Crown and Castle – Trinity Restaurant in Suffolk Coastal

Had a lovely afternoon tea, which was beautifully presented. Nice to have the option to have it at lunchtime as ‘lunch’ although we still didn’t manage it all! Took the rest home for later - also lovely to be able to bring our dog too!

Excellent Sunday Roast lunch, beef, pork and chicken options. Attentive service, reasonably priced. Will visit again when in area.

Superb anniversary meal. Would recommend for a special occasion, the food was delicious and the service excellent but without being over the top and stuffy. Not the cheapest, but certainly value for money for the quality of food. The butternut squash and chestnut risotto was delicious as was the chicken liver parfait.

25 minutes from Ipswich and you enter a very relaxed easy and friendly environment. The menu and food was a notch up on our visit earlier this year although the food was noticeably more expensive. Looking forward to our next visit.

Just returned from a stay at The Crown and Castle Orford. We had a lovely stay with delicious diner on the Saturday night and superb breakfast on the Sunday morning. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a weekend away on the east coast to visit The C& C. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful and delicious supper at the end of a busy day. Excellent crab with potatoes and salad!

We have eaten at the Crown and Castle several times over the years and it has always been good. Most recently - July 2024 - it was outstanding. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was really excellent. Such a welcoming place to eat in beautiful Orford.

At the age of 62 I have eaten my fair share of dinners in extremely nice restaurants all around the world, so when I write that this was the best restaurant meal I have ever eaten, it is with a very large sample! My starter was the cauliflower and then the venison main course (the chocolate in the sauce made it delicious ) and the chocolate dessert had ginger in it and was fabulous. In addition the servicing staff were extremely friendly and professional and are a credit to you all.

Overall very enjoyable experience. Food and service of a high standard. Room and facilities very tidy.

Delicious twists on classic dishes. Such flavours - that Beef Tartare was amazing, and the Red Cabbage!!!! Just a shame no oysters due to severe effects of recent weather. Local produce throughout the menu

From start to finish the food was perfect, have to say the venison is definitely one to try! Was a lovely enjoyable evening but I have to say the service really let it down for us, greeted and sat with drinks and menus to order before getting seated at the table absolutely fine. But once we were seated we were literally forgotten about, the food came out and placed in front of us without a word. Once starters were cleared we did unfortunately wait a further 45minutes for our main, not sure why this happened but no one came over to either explain or apologise. Mains arrived no apology no offer of another drink nothing. We decided the stay for dessert so mains all cleared and dessert ordered, these came out promptly and were just as good as the rest of the food. At this point we would have loved another couple of drinks or maybe a coffee, but desserts were cleared and nothing was offered yet again, so we decided for the bill and had coffee at home. All in all the food was superb and the restaurant atmosphere is lovely. But we felt forgotten about by staff all evening. Never been for a 3 course meal and only had the one drink we ordered when we came in. I do feel there is room for improvement.

A lovely weekend to celebrate my wife’s birthday with family members. The staff could not have been more helpful. The food was excellent and service very good. We stayed in a garden room as we had our dog with us. Perfectly comfortable and everything worked.
