The best restaurants in Uttlesford East of England

Visited here a few times for dinners out, amazing service and food each and every time, quite a high end pricing however is absolutely worth it for what your given. Would absolutely recommend the pork gyozas, my favourite thing on the menu. Definitely worth a visit if your around and enjoy Japanese food.

Lovely and cozy cafe offering delicious salads, amazing sandwiches and freshly baked sweets. The service was excellent and staff are very welcoming.

Excellent pub with a lovely beer garden. Perfect pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord cask pale ale.

Turkish run Fish shop - great food and some side lines too. Friendly staff. I only wish they could serve some more Turkish food too.

We went here for a family meal. The food was delicious. Everyone really enjoyed their food. I had the hake which I highly recommend. The seasoning on the hake was lovely and the potatoes were gorgeous! My partner had the butterfly chicken and I tried a bit of this and it was lovely too. My children had the magherita pizzas and they were yummy and it was devoured by them! Great service even though it was busy in the pub. Nice atmosphere in the pub, very homely and comfortable. The price was very reasonable for the high standard of food. Would definitely come back and would recommend to others.

We stopped overnight at Novotel, Stansted, 27 April, before our flight to Krakow the following day. The food and service was excellent. A big shout out to our waiter, Matt (a fan of dancing)! Thanks for all your help.

Good price and food. Could be a bit more of the salt added but it’s something easy to add. Cheese bites amazing.

One of the best pubs in the area. A friendly welcome, superb beer (including Adnams bitter) and an excellent food van at the end of the week. Friday night's superb van food was from Buffalo Joe's. And in warmer weather, sitting outside on the broad green is a joy. It's like pubs used to be - highly recommended!

Lunch was underwhelming. Despite only a few diners, service was slow. My £21 courgette tian looked good but lacked flavour, and other dishes were similarly disappointing. My mum’s scallops were gritty and not properly cleaned—she’s had stomach issues since. Plates weren’t warmed, which didn’t help. Overall, the food and service didn’t live up to the setting or the high prices. Also, no hand soap in the toilets—concerning for hygiene. We won't be returning.

Top notch Thai food with so much flavour and great presentation. Also offer a great range of pizzas which are fantastic too. The atmosphere in the pub is always great with really friendly, competent staff and landlord who always make you feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. Great place to take your friends and family and also dog friendly too!

Had the taster menu at lunchtime. Such a lovely variety of excellently prepared food imaginatively presented. A perfect place for an occasion
