The best restaurants in Castle Colchester East of England

We had a nice snack there. The staff are very friendly and extremely interesting to see the archaeological dig at the back. Prices reasonable. Worth going to.

This is our 1st time here, we came to see a band that unfortunately have been cancelled due to illness but Decided to still come anyway to see what the place is like it is a lively place highly recommended. Good atmosphere. Good selection of beer & larger, friendly staff too.

The most welcoming and friendly place to grab lunch in Colchester. Fresh produce, and a very tasty selection on the menu. We love it!

Had a really nice meal here at the weekend, food was great and the service was even better. I think our server's name was Katie, she was excellent.

We had lunch here as a couple, the food was delicious beautifully presented and the staff very polite and helpful. They offer a 20% discount from 12/4 Weekdays off everything including drinks so I thought that was good value.

Had a lovely lunch here with friends and family. A lot of people book tables in advance. So beware at busier times. Plenty of tables spread over two floors. Great menu with everything you would expect. Friendly and attentive service despite being so busy. Lots of specials. Very family friendly.

Managed to get a last minute booking on a Saturday night which was very fortunate as the place was full bar the one table that came up. All the food was great and large portions. Location is very central and easy to get to. Will go back if in the area.

As always, fun was had by all. Plenty of games to choose from, good coffee and nachos.

Went for my 45th birthday, definitely the best place we’ve ate in Colchester. We went for the tasting menu which was 8 courses. It was stunning the ingredients were fresh and the meat and fish were delicious. Great flavours and we were glad that we didn’t have a menu to pick from. Would definitely recommend. We paid £110 pp with drinks.

Had no problems with mother in laws wheelchair in here there was a wide door and lots of space to spin around. The front of store is full of all the chocolate that they sell and the rear is a cafe that sells coffee, tea and various chocolate snacks. The service was very quick and the coffee tasted just as it should. The only little niggle is that the regular coffee cups are without handles, which caused a problem for mother in law but bigger cups with handles were given when asked for.

Such a fabulous evening. It's was a birthday celebration and the staff really made it special. They made my husband's favourite dish especially for him! Can't ask for more than that!
