommend paying this place a visit and its only 150m from Ely Cathedral.

In real mean a hidden gem because hidden in a small alley. Lovely place in lovely city. A really friendly and welcoming staff. Great service with smile. Seating is available inside and outside in terrace overlooking the fields behind the cathedral. Variety of craft beers in bottles and keg to choose from and take home or enjoy here. They also serve the best hot chocolate and coffee. Worth to visit. Happily recommend.

A fantastic little micro brewery .. getting a table here is not easy though due to its size !! But if you do manage its a wonderful afternoon chilling in the sun with a wide range of beers . Staff are all pleasant too . No food options BUT you are able to bring your own.. which is especially welcome when you are here on market day !!! A lot of food choices on stalls nearby that you can bring in !! The hardest thing will be getting your other half to leave!! ENJOY 😉

One of the few places that isn’t connected to Greene King (we think) - but apart from the good keg beer choice, the ladies who served us were both polite and accommodating. Couldn’t fault it.

Simply delightful. A lovely relaxed environment. No sports TV, no games machines, no loud music. We visited today, feeling a bit unsettled as regards to the Coronavirus pandemic, but was greeted by 2 very pleasant ladies and made welcome. There was a very nice seating area outside so decided to have our coffees brought to us there. The coffee was excellent, super hot. The music playing in the background was to our liking and made us feel very relaxed in the current unsettled times. The added bonus was the great selection of craft beers and ciders. Toilet facilities were excellent and to a very high standard. We will definitely return and recommend to friends. Well done to the staff and we wish you every success under the current circumstances.

Usually this little place is a gem of friendlyness with wonderful hot chocolates, great beers from the local counties, and a small selection of tasty food. But on occasional evenings they open up for a beer tasting event and they are excellently run, with a beer-maker talking you through a selection of ales, the processes, a bit of history of their brewery and what is planned for the future. Very enjoyable all round!

Visited this lovely cafe and craft ale bar for the first time when at the recent Ely Beer Festival. The interior and layout is snug but makes for a warm and welcoming visit. Along with this the staff were also attentive and polite. High quality ales from all around the country are available on draft and there’s an incredible selection of local bottled ales to buy. The food menu offers a good range of bar snacks (butties, soups, salads, etc) and it’s a great place to pop in for a quick bite and drink. I’ll certainly revisit when in Ely again.

Our second visit, came in June 2018 & loved it. Returned for drinks at lunchtime. The whole time a lady at the bar was talking to the staff. Not their fault & the staff were delightful. However, it did mar our visit & we spent the whole time listening to her voice. A real shame.

I was attracted by the listing in the Good Beer Guide, but it was not obvious which of the beers were cask conditioned as they were all on fonts. I was told that my choice was, but it seemed rather cold and fizzy. I was interesting, but rather expensive. A quirky place with probably more seats outside than in, and with a vast selection of bottled beer. Worth a look, but not a traditional pub.

Hidden away down an alley between the market and the car park (forehill), this is a little alehouse and coffee shop. There's plenty of outside seating if it's a nice day. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their selection of bottled beers (my companion has coeliac disease so it needed to be GF). An impromptu light lunch lead to me stopping off here recently. I don’t think I made the best choice: pork and egg pie, the accompanying salad was overdressed for my liking - I would normally expect this to be served on the side. There is a good range of alternative dishes in this friendly and clean establishment. The car park off Broad Street is very convenient; walk to the top and 3At3 is at the top of the lane. Alternatively, walk through Three Cups Walk at the top of Fore Hill. It’s worth noting that all parking is free in a Ely though there are restrictions on length of parking, so check the signage.

We happened across this cafe we don't know Ely at all but came to see the cathedral. Anyway the lunch we had was really nice and the staff were lovely, very friendly. They also sell local beer and cider, an amazing selection. My only criticism would be that we bought a couple of beers to take home and did explain that one of them needed to be gluten free. We went on their advice but when we got home it wasn't in fact gluten free so my partner was a bit disappointed he couldn't drink it. All the more for me but really they should have advised us better. However, I still feel it is a nice place so please go!

Been here many times while living in Ely and always enjoyed my visits . They sell craft keg beer which I enjoy and I use to encourage other people to visit so they could grow the craft beer scene in Ely . Unfortunately I'm very honest and open person and I queried once why they stock to much lager on when they want to be recognised as a craft beer tap room . Well that was it the owner got rude sarcastic and scary on Facebook with me and deleted and blocked my honest open posts . So alas my memory's of this place are not so good , the staff are great and don't reflect my review . If you like English tea house serving high tea coffee cakes nitro coffee and beer your love this place. I've left Ely so maybe my opinion means nothing but I felt I needed to write this review to reflect a fair and open society. If people accept praise then they should be able to take the bad as well god I know I do.

This is a really cosy, friendly café with a spectacular range of bottled beers. We've not tried much of the food menu, but there's a good range -- from snacks to full on meals -- and the sausage rolls we had were great. Bear in mind there is limited indoor seating and when the sun shines the court yard is very popular. The service of beers and food was very prompt and the staff were very courteous and knowledgeable. 3 at 3 is a lovely little cafe that's just off the beaten track, down a footpath off Fore Hill. When I went to the place a few years ago the indoor seating was problematic. There were a few tables up a very narrow staircase and whilst it was cute it was not accessible and forced people with mobility issues to sit outside. I was delighted to see the problem has been resolved by changing the interior layout and there are now a few tables inside that are perfectly positioned for everyone.Having said all that, one of the nicest things about 3 at 3 is the lovely outdoor seating area. Being off the main shopping area, it's a great place to relax as there is no rush of pedestrians going passed and it's a quiet spot even on a very busy day. Even the wildlife seemed to be chilled out. A pair of birds were on the wall no more than a foot away from me and they simply carried on with what they were doing, with the occasional check to see if I had left them anything! The menu isn't extensive but there is more than enough to entice anyone. I was particularly pleased to see that dietary needs are met by having things like gluten free food as standard. When I enquired about these various options the staff were happy to assist, very polite and friendly. On this occasion we decided to just have a pot of tea and a cake each. Great tea and delicious cake for far less than I expected to pay. It was such good value I even asked to see if anything had been left off the bill. All in all, I'd definitely recommend 3 at 3 on the basis of that visit alone and I've not even mentioned the amazing collection of bottled beers and wines they have. I'm rather looking forward to the warmer weather; a chilled beer outside in the sun and the option to buy a few to take home for later. Roll on summer.

We were hoping for a similar experience this lunchtime, and both ordered sausage rolls. The food came out very quickly, but unfortunately both sausage rolls were soggy and greasy, having clearly just been microwaved. Have visited 3 At 3 many times, including during my time off on maternity leave as it seems to be one of the only cafes in Ely that isn't super busy during the week, probably because it isn't a chain cafe and is tucked away. The food menu isn't huge but it is varied and there are plenty of options to choose from including platters and also cake. There is a vast drinks menu including locally brewed beers and ciders which are also available to buy to take home.Only problem I would say is that there are no changing facilities for babies, the staff were very accommodating however and allowed myself and a fellow mum to change our babies in the empty flat above the cafe. On other occasions when it had been quiet we were able to quickly change wet nappies on the floor under the tables outside and no one minded, not sure the same could be said if they were smelly nappies! There is very limited indoor seating and it is mainly outdoor. Once ordered, we waited for nearly 30 minutes for drinks alone.Despite offering a children's menu, I wouldn't say this place is suitable for children. My daughters food was served last, despite it being a simple order. In fact, our food order was straight forward snack food. Our coffee was long empty by the time our food had arrived. This place is over priced and just not worth it. After eating something comparable (albeit far better quality) at Selfridges in London this week and paying far less for the privilege, I can only conclude that this tiny shop in Ely (which is really an off-licence with a couple of snack options) has no way of justifying such sky-high prices.

Abbiamo pranzato in questo posto il primo giorno che ci trovavamo a Ely. Abbiamo preso una zuppa molto molto buona. Locale pulito e personale cortese. Grandissima scelta di birre

Sit outside and sample their menu...our favourite is a cream tea! They even allow well behaved dogs in the garden.

This place is geat, whether you are wrapped in one of the blankets to keep warm or enjoying the sunshine! I've been a few times just for a drink and cake but the food that's come out looks great.

Nice food, nice setting. Reasonably priced. We were slighly plagued by wasps but the staff were making conscious efforts to 'control' them! Would definately visit again

My husband and I were in Ely for the day and we're looking for a snack but I have a Gluten Free diet....... we walked around and all that I was offered was a nasty wrapped sickly cake .......I was about to give up when down a little walkway we found 3at3 a cute place with a lovely garden ... I could have had a piece of homemade cake anything with G/F bread..... I had a delicious cheese and onion toasty but unfortunately couldn't fit in the lovely looking carrot cake they had as I was too full!! There was a super 'normal' menu some unusual soft drinks (ginger beer with chilli) and over 100 special beers!!! The ladies serving were lovely and chatty Pity I don't live nearer I would always be there!!!

We've not found that many places in Ely where we can sit out in the sunshine and enjoy a beer but 3 at 3 provides a good sized space with decent selection of grub and loads of brews.

Make no mistake, the food served in this hidden cafe in Ely is lovely, largely due to the high quality unique ingredients they use throughout the menu. This also extends to the drinks with a great selection of alcoholic and soft drinks you won't find elsewhere in Ely.On the down side I sometimes find the service a little slow, though I do prefer to come here when I am not in hurry, so I can enjoy my time in this great location in the shadow of The Cathedral. I do also find the prices a little steep so best to go for a treat date!Enjoy, I thoroughly recommend you give it a go.

Whilst in Ely for a meeting, we were looking for somewhere to have a light lunch and came across this lovely little find. It was the perfect day for sitting outside in the sunshine, there was a lovely atmosphere, Ely was particularly busy due to the Market, once sat outside in this quaint cafe you felt you were away from the hustle and bustle, a field backs onto the garden and to one side there is a Kitchen shop which isn't open yet and to the other-side there was a wall, so all very peaceful. All the food looked lovely, I had a cheese and onion quesadilla which came with a side salad and was delicious, it was served on a wooden board, which made the presentation so much nicer. They have a license to sell alcohol and they have an enormous range of bottled beers and ciders.

We are strangers to Ely and found a real gem in 3 at 3. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was both attentive and relaxed. We shared a Ploughman's Platter as we only wanted a light lunch. The bread was fresh and plentiful, fantastic Snowdonia Cheddar, lovely tasting tomatoes and pickles and a very thoughtfully provided 'doggy' bag to take the cheese home - we couldn't eat it all! A great range of beers and ciders as well. All the food we saw come out looked amazing. We will return. thank you for a relaxed lunch.

I almost don't want to write a review of this place, in case more people go there. This is one of the best little hidden gems I've ever been too.More beers and ciders than you can shake a such at. Simple lunches that go really well with the beers and ciders. Lovely seating outside, all adds up to something a but special.

This place has lots going for it and over the past year or so it has i believe gone from strength to strength. A wide range of local beers and ciders are on offer including Pickled Pig a local Stretham cider that knocks your socks off. The food is great, quesadilla i recommend as well as the various pies. I love this place when the sun is out, it is a great place to people watch and has fab views of the Cathedral. I often see friends when i call in here also dining of having a drink it has a real cosmopolitan feel but is undoubtedly English. Excellent totally recommend anyone trying this place when visiting Ely.

We visited at the end of day on a very busy bank holiday Monday but were still served two very good smoked salmon bagels. There is a very large selection of local crafted beers and the garden area is a nice sun trap.

This is a very good place to pick up bottles of local real ale, and they do fantastic coffee to boot. The menu is a bit limited, and my children are the pickiest eaters on the planet, so we just stopped for coffee and juice.

The food was lovely. It was nice to have locally produced food and drink. We sat outside and enjoyed our lunch in the sun. This place is a little hidden gem. The only downside was customers being allowed to smoke in the outside eating area.

Just off Ely's High Street this small cafe style building with an outdoor terrace is a Mecca for beer lovers, especially those who like local and regional beers. It is possible to have coffee and cakes, but most come to chose from the 120 beers available in the beer library. When one of the beers we wanted to try was not in stock, the waitress, without prompting, matched two other selections and brought them to us to choose from.Service was excellent, informative and helpful staff. Not pricey - slight off the beaten track but worth seeking out on 3 Cups Lane.A bit of a find!

We visited based on what others had said On TA. We arrived around 2pm so the place wasn't busy. I had a bottle of coffee stout & L had apple juice ( she's on antibiotics from a serious dog bite but that's a story in itself). We shared a pie platter with home-made relish, Scotch egg etc that did the job perfectly. The beer was great & the proprietress attentive as was her assistant. Would certainly return. It was very a very cold January afternoon so sat indoors but there's seating outside with heaters - blankets can be supplied!

Always been a massive fan of this place and especially in the cold under the heaters on fireworks night. I hired the lovely rustic beamed room upstairs for a surprise birthday party for 15 people and it was simply perfect! Penny created a superb bespoke menu for the group including homemade soup, HUGE sharing platters and the 5 litre beer kegs were fantastic. The staff and organisation rivalled anywhere I have been, where you would no doubt pay twice the price without that personal & friendly service. If your visiting Ely its a real MUST and if your a local then you should be a regular visitor. Looking forward to a local ale on the terrace again very soon!

Interesting mix of deli, bar, cafe. Staff were great. Sitting outside at the end of November with outdoor heaters and blankets provided was brilliant. But the high point? an incredible selection of local bottled ales, all we had were bottle conditioned. Staff new what they were talking about and knew how to serve them. Some in our party also tried the coffee and mulled wine. It was all great. Can't recommend this place too highly!

Excellent food and service from start to finish. This is very local to us, but still always a treat to go and enjoy. Regular specials in the menu and the coupon that own and run the restaurant are fabulous. Ingredients and standard of cooking is outstanding.

We normally look forward to our Chrstimas meal at the Three Blackbirds, but this was disappinting this year. In future we would either choose to go for a mid-week meal or eat much later on a Sunday. We appreciate that being extremely busy is good for business, it does not always translate into a 5 star dining experience for everyone.
