The best restaurants in Watling Dacorum East of England

We were looking for somewhere in Flamstead where we could meet some friends before walking to Markyate and back. We spotted this coffee shop and were very pleased to have found it. It is obviously enjoyed by locals but we were also made very welcome. The various coffees we had were of excellent quality and flavour. The biscuits we had (including gluten-free for one of our party) were very good. The cakes looked delicious. The lady running it was very friendly. We'll be happy to return.

A great cosy pub with excellent food and friendly atmosphere.

5 out of 5. Absolute amazing meal! Such a little gem that we stumbled upon on the way to Whipsnade Zoo and it did not disappoint! Everything was perfect, from papadums, starter, main and naan bread. We had the mixed kebab starter, the meat was amazing and melted in the mouth. The chicken tikka masala was 10/10, very sweet and tasty. Garlic naan was super soft and doughy. Service was lovely, very welcoming and happy to have a laugh. You need to go here!! 5⭐️s

Both main courses were incredibly sweet, the peshwari naan was filled with sugar. Very hard to eat. Something is wrong at Spice. Rice was fine, the plain naan was burnt. Very unsuccessful meal.

Super Indian restaurant, which my wife, myself and our friends regularly visit for an evening meal. Large menu of dishes which are always nicely cooked. Excellent service from all staff. Very pleasant atmosphere in which to eat with friends

Recently started doing roast dinners again, absolute cracking roast dinners and incredibly value for money!

Quite a nice venue, plenty of parking but it is advisable to use the overflow carpark as the main one fills up quickly. The pub itself is very nice, very spacious with plenty of tables. The food was adequate, good portion sizes and cooked well. The menu was ok, typical pub restaurant food. I was not really blown away with the menu, they do serve pizza on a Saturday lunchtime. Price is on par with your usual pub food around the area. The only downside was the service, over an hour from ordering to receiving our food. But it was quite busy, so take that into account when going. All in all a pleasant meal out.

We went to eat, I started by ordering a 0.0 Guinness, I was driving and have a heart condition. I was given a normal Guinness so I sent it back, asking again very clearly for a 0.0 Guinness. I was then given what I swear was a glass of half normal Guinness half water!!! The food wasn't much better. The waitress, who was obviously doing her best and was very friendly, deserved better. What ever you do, don't eat here and don't order a low alcohol drink either. In fact, if a bartender serves you an alcoholic drink when you've requested a low or non alcoholic drink, twice, I would consider that extraordinary negligence and potentially very dangerous.

Lovely restaurant, excellent food and service this was our second visit and we were very happy with everything. Highly recommend

Came to the area to buy a car and stumbled across this lovely little pub , outstanding friendly welcome , very very good pint no food but the land lady was more than happy with us bringing our fish and chips from across the road over , even providing us with plate cutlery and sauces to eat with , if we are in the area again we will be making the effort to visit this beautiful little pub again , highly recommend to everyone!

Excellent service but slightly disappointed in the amount of chips. Apparently a previous customer had eaten too many. Will return.
