Excellent food, staff, cleanliness and price. Particularly liked the new salted caramel milk shake. A trip down memory lane for us.

Nice, clean and friendly very helpful. Food tasty and nice to see lots of variety. We don’t all like the traditional . Glad to see them back after they left lakeside.

Lovely food rather quick service and also do gluten free hence why we keep retuning small hiccup when ordering the last time we visited but was cleared up fast and food was lovely

Lovely service from a friendly team in a nice cosy shop. The coffee was so good that I bought a kilo of it! Korbin was great, his coffee was outstanding.

Lovely lunch, great service, perfect for the family, home cooked, adjusted for nut allergies. Fab coffee. Just what we wanted for a bank holiday Monday.

Enjoyable evening, was definitely made better by the friendly service. We arrived a little late for our booking but it was no problem at all for the them. Debora was very helpful, friendly and welcoming right from the beginning and Paul was efficient alongside her also. We didn’t wait long for anything and all was delivered in a friendly manner! Love bringing the family to Merrymeade. Our favourite place for afternoon tea. Staff always friendly and welcoming. Great in the summer with lovely terrace and seating area.

I had a rather disappointing experience at this cafe. As a mother dealing with the challenges and expenses of school holidays, I hoped the animal sanctuary cafe would be a pleasant and reasonably priced option. However, I ended up regretting my decision to dine there as the food and drinks left much to be desired. The kids' beans on toast was decent in taste, but the portion size of just one piece of toast was quite underwhelming. The pizza slice looked appealing, but unfortunately, the toppings lacked flavor, and the dough didn't hold up well, disintegrating as I tried to enjoy it. The vanilla milkshake was disappointing as it tasted bland, lacking any real vanilla flavor. And as for the coffee, it was truly atrocious. Even adding sugar couldn't salvage the taste, and the takeaway cups had an odd smell that didn't help matters. All in all, I would advise against visiting this cafe during your trip to Hopefield. It's better to pack your own food and avoid the disappointment of a lackluster dining experience.

I had a takeaway of Lamb Biryani and a Stuffed Paratha. I did not enjoy it at all. The 'lamb' was clearly mutton and it was hard with gristle in it and the Biryani was flavourless. I couldn't eat it and therefore it went into the bin. Total waste of £15

Going to the Pizza Express in Brentwood was a very wonderful experience. Not only was the food lovely, but the staff were so good at their jobs. Lisa, our waitress, was very funny and friendly and finished our order with no problem. The food was also delicious. Overall, our stay here was wonderful.

We visit the Giggling Squid often as this is our favourite restaurant in Brentwood. Service, food, environment, everything is always 5*
