I had the roast beef and smoked haddock rarebit starter it was very nice. Very friendly staff and posh ambience. It really was one of the best roast dinners. I’ve had in such a long time. Although the price was more expensive than other venues, it was absolutely delicious and I will return here in an instant.Ll

Evening Meal in this local Italian based restaurant. The food was absolutely fabulous. The calamari perfectly cooked and all the food beautifully presented and delicious.

Went to the Rose and Crown for the first time in 6 months, stopped going due to poor bar staff and customer service, nothing has changed. Since Rosie left customer service has dropped off, the current bar manager is more interested in talking to other bar staff than serving customers. Under the previous bar manager staff were on the ball and attentive, now customers are more of an inconvenience than paying customers, bat staff no longer wear uniforms and look scruffy.

Really disappointed, expected a much better quality of food for the price. Especially after reading the glowing reviews. Everything tasted as if cooked from frozen and chips were like supermarket oven chips. Rice was dry and undercooked. Tzatziki and Chili Sauce were poor. Staff were very friendly but would not return or recommend.

This is a beautiful boutique cake shop in Old Welwyn, with the most delicious cupcakes, cakes, sandwiches and afternoon teas. It's run by an absolutely lovely local lady who makes the most amazing bakes! The shop is really pretty and quaint, with beautiful crockery and a lovely friendly vibe in the centre of Old Welwyn. The shop has a fantastic range of cakes and treats, including options for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free, which is brilliant. I often admire their celebration, birthday and wedding cakes online as well - they look amazing (maybe I need to get married again ;) ) Will definitely be back!

Just superb! Friendly staff and nice atmosphere waiting in line. The fish and chips were outstanding. Fish - generous, tasty with a beautiful crispy batter! The chips - again, generous and quite simply the perfect chip-shop chips!

Only had home delivery. Food always excellent, would highly recommend!!

Took a reservation for tonight (my birthday), turnt up to the whole restaurant closed and no one answering the phone. Won’t be returning.

Sadly this was a very poor experience. The pub is extremely cluttered and feels very dated. The accommodation is more like workers accommodation with prices of a nice pub. I the room was cold and cluttered and warned out.

Came here with my mum for a special Birthday meal. The staff were absolutely fabulous - friendly, attentive, caring and knowledgable. They made my Mum feel special, which was lovely. We are from the lunch menu which was divine. Already booked to return in December. Thank you to all.

Food was good in pleasant surroundings. Service had been good but took a downturn when we asked for another piece of toast only to be told no as kitchen was shut now for breakfast! It was just after 11am and find it hard to believe none able to put a slice of bread in a toaster!

lovely meal for the 2 of us as managed to get a table on christmas eve. Venison and whole of meal full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Good size portions. Lovely evening in a old beamy cosy pub.

We enjoyed our afternoon tea here. The food was very good, particularly the scones but also the sandwiches and some of the sweets too. There is a good range of teas and you can choose several different kinds during the course of the experience. The service was excellent from everyone who helped us, not least Tara. Recommended for quality, service and value.

We stopped here after a walk with our 2 young children. The food was delicious, the beers were great and the owner was very kind to our children. We’re looking forward to coming back and trying more food from the French inspired menu!
