This was our third trip on the Lady Florence. This time for breakfast. The food is prepared and cooked on board whilst we motor along the river. The dining room is comact - if there are 12 people on board, then it does get a little 'cosy'. However, on this occassion we chartered the boat for just the four of us, so it was very roomy. There is a wood burning stove on board that keeps the dining room very warm. Breakfast was rounded off with homemade apple pie and muffins!

Visited Orford on a day trip as seemed to be a popular spot with nice decor. Ordered two sandwiches one a bagette type a one on normal bread. Both sandwiches were not wrapped fully so we assumed were freshly made. We also ordered a sausage roll and two teas. This came to around 25 pounds which I thought was expensive for what we got. The sandwiches were both lacking in filling and both on stale bread making them almost inedible. The tea was fine and the sausage roll although extortionate at 5 pounds fifty was pleasant. I would recommend you stick to the cakes and pastries and expect to pay through the nose. The butcher down the alleyway across the road does a better sandwich on bloomer bread for 2 pounds fifty if you are price conscious like us. Service was very average and insincere from the young staff.

Everything is very good about this venue…but for the third time in as many years it was freezing inside….no fires lit and although we sat next to a radiator it was not even warm….myself and other customers ate our meals with our coats on…. I suggest you only eat there in the summer!

The best feature of the tearoom is its position looking out over the boats and harbour. It has a nice decked area for outside seating but inside the decor is simple ( nothing special, but I guess it’s in keeping with the old fishing huts). The service was friendly, the drinks good and there was an excellent selection of delicious cakes which were reasonably priced. The breakfast and lunch menu looked good too.

Over-priced food - an unbelievable £4.75 for a stodgy, tasteless cheese scone with one pat of hard, cold butter. Only managed to eat half of it, really unpleasant, threw the rest away. The cakes were not covered and crawling with flies. Sandwiches even more over-priced at £8.25 for a small cheese sandwich with white bread. This cafe used to be so much better. Will drive past in future and not stop here.

Been meaning to go here for a long time and so glad we finally made it! It’s a delightful restaurant with super friendly staff. As for the food… well it was great and this place deserves its reputation. The prices we felt were reasonable, remember fresh fish and seafood isn’t a factory farmed commodity!! We can’t wait to go back soon… my only recommendation is book first, we walked in and were lucky!! Glad we did..!! Enjoy…

My parents have been here multiple times and recommended it as a great place for my 30th birthday meal! The food is incredible! Firstly, the menu is so varied and I wanted SO many things on there, it was hard to choose. I settled for the starter of Beef Croquettes with Wasabi Mayo and my main was beef rendang with rice. Both were delicious and full of flavour. I also tried the Bang Bang Cauliflower which was SO tasty! The highlight of the meal was the apple crumble though .. beautifully sweet and sugary. It is expensive here but so worth it for the quality! Thank you for making my birthday so special!

We were upstairs in the "expensive" riverview restaurant for a pre-booked pre-concert dinner. Two courses £35, 3 courses £45. Beautful views across the river and reed-beds at sunset. Arriving at the designated time it took 20 minutes before our order was taken. After the first course we were getting concerned that as the concert began at 7pm, we would run out of time. We didn't, but it was a close thing. We ordered a glass of white wine each, but the wine was only just below room temperature and should have been much colder to be enjoyable. Our starters were just about OK, although my Beef Bresaola was somewhat substandard - the beef was fine but the rest of the stated ingredients were pretty much tasteless. My wife's main was the Confit Duck leg that she has described to me as being unexciting - there was a sauce and supposed to be blackberry jus (or something similar) that she was unable to identify and the potato was just a large shaped chunk of potato, possibly roasted! My main (Confit Pork Belly) was "interesting" - the crackling was rock hard - I couldn't cut it with my knife and when I tried to bite into it, I still couldn't break it, so I abandoned that. When I mentioned this to the server, I was told that it would be reported to the kitchen - maybe it was, but no-one apologised or responded in any way to my complaint. In addition the accompanying "sauce" was like a green porridge in consistency and was barely lukewarm - overall what should have been the most interesting dish proved to be the most disappointing one. Our desserts were reasonably good, but not worth the extra £10 for the 3rd course. So, I would not recommend the restaurant and felt that it was very much over-priced and understaffed, as the service was friendly but incredibly slow. Total cost for the two of us £120, including 12.5% "gratuity". As fairly frequent visitors to the Concert Hall , we will not be returning this restaurant.
