Lovely village setting, had it been open Monday and Tuesday we would have probably been in three day's in a row?

Lovely traditional pub. We enjoyed a quick refreshing pint after an afternoon walk

We had an excellent meal yesterday.Beautifully presented and delicious. The plat du jour of scampi whitebait etc was exceedingly generous. Way above the normal run of pub food. Thank you.

Good variety of well kept beers and superb food combined with a friendly atmosphere.

I haven't tried the food yet so I can't comment. Liz is very welcoming & very friendly, as are the locals.

Absolutely superb roast (possibly the best I’ve had in London to date?) the pork was cooked to absolute perfection. The Bloody Mary was also one of the best I’ve had in a while. Was also impressed by the well poured Guinness.

Visited here with a large group on New Years Eve whilst staying in a local air BnB. Fantastic service, and real hearty home cooked food. The deserts were lovely, and very generous portion sizes. Definitely recommend!

You can be assured you will be welcomed by warm and kind hosts here. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is exceptional. Jam nights each month are an absolute pleasure to go to and fill me with joy for the coming week.Thanks again

The was a fantastic find for us on way to a funeral, and this place cheered us up!!!! Staff were great, venue was so nice and the food, well speaks for itself but I’ll say it anyway, fantastic!!!

This is such a lovely pub. So welcoming, friendly staff and a great selection of cask ales. They sell local eggs and honey at the bar. The food is also superb.

Absolutely brilliant. The manager made us very welcome. The food was the best pub grub I’ve had in ages and fine selection of ales. Forget Birchanger Services. Take 20 mins extra and go here instead 😀

Just wow! Everything from start finish was amazing. My fish and chips was cooked to perfection, and the size of it! Chris was more than happy to cater for certain dietary requirements. All the food was incredible, the lady who served us all evening was amazing, and nothing was to much trouble. We enjoyed the garden while the sun was still out, perfect for everyone to enjoy, whether it is for a drink or food. We did wat inside though. Love the decor and the place itself. Will definitely be returning. Very reasonable prices too. Thanks for a lovely evening.

2nd meal here & we weren't disappointed again. Lovely homemade burger & chips & a delicious steak. Large portions too.

Had been told ,was a good place to eat .looked at the menu thought it looked a bit basic and vegetarian. We had 6 different meals. . What a great find . 6 empty plates, 7 satisfied people. Top chef ,excellent staff. Thanks for a lovely meal . Thanks for the candle. Will be back.

Beautiful traditional pub, with smashing food. One of the staff even managed to do a handstand! absolutely bonkers night.

Came for a Sunday Roast, wow! Lovely food, generous portions plus an expansive wine list and well kept local ales.

First time there, excellent staff, food and beer

Chris and Liz are fantastic and know exactly how to bring together the community! They’re so passionate about providing top restaurant service and local produce for delicious meals. I’m a very difficult eater with medical conditions leaving me gluten and dairy free, we popped in and the meals didn’t even need adjusting to make them suitable. It’s the first time I’ve eaten out and had a GF DF meal which was full of FLAVOUR & COLOUR! Oh wow I was lucky to have such an amazing meal. The atmosphere from staff makes it cosy village pub, I advise you to drive by a pop in ASAP. Thank you Chris, Liz and the friendly team at the Plough- can’t wait to visit again soon!

The food was as good as it could possibly be, first class. The attention to covid safety was second to none.

Food wise one of the best pubs in the area, Chris is an excellent chef and Liz and the other bar staff are always friendly and welcoming. I notice some people have moaned about needing to reserve tables, but they do only have limited space being in a small pub so it is just common sense to book ahead! Also top marks for the takeaway service during the lockdown, food was still great and nice to see you still going in a difficult time

A warm and friendly welcome. The best steak and ale pie I've ever had and the bread and butter pudding was as light as air. A great night and we will definitely be back. Thank you

Service was very friendly but they had no kids menu and nothing basic on the menu it was like looking at a fancy restaurant in a tiny run down pub it just didn't feel right and the prices were a bit high for what they offered in my opinion

Excellent varied menu featuring tasty, home cooked food at reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and the outdoor seating area is great in the Summer. The building itself is old and historic and has a lovely feel to it. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic pub for Sunday lunch. The quality of the food, the size of the portions and the quality are all exemplary. The staff are also charming and incredibly helpful. Finally, being a free house, there are some excellent local beers available.

Visited at 7.10 on a January, Saturday evening as a party of three. The tables set for dining were all marked as reserved, but we found a table in the bar area, bought some drinks and sat down. Shortly afterwards I went to the bar and asked for a menu. We were then told that they couldn't serve us food as they were fully booked. Despite us having a small table in the bar area that we could easily eat at. In addition the place was incredibly quiet at that time, not one of the food tables was occupied, so the kitchen cannot have been too busy to prepare some simple meals. Shocking treatment of customers. If you are foolish enough to consider eating here, book ahead, thought personally, pigs will fly before I return.
