The best restaurants in East of England

Just had another fantastic meal at Neil’s, the food selection is very good with either a mid week specials menu or the choice from the full menu. All food is made and cooked to order and Neil is happy to adjust to suit your tastes. Nice wine selection and a great range of cocktails, If you have not tried this place yet then you are certainly missing out.

This 'restaurant' seems to be stuck in the 1960's with its decor, lighting, tables etc. Our table was somewhat 'tacky' to the touch and felt like it has had a long and hardworking life. The whole place could do with a good redecoration to freshen it up and new furniture to bring it back into the current era. The food was OK, but nothing special. Prawns Spanish style, and the cold plate of mixed fish for starters were 'uneventful' and lacked any wow factor. Main courses were equally average. The lighting is poor and doesn't give a comfy atmosphere to the place at all. We were so disappointed, and even more so when the experience cost up £100, for the food and two small glasses of wine. We certainly cannot recommend this restaurant and would suggest you spend your hard earned £100 elsewhere.

We booked here as a birthday meal. Having decided to try somewhere different for us , this was very much a random choice. Which turned out very well as this is a most delightful restaurant. With a relaxing ,gentle atmosphere but not too quiet (we ate early so it hadn't got too busy) , the gentleman looking after us was friendly and very helpful with our questions on the menu. The food was served quickly, hot and fresh made, and if Potuguese food is your thing , will not disappoint. Thoroughly recommended, we'll be returning.

My number 1 pizza place really nice atmposphere inside great for eating in, takeaway and delivery really love this place. When collecting or delivery find it's best popping the pizza in the oven for a little warm up but that's standard. I don't think any other pizza place beats pizza guy's. And their deals. The desserts are delicious too. Definitely highly recommend. Love the fish tank and music in the restaurant.

I haven’t enjoyed kebab for many many years, I find most kebab places in the uk to extremely greasy and flavourless. I experienced a high quality kebab place for the first time near London and it was delicious. I would say that this kebab shop is as good or even better than the food I got in London. I would highly recommend. The only place in clacton you’ll get Donna meat that actually has any flavour. And the price is very reasonable. I had it delivered to my house but I feel for the best experience straight of the charcoal grill would be the way to go!

It's a good place to find oddities or random stuff! Have bought quite a lot from here and visiting regularly. A few stalls are more on the expensive side but as a rule its pretty good! A real mix of stuff from clothes to antiques or railway and automotive stuff! If you want to loose an hour on lots of floors pay them a visit

Had a fantastic lunch as always with my mum pat and her team were very accommodating. Fantastic home cooked fresh food the pies are to die for 💯 recommend this beautiful country pub open fires aswell which is a bonus.

Lovely Sunday roast in a countryside pub. Very generous portions. All homemade (including the Yorkshire puddings). Possibly the best roast potatoes I’ve had at a pub. No joke. The desert was great too!

The food was amazing , everything was cooked beautifully and the staff were very attentive and informative . Amazing value for a set 2 or 3 course with just the right size menu to choose from . You know if a menu is too vast it’s not doable for the chef to be all his own work . Thank you everyone . We had a lovely evening
