Great meal for our family of 6 fast and friendly service. Not the cheapest but we'll worth the extra

Inpromptu meal on an overnight stay and was blown away by the food and excellent service, great work guys!!

What an amazing restaurant. I had the dressed crab with potato salad & a green salad. My husband had the soft shell crab to start & followed by the skate wing with crayfish. All delicious. Desserts were also very good. The peanut butter special ws exquisite & light with complimentry flavours. Staff very friendly & a lovely ambience in the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit in Aldeburgh

I got it into my head that I wanted great fish and chips and at the seaside. Entered Regatta by chance. Quiet, but warm and friendly service…and the fish and chips! Wonderful. Just the job. Lovely interior, interesting menu.

We were a party of 4 for lunch.3 x half Regatta Pale Ale [10.50] and an Appetiser [3.00]. I asked if I could have a mock cocktail but this wasn't available. However, the waitress said the normal cocktails were already made up, which I found rather odd! We shared 2 x spiced hummus with homemade pitta bread [10.00]. 2 Seabass on the bone [48.00] was OK but pretty dry, lacking flavour and awkward to eat because of the bones. We should have asked them to fillet the fish. 3 tiny potatoes and a few sprigs of samphire but no other vegetables. Our friends chose 2 Fish and Chips [35.00] which looked delicious. 3 Cappuccinos £9.75]. Total bill £116.25 + service charge. Restaurant was fairly quiet for Sunday lunch and the restaurant lacked atmosphere. I was on crutches and it was difficult to navigate the very high step into the restaurant. Not sure if there is wheelchair access.

My husband was hoping to get some good seafood being on a seaside holiday and the choice of Regatta restaurant didn't disappoint. He had a delicious piece of cod which was cooked to perfection. I choose to have 2 starters instead of a main. Both delicious followed by a sticky toffee pudding to share. 10/10 and the big draw for us was that Regatta is dog friendly. Everyone on the staff were kind and welcoming. Our food arrived speedily and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. When we return to Aldeburgh then Regatta will be getting a return visit.

First visit and we were attracted in by special dish. Lovely warm welcome and friendly staff. It was a cold day and the restaurant was quiet. So we would go again. I didn't like the 'trough' type urinal in the gents toilet which should be changed as it more suits a pub!

Loved this restaurant, great atmosphere and fine seafood. Not our first visit here and it's definitely a place we'll return to.

Very disaponted today lunchtime My husband had lamb pot not cooked very well & I had cod with piella and it was very salty we have been penny times and loved it but won't be back shame

I love this restaurant! The menu is varied and interesting but the best stuff is on the specials board, for fish options that change frequently. Over several visits I've had bass, bream, skate - all beautifully cooked with well-judged sides like shrimp butter, samphire and other greens. Vegetarian options are also good. And make sure to have the home-made chocolates if you're having a coffee, they are looooovely.

Great food and service for our Sunday lunch. Divine sticky toffee pudding. Will definitely be back.

Been visiting this restaurant for many years and loved it. Not been since COVID until yesterday. We had a truly wonderful meal, food perfect, staff perfect and surroundings perfect. What more could you want. So good we are going back next week.

Superb food and great service! Made great choice of the yummy pesto crusted halibut on a creamy butter bean, mushroom and crayfish fricassee. Followed by a a black forest cheesecake!

Quality of food high with plenty of specials. Fish platter was excellent. As were all the fish dishes. Some of our group do not eat fish. Perhaps being unfair as fish restaurant but catering for vegetarian and vegan choices means our group would eat here more often because their choices very limited. Traditional style fixtures and fittings could be upgraded. Invested in.

We had the whole place to ourselves! The staff were lovely and allowed us to use the Alexa to play Christmas jingles, although I wouldn't expect that if you come at a busier time. Tagine was pretty nice but a little samey, could do with a couple chillis to keep you on your toes. Overall lovely people and I'd love to come back

Well, the Tripadvisor reviews certainly got this one right! We (three adults and two children) called in to Regatta Restaurant for lunch and, although we didn’t have a reservation, it was midweek and not overly busy so we managed to get a table. We had a wonderful meal with brilliant service from Alex who was so pleasant, smiley and incredibly patient. We ordered three starters, tiger prawns for me, which I’d describe as a deconstructed prawn cocktail, duck bon bons for my daughter and son-in-law to share and a child’s cheesy garlic bread. I’m not a big fan of duck but the bon bons looked delicious and, by all accounts, they were, as were my tiger prawns. For mains, my daughter and I both had dressed crab (I can never resist crab) with salad whilst my son-in-law was extremely adventurous with fish and chips! We all enjoyed our food and I can honestly say that the crab was perfect. There is a very good, and reasonably priced, children’s menu; one of the children had mini fish ‘n’ chips whilst the other one had homemade chicken nuggets and chips and, again, they were very good quality. Whenever I see chicken nuggets on a menu, I think of the sort of McDonalds rubbish that is devoid of any nutritional value but these were proper chicken and far superior! A mini chocolate brownie for one of the children plus a couple of drinks (non-alcoholic variety) completed the meal. The courses were well paced and we never felt rushed, despite the children being a bit crabby at times! Service was perfect (thank you Alex) and, at £105.25, it was excellent value too.

Walked in here on a whim because they took dogs and we didn't want a pub lunch. Really friendly service and great food. Prices much more reasonable than fish restaurants anywhere in London! Felt like a treat still though.

Decided on a day in Aldeburgh, just 1hr30min away from home. Booked the Regatta for lunch as we had not eaten there before - but we certainly will again! We shared the Duck Bon Bons - , such a different way to have a duck starter. and delicious. My husband had Halibut with a delicious sauce, I had the Fish Platter with a side of Rockette and parmesan. They were both excellent. The dessert was also different and very good , a fruit panna cotta with figs. The service was efficient and very friendly. No loud music - so all in all a very enjoyable experience. Shame it`s not nearer to us! However a good reason to go back to Aldeburgh

We enjoyed a meal here whilst staying in Aldeburgh for a couple of nights. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. We would certainly visit again if back in the area. Highly Recommended - especially if you like fresh fish and seafood cooked imaginatively!

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic lunch. The octopus starter although a relatively small portion was excellent. Such tender octopus. The menu looked good, but the specials board was something else. My skate was superb. My wife’s seared tuna on a bed of spinach, prawns and risotto in a black ink sauce was everything she wanted in a plate of food. Lovely interior as was the staff. Not the cheapest of places but you pay for what you get and this was excellent quality. If in the area again, we will return.

a bit of a spontaneous visit, but the staff welcomed us in with no fuss. Had the basic but delicious beer battered fish. Alas left me too full for dessert, but I did see coffees came with good looking chocolates so maybe next time! The all important loos were also clean, maintained and easy to find.

Dinner on our last night in Aldeburgh did not disappoint. Fabulous oysters, lovely skate wings, great desserts, good wine, fine champagne by the glass and an excellent selection of dessert wines, ports, and even my favourite Armagnac. Great ambience and wonderful staff and service.

We were staying near Saxmundham and googled fish restaurants in Aldeburgh as we were going there for the day. We popped into the Regatta and asked about gluten-free and were told not a problem. We had a wonderful meal, the seafood platter and the fish & chips were superb, I had a pint of the Regatta Pale Ale, and we ended up having the creme cotta dessert which was also gluten-free. Cost was very reasonable and we will certainly eat here again.

We were originally going to Prezzo across the road but walked out after a poor reservation booking. Went to Regatta and asked for a table with no booking. We’re fitted in on a timer restriction which was fine. Food was very good and service was excellent too. What started off as a bit of disastrous evening ended very well thanks to Regatta. Very well done.

This is a fantastic fish restaurant but not restricted to fish. Wonderful ambiance, very attentive and knowledgeable staff and the food is fabulous. Cannot recommend enough.

We walked in and got a late table and were welcomed. The food was quick to arrive and looked lovely, it tasted delicious. Its been a while since I came to eat at The Regatta but I will definitely be back. Thankyou.

What a lovely restaurant. The service and food was exceptional. The Regatta is mainly a fish restaurant but there is plenty of choice for non-fish eaters. My partner thoroughly enjoyed her hake in a wild mushroom sauce with crayfish and my lamb shoulder with couscous was perfect. As for the deserts, all house-made, were fabulous. Raspberry cheesecake with sorbet was a my dessert of the year so far.

We had a very nice meal the fish (turbot) looked and tasted great busy restaurant but service was attentive good selection of wines.

My wife and I ate at The Regatta on Saturday 26 August and had a great evening. The food was outstanding. My wife had tiger prawn cocktail followed by Turbot and crème brûlée, I had the smoked salmon, Gressingham duck and raspberry cheesecake. All were excellent. Would strongly recommend but you will need to book in advance

Really delicious fish so well cooked. I couldn't resist the crab souffle starter and it was beautiful. A whole huge place with crayfish and seafood butter was one of the best I've ever had. I've no doubt everything was of this high standard. And not overpriced we felt.

Very busy in the holiday period so do book well ahead as it is worth it ! Wonderful selection of fish. Our party tried skate wing which was large and left the bone perfectly, scallops with crayfish and artichoke risotto was rich with tender sweet scallops, our non fish eaters had pink duck and tasty chicken both very well received. The puddings were delicious. Would love to return on next visit.

We had lunch here during carnival. A very nice meal. The food was absolutely delicious. We had 2 tired children with us and the food came out very quickly which was great. They also offer a good kids menu too. The sea bass was excellent, as was the salt & pepper squid.

We needed an early evening table as we were going to the theatre in aldeburgh. The regatta was a good choice - service was efficient, nice surroundings, friendly staff with a menu offering a good range of choices. We particularly liked the complimentary bread which was served with our order - that’s a welcome touch which is rare nowadays. We’d recommend booking ahead as we saw several walk ups being turned away - especially in the peak holiday season.

We booked quite late but brilliant place. Specials board and main menu available. Alot of options to be made gluten free. We had Starter We all had garlic prawn cocktail Mains Dressed Cromer Crab, very fresh Seabass fillet with samphire Seafood platter Puddings Strawberry pavlova White chocolate and passion fruit creme brulee Affogarto Food was delicious and fresh. Staff were really good and helpful.

Absolute gem of a restaurant. They clearly take great care over selection of ingredients and presentation. Food, service, atmosphere and cleanliness all top notch. And they let the dog in!

Bit disappointed with our visit this weekend in Aldeburgh. Tuna steak didn’t taste particularly fresh and had a mushy texture. A family member had the sea bass though and said that was great so we must’ve just made the wrong menu choice. Puddings were lovely. Being dog friendly was appreciated though the area of the restaurant you were put in wasn’t as nice as the main area.

We came here because we couldn't get into the restaurant we wanted. With no expectation before coming, the food was very nice and beautifully cooked. The staff were a little off-ish which is a shame.

VERY EXPENSIVE place for tiny portions! I went there the other day for lunch, I've had a olives and houmous started and it was a TINY child portion of completely bland houmous which didn't have any lemon in it, half of pita bread, few canned olives and mushed canned olives, it was so OVERPRICED for what u get. For main I have lamb shoulder with couscous, bit of spinach and aubergine and yet again portion for that £21.50 was absolutely TINY. I normally struggle to finish my meals but I have finished this one so I can tell you that portions are TINYYYYYYYY. PS staff was absolutely confused keep forgetting either half of your course or cutlery, and old lady with glasses just looked so angry it literally ruins whole atmosphere and you feel awkward being there, as if you're disturbing her or something. That not how you want new customers to feel like. I WONT BE BACK

Lovely food, as always, pretty quiet, considering we came in for lunch, if you want a main course don't expect it to be cheap £19-24 a dish but very tasty especially the fish that tasted very fresh. Had the delicious panacotta for pudding and would definitely recommend it.

We had dinner here and were greeted well and offered a choice of tables. There is a nice menu and several specials are offered. The hummus and pitta starter was nice with a hint of spice and the complimentary bread, butters and olive oil with balsamic was good quality. The fish with new potatoes and chorizo ratatouille special was well executed and satisfying. The vegetarian choice of breaded halloumi was substantial, but the accompliment of rocket and a bed of tomato salsa could have been more embellished. There was a lot of halloumi but not much going on with the rest of the dish. Also, it would be nicer if the halloumi wasn't in breadcrumbs but as it comes, just grilled in slices as it was hard to tell if it had been made by the chef or was from a packet. The serving staff were friendly, attentive but not intrusive. The wine list complimented the dishes well. The double espresso at the end of the meal was good. The restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated with a seaside nautical feel.

this lovely restaurant accommodated us, our friends, our two dogs and our 9 month old son after a lovely long walk for some lunch. The fish and chips was absolutely beautiful and huge portions. My son was a massive fan of the minted crushed peas!...

Our first visit was on the first night of the reopening after a revamp. Even the toilet paper had a splash of paint on it! Every aspect of the restaurant was excellent and very good value.

Fairly good and helpful staff. Starters nice. Whole sea bass very good, but they cut off a quarter of the flesh with the head. And a whole fish should include the head, not keep it for tomorrow's fish soup! The halibut was overcooked and the sauce didn't work well. Overall could do better.

Tonight at the regatta restaurant food was so delicious . Soft shell Crab I have tasted in. Chicago Miami but tonight it was just the best ever dish. Great presentation . Well done and the lemon meringue Choux great dessert too.

My Mother and I had Dinner New Year’s Eve 5 courses £95. As always the food was delicious. There is a good wine selection and the staff are friendly and efficient. When I visit Aldeburgh a visit to the Regatta is always good Thank You. Happy new year to you all.
