The best restaurants in Aldeburgh Suffolk Coastal East of England

A treat to visit this wonderful establishment with my son.

First time here this Saturday morning, called for breakfast. Both inside and outside seating at this dog friendly eatery was excellent. Rather a queue for meals (the second counter is a good idea just for drinks and snacks) where table service may have been more efficient. Coffee and cappuccino excellent. The English breakfast was lovely, the only let down was the hash browns, and the egg, whilst decent, could have been better. Seated inside the reception for EE was non existent, no WiFi available, not an issue, but might be for some. All the staff that we met with were lovely.

Great food very good service . Beer real ale a great pint . Food was very good high end chief. Definitely recommended .

Popped in for a quick drink whilst visiting Aldeburgh. Friendly staff behind bar, great atmosphere and welcoming environment Would love to book a room and stay here in the future

Ate here Monday night, haddock and chips to a good standard, decently priced too. oddly they serve it in a bag, then wrap the bag in paper? Not seen that before!

Food was really tasty, everything arrived quick and it was warm as well. We had such a nice time, the kids really enjoyed their food as well which is a big word since they are picky. The staff was super helpful, they helped to choose from the menu. Mesi was lovely and extremely professional. We had a lovely time, definitely will be back soon!

Bit of a queue but worth the wait for perfect fish & chips.

The lunch menu offered Trout as a main so I ordered it, when it came it was only a very small fillet not even enough for a starter, also to much salad I was very disappointed 😥 when the menu says trout one expects to get a whole fish. The grand children who were with us had children's portions which were far bigger than mine, my meal was an over priced disgrace.

Just found out that the Rising Sun in Aldeburgh has closed down. What a terrible shame. The best chinese takeaway around. My husband isn't keen on chinese but has always enjoyed their food. It's ashame that they didn't have the space to convert to a restaurant as they would have made a killing. It's been reported that it's for financial and personal reasons. I know we are still in the grip of a cost of living crisis but we would have been prepared to pay higher cost for their great food. Goodbye Rising Sun you will be sorely missed

This review is about Marriott Fisheries not honouring a delivery. . One star is far too generous. On Wednesday 14 February I emailed Marriott Fisheries Aldeburgh to ask if they could supply shellfish for 10 people for Saturday 17 February. A birthday party surprise. Received emails in reply from Oliver Marriott who I conversed with over couple of days. No problem he said, we deliver to Dunwich . My brother Luke will deliver on Saturday between 4 & 5pm, he’ll call you when he gets there. We could pay Luke when he arrived as they have a mobile card reader. Sure enough at 4:10pm on Saturday I received a phone call from Luke but instead of delivering the order, he said his van had broken down in Southwold. No problem I said I can come and pick the order up. I’ll call you back he said after I’ve spoken to someone. He rang back and as we’d already guessed fobbed me off with apologies. They obviously hadn’t even prepared my order (obvious from the start) and let me down literally at the last minute. Use Marriott Fishers at your peril, as they are unprofessional and unreliable. Go to The Aldeburgh Market fish shop instead. Fantastic service. We phoned them around 5pm and explained we’d been let down by Marriott Fisheries and they supplied everything we had originally ordered and at a lower price too. Shellfish, service and professionalism was fantastic from The Aldeburgh Market.
